I actually kind of like Most Expensive's new set  They look much more substantial than the former one and the floor logo is a unique touch for the game.  The new $10,000 sign in Half Off looks pretty cool with the square pattern replacing the black, in my opinion.

Great to see a perfect show for the first time in eons.

Today's show was the first, in a very long time, where it actually felt like The Price Is Right I grew up watching. No guests, the games were winnable, Drew was in pretty good form, no special crap and weird prizes, etc. Take note guys, this is how the show should be ALL THE TIME!!!

This has to be the first show since the Season 35 Premiere where 6 cars were offered on one show.

I love the showcases and I think it was good that they offered different cars instead of 2 of the same model. Even though there was a double overbid, the amount of winners didn't make the Double Overbid feel like a downfall for the whole show. I hope they continue with showcases like today's, prizes that fit within an overall theme and made sense... with no celebrities making them look like more than what they actually are.

I LOVE Most Expensive's new set! I love the lettering and the fact that Most Expensive's name is actually a part of the game. I'm glad they kept the numbers cuz I honestly thought they could get rid of them since Drew doesn't mention the prizes by number the way Bob used to. The crew didn't make the set too modern with screens and what not..... Great Job!!!!!

The only issue I had with todays' show was the 1st IUFB. When there are shows with couples, don't have the models come into contestant's row with an IUFB. It was crowded enough and it was hard for Amber to get in and out like she would with just 4 contestants.

The game lineup was not bad. I think they could have switched the prizes for Side By Side and Pick A Pair, but it worked either way.

I really hope this show is a wake up call to the crew and to Drew because this is how the show should be. I hope this wasn't just special because of Valentine's Day.

Six-for-six on the pricing games and then Drew brings up the Showcases. He jinxed the whole thing! That Most Expensive set was so different I thought it was an entirely new pricing game. The Pick-a-Pair (so many similar products) and One Away (2 as the last number) setups looked brutal but the contestants won away! Still the best show of the week!

The evil Mustang is FINALLY won and we get our first perfect show in ages! Awesome! Unfortunately, the DOB in the showcases was a painful way to end an exciting show.

As I write this I haven't seen today's show yet, but I read through the recap.  And I can honestly say, when I saw that the show started off with a win I was actually scrolling down slowly (mice with scroll wheels ROCK) to see if maybe, MAYBE this special show wouldn't be a complete disaster like the last few were.  And with each win I was getting more and more eager, the suspense building, and then finally....PERFECTION!!!

FINGERS:  enjoy the following lyric (set to the song from the JibJab commercial from 2004):
"Take note,
Go vote,
That you want wins, to be seen!"

This, THIS was the way the show needs to be done.  A great lineup (no appearances by Squeeze Play, Pick-a-Number, Money Game, That's Too Much, OR Double Prices), a great prize lineup, and best of all, showcases that didn't have mystery prizes.  I'm actually looking forward to seeing this show after work tonight.  (More so once I realized the new Most Expensive set premiered today!)

Fantastic show!

I can't believe we hadn't had a perfecto since 2008. Wow. But great to finally have one.

I love Most Expensive's new set - the colors work together, it doesn't look outlandish, over-the-top, or garish like Make Your Mark did, it still has numbers, and it actually has a logo! Great!

The showcases... again, wow. Shame that we had a double overbid, but the perfecto compensated for that. And again... WOW! Four cars! Has there ever been four cars in the showcases before?

To the producers: great show, guys. Take a lesson from this show and do things like this all the time. Bravo!

I am not fond of the new Half-Off wall.  But it was certainly a lucky wall today, as it produced a win.  I thought it was pretty odd that the four boxes left in play were all of the third-tier boxes (9-12).

I am not fond of the new Most Expensive set, but my feeling about it may change after a while.  Yes, it is great to see the name Most Expensive actually on the set for the first time.

All Hershey products for the trip to Hershey, PA.  That has to be a Scott set-up.

Finally!  A perfect show!

Roger, when was the last time we had a perfect show with a double overbid?

My showcase bids:
Scion/Jeep--$46,107
VW/Ford--$46,107

I really liked the new Most Expensive set, although, when I first saw it, I thought they had incorporated those damn zig-zags into the set. The colors are tasteful, and to reiterate what somebody else said - it's not garish like Make Your Mark.

Did anybody notice if the numbers on the new set light up or not?

As for that new wall for 1/2 Off, it looked kind of odd at first, but it does go well with the game's set.

All Hershey products for the trip to Hershey, PA.  That has to be a Scott set-up.

I actually think Hershey sponsored the entire show. Everybody in the audience received those bags, lots of Hershey-related prizes, and Hershey got a plug in the credits.

A perfecto, a showcase showdown dig, and what looked like fingers to Fingers for some of the setups...this was one of the best shows this season I think.

The showcase rounds...I kind of liked how the two of them were near mirrors of each other. I wished one of the couples won their showcase, but oh well. This was also the first show where I finally did NOT overbid on any showcase in CSS. 40K for the first, 45K for the second.

Too bad it ended in a double overbid! :-(

Neat new wall in 1/2 Off & awesome new set for Most Expensive!

Best show not only of the week, but of the season, IMHO.

I agree, I always feel bad when someone gets a $40k car in their showcase and the other contestant gets $20k worth of dreck.

Yes - the numbers do light up (and in fact, were flashing when the game was revealed (and won)).  There are also lights around the inside perimeter of the number's pedestal that flash with the numbers themselves.  I like the new set - it is certainly interesting to look at, yet not ugly and sparse.

This show had a lot of energy throughout.  As others have said, this is how the show should be.

I actually think Hershey sponsored the entire show. Everybody in the audience received those bags, lots of Hershey-related prizes, and Hershey got a plug in the credits.
Don't know about anywhere else, but here in Denver, there was also a Hershey's ad before the 4th game as well.

By putting four cars barely or under 20k in the SCs, Greco was favoring a DOB, I think. This was still an AWESOME show, thankfully!

True, but both couples did really seem to go for it with their bids.  I got the feeling straight away that they were both over as I doubt they'd give away 4 cars in a showcase where any of them are over $20k.

Alright, now that I'm watching the show:

OPENING:  the pink light border and graphics on Door #4 (and the custom logo for the occasion) were all nice touches.  Wouldn't want to overdo it though.

SET:  alright, usually I'm not a big fan of this kind of set decorations, but I gotta hand it to Bente for the decorations on stage today.  3/5

HALF OFF:  starting a shot off with a $10K win is always good!  I like the revised wall though, it fits with the actual game prop.  Consistency is good.

It took me until IUFB #2 to realize that all the couples were dressed for Twin Day.  Nice touch!  That the neon strips stayed pink during the whole show was also a nice subtle touch.

ANY NUMBER:  wait, is this TPiR?  those prices didn't look unspeakably evil...and seeing this couple with their new car gave me an appreciation for the practice of sending contestants over to see their prizes.  On shows like this one the practice works.

IUFB #3:  we should do the thing with the plasma screen behind the phones calling attention visually to the calling plan all the time.  Just not with animated graphics next time though...

MOST EXPENSIVE:  oooooh, new setup.  The logo on the floor is a nice touch.  And new price tags too.  This is going to take some getting used to, that's for sure.  But in a good way, since it's actually fairly consistent with the look of Balance Game '06 and Gas Money.

PICK-A-PAIR:  meh, fairly normal playing, but played well nonetheless.

IUFB #5:  okay...perfumes assorted scented products?  and...$699 followed by $697?

SIDE BY SIDE:  can I just say how glad I was to see this game and not Double Prices?  or Squeeze Play?  or Pick-a-Number?

ONE AWAY:  was it my imagination or was the opening shot of this game WAY wider than usual?  Matter of fact, seems like I was seeing a lot more of the floor than I'm used to all during this game...

SHOWCASE:  alright, a handy PAIR of new cars in each showcase was a VERY nice touch.  Too bad there was a Double Overbid, but you simply can't ruin the good mood that naturally results from a perfect show!!!

Going to mainly focus on the two new set changes, because OMGWTF PERFECT SHOW is obvious.

The new Half Off wall reminds me of '84 Scrabble.

Most Expensive...it's going to take a lot of getting used to.  On first look it has a good appearance.  Really liked the old set, though.

As much as I do not like the concept of a couples show there is no doubt this was the best episode of Price i've seen in a lonnnnnnngggggg time. Not just because we had a 6 fer 6'er. Drew was on the ball, the prizes made sense. As several have already said this is how Price should be.

The new Most Expensive set looks awesome. Glad to see the game has a logo with its name now. I believe that leaves One Wrong Price as the only game without its name to be found anywhere on the set.

I'm not sure which win was more impressive--Any Number or One Away--but I have to say they were both impressive.

What a way to end the week!

I noticed this...the new Most Expensive set is like some weird tribute to $25,000 Pyramid and Family Feud; those pyramids in between the pylons are from the eponymous show and the new Most Expensive logo has pretty much the exact same profile as the well-known Family Feud survey board.

Speaking of the new ME set, could someone post a screencap once CBS puts up video?  Unfortunately, CBS video doesn't work at all for me, and I caught about a split-second of the set.  I'd like to carefully study this new set.  Thanks in advance! :-)

Thank you, Wayoshi!  I'm not too fond of the colors they used on the 1/2 Off wall.  If they're going to use those starburst things, they should pop out a little more because you can't see them all that well.  I feel like both the tag and the starbursts need some kind of drop-shadow (a-la the logos on the Big Doors), but it doesn't need to be too flashy.  A simple drop-shadow would do.

The ME update, on the other hand, is pretty nice.  I passed judgment on it earlier, but I have to say that it does look good after being able to study it for more than a split second.

The ME set was probably redone for HD. Too bad they couldn't have maintained elements of the old props, but I like! Wasn't it the early 80s when those old props first debuted?

Anyhow, TODAY'S SHOW IS THE PRICE IS RIGHT WE ALL LOVED AND GREW UP WITH(From the Johnny and Rod era imho)

What can I say? 6 for 6? I really thought it would never happen again.

Eh, kind of expected a DOB in the showcase with 4 cars being offered, but it didn't really matter by that point

10 for 10.

NOTE TO KATHY AND CREW: PLEASE PRODUCE MORE SHOWS LIKE THIS IN THE FUTURE

 :-D

Oh, and Drew was on his A game today.

You know, after seeing the new Most Expensive set, I wonder if the staff had thought a long time ago to change Most Expensive's set and tried different ways (the red and yellow things and the asterisks) to make it look better and just gave up and decided the only way to make it look better would be to re-design it.

When I saw the new Most Expensive set, my first words were, "What the hell did they do to Most Expensive?!" The new set is kind of a blend of the 70s set and the 90s set, but without the neon. I think that the set looks great. FINALLY! Most Expensive gets their own logo.

Great show overall. I HATE Double Overbids. They always ruin the show.

I try not to judge shows by wins, but wow! What a show!!!!  :hammer:

The only thing I don’t really like about ½ Off’s new wall is that the seam is really obvious now. Other than that, me likey!

I like how Most Expensive’s new set doesn’t use a pastel color scheme.

It was good to see both fee games set-up fairly.

I like how Drew pointed out it was a perfect show.

4 cars in the showcases??? VERY NICE!!!!  :-D

The new Half Off wall reminds me of '84 Scrabble.

I was thinking that myself.

A PERFECT SHOW!!!  I still can't believe it.  I never thought we'd see one of these again, and it was freaking awesome.

Really, the show in general was fantastic.  The double overbid at the end was disappointing, but it couldn't kill the great sense of fun that was running through the entire hour.  One Away especially was really exciting...I didn't think there was any way it was going to be won, and seeing that 3 was the greatest moment of the whole show.

I'm not crazy about the new wall in 1/2 Off.  I guess it fits with the wall behind the boxes, but it looks like Bente took some more of whatever she was high on when she redesigned Punch a Bunch.

On the other hand, Most Expensive -- or Most Expen$ive, I guess -- looks pretty good.  It's different, but it's good.  It's neat that it finally has a logo after all these decades, too.

The Showcase was a neat idea...I never expected they'd put two cars in both showcases.  Too bad neither of them was won.

Great show today.

*1/2 Off: The new walls are okay but it makes the middle more obvious. $10,000 win!!

*Any Number: Great win... always love it when it's down to the wire.

*Most Expensive: Wow! At first I thought this was the debut of a new game. The new set looks really good imo.

*Pick-A-Pair: Pretty easy setup.

*Side by Side: This was SCREAMING to be won.

*One Away: Another great win.

*Showcases: 2 cars for each showcase? Awesome. Too bad though that both couples overbid.

Drew's Hosting: 9.0

Pricing Game lineup: 8.5

Pricing Game Wins: 10 (6/6)

Prizes/Showcases: 9.0

Tilt: 9.0 [First perfect day of the season! Drew was great and it was nice to see Most Expensive's new set. Double overbid did ruin things a bit though and I had a feeling that it would happen after Drew said a few times something along the lines of, "A perfect show!... Well, unless the showcases won't be won."]

Final Score for Today's Episode: 9 out of 10

I wonder how long the floor decal will last, before they decide it's too much hassle and just put the logo on those two backdrops....

Like the Price logo on the camera pedestal in the audience, the logo is likely a carpet. No way in heck they'd make that a decal.

What is there to say that hasn't been said? This show was just plain awesome. DiPirro stuns us with the graphics yet again, the new Half Off wall looks great, and the new Most Expensive set looks AMAZING. All the energy running though this show made it tons of fun to watch!

(Oh, and Side By Side was RIDICULOUSLY easy. A $6000 difference is prices?)

I like the new 1/2 off wall but I disagree with everyone about the Most Expensive set.  I think it's too retro looking and could use some scaling down personally.  Maybe I'm just too used to the previous set though and I'll grow onto this one at some point.

Another perfect show ruined by a Double-Overbid...

On the other hand, two thumbs up to the new Most Expensive setup. While I miss those old number stands, the redesigned game is a total winner. Retro-looking, yet very contemporary...I love it! And best of all, it has a great-looking logo to compliment the set.

Wow, best theme show ever. It felt like a normal show with a couples theme, very nice gameplay, and the DOB didn't dampen things all that much. Just can't believe today came together to be as great a show as it was.

Oh, and the new Most Expensive look is pretty sweet.

Most Expensive (3.5) - 3:41
Pick A Pair (4.5) - 4:02
Side By Side (3.5) - 2:35
One Away (5) - 4:47

I was half paying attention when the new ME set was revealed.  When I started paying attention during the prize descriptions, I was trying to figure out what game they were playing.  When Drew said ME, I did a Scooby Doo "RUH???" and had to rewind.  I love the set.  It's bright and fun, without being completely tacky or over the top.  Whoever mentioned the Pyramid and Family Feud influences, I totally see it. The orange and blue remind me of a lighter version of the Pyramid color scheme.  I love that the TPIR dollar sign made it into the game's logo too.

I'm kind of indifferent towards the new wall in Half Off.  I was trying to decide if the gridlines didn't look right, or if it was just my imagination.  If you're using a wall that splits down the middle, I would think you'd try to go simple so you don't have to worry about multiple elements lining up properly.  On the other hand, I like that it matches the set.  Hmph.

Speaking of Half Off, did anyone notice that when Lanisha picked up box #10, the bottom of the box opened a bit and you could see a piece of money in there?

Nice show today.  When they were playing Any Number, I wanted them to say 8, but in the back of my mind, I was worried that it would end up being a 1, because 8 seemed too obvious.

I'm not crazy about the new wall in 1/2 Off.  I guess it fits with the wall behind the boxes, but it looks like Bente took some more of whatever she was high on when she redesigned Punch a Bunch.

I agree with you both on 1/2 Off.  The light purple of the $10,000 price tag looks too washed out against the new background; it does need something to make it stand out more, whether it get a color change or a drop-shadow as compdude512 suggested.

One Away and ANy Number were not gimmes. Neither 0 or 5 was in the Any Number car price and the choices for the last One Away digit were 0 and 2. Pick a Pair was a little tricky too with the Hersey-themed items.

I'm trying to think back to when Price first went to the couple's shows, and the massive debate over the change that ensued.  It's amazing how a well-produced show, with interesting couples, winnable games, a jovial host, and fun showcases can make that all melt away.  Today's show was thoroughly enjoyable.

Isn't it so funny that a year ago we were all saying the show was going to the crapper if they tried this format? One year later they're still doing it and it seems to go pretty well usually.

Half-Off It's nice to see the drought we had has finally ended. BTW I could actually tell they were a winner before they opened it. When Lanisha picked it up you could see one of the bills.

Any Number- The blue Mustang of death has been defeated!

Most Expensive- I got confused when I saw it and thought it was a new game. I really didn't think we'd see it so soon, but I'd imagine we'll probably being seeing the old set still for a couple episodes depending on how far back they were taped. I loved how the set looked so psychadelic. Even the price tags looked cool!

Pick-a-Pair this was a tuffy because everything looked so close together in price. I was actually saying "Don't lose the game now. We're on a roll! C'mon you can do it!"

Side-by-Side- I said $3596. $9635 just seemed too expensive, but apparently it was just right. Thankfully they didn't listen to me and won themselves a bedroom set.

One Away- I was really expecting Dice Game. Was the lady confused thinking that she could change the numbers to whatever number she thought they could be. You got to give credit for Drew correcting her so she knew what the numbers she was changing would be.

Showcases- Yay! an old practice has returned not only for one showcase, but for two! It was nice to see that Kathy put in multiple cars for each showcase. I thought this day would never return. Now we have to wait and see if they'll ever bring back "three pricing games with a car" days.

Not necessarily.  Next Monday and Tuesday are the only two 2009 tapings left.  Any shows after those are likely to have the new set, even if they were taped before this one.

Is this the first time that Rich has introduced Drew as something other than 'The host/the star of the Price is Right'. For those of youwho haven't seen it, he introduced Drew b saying, ' And now, here's your very own cupid, Drew Carey!'. I thought that it was pretty funny, so long as it doesn't continue on a regular basis. What does everyone else here think?

As long as they confine things like "your very own cupid" and "the Yodely Guy" to special shows, I'm okay with it.  The minute something like that shows up on a regular show, I'm going to yell "THAT'S TOO MUCH!"

Did anyone catch Drew's reaction to being introduced as cupid?  I was trying to lip read and seems like he said something like "oh, c'mon!" to Rich.  I wonder if that was planned, or if it was, if Drew was in on it beforehand?

True... it does indeed look like the 3 platforms can be separated.  However, I don't see the three trips taking three doors.  It would look a little bare, for lack of a better term.

Now, if they would adorn the area behind the door with other props relating to the trip in addition to the plasma, that would be neat.  They did this once with a trip to Ireland, I believe, using the rainbow from Golden Road, among other items.

I doubt he was in on it really from the reaction, and he did indeed say: "Oh cmon!" could tell that quite clearly.
