Title: Styleguy's First Show (My First Show, All Finished)
Post by: styleguy on June 30, 2006, 04:15:02 PM
To celebrate my graduation earlier this month, I am hosting my very first show.  It is a MDS, so there will amazing, fabulous prizes.  I have participated in previous Host Your Owns as a contestant, now it's time to take the microphone, and be a host of one of the longest running game shows, The Price is Right.

Now for the rules:
To enter, all you have to do is reply to this post, no questions asked.  You have 48 hours to reply to the IUFB, Pricing Games, Showcase Showdown, and Showcases.  One deadline missed is okay, two missed and sayonara, arrivederci, adios, and goodbye.  I am an understanding guy, so if something comes up, let me know by PM.  I am willing to accommodate.  Once I have 13 entrants, the show begins.  I can't wait to start this show!

Since edmo has missed the deadline.  Garvin you are up.

Since there was a little confusion, I will give Garvin and Future 24 hours more, but that's it.  We do have to get to the first pricing game.

Title: Re: Styleguy's First Show (PG #1, Triple Play)
Post by: styleguy on July 19, 2006, 03:48:03 PM
Edmojautis, your apology is accepted.  Just don't let it happen again.

A quick recap of the bids:
brian sternal:  $3000
edmojautis:  n/a
Garvin8r:  $3250
Futuregsh:  $3265

All bids are in.  The actual retail price of that stunning grandfather clock is...$4725.  Futuregsh you are the winner, come on up here and play the first pricing game of styleguy's first show.  Since this is my first show, celebrating my graduation, celebrating summer, celebrating 34 fabulous years of The Price is Right, Futuregsh I want to start this show big.  Rich.

Rich:  A brand new car!  (Shane teases the car)

A brand new car is a really cool way to start this show, but I really want to make it memorable.  Rich, there's more isn't there?

Rich:  There sure is styleguy and Futuregsh!  A brand new truck!  (Lanisha teases the truck)

A brand new car, a brand new truck, and Rich and I aren't even done yet.  Rich, what else is there?

Rich:  A brand new sports car!  (Brandi teases the convertible)

Futuregsh, you are going to play Triple Play, where you can win those three stunning cars.  Rich, let's hear about car number 1.

Rich:  Car number one is the practical, affordable 2006 Chevy Aveo LS Sedan.  (Shane shows off the Aveo).  Comes with ABS, Fog Lamps, CD/MP3 Player, Cruise Control, and Convenience Package, along with an economical 5 speed manual transmission, The Chevy Aveo.

Let's see the two prices.  (Rebecca brings over the two price tags).  They are $9,999 and $12,012.  Which one is closer to the actual retail price of that lovely Aveo without going over?

Remember you have 48 hours.
Title: Re: Styleguy's First Show (PG#1, Triple Play)

I will choose $12,012.  And I will not be online again until Thursday PM late FYI...
Title: Re: Styleguy's First Show (PG#1, Triple Play)
Post by: styleguy on July 20, 2006, 07:52:18 PM
Duly noted, Futuregsh.

Let's check the price on that Aveo.  You said $12,012.  I hope there's a YES behind this price.  Is there?

(styleguy removes $12,012.  It says YES underneath $12,012)

YES!  $12,012 is correct!  Let's see what the actual retail price is.  (styleguy removes the Triple Play tag).
The actual retail price is $13,115.  Let's move along to the truck.  (styleguy and Futuregsh walk to the truck).  Rich, let's hear about this lovely dark blue truck.

Rich:  It's the 2006 Chevy Colorado LS Reg Cab 2wd truck.  (Lanisha shows off the practical truck).  This truck will help you get all your work done.  Comes with side air bags, CD/MP3 player, sliding rear window, and 5 speed manual transmission, the Chevy Colorado.

Now Rebecca is going to bring out three price tags.  (Rebecca brings out the price tags).  The objective still is to pick out the price that is closest to the retail price without going over.  If you pick the right price, we move on to that beautiful sports car Brandi is standing by, if you're wrong, the game is over, and since the Triple Play did not get completed you lose the Aveo.

Truck prices:
$15,470
$16,939
$18,825

Which one is closest without going over?
Title: Re: Styleguy's First Show (PG#1, Triple Play)

$16,939 please... (crosses fingers)
Title: Re: Styleguy's First Show (PG#1, Triple Play)
Post by: styleguy on July 21, 2006, 02:44:17 PM
You said $16,939.  Let's see if you're correct.  The price is...  I can't yet, I'm too nervous (styleguy's hands shake as he tries to remove $16,939).  All right, calm down, deep breath (styleguy and Futuregsh each take a deep breath).  Karma be kind.  Is Futuregsh right?  Will there be a YES behind here?  (styleguy removes the $16,939 tag.  It says...

YES!)  YES!  $16,939 is correct!  Let's see the correct price.  (styleguy removes the Triple Play tag).  The truck is $16,940.  By $1 you were right.  Let's move on to that stunning sports car behind door number 3.  (Futuregsh and styleguy walk towards door number 3 where Brandi and the sportscar are).  We are here.  The last car.  If you're right on this last guess Futuregsh, this gorgeous car, the truck, and the Aveo are all yours.  Let's here about this car, Rich.

Rich:  This is the stunning 2006 Pontiac Solstice.  (Brandi mimes driving the sportscar, then opens the door and teases it).  This stunning sportscar comes with Convenience Package, Power Package, Air Conditioning, ABS, Premium Package, 6 disc CD Changer, and sporty 5 speed manual transmission.  The gorgeous Pontiac Solstice.

Rebecca is going to bring out four price tags this time.  (Rebecca brings out the price tags).  The object is the same, pick the price that is closest to the price of that sports car without going over.  If you are right you win every car on this stage.  If you are wrong, you do not win every car on this stage, because the Triple Play was not completed.  I don't want to think that way.  I want you to win Futuregsh, and start off this first show with a huge, history making bang.  Let's see the price tags.

The prices are:
$19,000
$21,000
$23,000
$25,000

Which one is closest without going over Futuregsh?

I am going to go with the audience and also my instinct and say $23,000 for the Solstice...
Title: Re: Styleguy's First Show (PG#1, Triple Play)
Post by: styleguy on July 22, 2006, 04:24:19 PM
He says $23,000 for the Solstice.  He's listening to the audience.  Is that a good decision?  We'll find out after the break.  No, just kidding.  We're going to find out soon.  (styleguy reaches for the $23,000 tag to take it off, and then decides to not remove it).  You know, Futuregsh, if you're right, you'll win the Aveo, the Colorado, and this stunning Solstice.  You'll be the first winner of Styleguy's first show.  You'll start this show off with a historic bang.  You'll win, and we'll be 1/6 of the way to a perfect show.  I really want to see you win, and you know I'm not going to remove this tag.  You are.  Futuregsh, remove that $23,000 tag.  Let's hope for a YES behind it.  (Futuregsh removes the $23,000 tag, it says...Y...E...S)

It says YES!

It is YES!  You picked the right tag!  $23,000 is right!  You've made the Triple Play and won all 3 cars!  Let's see the right price.  (styleguy removes the Triple Play tag).  The Solstice is $24,520.  You, Futuregsh, have won the first game of styleguy's Million Dollar Spectacular, and you will spin the wheel for a million a little later on the show.  An exciting win!  An exciting start!  We will be right back after this break.

(commercials)

Rich we are back.  Wasn't that an amazing win?

Rich:  It sure was styleguy.

I would love for my first show to be a perfect show.  We started with a huge bang.  Rich, call the name of another winner.

Rich:  I think we have a winner in ilovesuperball.  ilovesuperball, come on down!  You are the next contestant on styleguy's Million Dollar Spectacular!

ilovesuperball is here.  We are ready to see the next IUFB.  Rich, tell us about it.

Rich:  It's a new home gym.  (Shane mimics working out on the new home gym).  It's the Bowflex Ultimate XTLU Home Gym.  Get a professional work out at home, without an expensive gym work out membership with this new home gym.

ilovesuperball starts the bidding.  You have 48 hours, ilovesuperball.

Bidding order:

edmojautis
Garvin8r.

Let's recap the bids.  The bids are:
ilovesuperball:  1500
brian sternal:  1800
Edmojautis:  1999
Garvin8r:  1801

The actual retail price of the home gym is...$2500.  Edmojautis is the winner, and you will play our next pricing game.  Edmojautis, I would like to give you all three of these stunning prizes.

Rich:  A new HDTV, a new sauna, and a new sofa.  First, experience the new generation of television with this 46" Bravia S Series LCD HDTV from Sony.  (Brandi teases the television)  Enjoy clear, perfect television with this top of the line TV.  Next, relax after a hard day's work with this Therasauna.  (Lanisha teases the sauna)  Forget all your troubles while steaming in this gorgeous sauna from Therasauna.  Finally, highbrowfurniture.com presents the stunning Finnjull 57 contemporary style sofa.  (Rebecca sits on the sofa and teases it)  Give your home a sense of contemporary, glamourous style with this elegant sofa from highbrowfurniture.com.

Edmojautis, your game is Buy or Sell.  The object of this game is to earn money by buying or selling those gorgeous prices there.  Each one has an incorrect price on it.  If you believe that the wrong price is too high, you will sell the prize.  If you believe that the wrong price is too low, you will buy the prize.  If you have made at least 1 dollar, you win the prizes and you will win whatever money you have made.  Let's see the wrong prices.  First the HDTV.  The price on it is $4500, do you want to buy the TV or sell it?  Next the sauna price is $3195, do you want to buy the sauna or sell the sauna?  Finally the sofa price is $4570, do you want to buy the sofa or sell it back?

The TV price is $4500.  You said buy.  Brandi show us that price.  The TV price is $3500, you lose $1000.  This is not starting out well.  Let's see the sauna.  The sauna has a price of $3195, actual price on that sauna is $4695, you lose $1500.  $2500 in the hole, let's hope you're right on the sofa.  Sofa price $4570, actual price $6570 you lost $2000 more dollars.  You're $4500 in the hole.  I'm sorry edmojautis, you didn't make a profit in Buy or Sell, but you will spin the wheel later, for possibly 1,000,000.  If you win a million, you'll be able to pay us back the $4500, lol.  We have more games, more prizes, and more fun after this break.

(commercials)

Rich:  We have sideshowPA.  Come on down!  You are the next contestant on styleguy's Price is Right!

Everyone has bid.  I will recap the bids before I reveal the price of the fridge.

sideshowPA:  1500
Garvin8r:  1879
ilovesuperball:  875
brian sternal:  1900

The actual retail price of the fridge is...$2897!  Brian Sternal is the winner and will play our third pricing game.  Brian, I would love to give away this.

Rich:  It's a brand new personal watercraft!  (Shane mimics riding the watercraft)  Honda presents the Aqua Trax R-12X Watercraft.  This watercraft is a two seat turbocharged adventure machine with a four stroke engine.  Have hours of fun on the water with this new personal watercraft.

Brian, your game is Balance Game 06.  Right here I have four bags, each one with is filled with styleguy silver dollar.  The bags you can see are filled with 749, 3000, 5000, and 7000 styleguy silver dollars each (styleguy shows brian the silver dollar, it's silver and it has a picture of styleguy on it).  Over there where Rebecca is standing is a bag with styleguy silver dollars in it for each dollar in the price of the watercraft.  I'm going to put the 749 bag on the scale here (styleguy puts the 749 bag on the scale, the scale makes a jingle jangle sound).  749 are the last three numbers in the price of the watercraft.  What you're going to do brian is place two of the three remaining bags on the scale, for example if you believe the price of the watercraft is 8,749 you'll place the 3,000 and 5,000 bags on the scale.  After you do that Rebecca is going to place the bag with the watercraft's silver dollars on the other side.  If the bags balance, you win, simple as that.

Remember 48 time limit.

Okay Brian has put 3000 and 7000 on the scale.  Rebecca is now going to bring over the bag with the watercraft's silver dollars.  (Rebecca brings over the bag and sets it on the other side of the scale.  The scale does its balancing manuevers to the music and...it finally balances).  The scale has balanced!  You win!  Let's see the price of the watercraft, it's 10,749.  You have won and you will spin the wheel for 1,000,000 after this break.

(commercials)

We are back.  We are having a very good show today.  Edmojautis is here, brian sternal is here, and our top winner this half, with three brand new cars in his garage, Futuregsh.  Each of you will spin the wheel.  The object is to get as close as you can to one dollar without going over.  If you get a dollar in one spin or a combination of two spins, you'll win one thousand dollars and you will have a bonus spin.  In the bonus spin, if you get one of the green sections, 5000 more for you, but if you get that dollar, one million dollars is yours.

Spinning order:
Edmojautis
brian sternal
Futuregsh

Edmojautis is first at the wheel.  Edmojautis, pick a number between 1-20.

48 time limit as usual.

Edmojautis is staying at .75.  Brian Sternal, you are next at the wheel.  Seventy five cents is what you must beat.  What number would you like, 1-20.

Remember 48 hour time limit.

All right, the wheel is spinning.  Where it will land, nobody knows.  It's going past the dollar.  It's slowing down.  It has stopped on a quarter.  Edmojautis has .75 cents.  The wheel has landed on a quarter, so you must spin again.  What number would you like?

Futuregsh, when you spin, give me two numbers.

Brian has a quarter, and is spinning again.  Where is the wheel going to stop?  Will it stop on 75 cents, giving brian 1 dollar and one thousand dollars and a shot at 1 million?  Let's see.  It's well past the seventy five, it's slowing, not a dollar.  Oh no, brian you got one dollar one spin too late.  You're over.  Enjoy your watercraft.

Futuregsh it is your turn to spin.  Futuregsh has three cars, and needs gas money.  Futuregsh, two numbers please.  75 cents is what to beat.

Futuregsh has spun the wheel.  Let's see where it is going to land.  The wheel has stopped on 55 cents, almost a tie.  You will need to spin again, since Edmojautis has 75 cents.  Futuregsh spins again.  45 would be wonderful.  35 is good too, and that's where the wheel has landed.  55 and 35 make 90 cents.  Futuregsh you have won the showdown and you will be in the showcases at the end of the show.  Rich, let the audience and the viewers at home know how to participate in Styleguy's Host Your Own Show.

Everyone has bid.  The price of the digital piano is...$4695.  ilovesuperball has won and will play our next pricing game.  Rich has something to say to you, ilovesuperball.

Rich:  You can win $20,000 in cash!

Yes you can win $20,000 in cash playing the Grand Game.  But, we have to start you at 2 dollars.  Let's see the target price today.  The target price today is $7.00.  Four of these grocery items here are less than $7.00, two are more.  Pick the four that are under $7.00, and you win $20,000.  Rich, let's here about these items.

Rich:  First we have Brut Splash On Lotion, for the man who can't afford a designer scent.  Next Refresh Tears Eye Drops keep your eyes from being dried out and red.  Jif Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter, the peanut butter moms prefer.  Finazzle Soap Scum Remover removes nasty soap scum from your bathroom.  Bruce's Yams are delicious at Thanksgiving or any other time of year.  Finally Marie Callender's delicious Banana Cream Pie is a perfect dessert for any occasion, and there they are.

Products:
Lotion
Eye Drops
Peanut Butter
Cleaner
Yams
Pie

Okay, ilovesuperball, name one product there that is under $7.00.

I'll say the peanut butter.

I really like Grand Game! This is going to be easy. I'm going to save the yams last, if I make it that far that is. Everyone who plays it should save the least expensive last.

I have a question about the lotion, how big is the bottle?

Rich:  It's 7 oz.

Thanks Rich.  You say the peanut butter is less than 7 dollars.  Is it?  Let's see (styleguy flips down the peanut butter display) it's $2.99, so you're moving up to 20 dollars.  Which product would you like to pick next?

I'm taking Frank's advice and keeping the 48 hour limit.  The game is half way through, so I can't do any major changes like that.

Not a problem.  Golden Road went through some technical difficulties earlier in the week, so no problemo.

Back to the show.  You have picked the pie.  I hope this pie is under $7.00.  If it is, you'll move up to $2000 and be one step closer to $20,000.  Let's hope this pie is under $7.00.  Is it?  (styleguy flips down the pie tag)  Oh no!  It's $9.59.  I'm sorry.  Let's see the other products.  (styleguy removes the eye drop tag)  That's more, $7.99.  (styleguy removes the cleaner tag)  That's less at $5.99.  (styleguy revmoes the yams tag)  That's way less at $1.49.  ilovesuperball, I'm sorry, but there is a silver lining.  You'll spin the wheel later on for a shot at $1000000.

Rich:  This has been the first half of Styleguy's First Show, a Million Dollar Spectacular.  The second half is coming up with fun, prizes, and the fabulous showcases.

Yes, the second half will have more prizes, more winners, more fun.  Will someone spin the wheel and win one million?  Tune in, we have lots more show.

All bids have been posted.  Will Garvin's bid of 3100 get him out of Contestant's Row, or will he be the first member of Styleguy's First Four Breakfast Club?  We will know soon.  The actual retail price of that bar set is...$3393.  Garvin has made it out of Contestant's Row at the last possible moment.  Garvin, at the beginning of the show I gave away three of these.  You win this game, and you'll win this.

Rich:  A brand new car!  (Rebecca teases the new car).  It's the Chrysler 300 sedan.  This popular, stylish sedan is perfect for the family.  This car comes with SIRIUS satellite radio, Electronic Stability Control, Protection Group, Power Adjustable Pedals and 4 speed automatic transmission.  The Chrysler 300.

Garvin, Brandi is bringing out 5 Price Tags.  They are $26,385, $24,292, $27,500, $29,065, and $25,413.  Pick the right price, you win that car.  It's not that simple.  You are going to win chances by guessing whether the price of a prize I show you is true or false.  Brandi, take away the price tags.  Shane bring out the first item, and Rich tell us about it.

Rich:  CSI:  The Board Game is hours of crime solving fun.  Get the chance to be just like the detectives on this show.

Rich:  It's the Juiceman Juicer.  Make all different kinds of delicious, nutritious juices with this professional style juicer.

Rich:  The Brookstone Foot Spa has a whirlpool bath designed to massage and comfort your aching feet.  With two powerful motors, two rotating hydro jets and soothing heat, as well as two therapeutic rolling nodes.

Nice trap price on the last one.  That's what I like about the true/false pricing -- it's less prone to someone simply guessing well and winning.

On the other hand, it seems as though this one would be true, so that's what I'll say.  Now I gotta look at those prices for the car again.
Title: Re: Styleguy's First Show (PG #6, 5 Price Tags)
Post by: styleguy on August 20, 2006, 02:02:14 PM
True/fase is more difficult that higher/lower or one digit is right and one is wrong.  Brandi will bring out the price tags in a minute, but first we have to see if you're right on the last item being true.  You have said true, that the price of the foot spa is $99.  Is it?  (Styleguy removes the foot spa tag).  It is $99 so you win that and another choice of the five price tags.  You have three choices of the five price tags.  I feel good about your chances of winning.  Brandi is bringing the five price tags out again.  (Brandi brings the five price tags back out on to the stage).  Here they are the five price tags.

Price tags:
$26,385
$24,292
$27,500
$29,065
$25,413

List all three of your choices in your reply.

You have started with $26,385.  I'm going to remove this tag, and if it says WIN on it, that will be your new Chrysler 300.  It'll be sitting in your driveway in Illinois.  Let's see if it will be (Styleguy removes the $26,385 tag).  It says WIN, that Chrysler is yours!  You'll also be spinning the big wheel for a shot at one million dollars.  That will be after this short break.

(commercials)

The Second Showcase Showdown is here.  The Big Wheel is ready to be spun by ilovesuperball, Tailspin91 (tpiradam), and Garvin8r.  Each of you will spin the wheel to get as close as you can to a dollar without going over.  If you get a dollar in one spin or two spins, you'll win 1000 dollars and get a bonus spin.  On the bonus spin, if you get one of the green sections 5000 more, but if you get the dollar,  you'll win one million dollars.  OK, ilovesuperball is first.  Please give me two numbers between 1-20 ilovesuperball.

ilovesuperball, spin that wheel and hope for a dollar.  Let's see where the wheel is going to land.  It might be 95 cents (the wheel slows to 95, but doesn't quite stop, it stops on 55), nope 55 cents.  Iffy number.  Would you like to spin again or stay?

ilovesuperball has chosen to spin again.  45 would be wonderful right now.  45 is coming by too fast.  Oh no not 65, don't stop there.  It stopped on 65.  ilovesuperball, you're over.  I hope you had a good time playing.

Tailspin you are up next.  Spin that wheel.  And the dollar is flying by and it's looking like a dime.  Since you want to spin again on less than 60 and a dime is way less than 60.  Spin again.  Tailspin has one dime, looking for 90 cents.  It's flying by 90, and 75 is not bad.  75 cents more.  85 cents is a good score.  Garvin you must beat 85 cents to get into the showcase.

Garvin two numbers please.

Good job Tailspin.  85 cents is an excellent score.  Garvin, 85 is what you have to beat.  Spin that wheel.  Almost 75 cents, 40 cents is your score.  You must spin again, because Tailspin has 85 cents.  45 will tie, and 60 will give you the dollar.  Spin it again Garvin.  Looking for 60, it's flying by sixty.  Will it make it to 50?  No no no don't stop at 85.  It is stopping at 85.  Garvin, I'm sorry you're over.  Enjoy your new car.  Tailspin, your 85 held up.  A woo hoo is definitely in order because you are in the showcases, which will come up in just a few minutes.

The commercials are over, and the Showcase is starting.  Our top winner, who has won three cars in Triple Play at the beginning of the show, and is now looking to win even more...Futuregsh!  Our runner up, who also did well today, who won two lovely trips is Tailspin91!  Each of you will have a fabulous showcase to bid on.  Futuregsh since you are the top winner, you can bid on this first showcase or pass it to Tailspin and bid on the second one.  Also remember if you're 250 or less away from your showcase without going over, you win both showcases.  So, let's take a look at Showcase Number One!

Rich:  This first showcase visits the offices of the Stephanie Starr Talent Agency, and we have a surprise guest star for you playing the role of Stephanie Starr in this showcase, it's none other than former Price is Right model, Janice Pennington!
Stephanie:  Come in.
Rebecca:  Stephanie, I'm up for a very important role as a socialite.  How can I get the part?
Stephanie: Well from what I learned the perfect way to get that part is to look the part and to wear this stunning gown.
Rich:  From Carmen Marc Valvo (Brandi models the stunning gown) this elegant neutral colored gown with ivory burnout overlay is a gorgeous show stopper of a gown, perfect for any occasion.
(Rebecca thanks Stephanie and leaves the office, Shane walks into Stephanie's office)
Stephanie:  Hello Shane.  What's new?
Shane:  Stephanie, there's a new rock musical I want to get the lead in.  What's a surefire way to get it?
Stephanie:  To get the part, make sure you take this guitar.
Rich:  From Gibson the Custom Shop 1954 Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar rocks the house with its awesome sound.
(Shane thanks Stephanie and leaves.  Lanisha comes in giddy)
Stephanie:  Lanisha why so happy?
Lanisha:  Stephanie they're auditioning for the female version of "Ricky Bobby:  Talledega Nights".  I gotta get the lead!  How do I get it?
Stephanie:  Lanisha, make sure you show up at the audition driving this new Corvette!
Rich:  The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 sports car.  It's 505 horsepower engine rockets to 60 mph in under 5 seconds.  Comes with 6 speed manual transmission, package 2LZ, sound system with navigation, and polished aluminum wheels.

Stephanie:  This showcase, which I hope you don't have the talent to overbid, can be yours if The Price is Right.

Wasn't it great having Janice here as a guest star?  Thanks Janice for being here.  Futuregsh do you want to bid on that showcase, or pass it to Tailspin and bid on Showcase Number Two?

48 hour time limit.

We have reached the culmination of Styleguy's First Show.  Futuregsh and Tpiradam are here in the Showcases, and now we are going to find out who has won their showcase.

Adam, I'm going to start with you first.  You had the second showcase with that stunning sport cruiser.  You bid $29,321 on that showcase.  The actual retail price on that showcase is...$71,378.  A difference of $42,057.  You definitely didn't go over.  Futuregsh you must be closer than $42,057 to win your showcase.  Your showcase featured that beautiful Corvette.  You bid $47,800 on your showcase Futuregsh.  The actual retail price of your showcase is...$81,754, with a difference of $33,954, Futuregsh you win!  You have won that beautiful Corvette, and three other cars, and your total so far comes to $141,054.  Nobody won the million in either one of the spinoffs, so as the winner of the showcase, you'll get to spin for one million dollars.  What number 1-20 would you like for your million dollar spin?

48 hour time limit.
