Once again, we get the kind that can't seem to get a grasp on the situation. As if the
battle for the flatware wasn't enough, she thought that car was a $68,000 one. Barker
asked her if she really thought that, and she stuck with it - and he walked away with
his head hanging until she wised up.

You know, if it wasn't Ten Chances, 795 would've been a brilliant guess.

We had too much Gold Bond today.

Is Lucky 7 being won too much?  This is the second time in recent playings that a 9 has come up on the end.

Lucky $even – Let me just say, Barker giving her the wrong bills was “priceless”. Anyway, she played it beautifully – that nine was a killer, and IMO – a dirty trick...

Grand Game – finally, this game is won. Seems like it’s been forever since this game was last won...

Balance Game (’06) – excellently played. Nothing more to say...

10 Chances – When was the last time this game was played so poorly? Not only did she take forever, it was VERY obvious she, and apparently her daughter as well, have never seen this game. BTW: I called the price of the car.

Cliff Hangers – She knew what she was doing. She took time to think about those prices, and it really paid off

Squeeze Play – Oh well. Just a wrong choice of choosing...

Showcases – Very good bids today. Rita wasn’t off by too much, and apparently, neither was Evette.

All in all, not a bad show. The worst part was when Rita played 10 Chances...

Excellent show today!  Bob was great!  Yvette was great!  Joan was great!  Ten Chances was great!

We had a record here:  three completely seperate local interruptions for three completely unrelated reasons!  I still saw most of the show, save for the beginning, the whole third segment, and Squeeze Play, but still, just kinda' amazing that they'd actually have three seperate issues to interrupt for in a single hour!  One was interruption worthy, anyway.

I felt bad for Yvette after Lucky $even.  There was just no way any normal person could win Lucky $even today.  For that matter, I doubt many of us could have won, either.  I wound up missing by a total of 14, myself.

Am I ever happy that Yvette won her showcase though!  I really, really wanted her to win too.  At the same time, however badly Rita played Ten Chances, I liked her.  Mostly because she passed the car showcase to Yvette, but after that, I couldn't really be mad at Rita, could I?

Ten Chances was fun!  I don't care what you guys all say, but when Bob's on the ball with the game, he can make disasterous playings fun to watch, like today!  Yay for Bob!  Yay for the underrated Ten Chances!

Speaking of Ten Chances, considering how long Rita took with the tenth chance, I'm surprised Bob didn't mention the ten second rule.  Not that they'd actually enforce it, but still unusual.

Still speaking of Ten Chances, fourth!  I can't believe they played Ten Chances, of all car games, fourth, considering it's been ages since it's been played in the second half period!

And all that, and I haven't even gotten to Joan yet!  She was great, and a lot of fun as well:  so nice to see her win Grand Game; I was surprised she won, since the Gold Bond just kinda' looked like it would've been the most expensive product there.  So yay for her!

For the record, Joe, that's not the first time Bob's mistakenly given the contestant the $500 wad instead of the seven $1 bills.  It's happened at least once before.

1st game... I missed while I was getting lunch.. apparently she lost because she was 1st in the SSD

Grand Game... She played very well.. when she picked the powder I knew she won!

Balance Game/SSD#1... I've seen balance game and even I was confused with his explaination of it! Bob is really starting to worry me... I hope nothing is wrong with him..

10 Chances... WOW! What can I say! ummm 69,000.. 68,000... the car they gave away last night on GSM's Card Sharks wasn't even worth that much! Did you see Bob?!?

Cliffhangers... I couldn't have done any better myself!

Squeze Play... I would have gotten this wrong too!

SSD#2... Lets see how bad Rita can screw up her showcase!!!

Showcase... WOW!! Rita had a sensable bid!!! Go Figure!.. But again close to a DSW!!

And I like how Rich seems to be interacting better with Bob when he does his plugs, etc... It sounds like how Rod was with Bob...

Lucky Seven: Tough loss. After the way the price was going, you'd think the producers had let up with this game. Apparently not. If that Mustang had been the same one as the one on Pocket Change, she would have won. BTW, that was kinda funny that Bob gave her the wrong set of money to play the game. Proabably one of the more entertaining playings of the game in a while!

Grand Game: I was shocked she won. I thought for sure the cat litter was the right one. I couldn't believe the body powder was $5.99!

Balance Game: Fairly easy.

Ten Chances: Good news- this was played fourth! Bad news: things went downhill for Rita after the second chance. Not played well at all. That car guess at first kinda reminded me of that $70,000+ guess for a Ford Focus.

Cliffhangers: A bit harder than usual, because the first item was $29.

Squeeze Play: I thought removing the 4 would work.

Showcase: Wow- Rita actually has the nerves to pass a car showcase! I'm actually glad she did, because she didn't deserve to win a car at all after the way she played Ten Chances. And I'm really glad Yvette won, for pete's sakes. I would have bid $29,000 on that.

Overall: Very good show, largely because of the lineup!

Lucky $even – They did a VERY dirty trick making the last number a 9.  I thought it was hilarious when Bob gave her the $500 instead of the $7.  I think Bob should have given her $7 to play the last number, since it was an error.

Grand Game – Wow, I would have never guessed the body powder was less than $6.50.  I thought the cat litter was less (on yesterday's show on IITB, the cat litter was $5.88).  However, they never revealed the price of the cat litter, so maybe it could have been less than...

Balance Game (’06) – It was ok.  Good job!

10 Chances – The mess-up on the flatware really cost her.  She and her daughter obviously don't know the end-in-0 rule.  Even Bob was trying to point it out to her toward the last.  And her initial reaction of $68,000 for the car cracked me up.  Bob was cracking up, too.

Cliff Hangers – Good job playing.  She knew her stuff.

Squeeze Play – Pretty tough; she lost in the end, though.

Showcases – Wow, passing a car showcase; I would have never thought of it.  I'm glad Yvette won, though; it redeemed her loss in Lucky $even (plus, she got a car!)

There are two tubs of cat litter: The larger one, which is $7.37, and the smaller one which is 5.88.  Unfortunately, it's sorta hard to tell which is which.

Lucky 7: I got a kick out of seeing Bob hand out $500.  Finally we get a players who gets a crack at the last #! Ugh, I thought the car price was a gimmie, then 9 shows up, causing a loss.

Grand Game: Wow, I was thinking the cat litter was under and body powder was over.

Ten Chances: 4th?!  Amazing. Playing wise-I thought Rita would bring life into this game, but $509 on the flatware? $68,000 on the Malibu?!  But hey, Bob leaving the set was funny!

Cliffhangers: Good playing.

Showcases: Wow, I though Yvette was over on the Vibe. Not to speak vilely to players, but I was glad Rita lost. Yvette deserved the best player of the day.

Overall: A great show today!

Today's show was very good! I liked Yvette and Joan and Rita.

I felt bad that Yvette didn't win Lucky Seven, that was an evil setup. Frank15, I missed by 15, I thought it was $26,025. But I'm happy that she won the showcase showdown, then the showcase. I also loved her reaction after she won the showcase showdown, and Bob handing her the 5 $100 bills instead was funny.

Joan was a good contestant, she was fun. I'm happy she won Grand Game. I would have picked the cat litter instead of the Gold Bond stuff. Good for her.

$4112 just stood out for me in Balance Game. $3112 seemed too cheap and $5112 seemed a little too much.

Rita did play Ten Chances badly, but she was enjoyable. I was shocked to see it played fourth. I expected it to show up yesterday.

Nancy did a good job with Cliff Hangers. I liked how she knew that each prize got more expensive, but some people might know that already.

Squeeze Play was fairly easy. I would have removed the 6, although $5625 looked good too.

Lucky 7: This was pure EVIL! Well, the only good part was Barker's Sr. Moment with the WRONG MONEY! That 9 was gonna shoot somebody down, unless they played perfecto up to that number. Darn you Roger!

Grand Game: Yay, pretty easy setup IMHO, seems like we've had ALOT of wins in S. 34 on this one folks!

Balance: Yes, another win for the newbie game! Woohoo!

Ten Chances: FOR THE 4TH GAME? When was the last time the Dob put this in 4th? I sure can't remember EVER seeing 10C in the 4th slot. Ya know, if she wouldn't have wasted a few guesses, I bet she would have hit pay dirt and won the car. Really, her guess wasn't that bad(for the car) once she figured out what the hell was going on!

Cliff Hangers: DA DOO DEE DOO DA DOO DEE(ah nevermind, Simon Cowell said I sounded teribble, rofl!). Very good playing, and another game that has seen quite a few wins this season. I guess the Dob wanted us all to forget about that Lucky Seven trick with all these easy games.

Squeezie: Grrrr! A game that hasn't seen many wins lately. Oh well!

Showcase: Difference of 884! Very well done, but missed the DSW. Another class act!

8 of 10 today on the scale, if it wouldn't been for that sleazy Dob and the 9 in Lucky Seven!

Today's show was quite enjoyable.

With a 9 as the last digit in Lucky $even, it was no surprise that it was lost. Also, the scene with Bob and the 5 $100 bills was funny.

Even though Ten Chances wasn't played well, the way Bob handled the situation made the game fun. Also, it was played fourth!

I'm still shocked that Roger would put one of the longer car games in the fourth slot. If I'm correct Line 'em Up, Lucky $even, Card Game, Pocket ˘hange and Cover Up are the only pure car games that have yet to be played fourth since last season(I'm STILL surprised Line 'em Up and Lucky $even hasn't been slotted fourth yet!). I don't expect 3 Strikes to be put there any time soon.

As soon as I saw the Mustang Convertible, I thought the Dob wanted the game won.  As soon as I saw the first four digits, I was sure he wanted it won.

I really enjoyed watching Ten Chances when Bob walked off the prop; then I laughed when she wrote her last price and wondered if she could actually be right! :-)

PG #1 - Mustang + L7 = forced loss.  With a price that involves back-to-back 6s and a 9 at the end, this game was headed for a major disaster.  But LOL for Bob pulling the wrong money out of his pocket!

PG #2 - Relatively easy today... considering I noticed that they used the big jug of cat litter today.

PG #3 - Shocked!  Shocked, I tell ya!  I thought for sure that bed was $5,112.

PG #4 - 10 Chances 4th!  Holy Dobkowitz, Batman!  :-P  :-P  :-P  And for anybody out there wondering if there really is a "10-second rule" in this game, ya got your answer today.  I don't know what Rita was thinking, trying to put down a price of $68,xxx.  And I don't blame Bob for attempting to walk off the stage during chance #10, which by itself must've lasted longer than at least three of today's other PGs.  Rita wins the "10 Chances Futility Award" of S34.

Showcases - I thought for sure that Yvette overbid that car showcase.  Shows what I know about SCs that involve bathtubs...

My bids - Car:  $24,535.  Random room:  $18,040.

Regardless of whether or not it was the first time it happened, it was a bit funny for Bob to have mixed up the $500 with the $7.

Speaking of Lucky $even, Yvette was a great contestant, very excited and enjoyable all throughout the show.

Still speaking of Lucky $even, remind me to ask Roger next Q&A why the board isn't placed correctly behind door number three anymore.

When was the last time Grand Game's light actually worked when the game was revealed?

Speaking of Grand Game, Joan was a great player too; and I'm really glad she managed to win.  I would have lost with the Tidy Cats.

Bob's explanation of Balance Game was somewhat confusing today.  Glad Brian managed to figure out what to do.

Speaking of Balance Game, remind me also to ask Roger why there's no Bob asking for the price to light up on the display.  It seems they only like to show it lit when the game is lost.

Wow, Ten Chances fourth, I know Roger's been crazy with car games fourth; but this is one I didn't see coming here.

Speaking of Ten Chances, as terribly as Rita did play it, I actually didn't get too mad over it.  Bob's playing fun along with it came off very enjoyable today, or maybe it was because Rita didn't win. :-P

Is it just my ears or my surround sound, or has the yodeling in Cliff Hangers been sounding more off-pitch or something lately?

I thought the blooper with Bob handing the wrong money was hilarious! I've never seen that happen before!

And I do agree with you about how Rita didn't play this game well. But I think the worst playing of 10 Chances ever was the one on May 2nd, where on the contestant's 9th chance, she kept using the 1 twice, and then on the 10th chance, she won, and Bob had to sit down.

Hey BRB had the words I forgot to put in my post: FORCED LOSS! Damn straight on that bro!

I thought it was about 5 years ago, or so, that L7 was played fourth? I believe it has been in darn near every slot. I know it has been 6th before for sure.

This was the most exciting Grand Game win I've seen in a while.  I really had no idea what the last right answer was.

I hate to say it, but Bob really screwed up the rule description for Balance Game.

God, I love car games fourth. (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

Ten Chances wasn't really too bad today.  It wasn't laugh-out-loud funny like some of the bad playings are, but it wasn't horrendous, either.  Bob must have been in a very, very good mood today to handle it the way he did.

Cliff Hangers was sort of hard...all three prizes were more expensive than they usually are.

I'm really glad Yvette won the Showcase...she got stuck with a really hard playing of Lucky $even.

On a Million Dollar Spectacular, yes, but certainly not on the daytime show.  In Seasons 27-33, there are only two shows where a car game is played fourth -- one early in Season 27 with Pathfinder, and one late in Season 33 with That's Too Much!.  In fact, before this year, the last time car games were played fourth on any kind of regular basis was 1976.

Steve, I was checking Joe's playlist (Going back to Season 24) from the old board. There were two pure car games that were played fourth that haven't been played fourth since last season: Cover Up and Card Game.

Best play of Ten Chances ever!

I was literaly yelling at the TV Today at how bad Rita was playing this.

Everyone knows that the prices end in zero, even if you don't realize that you gotta know that something isn't costing $509!

THe crowd was so loud you could see Bob clearing his ears out. Then when he started to walk off the set in frustration.. that was so classic.. this goes as one of the best losses I have ever seen on the show.

Then when she put the price of $68,000 for the car.. Bob's reations were great. The crowd was ready to charge the stage .. then she puts a zero as the fourth number in the car.. Bob was about to hit her...LOL..oh this was a great playing of the game.. I hate to say it but stupid people really do make this show more fun sometimes.. I love to see people win but I like these type of things too as they don't happen as often as they used to.

Bob summed it up well when he said at the end

"Rita.. good bye!"

LOL then it gets worse.. she passes on the car showcase and doesn't even win the golf cart she was then bidding for. That was just a disaster for her.  I haven't seen such a funny episode in a long time.

On a side note..yes Bob using the 5 $100 bills in Lucky Seven was a rare seen blooper. I was wondering why she looked so confused while Bob was asking her for money back..

Lucky Seven- BOOOOOOOOOOOO at Roger. That was low. Real low. That whole money thing was hilarious, though.

Ten Chances- Another eventful episode of As the Ten Chances Turns...

Showcase- Wow! I was almost certain that Yvette was over. Surprising.

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY- Yvette.

SHOW SUMMARY AND GRADE- Besides Yvette and Ten Chances, there wasn't really much else that happened. Still, those two made it a pretty good show... Grade: 3

Lucky Seven: All I can say is the 9 was evil. Yvette played the game okay.

Grand Game: At the time, I thought the Tidy Cats would do it. I just didn't think the Gold Bond would do it since it's Gold Bond. Now as I post, I'm thinking now that the litter was around $6.79 or something, causing my loss.

Balance Game: This is one of those times where I paid close attention to the balancing and not the actual pricing. If I could muster anything, it would've been 4112.

Ten Chances: This is one of those events where people got sore throats from shouting right and wrong guesses and groaning. I couldn't contain myself while shouting, laughing, and holding a hard-boiled egg at the same time. I almost walked away just like Bob did. What a game!

Cliff Hangers: So now it's a "meal maker"? I knew it had to be $50. Before the guessing: "Could it be a 29-39-50 combination?" Yes. "How did I know?!"

One Bid 6: I kinda lost track, but I had that feeling Matthew was in trouble. His last bid advantage gave me a subtle hint. Geez, it didn't work for him.

Squeeze Play: To me, it was between the 6 and 2 to go. My absolute best guess was to take the 6 out.

Speaking of Balance Game, remind me also to ask Roger why there's no Bob asking for the price to light up on the display.  It seems they only like to show it lit when the game is lost.

I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, but before the prize bag is placed on the scale, the display shows whatever the contestant has placed on the left side. In fact, when Bob places the three-digit bag on the scale, it starts off by displaying just those three digits. So if the contestant is right, the right price is already showing.

I was surprised to learn that the oval labels on each of the bags are actually made of fabric. And the gold-colored text is actually embroidered onto the fabric! I thought for sure that they were just cardboard, but nope -- much fancier!
