Show of the year candidate. Thrilled to finally get to  do a Switcheroo 5.

Safe to say that today's show has made the last 2 days look like crud! And if only Mary had listened to her sisters and not chickened out, it not only would've been a perfect show, but it also would've been the first win in Gas Money this season! Either way, it was a damn good show either way you slice it, especially with that amazing win by Yvette in Switcheroo!  xlx

I don't think Mary "chickened" out.  $9000 is a lot of money to risk for a 50-50 coin toss.  I would have done the same thing.  I totally agree with Adam here.  This is definitely a top 5 show for Season 52.  You had great wins, great contestants.  And to see a 5 in Switcheroo was awesome.

This is indeed the first five-prize win on Switcheroo in the Carey era. As Adam mentioned, the last such win happened on April 18, 2007, two months out from the end of Barker’s run. This is a highlight, not just for this season, but for Drew’s entire hosting tenure.

Also, an $11,000 winner on the Big Wheel and a big winner overall. I’d say that this episode is a dark horse candidate for episode of the year.

I've been waiting for a 5 for 5 Switcheroo outcome for a very long time.  So sweet for it to finally happen!

As mentioned, $9,000 is a smart bailout regardless of what could've been.  Had it been $6,000, I think for me it would depend on the car being offered (or whatever I won to get on stage).

This was a great show indeed. I knew the Kia Forte was $23,xxx, but would have considered bailing anyway because then I have to pay a lot of taxes on something I may not need at the moment. This may not technically have been a perfect show, but in my book, it was in that everybody who got up on stage won something big.

Not me. I believe in no guts, no glory. Right when I saw the car, I knew right away that I would've gone all the way without hesitation or abandon

Bob was looking down at this show with this Roo win. Drew was also channeling him during the price reveal of the Combos during Hi-Lo.

You're allowed to just forfeit the car and take the $10,000.

I don't know what else to say that can't be read in the recap or hasn't been mentioned here. Just an amazing show from start to finish.

Forget Drew, it's also a HD historic first (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/814505083391574027/1217570126098858125/vlcsnap-2024-03-13-15h28m43s501.png?ex=6604818b&is=65f20c8b&hm=9ec7b1e3e2f18ff6466b3d10c148b6bbaa66ca1c4a1cb00e253168fe41d57061&).

Also - the SC passing has gotten out of control. Connie said that was the car she always wanted then still passes it?!

Has there ever been an Episode that had a perfect show, Double Showcase Winner and also a $25,000 spin on the Wheel all in one Episode. That would of been a Trifecta show.

I quite enjoyed Drew's reaction to the perfect win in Switcheroo. Moments like that are what continue to make this show great.

No.  Fortunately it doesn't take close to all of that to produce an A+ show (or just an A).  Depends on what people enjoy, and for me, it's not always about winning.

We actually came close on Christmas Eve in 2021, but no outcomes of that nature to date

How many fives have there been? I want to say that this is the third one, but the second one was the first (and only?) time somebody got all five in the first 30 seconds, and Adam mentioned this didn't happen on the 2007 episode.

Since at least Season 29 ( the farthest I can see ) , there's been 9 5-prize Switcheroo wins , 5 were achieved on the contestant's 1st try , 4 on their 2nd try.
Also , it's Roo's 3rd win of the season , which ties it for the most in one season in the Drew Era.

The perfect Switcheroo playing was amazing for sure.

But it’s hard to believe we came one Gas Money pick short of a perfect show.

This is absurd... you can also claim the car then sell it.

True, although that assumes I can afford to even take possession of the car. How much taxes would I have to pay just to afford to be able to take possession of it? I'm not interested in burning a good chunk of my money on something I don't need right now (I don't even drive so would I even be allowed to take possession of it?). Not to mention, I think you have to pay taxes on the money alone.

Not to mention, I think you have to pay taxes on the money alone.

So basically, they've got you over a barrel, I take it-- you win a car, and you realize you owe taxes on it, as you would on any prize, so you hope to win $10K or even $25K to have possibly enough to pay those taxes. Little do you realize, you have to pay taxes on that money too, so you still may not have enough even with that to pay the taxes on the car, unless you won $25K on Punch-A-Bunch, $25K on the Wheel, and a car in the Showcase (that's how I'm understanding you here).

Everyone's situations are different.  If I'm in the spot, I'd either take it or leave it.  Probably due to need more than cost, but the latter is still a factor.

For me, the win is all that counts, since I don't need a car.  Still taxes are an unfortunate hinderance when it comes to prizes on TPIR
