Title: List of Winners?
Post by: dwayne washington on August 08, 2019, 04:34:40 PM
I'm trying to find a video of my aunt Peggy Lee Davis, we know she won in either 89, 90 or 92. Not sure what month. Where is the best place to search?

YouTube is your friend on this if not have you tried e-mailing archive@fremantle.com about getting a video of your aunt?

First of all, welcome to the board, Dwayne! Looking forward to your input on all things game shows.

To directly address your question, here's what I would do:

1) Golden-Road has a vast recap section where episodes of TPIR are summarized. Find it here (http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/board,7.0.html).

2) Run a search of "Peggy" using the search function in the upper right. (While "Davis" might be more uncommon, the recaps usually only have first names listed, so a "Davis" search might be of no use.)

3) Sift through the episodes that show up, and see if there's a match. You might be able to directly pinpoint the episode based on what pricing game she played, what she won, and things like that.

4) Once you find an episode, go over to the Price is Right Video Collection (http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/board,23.0.html) and run a search on that episode.

5) If there's a match, click on the YouTube link and watch the video.

If that's your aunt, congrats! If not, I would try contacting the Fremantle archives and see if they can help.

Narrowing down the date would be more helpful, but the best thing is let us know some pricing games that were on her show. Any prizes that she won would also be useful.

Good luck!

They need an air date, unfortunately.

I understand, but Flerbert on knowing what pricing games were played on the show she was won and if she won any prizes may be useful in narrowing down your search.

Thanks! I'm asking for that info now...

The first was to guess the price of a diamond necklace. She got on the stage.
She had to guess the price for 5 items, she won that.
She spun the wheel, got 85. Won.
She won the showcase and got a compact Mercury car, crytal and furniture.

That's all I know.

Were they grocery items, the kind you could find at a supermarket? There's a few games that could reasonably fit that description, but most likely she played Check-Out.

I just ran a search for "Peggy" and didn't find anything that looked like a match. I also did a search for "Mercury" and couldn't find any showcases with a Mercury in them that fit the description your provided. The G-R.net showcase database is pretty good, (shout out to Teddy for adding new shows all the time, he does phenomenal work!) but a lot of this is done by trading and viewing old VHS tapes, which are prone to breaking down and hard to distribute, and it's far from comprehensive unfortunately due to the sheer number of shows that exist. We just may not have it in there. :-(

Some private trader may have the episode in their collection, but unfortunately few TPIR traders catalog their episodes by contestant name or prizes won. If you're able to find a more exact date it aired, or remember some or all of the six pricing games that were played, we might have more of a point to work with.

Isn’t Peggy short for Margaret? Maybe search for that since they make you use your full first name.
