*Macsen pops in through a time portal, looking rather disheveled and panting* So, as of this update, it's been one month...three, now?...it's all muddied together by now...since I was granted my mod privileges back. My difficulties figuring out the modern recap template were, to say the least, vexing. Even Adam gave it a try, but they always recurred when I tried to add them to the site. For whatever reason, what works for them just isn't working for me. As I sat back for a while in frustration, it gave me time to look for something. Fix it up, if you will. So I was able to locate the First Four Wall of Shame. I found pictures of all the wallflowers since I ceded the post late in Season 40, and added them. You see, I don't have the budget to send contestants off on these trips to different places. And would you look what we have here. With the ongoing blue streak, we have Carmen and Benfus still in Contestant's Row. The last bid advantage has not helped Carmen at all today, though to be fair the bid on the exercise bike was not that bad. Let's see what happens to our two hapless friends. *Macsen ducks back in the time portal, which again almost closes on his tail* Sixth IUFB: 4pc purse set (Kate Spade; ARP: $1,092) (Rachel)
Same as it ever was. Carmen heads over to the mugshot machine, which is still being dusted of the cobwebs, but Benfus escapes! He is playing Balance Game for a trip to Sicily. (RT coach LA to Palermo then to Agrigento, 6n deluxe room Hotel Foresteria Baglio della Luna) (James)

We are really having difficulties with this one. I'm gonna go ahead and add a reply so people know there IS a recap now, and to explain things.
Lineup:
Switch?* - L
Plinko - PL ($2,600)
That's Too Much! - W
Coming or Going - L
Hole in One - L
Balance Game - L
(Hooray for a three-car game show!)
I like the new contestant's row. But the brightness of the illuminated borders almost overpower the readouts. I'm not sure how I feel about the big door frames as the light border at the opening. I get what they're going for, but it just looks kind of odd.
The Cullen mention in the Showcases with a freakin' clip was something that totally came out of nowhere. It's nice to see that version of the show be given some love by its younger sibling! And more interesting, I believe those clips are from the pilot or a very early episode of the series. The set, particularly Bill sitting at a desk, gives this away, whereas the February 21, 1957 episode in the DVD set has the standard set.
If you take away those god-awful, spinning dollar signs (seriously, does anyone actually like them??)
If you take away those god-awful, spinning dollar signs (seriously, does anyone actually like them??)Yes.
Yes - Bob did twice - in Spring of 1980, Bob mentioned that they would be adding a few new games and possibly one would debut the following day (most likely Barker's Bargain Bar followed soon after by Trader Bob). Also, in the Summer of 1983, they needed to promote the debut of The Phone Home Game in order to get viewers to send in post cards. Bob said the game would debut on Sept. 12th.
Has the show ever announced before that a new game would be debuting on a different episode?
Here's what i'd do with the doors motif at the opening....yes....get rid of the spinning dollar signs....but,have the doors close on the last contestant and use the doors as a transition to Drew coming out of the big doors...
I don't mind the idea, but I feel that it unfairly takes the focus away from the fourth contestant in lieu of more thrown on Drew Carey. But,just that spllt or so transition shot between the contestant and Drew walking out from the big doors
