Title: Madonna's TMDS #1: THE END (Rich, you're going to make everyone very "cross"!)
Post by: Madonna on May 09, 2006, 05:58:36 AM
*Maddy walks over to Rich, and exchanges a few words. Suddenly, Rich walks up on stage, and Maddy sits down at Rich's podium*

Rich: "Okay, Maddy. We need one last contestant...."

Maddy: "Uhhh... Well... How about ucb2912? Come on down! You're the next contestant on The Price Is Right!"

Rich: "You did that so well! You may be wondering why I’m up here. See, Maddy has been trying to quit smoking for months, and it hasn’t gone so well. I made her a bet that if she couldn’t go the entire show without a cigarette-"

Maddy: “Well, what else am I supposed to do with all of them?”

Rich: “Yeah, well, anyway… Since she lost the bet, I get to host a pricing game. And we all know that she went on a smoke break while we straightened things out from that mess after we called down our ‘first four contestants’. So, here I am, and there she is…So, isn’t there something you need to say?”

Maddy: “YOU were behind that stunt, weren’t you?!”

Rich: “No, wasn’t me…I swear.”

Maddy: “Well, if it wasn’t you… Must’ve been Bob.”

*Roger starts laughing* “Hey, you know what they say – Can’t Stop The Dob! Zinged ya!”

Maddy: “I should’ve known. He looks so innocent, but The Dob truly IS evil! You guys are making it so much easier to quit smoking… Really.”

Rich: “What are friends for? Now what do we have to bid on?”

Maddy: “It’s a new barrel sauna! Presenting the barrel sauna from the Almost Heaven line, a personal sauna by Great Lakes Home and Resort! This truly unique, free-standing sauna’s built from red cedar, and built with solid construction that can be used inside or out!”

Rich: "Thank you, Maddy. ucb, we'll start with you."

Before I bid, I was wondering... Madonna, what would happen if you would win the bet?

That said, I'll bid $4,850.

Honestly? I wanted to come up with a good reason to get Rich up on stage hosting, and my (half-hearted) attempts to quit smoking were the best reason that came to mind.. :P

You're up, Garvin.

I must admit, I am confused seeing a few old faces with new names since the switch...

Am I correct in assuming that Kourtney = pathfinder20?

You are correct in assuming that.  My real name is Kourtney Wilson but you can still call me by pathfinder20 or Kourtney.

Post by: Madonna on May 13, 2006, 05:37:16 AM
Thank you... I read that and honestly didn't know if you were bidding, or shouting suggestions from the audience...

Between the new forum software and name changes, I'm going to be running around in circles for months...

I guess that leaves Punchy to bid, if he's still around... Yes, I know it's been well past 24 hours, but I'll be a bit generous, just in case anyone or anything has been lost in the shuffle...

*taps her foot and looks around for Punchy*

(Edit) Punchy has been fun to have around and all that good stuff, but I need a bid. I'm now giving him 12 hours to enter a bid, otherwise we're moving on.

I know the dust still hasn't settled, but it's been his turn for a couple of days, plus I'm not sure I've seen him post at all since the move.

Rich: "I'm sorry, boys and girls, but we need to move on. There's no sign of Punchy, and the other three people in Contestant's Row aren't getting any younger.."

Maddy: "Yeah, unlike me. Seen that W spread yet? Wow. At this rate, imagine how great I'll look when I'm 70!"

ucb2912 $4,850
Garvin8r $4,995
Kourtney $4,996
Punchboard91 M.I.A.

Rich: "And the actual retail price is... $5,245. You win, Kourtney! Come join me up on stage..."

*Maddy starts to stand up*

Rich: "I said Kourney, not Madonna. Anyway, you got out of Contestant's Row just in time to play the last pricing game, and now Maddy over there has something to say..."

Maddy: *looks down at the podium and rolls her eyes* "Ohh, what the heck, you can have this one, Rich. Knock yourself out... Kourtney, you're about to play Plinko! For a chance to win up to $100,000 in cash!"

Rich: "$100,000 Plinko! And I get the pleasure of hosting it! Hey, Maddy, don't quit smoking, please! Anyway, we'll give you one Plinko chip, and a chance to win four more with these four prizes. Maddy?"

Maddy: "Make a pint of your favorite ice cream in this round ice cream sphere!"

Rich: "That ice cream sphere is not $59. Is the first number the 5, or is the last number the 9?"

"Yes, the 9 is right. You win that ice cream sphere, you win a chip. Next prize?"

Maddy: "This mailbox is durable and can be locked to protect your privacy. Finally, a better mailbox."

*audience laughs as they notice that the nametag on the mailbox, which had said "BARKER", has been replaced with one saying "CICCONE"*

Rich: "That's cute, Maddy. Though, why do you need a mailbox when you probably own your own post office? Anyway, the mailbox is not $27. The 2, or the 7?"

Rich: "Kourtney says 2..."

"And it's 2. Another prize, another chip. Maddy?"

Maddy: "It's Desperately Seeking Susan on DVD, starring The Queen Of Reinvention herself and that woman who inspired the Toto song 'Rosanna'." *audience chuckles*

Rich: "Does anybody get the feeling that someone is having a little trouble being out of the spotlight? First she puts a nametag saying 'CICCONE' on the mailbox, and now a DVD of a movie she's in? I suppose the next prize we'll offer will be her pointy-coned bustier..."

Rich: "Here comes the first Plinko chip... This one may be good.. Maybe... No, not quite.."

"But it is worth $1,000!" *dingdingding*

"And now here comes the next chip... This one looks like it'll fall into..."

"$500, for a total of $1,500." *dingding*

"And now here comes chip #3, heading toward the other side of the board..."

"And another $500, and you're now up to $2,000." *dingding*

"And here's the fourth chip.. Looking good... Looking good... Maybe....."

"Awww! A zero! Now, let's drop this last one into that big slot..."

"Here comes the last chip.. And it's heading into..."

*Rich starts to walk off the stage, but gets stopped by Maddy*

Maddy: "Hey, not bad, Rich. I'll tell you what. You stay up here for a few minutes, chat with the audience. Then I'll take over in time for the Showcase Showdown..."

Rich: "Great. Thanks!"

*Maddy walks out the back*

Rich: "Is Madonna back on her cigar kick again? You smell that? What the heck is she smoking back there?"

Roger: "I don't know, but it doesn't smell like a Cuban cigar to me. It smells like she IS smoking Cuba!"

*Maddy returns to the stage*

Maddy: "Let's give everyone a round of applause for that great hosting job by Rich! Now, it's time for the fourth Showcase Showdown..."

*someone walks up to Roger, whispering something to him while gesturing behind the big wheel*

Maddy: "With me, I have..."

Roger: "Hold on a minute. Can I have your attention for a second? I've just been told some very unpleasant news..."

"Apparently, someone here just confused the Plinko board with an ashtray." *gasps from the audience. Maddy stands there humming... "Burning Up"*

Maddy: "Rich! Didn't I tell you before to be more careful when you're smoking?!"

Rich: "Me?! I was on stage while that happened! Besides, there's only one person here who seems to enjoy smoking..."

Fingers: "How badly damaged is the set?"

Roger: "Well, uhh... We just ordered a very lovely brass urn. After all, Plinko does deserve to be properly laid to rest, doesn't it?"

*Maddy now starts humming "Burning Down The House"*

Stan: OH MY GOD! MADONNA KILLED PLINKO?!
Kyle: YOU therealcu2010!

Bob: "What are you trying to do to me?! You just destroyed Plinko?!"

Maddy: "There can be only NONE!"

Bob: "I can't believe you're a professional singer. You should be working over at the snack bar! The fans are going to kill me when they find out there's no more Plinko!"

Maddy: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just blame me. Seriously. The PMRC did. The Religious Right did. Just tell the fans that mean old Madonna did it. They'll go after me and leave you alone... Now, let's move on." *hums "Taps" for a few seconds*

Maddy: "As I was saying before that, uhhh, minor technical problem... It's time for the fourth Showcase Showdown! With me, I have shellgame69, I have Kourtney, and I have Army. We, of course, have still yet to give away $1,000,000, but hopefully it'll happen here. The closest to $1.00 without going over will go onto the final Showcase Showdown, which will take place right after this."

"Shellgame, you're up."

Enjoy that new car, and thank you for being here.

Kourntey, congratulations. You have moved onto the final Showcase Showdown, which will start... right now!

Here we have the four Showcase Showdown winners from earlier in the show: Kourtney, Alfonzo, Pathfinder2119, and Jordanar18.

The TWO of you closest to $1.00 without going over will move onto the Showcases. However, keep in mind, the seeding for the Showcases will still be based upon winnings, not your Showdown score. So, if you're in pretty good shape but in second place, there is nothing to gain out of spinning again to try to post the highest score...

If you get that $1.00, we'll still give you $1,000 and a million dollar bonus spin.

Kourtney, you're leading us off.

Okay, well, this is going to be a spinoff, AND a bonus spin. One spin each. $5,000 for a green section, $1,000,000 if you get that dollar... The two highest scores will move onto the Showcases.

I suspect that it isn't rigged.  Let's not throw around accusations lightly, please.

No, the wheel is not rigged. The spins are based upon a D-20 roll. Either I have three mindreaders up here, or things are just clicking right now...

Uhhh, I'll comment more in private message. But let me just say this: If I wanted to "rig" the wheel, why didn't I "rig" someone to win the million earlier so they could win $2,000,000, or rig a four-way bonus spin/spinoff?

I'm going to be open and up front about something, just for the sake of stifling any thoughts of rigging where this is concerned.

While I am quite fond of everyone on this forum, Alfonzo and I are what I'd consider to be pretty good friends. We have exchanged several emails back and forth and discussed things outside of The Price Is Right.

If I were going to rig this Showcase Showdown, why is it that the contestant I'm closest with here is the one sitting behind the producer's table, while the other three are still alive? Wouldn't I rig it so that, say, Alfonzo was in and someone else was out? Or even rig it so all FOUR contestants spun $1.00 and we were about to have a four player bonus spin/spinoff?

Better yet, as I said, why not have rigged a $1,000,000 winner from earlier so someone had a chance to max out in cash?

The wheel spins are based upon a D-20. I roll AFTER a contestant gives me a number. And, yes, on both Kourtney and Jordan's spins, I rolled 19 and 10, respectively. It's a 1 in 20 blind guess, and three contestants managed to guess right (though Pathy needed two spins). What was I supposed to do - rig one or two of them to 70 cents so it wouldn't look so funny?

As far as the Card Game setup, I had planned on posting notes and tidbits on all the games played after the Showcases conclude. I still intend to. We'll discuss that then.

I am upset over what you posted, and don't take kindly to being accused of dishonesty.

Thank you, Frank and Alfonzo. I am grateful for your support, your help, and for speaking up for me on this.

I think the accusation that ANY of us RIGS our online games is just horrible.  Many of us are friends here, and as such, I think we all go out of our way to make sure that there is NOTHING improper about game play.  As Madonna pointed out, had she wanted to rig it, she would have had the outcome different.  I do everything I can to make sure NOTHING is unfair.  I literally put people's names on paper, put it in a bowl, and draw them out RANDOMLY.  I do the same for the wheel, except that I assign random numbers from 1-20 for EVERY POSSIBLE SPIN PRIOR to getting numbers from people.  They are assigned prior to the show.

Shellgame, I'm sorry, but I think your accusation is WAY out of line.  That's the thing about random, sometimes it goes very mysterious.  Other times, even more so.

Just my two cents on this...
Title: Re: Madonna's TMDS #1 (Spinoff/bonus spin: Kourtney spins)
Post by: Madonna on May 23, 2006, 05:27:34 PM
Anything that needs to be done randomly I do either with a real D-20, with random.org, or in the case of Card Game, a real deck of cards (which was shuffled very well, and which was why Shellgame's system of thinking I put an ace under particular numbers DID NOT WORK).

Anything that was a genuine test of pricing/knowledge has been done with actual retail prices (obtained either from manufacturer's websites, or site like Best Buy or Amazon which give the actual retail price so customers know how much they're saving, or THE ACTUAL SHOW).

While there have been a few typos and a few grapical errors (ie. inverted Give Or Keep, accidentially keeping the $10,000 graphic on the first posting of the Plinko board), I have gone out of my way to make sure everything is accurate, fair and honest.

And here's two good reasons as to why:

1. My mother taught me NOT to lie or cheat. To do so would disrespect her memory, as far as I'm concerned.

2. Do unto others as you'd want done unto you. I wouldn't want anyone else hosting a game here to rig it while I was playing, so I'm not going to rig other people.

The bottom line is, there is a system, and just as the actual wheel sometimes manages to get "hot" (as Bob puts it), my little cyberwheel has done the same. Everyone spinning that wheel has a 1 in 20 shot of picking the right number, and it just so happens that it happened three times in the last day or so.

I really don't have much else to say on the matter. Thank you, Futuregsh.

While we're waiting for Kourtney to spin, now might really be a good time for a smoke - and a martini.

Before we head into the Showcases, I would like to ask if anyone would be willing to do a nifty recap when it's all said and done? If so, I will be eternally grateful.. :)

------------------------------------------------

Here we go! It's Showcase time on The Price Is Right, in our very own Battle Of The Pathfinders!

The top winner in the showcase is Pathfinder2119! And the runner up is Kourtney (nee Pathfinder20)!

Each of you will have a showcase of beautiful prizes to bid on, and the one of the closest to the actual retail price of their own showcase will win it! But if you are the winner, and $250 or less away from the actual retail price of your own showcase, we - along with Bill Gates - will have the pleasure of giving you both showcases!

Pathfinder2119, as the top winner, you can either decide if you want to bid on showcase #1, or pass it to Kourtney and bid on showcase #2...

And now with that squared away, let's see showcase #1!

Rich: “This showcase is inspired by April Fool’s, that day full of tricks! And you can buy plenty of gag gifts with $25,000 in cash!”

“And, you can go to a city famous for hat ‘tricks’, Montreal! You and a guest will fly roundtrip from Los Angeles to Montreal via Northwest Airlines World Vacations. You’ll each spend 7 nights in your own room at the Delta Montreal. We’ve also included a rental car, and travel protection plan.”

“And when you get home, you’ll have more chances to perform tricks on the water, with this pair of new watercraft! The Seadoo RTX watercraft seats up to three passengers, and has arm-stretching acceleration with a 215 horsepower engine and handling that’ll take you anywhere you want to go!”

“Lastly, don’t get too carried away playing tricks, because it wouldn’t be so funny to have someone tow away your boss’s new cars!”

“First, this Cadillac STS-V, which includes a 4.4 liter, supercharged V8 Northstar engine which delivers 469 horsepower, a six speed automatic transmission, 18 inch painted aluminum wheels, engine block heater, four wheel disc brakes, remote keyless entry and ignition, full leather seats with heated front seats, eight-way power driver’s seat, premium paint, 15 speaker surround sound Bose 5.1 sound system with AM/FM and 6-disc in-dash CD player, rear passenger A/V jacks, digital clock, and a power tilt-sliding sunroof!”

“Next, this Cadillac XLR-V, which includes a 4.4 liter, supercharged V8 Northstar engine which delivers 443 horsepower, six speed automatic transmission, 19 inch silver-painted aluminum wheels, full leather seats with built-in heating and cooling and integrated audio system, 8 way power driver’s seat, remote keyless entry and ignition, and steerable headlamps with built-in washers.”

“And this showcase, inspired by ‘tricks’, can be yours if the price is right!”

Pathy, are you a'biddin' or a'passin'?

Pathy bids $206,000... *ding*

And now Kourtney.. Take a look at your showcase!

Rich: “Your showcase pays tribute to the world’s oldest profession. And, we start your showcase with the hit movie about the world’s oldest profession – it’s Pretty Woman on DVD!”

*out walks Brandi, dressed like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman*

Maddy: “It’s not as good as Desperately Seeking Susan, but hey.. At least it’s not Ishtar…”

Rich: “And, like our dear 'Vivian', you too can walk the street in style in your own thigh-high boots! These black-patent vinyl thigh-high boots have 5 inch spiked heels and are guaranteed to get you noticed!”

Maddy: “Uhhh, I think we can get them in your size.. Not that I know anyone who wears them anyway” *looks down at her own legs* “Uhh, let’s move on…”

Rich: “Oh, dear. 'Vivian' got a scuff mark on her boot. But she can fix them up in a hurry, with these new magic markers!”

Maddy: “Whew, thank goodness! Her boots are shiny once again.. Uhh, what’s next?”

Rich: “Working the streets can get you in trouble, so we offer you a supply of Get Out Of Jail Free cards! This set of 20 Get Out Of Jail Free cards won’t get you out of the iron bar hotel, but they’ll certainly bring plenty of laughs!”

Maddy: “Oh, dear… I’m not sure Standards & Practices is thrilled… Go on, Rich.”

Rich: “And, finally, you and your ‘boss’ can ride in style, in this 1986 Monte Carlo! This ‘tricked-out’ Monte Carlo comes complete with wide rims, fur-covered seats, metallic purple paint job with ‘Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy’ painted on the trunk!”

“And unlike poor 'Vivian'” *‘Vivian’ tries to come onto Bob, who whips out a badge and slaps a handcuff on her wrist*, “You’re won’t be on your way to jail if the price is right!”

Alright, Kourtney! That is your showcase! What do you bid?!

Well, you know Kourtney, that was all we could offer you. We ran out of money. The checks bounced. Sorry...

Now, Kourtney's bid is $1,985, and.... Hahahahaha!

Oh, come on. Did you REALLY think we'd offer you that junk? April Fool's (a bit late, but still).. That's not your showcase. We wouldn't wish that stuff upon anyone, well, except...

*Maddy walks over to Brandi, examines the boots* Please box them back up and leave those in my dressing room after the show. Thanks!

Now, Rich... We played a joke on Kourtney here...

Rich (still looking quite shocked at the "showcase" he just described): "We sure did, Madge."

Maddy: "Now, I know we really have something nice for Kourtney, don't we?"

Rich: "As a matter of fact, we do... Two new sportscars! These Ford GT’s come with a 5.4 liter 550 horsepower engine, 6 speed manual transmissions, McIntosh Audiophile sound system with in-dash single CD player, and painted forged aluminum wheels.”

“And this showcase, featuring two sports car, and not a little trouble, CAN be yours if the price is right!”

There you go, Kourtney... Isn't that much better? What do you bid on your showcase?

(And, yes, you're just bidding on the GT's, not the previous "showcase")

I had this planned out all along... One of my all-time favorite TPIR moments was the 1983 April Fool's showcase. But I thought "A 'home decorating tips' showcase where everything gets destroy? Already did that..."

But the most politically incorrect showcase ever? Ah-hah! Perfect! Especially with it being such a cheap "showcase" after all the previous goodies offered...

Throw in the "tricks" themed showcase beforehand (so the person bidding on showcase #2 would let their guard down), then boom! Lay the real trick on them...

(And, no, I couldn't even begin to guess what that "showcase" was worth, haha)...

But, yes, this was always part of the plan..

And Kourtney has given us a bid of $285,000 *ding*

---------------------------------

Kourtney, you bid $285,000 on your showcase. The actual retail price of your showcase is.... $306,690, for a difference of... $21,690.

Pathy, you must be closer to the actual retail price of your showcase to win. And the actual retail price of your showcase is.... $228,824, for a difference of... $22,824.

Kourtney, you win! You have won a grand total of $315,536 in cash and prizes! Go on over there and take a look at your new automobiles!

Pathy, thank you for being on the show!

This is Madonna, reminding you to help control the pest population: Have a Federline spayed or neutered. Goodnight everybody!

Rich (while strapped to a 20 foot mirrored crucifix): "This is Rich Fields, speaking for The Price Is Right! A Mark Goodson Television Production. Don't stay tuned for Madonna live from the Confessions Tour on these CBS stations - it's too damned hot and controversial for network television!"

I will add my thoughts later tonight, but in the meantime, here is the list of contestants and their winnings from our debut extravaganza:

Frank: Of course you were a part of it.. And 20 years from now, you'll be the answer to a trivia question: Who was the first contestant to win their way up on stage in one of my shows...

Let's hope you get better luck in the second.

Garvin: I am glad you enjoyed it.. I think I succeeded in my goal of breaking Billy's bank..

And, thank you for letting Rich down... I can't believe that slipped my mind.. Sorry, Rich!

I do welcome comments, suggestions or any thoughts any of you have on my first effort. In the meantime, I will share what was going through my warped little mind throughout the production of this show...

First four calldown: I had always wanted to see Bob or anyone else called down as a joke, so I figured, why not? Then, for the heck of it, decided to add Ken Jennings to the list - after all, you'd have to imagine he's the last person The Dob would want to see on Contestant's Row!

Golden Road: How can you not launch a TMDS without this game? Honestly, I was quite worried the second prize was way too easy, and quite shocked when Frank went for the 0... Ouch. Sorry about that.

And, for any of you who are curious, the Vipers came to $172,890...

1/2 Off: I probably should've kept 10 and 13 (as opposed to 10 and 14) as the last two boxes to make things a little more challenging.. But, regardless, Sternal now goes down as the first contestant to win a pricing game on one of my shows...

IUFB #3: Handling it the way I did was not an easy decision, but under the circumstances, there would've been problems keeping GB in the game. I know a few people were quite stumped that I'd toss that IUFB, but GB gave a perfect bid, and had I left it, I could just picture some very angry contestants over the fact Fireball would've come down, inheritated GB's perfect bid and "won his way on stage by doing nothing". I did what I thought was fair for everyone involved. :-?

The Bullseye/Money Game prank: We've had April Fool's showcases, why not an April Fool's pricing game? And what better game to freak someone out than Bullseye I?

I never gave a range because Bullseye was never intended to be played, obviously... It was a prop used for a joke. Had Alfonzo guessed the price right, I would've awarded to him, but that was not something I wanted to see happen. :-P

Alfonzo, again, thanks for your great sense of humor. :)

Bonus Game: Hopefully Fireball isn't upset still, nor stabbing needles into a Maddy voodoo doll. That was a huge disappointment for me to watch unfold, considering that Fireball is always the one to chime in with "Yay! Bonus Game!" everytime it's played on TV... Sorry, Fireball. I hope that didn't ruin your love for the game...

Hole In One: Now, you just know I had to play this game, between my love for it, my love of golf in general, and Happy Gilmore.. And, obvously, extra motivation that I could toss in a few Happy Gilmore quotes during its playing.

Hurdles: Well, I warned everyone there'd be retired games, and how could I not make use of my favorite retired pricing game in my debut show?

Triple Play: I admit, I cringed when Rob won his way up on stage for this one. Why? Because I knew if he got past the Ram, he had a very easy win.. The first pricing game I ever won on G-R.net was Lucky Seven for that exact same Corvette in one of Rob's shows.

The Ram, though, I did set up to be tough... Any of those three prices for it looked reasonable.. Rob picked the right one, and that was all she wrote.

Give Or Keep: Well, I had figured while "scripting" the show (picking prizes and games to use) to go with two retired games.. I figured Give Or Keep would be easier to handle than Super Ball - minor graphics error aside...

Punchboard: While Pathy was a great contestant and a lot of fun, I'm not going to lie: I was secretly hoping Punchy would win his way up for that game, for obvious reasons...

At first, I considered randomly setting the board, but thought better of it. But, there were a few numbers I couldn't use for the $50,000 slips because it'd be too bloody obvious: 3 (Dale Earnhardt), 9 (Reggie Jackson), 10 (already used that for 1/2 Off), 13 (Kurt Warner/Madonna's favorite number), 28 (Marshall Faulk) and 44 (Jackson/Jerry West)...

So, it dawned on me: Ah-hah! 80's Dodgers... Couldn't do 55 (Hershiser), because there aren't 55 holes.. So I picked 34 (Fernando Valenzuela)... and 23 (Kirk Gibson).

Needless to say, I was quite shocked when Pathy picked 23... Any particular reason you went with that hole?

As for Wink and The Dragon, well.. That should be obvious. :-P

Safe Crackers" Always loved this game myself.. Probably should've made it a little harder, but no regrets.. I wanted it played, and it was played.

Card Game: I am sure Shellgame hates me for this game (and other things), and thinks the playing of this game is "proof" of rigging...

First off, Shelly tried way too hard to pick particular numbers, thinking I set the deck myself and picked where to put aces. No. I literally shuffled a deck of cards, and each time Shelly picked a number, I counted out cards, flipped out the card he/she picked, posted the image of it and changed the graphic (the bid)..

Second, I wanted to see the game actually played.. Not 3-4 cards drawn and seeing the contestant stop... I figured there's 52 cards in that deck, let's actually make use of some of them!

Third, this game was set up as a test.. We all gripe in the recaps about contestants bailing out too soon. I wanted to set this game up in a way to see if the person playing it would bail out as well, or keep playing... :-?

Plinko: I am sure everyone wondered what the heck I was doing playing THIS game, considering I'm not a big fan of it.. Of course, you all saw why before the fourth Showcase Showdown... Needless to say, Plinko has been retired from my shows.

Showcase Showdown controversy: All I'm going to say here is none of these spins were rigged, and I don't feel an apology is unreasonable.

Showcases: Two things here...

1. I wanted to break the bank and offer the two most expensive showcases in history, plain and simple. And I'd say I did that, considering both showcases combined were over $535,000...

2. I hope nobody read anything into my use of Brandi with the "Most politically incorrect showcase ever". I wasn't implying anything by putting her in that role, I did it because she has a slight resemblence to Julia Roberts, and therefore I felt she would work the best for such a showcase. Between offering Pretty Woman on DVD, the boots, and coloring over scuff marks on them, she popped into my head to model the showcase because of that resemblence...

Lastly, this was supposed to be fun, and I hope it was fun.. I wanted some fun playings, some excitement, and obviously some laughs.. There was never any intention to screw anyone, rig anything or offend anyone.

I do hope you guys enjoyed it, and please feel free to share your thoughts.

Great show Maddy! Your expensive prizes, good jokes, and the wild antics made this the best TPIR show on the net! When's the next show? Cant wait for it.

Hope you keep hosting until the end of time (or at least the end of the forums)!

I have really enjoyed the show, Madonna.  I hope to do another one sometimes in the future.  (runs to the set of Ford GTs)  I would never thought I will be the winner of a 300K+ showcase!!
(Now what how in the world I am going to pay my insurance bill? :-? )

I know, Madoona.  I got in over my head and accused you for seeting the ARP too high and blaming you for thinking the wheel was rigged.  Sorry for the accusations.

Thank you for the apology, Shelly, and it is accepted..

As far as the ARP on your car, as well as any other car I used on the show: I loaded them to hell and back with options. I went to the car company's websites, selected "build your own" and stuck every option on that I could - hence why you played for a $37,000 Durano when the base price is around $27,000-$28,000...

I felt with the kind of prizes and money being thrown around (ie. 9 car games and 3 cash games), what fun would it be to play for "base" cars or a couple options?

Again, I am grateful for the apology. Thank you. :)

Despite that horrid Bonus Game wipeout, I had a great time on your show and watching your show.

I am glad you enjoyed it, Fireball. :) I am also glad that wipeout didn't ruin your enjoyment of Bonus Game...

I'll go off on a rant about Paramount's greed when it comes to Star Trek (which of course the prize next to the "Bonus" window), but I'll spare everyone.. Let's just say out of the classic TV shows I'm such a fanatic over, Star Trek on DVD is far more expensive than any of the others, and Paramount hasn't made too many friends over it...

(In fact: ARP of one season of Star Trek on DVD: $130.. ARP of all THREE seasons of Wonder Woman on DVD: $120. Isn't there something wrong with that picture?)

But, I am glad you had fun. I wanted it to be a fun, wacky show, win or lose.. :)

Thank you, ucb! I am glad you had fun as well.. :)

I'm hoping to start the next show in a month or so. Depends on how hectic things are. Summer sometimes can get a little crazy, and this summer is going to kick off with a wild night in just eight days...

But, there will be more in the future. In fact, I already have the theme for show #2 in my head, it's just a matter of getting everything ready to go..

Though, as far as future 12 game/5 Showcase Showdown shows? Once, maybe twice a year at most. They do take a lot of work to setup and run. But I'll certainly do some "standard" 6 pricing game shows in the meantime...

I don't think anyone has ever offered a $300,000+ showcase before.. Isn't history fun?  :-D

As for the insurance, not sure I can help you there..

Glad you had fun, though..

Deb. you know I had a blast! :-D

I nearly dropped a brick when I saw I had to play Bulseye I. BEST PLAY ALONG PRANK EVER!!!!!

I still can believe I beat Frank in the Showcase Showdown with a dollar by using '80s song references.

Lots of fun, and I definitely can't wait for the next one!

I am glad you had a blast, and thank you for having so much fun with my prank...

Believe me, when you won your way up for the third game, I sat here laughing my butt off.. I was already thrilled over the Bullseye joke, but when you won your way up? "Holy cow, I get to pull this joke on Alfonzo! YES!"

Never underestimate the power of the 80's..  :-D

Wow...two big ones a year?  I only have the time to run two regular ones a year.  Impressive.  :-)

Not that I can recall here, but I know that Net Price is Right offered a few.

Oh, and in case anyone is curious...the answer to the trivia question of who first played a game on my shows is CrimsonViper, who (two years ago) played Golden Road on my MDS for, amazingly enough, a red Viper.  Just like you when Alfonzo came up for Bullseye, Madonna, I could not believe it.  (He did not win, sadly.)

Now to work an another show that will compare to this show... (My first one was fairly ambitious, but I've gradually lost my author's touch as the years went by.)

Speaking of first contestants, I don't know if you remember, Army, but you were the first contestant to play a game on my first show.  It wasn't Golden Road, though.  Still haven't touched that game yet.

Yes, I remember.  I just didn't say because I wasn't 100% sure that that was Ep. 1.

Ah, those were the days...back when I was winning PG's... :-)

Thank you for making me feel old and nostalgic.  At least that has kept my dream of having the exact coincidence play out on the actual show, if I choose to attend, alive.

Ah well, the good old days when offering a Viper was exciting.  Now it seems that everybody is doing it... (and yes, I'm not exempt from that fact either, but I do have a right to do so! ;-))

Well, at least one a year.. I'll have to see how I'm feeling about two big shows a year in the future... But there will be more, that I can promise you. :)

Some of these ideas I've had for months, even years, before finally getting them a run.. The 12 pricing game/5 Showcase Showdown idea goes back years, and I figured it'd be a unique way to run my first show on here.

I do look forward to seeing your ideas. :)

I never kept up with them the way I should've, but from I saw, they disregarded the "budget" about as much as I do.. Why not? The budget here is about as real as my kill total on Grand Theft Auto...

We all have stretches like that (look no further than my blog so far here in 2006). I am sure it will come back. :)

Hehe... I am rather fond of Vipers myself. But I must admit that seeing so many Vipers offered in the shows here motivated me to try something a little different - hence offering TWO Vipers...

And all this time, I thought you just took the idea from me since I was doing a 9 game show at the time.  :-)

Seriously, reading thru the two separate posts on here and the old board, that was one heck-of-a show you put on there, and I applaud your wonderful efforts. *applauds*

Thank you. :)

No, I'd had the idea bouncing around in my head years before discovering this forum. But, believe me, I chuckled over your nine pricing game show.. "Ohhh, I'm not the only one with an idea on how to host an episode with more than six games, huh?"

I did enjoy your show, though. That was a rather unique twist, and I do enjoy seeing hosts who do unique things or put their own spin on the show.
