Just curious - What do you like to watch on TV other than TPIR? Right now, I am known for keeping up with Heroes, The Simpsons, & Family Guy, and I sometimes watch Live With Regis & Kelly. How about you?
-
I like The Simpsons, Family Guy and Three's Company.
-
Well, you'll see that my taste is a bit weird...
I love animated comedies, a lot! Simpsons, of course, also Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad is ok. There is also a show I discovered this year, called Code Monkeys. It's on G4, they just finished the second season! Try to find the DVD (or download the episodes or something), it's about a game programing company in the 80s, and the animation is rendered like an 8-bit videogame! Very funny, a nice stoner-type of humor.
I also love sitcoms, classic ones like Friends, The 70s Show, Seinfeld, Newsradio, Arrested Developement, and a nice Canadian one called Little Mosque On The Prairies.
I don't like reality shows, except for one : Jon & Kate Plus 8. My wife was watching this, and I got hooked into it! Those kids are so cute!
-
For game shows, my second-favorite game show is Jeopardy!. That's another show I would love to be a contestant on.
I love sitcoms, too- from the classics like Seinfeld, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement, to more recent ones, like Two and a Half Men (although we might as well consider that "classic" :D ), How I Met Your Mother, and The Big Bang Theory. And, of course, who can forget The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?
I'm not a big fan of the whole "reality/competition" genre, although I do like The Amazing Race and America's Got Talent.
And, believe it or not, I also enjoy courtroom shows. And CNBC. Dunno why. :D
-

For me, it's sports and Forensic Files. Deadliest Catch
Scrubs
Reruns/DVD: JAG (Got the 1st seven seasons on DVD--that was a great show)

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
The Late Show with David Letterman
The Big Bang Theory

Eh, what's up, Doc? My choices would be classic game shows (examples: Card Sharks, Family Feud and Password Plus), classic cartoons (examples: Looney Tunes and Yogi Bear), family comedies (example: Hannah Montana) and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Th-th-th-that's all Folks!

-
It's a short list
Hell's Kitchen
Kitchen Nightmares
Two and a Half Men
Big Bang Theory
WWE RAW
-
I don't watch any of the current network primetime fare. There are lots of shows from 70's to 90's I like. I like some 50's and 60's shows as well. It's so hard to pick my favorites because I hve a lot, so I'll just pick as the ones I enjoy most are:
The Jeffersons, Night Court, WKRP in CIncinnati, Three's Company, Reba, Sanford and Son, The Incredible Hulk, WWE RAW, Knight Rider (classic), and I Love Lucy.
-
House, Ace of Cakes, Mythbusters, the Amazing Race, Pardon the Interruption...that's about all I make time to watch/tape (appointment TV). I generally have the TV on for noise a lot of the time so it's whatever else is on. A fair bit of GSN though.
I'm currently deep into Top Gear. The BBC2 stuff, not the edited for US/NA tv stuff. Watched an ep of TG: Australia but not totally digging it yet.
Used to watch a LOT more than that though, heh.
-
Presently Monk's at the top of the present list--as it's pretty much been since its inception--with Numb3rs and Psych not that far behind.
From years past, favorites include Taxi, Get Smart, Alf (I do recall Bob plugging the episode featuring the Ochmonek's dog "Bob Barker"), Due South, The Greatest American Hero, SCTV, Sledge Hammer (!), and The Commish.
-
THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, Good Eats, That 70's Show, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, MythBusters, King of the Hill, Family Guy, How I met Your Mother, and Knight Rider.
-
The Simpsons and King of the Hill are my current favorites. My all-time favorite is CHiPs.
-
Besides TPiR, there are only a handful of shows currently running with new episodes that I enjoy such as Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Wheel of Fortune, and Pokemon.
I LOVE all of the Star Trek series, as well as the classic original seasons of Power Rangers. I also love a lot of 90s animation such as Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, The Powerpuff Girls, Animaniacs as well as the entire DCAU (Direct Comics Animated Universe) of Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond and both Justice League shows. My favorite classic gameshows other than TPiR and Wheel include Scrabble, Classic Concentration and all non-Osmond incarnations of Pyramid. I also like some of the "clean" mystery shows like Murder, She Wrote and Matlock.
Going back, I also count several 60s sitcoms among my favorites: Get Smart, Hogan's Heroes, Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle. Finally, my girlfriend has got me interested in the Gordon Ramsey shows and both Buffy and Angel.
-
I'm not going to try to remember every great show ever... probably take me a while to remember everything I should list. Current stuff I enjoy a whole, whole lot is easy, though.
Gossip Girl
Privileged
Psych
30 Rock
Total Drama Island
The Young and the Restless
-
I'll stick with the current stuff too (too many old shows to mention).
The View (when TPiR is a repeat)
Ellen
Family Feud
Letterman
Leno (when Letterman is a rerun)
Conan
Craig Ferguson (when Conan is a rerun)

The Simpsons
Family Guy
The whole CBS Monday night lineup (LEGENDARY!)
The New Adventures of Old Christine
Gary Unmarried
My Name is Earl
30 Rock
The Office
Saturday Night Live
Oh God I watch way too much TV. But believe it or not, I do have an active social life.
-
Oh, forgot one! When I come home from work, TLC usually has 2 episodes of Take Home Chef, which I really like! Any cooking show I really like!
-
Family Guy
Dr. G
Law and Order
Boston Legal
LA Law (early years)
Biggest Loser (keeps me going to the gym)
and believe it or not The Joy of Music

So do I. I like the Wednesday comedy hour on CBS, too. :D
And, of course, I forgot one of my other favorite shows. Hockey. :D
Oh I forgot about the Wednesday comedy hour. Especially Old Christine!
Edit: I watch the Biggest Loser too, although I'm not too happy with some of the finalists this season.
-

Total Drama Island
Yay! Good ol' Total Drama Island... I'd venture to say it's the best piece of animation Canada has produce this century. Looking forward to the second season premiere, Total Drama Action, next Sunday on Teletoon. How nice to be getting it first. :)
Aside from the Total Drama, I spend my days watching Price and Jeopardy!. If only there were more good game shows on television... or that I had GSn.
-
* Boston Legal
* Eli Stone
* Medium
* Cold Case (the drama on CBS, not the documentary on A&E)
* CSI: Miami
* Law & Order: SVU
Unfortunately, my first two shows have been canceled this season!!!
-

Let me add: How It's Made on the Discovery channel.
What's My Line on gsn. On these days. I use to watch To Tell The Truth AND What's My Line when I was a kid.
In the afternoon version of TTTT, Kermit the Frog is a panelist temporarily. Granted, this version of TTTT was originally being produced in 2000-2001, but lucky for me they are airing these days in syndication. *side note: what would you give if KTF was a CONTESTANT on TTTTpm instead of a PANELIST?   They would have to produce 2 additional frogs, and the panelists job would be to figure out which puppeteer worked on Sesame Street.
So now 3 of the 4 panelists are among my favorite personalities: Meshach Taylor, Paula Poundstone, Kermit the Frog. In the 4 spot they rotate, like someone from Baywatch, but never been anyone I liked. Kitty Carlisle was in the 3 spot one day.

The A&E show is actually called "Cold Case File", just thought I'd let you know. And Boston legally wasn't "cancelled", it was a planned ending to the show...but Eli Stone was indeed cancelled.

When the network decides not to renew a show the next season, what do you call it?

Thats no where near old school in my book.

What would you think is old school, if what I listed is not, in your opinion, old school? I always thought that the '80's (a lot of that decade, anyway) was old school. Nothing against your opinion-- just asking.

I love 1950's US television and probably UK to if it existed in the same means as the many US shows to.
For example Dragnet, The Phil Silvers Show, The Honeymooners and the many game-shows.
I wish UK television was so intact from the time period.
-
Here in the States we get The Honeymooners on Sunday nights on WGN America. Great television program.
-
Nick, I hate you :P.
Thats no where near old school in my book.
Those shows not being even near old school would be akin to claiming that Plinko is not even close to being a classic pricing game.

The question is now what would you give if Kermit the Frog and Oscar the Grouch on the same episode of a game show these days.
There was a funny moment on today's airing. It was Kermit's time to ask questions. He asked a question to #2. Apparently, contestant #2 could not understand kermit. Because she said "you know what, I don't understand FROG language. Say again?" Then Kermit repeated, saying "blahblah RIBBIT RIBBIT" and so on.
#2 was number 1's sister.
When it was Meshach's turn to reveal his answer, he made a comment about Kermit's inability to speak english.
Back to the topic, there's another show I watch every weekday I never posted here in this thread: Shepherd's Chapel on MYTV. It's a series where either Arnold Murray or Dennis Murray, relationship unknown by me, usually sits down and gives a sermon then reads letters of questions by viewers. In this format, the pastor sits behind a desk in a room like chambers. Sometimes however they preach at the pulpit in front of apparently an audience/congregation (they never ever show the audience but sometimes they are heard.) Only downside of that format is the pastors' ages are inconsistent. Sometimes the pastors are in their twenties or 30s, sometimes the older one is elderly. The other thing is the continuity does not happen, regarding the segue into the q/a format.
