The Switcheroo bonus was not well explained at all.
22
I forgot about the live chat because I was watching Jeopardy Masters. I remember looking at my DVR and saying oh peas. Granted this game was not that good, it was funny to see him mentioning the water bottle and that being correct. Of course we know he does not practice during the rehearsal games so it definitely a coincidence which just makes the moment even more special.

Helen will be back for the Showcase Showdown after we play some more.

Bob thinks the next calldown, William, looks like a Sergeant Major in the British Army. He's not. He's just a truck driver. In the British Army? No way! He actually is English, but from right here. He did come from Wyoming, but now he lives in a place called Westminster. :P

I thought tonight's episode was okay.  Not tremendous or even good, but not horrible either.  Probably goes with one's feeling where it's been a long (and decent) TV year, and I'm ready for summer.

Line was fine.  A minimum guarantee of $2,500 is sweet even in 2024.  People still jump for joy winning half of that somewhere.

Didn't care at all for the Switcheroo gimmick.  Sure it's an increase in a game where the non-car prizes aren't much different than in the past, but as mentioned in chat, no time for that extra going forward.  One time thing, and I'm okay with that

1. And our story begins with Johnny opening for business!

"My mother always told me to move to California, and you'll clean up! But this dusting is getting me down! Oh, hello there! (to Holly) You look worried! Perhaps I can help you!"
"Johnny, I am a frustrated health nut. All I do all day is dream about nuts and fruit. Do my dreams mean anything?"
"Well, I can't speak for the nuts, but I do foresee some fruit, like a big apple! But it's not the edible kind! It's a trip to the Big Apple, New York City!" (Janice)

- Fly with a guest round-trip air coach from L.A. to NYC for a 6-night stay at the Hotel Lexington, enjoying a lovely room with a beautiful view of midtown Manhattan, located near top 5th Avenue shops

2. "Business looks good today! The rest of you, take a number! This young lady (Dian) is next."
"Oh, Johnny! My life is really in such a rut! My life has become so dull, boy is that the truth. Are there any bright moments left for me?"
"No, Dian! There are no bright moments in your immediate future, but I'm running a special today! And instead of bright moments, I'm featuring bright lights, like the city lights of Paris!" (Holly)

- Fly from NYC to Paris for a 6-night stay at the Paris-Sheraton Hotel with a view of Notre-Dame, Arc de Triomphe, and other sights of the city of light

3. "You're next! Have a seat!" (Janice)
"Oh, Johnny! I'm so depressed! I mean, I used to get a real boot out of life, but lately things have been so..." (her last word is unclear)
"Oh, I know what you mean! But look! Your future is changing! I even see another boot in your future, and this one looks like Italy! (Dian)

- Fly from Paris to Rome for a 6-night stay with continental breakfast at the Hotel Mediterraneo right in the centre of Rome, enjoying a large elegantly decorated room with refrigerated bar and modern marble bath

4. "Holly, you're back! What happened?"
"Well, John-" (she nearly knocks his crystal)
"Don't do that, Holly! You'll bust my bundle, here!"
"Sorry about that. Well, John, I've got a bigger problem than my dreams. It's my cheap date! All these guys want me to go Dutch!"
"Holly, my dear! My crystal may not help you. All it shows is another Dutch treat, but this one has a twist. It's a Dutch treat in Holland!" (Janice)

Re: Wayoshi’s comments on repeating digits. I agree that Line em Up and Switcheroo were absolutely set up to be won. Seriously, $88,980? Really? Does that sound right to you?

Had Devin made the final switch in Switcheroo, we would’ve had two contestants in the span of four months achieve perfection in the game after a 17-year drought.
29
We have a special week this week: a double jackpot wedge.

The jackpot starts at $8,000 and goes up on the dollar amounts the contestants spin in the main game.   There's Double Jackpot wedges on the wheel.   If you are in control of the Double Jackpot Wedge and make it to Bonus Land, that wedge will be in play.   If you manage to solve the Bonus puzzle, you win double the jackpot from the main game from all those spins, plus whatever is in said envelope.

This was an absolute dud, understandable that they buried this one. Awkward lineup, very lame gimmick bonus. They set games up well except for Balance, but the contestants did not care about repeating digits at all tonight in the car games.
