Yeah, it was. Anyway, today's show was alright. I mean Switcheroo was a bit hard, but it easily could have been won. Ida stopped too early in Range Game. She probably didn't think it was alot over $10,000. I loved how Darren didn't even look to the audience for help. He did that so quick, good for him.

I knew that D.C. was the obvious choice, but I didn't expect for the trip to New Orleans to be so expensive! Now or Then was a gimme today, and Joanna did good. She was very excited. I had a feeling the van was $19,834 and I was right.

I was impressed to see three perfect bids today, and Evan, Joanna, and Michaela bid way too low on the hammock today.

Cool to see the credit roll...and this amazing show!  *3* $500 wads, Darren's crazy antics, and that very nice intro by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) really made this show very awesome.

I know this is a very delayed show, but where it was placed continued the show's current extremely hot streak...lots of bonus money won on the wheel, the 2 DSW's last week, and now 3 $500 wads starting this week.  Just think...if this would have happened early in the run (think pre-IUFB bonuses), the show would have saved a LOT of money with no wheel bonuses, DSW's, or perfect bid bonuses.  Wow.

I actually wondered about the credit roll too! How come they decided to do one for this particular show? The other unusual thing I noticed was at the end of the first SCSD, it cut away right after Bob said "You'll be in the Showcase at the end of the show," with no announcement or ticket plug.

Switcheroo: Too bad it was lost. For me, the car was a tossup between $18,615 and $18,625, with me leaning towards the one first. But then, I remembered the day from May 2005 with a perfect Switcheroo win, and sort of remembered the price of that same car was $18,635, but I wasn't positive. Well, as it turned out, it was the latter of the three choices. I'm surprised the rice cooker was so cheap.

IUFB2: After all that, I thought the person at the end had the $500 bonus. Imagine what Bob's reaction would have been.

Range Game: Fairly easy, but she should not have stopped it THAT early.

Easy as 1-2-3: Very tricky. I didn't know a range would be pretty expensive (unless, of course, it was made by Heartland). Darren's good luck strategy of taking off his shoes during that time worked!

One Right Price: So THIS is where the said trip shows up. I'm surprised it was that expensive, and nice to see bouncy Dorothy win!

IUFB5: The THIRD perfect bid of the day?!? Nice!

Now or Then: Pretty easy.

IUFB6: Well, so much for setting a new perfect bids record...

One Away: Easy for those who knew it was $19,834, hard for those who don't.

Showcases: Neither one bid very well on their showcase, so I didn't even bother watching the final segment, given the way the producers have been handling the showcase price reveals over the past several years. It's just screwed up.
I wasn't aware that Darren took off his shoes before the price revealed, and it worked for him again! Well, on this day, walking on bare feet worked.

Overall: OK show today, I guess, thanks to the perfect bids and the contestants.

I hope Joanna took her trip to DC already...because Independence Air no longer operates!

I'm also curious to see why there was a full credit roll today .  I wonder if we'll see it in the futre.

I ruled that out, because the bells started ringing after she said her bid the first time.  Otherwise, it would have rung after all the commotion.

I really done have time to give a review of my own for today's show, but I will say it was very nice to see the full credit roll for once instead of promos. I wonder if it was done by mistake. Maybe CBS felt since they now have innertube that they would cut back on promos shown on TV and simply use them on innertube. Hopefully we'll see the credit roll again tomorrow.

Plus I'm surprised we still had one remaining "lost" episode. It was nice to see a new ep considering this is Memorial Day and most shows are showing reruns.

You guys and gals have a great day.

If I didn't know any better, I would say that Dorothy's lucky number is 75.  Considering she got a perfect bid, I'd say 75 really must be lucky for her!

Speaking of $500 bonuses, after what Ida did with her $500 bonus, I have to wonder if they really did use that same $500 to give to Dorothy and Joanna !

While Range Game is usually just a random guess nowadays, on days like today, where the prize is something like a spa, it really increases your odds of winning by stopping the rangefinder with to cover two sets of "$xx90-xx00" prices, when tens digit in the prize is probably 9.  Ida really should have won this today, as there was no good reason to stop it as early as she did.

...and you know, considering the price was smack dab in the middle of the $600 range anyway, even Roger wanted it won today.  No excuse at all for it being lost.

Today's playing of Eazy az 1-2-3 had to be the absolute fastest playing of the game in the show's history.  They only got about halfway through the first verse!  Personally, I'd like some longer playings with confused contestants... I miss hearing more of the music.

Anthony actually played his first turn in Switcheroo well!  It seemed more like he was putting the blocks in random spots for his second turn, though.

Now, speaking as someone who lives in New Orleans (or lived in Chalmette, specifically), and someone who lost almost everything last August, I still can't help but think that the message from Mary Landrieu at the start of the episode was kinda' silly.  Not her message itself--nothing wrong with that, or Landrieu herself--but the thought that airing the episode needed to be justified in the first place.  Maybe all you guys who aren't from around here might get it more than I do.

As for the trip to New Orleans, over $5000!  It's about time the show offered a trip to New Orleans that wasn't ultra cheap!  I personally hope they start offering trips to New Orleans again next season!

As it is, I would have won One Right Price, but for the wrong reason:  I thought $3655 would be too high for New Orleans, considering most of the New Orleans trips in the past have been under $3000.  This is one of the very rare times where I would have won One Right Price but lost Switch? with the same set of prizes.

And whinbaby... wow on the price of the Best Home Furnishing furniture.  I can't believe the show found someone cheaper than even Ashley!  And I also can't believe that the show hardly ever uses Best Home Furnishing, considering how cheap it seems to be.

I wonder why they didn't do the split screen credits today.  And I wonder why when it does happen, it's never for normally-airing first run episodes.

Speaking of the "full" credits, anyone have a clue why the show went back to using Roman numerals for the year?  I remember they switched from Roman numerals to regular numbers around the early to middle of 1994.  Anyone know why they switched back?

Darren.  And heels, I'm surprised at you again.  I thought for sure you would say something like "I wish I were Darren at the end of the show" :-P.

Nothing unusual about that at all.  This episode was taped before the 30 seconds were shaved off the show earlier this season.  I would have been surprised if they didn't cut off the ticket plug.

Most have been said: The credit roll was a real treat to see.  And YES, Rich is on camera for a long time!

Game wise:

Switcheroo: I would have trouble with the car.  I would have gotten the sandwich maker and mini fridge correct.

Range Game: Easy, I had a bad feeling that Ida would lose once she stopped it too soon.

Easy as 1-2-3: Wow that sure seem very fast, wasn't it? :-?  And that set-up was simple.

One Right Price: Yes! New Orleans.  I thought the NO trip was $3655.

Now or Then: Easy set up, I had a hunch Joanna would win this.

One Away: I had a feeling Even lost once he made the middle number 6.

Also: 3 Perfect one bids?!  Amazing!

Overall: an excellent Memorial Day/Katrina #1 show to start the week off.

Overall, a great show.  Three perfect bids?  Wow!

Switchy--this was one case where I would have actually started with the car, since it the $35 ending looked right on that Focus.  And I'd really love to see an "Ice cooker" :-).

Range Game--Obvious loss.

Eazy--The entire audience was screaming "3-1-2" while Darren was trying to pick up all the blocks at once, and it was pretty obvious.  Darren initally thought that it was a race against time and so went barefoot.

1RP--I would've lost, since I thought there was no way DC would be that *expensive.*  To explain, Independence Air had dirt-cheap airfare, which is why they went out of business;  probably looking at $150 r/t per person for LA-DC. Expensive hotel!

NoT--easy, but well done.

One Away--We've seen the Caravan before at $19,834, but I'm not sure if one was on the show prior to this being taped.

Showcases--my bids:  $26,750/$15,200.  The boat is my first ever money win in CSS!

I still think it's silly they felt they needed to put a PSA in on having a trip to New Orleans, but anyway...

I wasn't surprised that Ida lost Range Game.  She stopped the Range Finder way too quickly.

"Three, one, two," now, there's a new way to direct Eazy as 1 2 3.

Bah, they had to cut the ticket plug, did they?  Oh, well, at least they left the midshow bumper in. :-)

Wow, Now...or Then was played on this episode.  So, that means the price flaps got their current colours on this playing.

I don't remember Rich using that low voice in the later First Bank of Price Showcases.  It certanily made it interesting.

Uh...WOW, I assume I was probably as surprised as the rest of you were when the real credits began rolling.  I don't know what brought that on, but thank you, CBS!

Honest to God, it felt like this day was never going to get here.  And it was worth the wait, too...Bob was in top form this morning.

It's too bad Anthony didn't win Switcheroo, because he actually seemed to be playing it correctly (if not necessarily well).

Did anybody else get the sense that Bob and Dorothy weren't quite having the same conversation during the 2nd IUFB?  I was so worried that that price was going to wind up being $1,475...

I swear to God, I thought Ida had a chance at winning Range Game.  I didn't know the show used any spas that were in five figures...I thought Roger might actually have put the price just a little above where the rangefinder started.

I got a real kick out of Bob letting Darren keep up the barefoot thing through the whole show.

I was very impressed that Dorothy won 1 Right Price, especially since she seemed to be the only person in the whole place who had the right answer.  Honestly, I would have won because I thought $3,655 was too high for New Orleans.

There's a small set change in Now....or Then involving the colors of the stripes at the tops and bottoms of the price flaps that I can now confirm took place on this episode.

Evan seemed to me like someone who'd planned to go to the show and make a spectacle of himself and then couldn't quite bring himself to go through with it when he actually got called.  Even his $420 bid didn't bother me as much as it usually does (probably because he was able to contrive an explanation for it).

Incidentally, did anyone notice during the Showcase that they never took down the Now....or Then sign? (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif)

I wonder if they're going to do any more First Bank of Price showcases.  This was actually the first of the two they've done, but the second one was all the way back on December 16.

And of course, there was that moment at the very end that, even if not a single thing had been won today and the contestants were all jerks, would have made the whole show worthwhile -- THE REAL CREDITS!!! (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif)  This is the first time they've been seen on the East Coast since December 25, 2002.  Anyone know if they were shown in the Pacific Time Zone, too?

(For what it's worth, I check the end of The Young and the Restless today to see if its credits were aired.  They weren't. (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) )

In all seriousness, does anyone know what happened with Dorothy's trip to New Orleans?

I would imagine the ticket plug was edited out to make time for Senator Landrieu.  In fact, they cut off the mid-show bumper early, too.  (...but God, was it good to see that again.)

EDIT:  Actually, could anyone maybe post up a video of the mid-show bumper?  It seems WTAJ has started cutting it off again.

Today's show was very good, and I definitely feel that it was worth the wait.

Since Ida stopped the range finder too early in Range Game, it was no surprise that she lost.

One of the coolest things about the show was that we got to see the full credits for the first time in a few years!

I doubt it -- they never had any problems when they reran the third week of the season back in March.  I'm starting to think maybe somebody had Memorial Day off and the sub screwed it up.  Besides, I have a pretty good idea that CBS chewed them out for this back in January.

It was nice to see Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana), come on before today's show to talk about New Orleans, and her home state of Louisiana. It is has been 9 months since those 2 horrible hurricanes.  But, New Orleans is rebuilding.

We pray for the people of New Orleans, and those who have been affected by the hurricanes.  God Bless the City of New Orleans.

PG #1 - *sigh* I hate it when contestants claim they know how to play a game, then ask Bob to go over the rules one more time.  $83 for a friggin' sandwich maker?!

One-Bid #2 - I'm pretty sure Dorothy said $1,375.  But that's an irrelevant point...

PG #2 - That was a dumb place to stop.  The bottom end of the range finder didn't even pass the top end of the starting point.

PG #3 - Joy... it's Sleazy again.

PG #4 - Hello, New Orleans!  :-)  Wow, I never would've guessed New Orleans was that expensive!  Or more expensive than D.C.  I had $3,655 on N.O., thinking D.C. was around $5,000.

One-Bid #5 - Hey, Scorpz!  There's a Kimberly for the Amazing Race!  (Two weeks late, but still... :-P )  Whoa, what's going on here?!  Three perfect bids!  This is turning into a Golden-Road.net Live Show!  :-D

One-Bid #6 - That was interesting to hear the pool table cue for a bar set.

Showcases - It's time for CSS--with special guest Mary Landrieu!  :-P  OK, those two bids sucked royally.  Joanna's bid didn't even cover the boat, and Darren's bid barely covered the piano.

My bids - FRBS:  $29,850.  Random room/piano:  $17,000. (OUCH!  Over by $21!  :-( )

Addendum - Outside of the New Orleans trip, the three perfect bids, and Dorothy, today's show was average at best.

If anyone can send me a copy of today's show on DVD, please contact me so whe can arrange something!

That's one show I didn't wanna miss... I knew they would run the entire roll!

I agree, it was pretty cool to see the normal roll of credits.

Today's was a good edition. I really like "First Bank of Price" showcases because it has its own prop and reminds me of the good ol' days. My play along score was so-so, but I did manage a perfect 5 in Switcheroo. I was with Steve though too, I thought D.C. was the 1 Right Price because it was too expensive for the typical New Orleans trip. Three perfect bids? Wowzer. And yes, full credits to boot!

About the credit roll: It was so happy to see it again.  It got Rich a lot of camera, the most ever at the end of a show.

Maybe CBS did the full credit roll because of the New Orleans events.  They wanted to show some respect for the New Orleans residents, so instead of having the promos, they did the credits instead.

I'm guessing we'll see the hated split screen credits tomorrow, but have the full credit on the 2nd New Orleans episode next month.

This is a GUESS.  Hopefully somebody will have a concrete answer.

Man, of all the days I had to miss Price, I missed the one with the full credits.  :-x

Anyone have a video capture?  :-)

When Bob plugs a Million Dollar Spectacular, they often edit the show to dump right to a break after a Showcase Showdown to make up the time.  They probably dumped out today because of the senator's introduction.

Be sure to tune in on June 12th when the other New Orleans episode airs.  It will likely be the last time we get to see the mid-show bumper on a new episode.

I was mildly amused that the trip to Washington, D.C. was on Independence Air since they went out of business.  It seems the trips today were cursed.

I had to rewind my DVR when I heard the Fremantle stinger at the end of the show.  I didn't even notice they had the full credits.  Now how cool would it be if on June 12th, not only do they show the full credits, but it's a long credit roll?

To make such an enormous prop must have cost a fair amount of money, so I'm sure they always intended it to be a recurring segment.

As far as the traditional credits are concerned, my guess would be that whoever produced the reëditing of this show forgot to arrange for a new set of split-screen credits to be composed, and by the time the network noticed it, they just decided not to worry about it.

Switcheroo: I had the strongest feeling that Anthony won the cheapest prize and not the car. I knew the sandwich maker and the blender would be wrong.

Range Game: I didn't think a spa would be five-figured; I would've stopped it too early. It looks like Ida did, too.

Eazy az 123: Was the audience chanting the order of the blocks or my old area code?

1 Right Price: I knew New Orleans would be the higher price; I still would've put the price on DC.

now... or then: Even in 1997 did I knew that Mentadent was an expensive brand.

One Away: I can understand changing the 2 to 4 was a good choice, but I was not too confident with the 8 or 5.

I did not concentrate too much on the Showcases because I had to prepare for a commute. But I did take time to enjoy an actual (partial) credit roll  :-D (I say partial because I did not see the rest of the crew besides Bob, Dob, and Fingers, but still very enjoyable.)

For the second one, the yellow label on the showcase podium read "TPIR BANK", so it looks like they're considering adding it to the Elevator/Train Depot/Port o' Price rotation.

I liked this one, where they tied in the second and third prizes in what would otherwise be the usual "three random things" showcase.

Yep. Caught me off-guard, as well.

I know this is late, but this show was too cool! 3 perfect bids, a guy who didn't like to wear shoes, THE OUTROW, and FULL SCREEN CREDITS! Whoa, this is a saver!

Switcheroo: Meh, not the easier setup
Range: So close, but yet, so far away
Easy: Lives up to it's name!
1RP: cool! And incidentally, isn't "Independence" airlines now out of business since this taping?
NOT: Mentadent? Is that still made? This wasn't an easy or hard setup, but a win nevertheless!
One Away: Ouch.

Somebody, please save this show as one of the best for Season 34! Wow, just amazing.

switcheroo: difficult as usual.
range: another  contestant falling victim to the dumb rgs.
easy: easy.
1rp: difficult. how easy is it to win when the prices are $110 apart?
now or then: very easy setup.
one away: i knew the nine was right, but i had no idea there would be a FOUR at the end. the dob can be evil.
showcases: will anybody EVER learn that ski boats are 30k?

What the freakin' hell does that have to do with this playing?  The prices were separated by almost $2,000!

That's a rather stupid thing to say, considering that the entire showcase wasn't even worth that much.
