WhammyPower788 did this and asked me to post this. The Price Around the World section is basically deceased, and I think it wouldn't be a major issue to have a dedicated recap thread for those who missed the show.

Thanks for sharing this, Adam. I was curious to see how this turned out.

I've been thinking a lot about the format of TPIR lately; I feel like I've been enjoying LMAD more recently because there's more time for contestant interaction. Today's demand for more commercials means that, on average, there is 5-6 minutes less show in the hour now than in Bob's heyday. Since the show's format hasn't changed a bit since 1977 (which, yes, is a statement that it works, and I suspect its structure is why we like this show so much and not, say, Wheel of Fortune), it's becoming tougher to have a satisfying lineup and meaningful interactions with the contestants. I've been considering various ways to get the show down to five pricing games and one showdown, although personally I vastly prefer two contestants in the Showcase. I can see why they'd want one contestant in the Showcase since that's how they've usually done it in Europe and it means the show doesn't have to spend nearly as much money.

(Side note: obviously if we retooled the format right now it would go over extremely poorly. This is more of a scenario where the show went off air permanently and was revived a few years later, perhaps by another company/network.)

Any legal way to watch this in the United States?
