Completely unremarkable show, save for the fact GR got played. Scott, do you know at all why this got moved?

The setups were pretty hard today, Bonkers and LEU in particular. Bonkers was played well considering the age of the contestant but simply playing the odds was going to get you nowhere there with -98. LEU meanwhile had a double number that guaranteed it wasn't going to get won. So that WASN'T just a post-Scott leaving thing. (The first couple LEUs after Scott left had that, and I hadn't seen it in a long time, so I figured that might be why, but then nope).

Timings:
Golden Road (6) - 6:02
Coming Or Going (3.5) - 2:41
Most Expensive (3.5) - 4:13
Bonkers (4.5) - 4:09
Line 'em Up (5.5) - 4:40
Cliff Hangers (4.5) - 4:47
Total (27.5): 26:32

Alright, truth be told, I actually did sit down and watched this episode. but the only reason I saw this one was to see what it would've looked liked had it aired back the day it was supposed to. But with that said, this show was forgettable. It's nice to see "Golden Road" again, but it was such a disappointment to see it not fully won again. It's also good to see "Bonkers" again, because that game has been severely underplayed this season. "Line 'Em Up" was evil with the double 5 trap. The show was also filled with one disappointment after another. I see Drew brought Connor with him at the start of the show. In my opinion, that's a trait that needs to stop. I sure hope the next make-good on August 29th is an improvement over this one.

I thought it was pointless to have Connor run out and immediately run off the stage. I know Drew loves and is proud of him, but it just seemed unnecessary.

Really nice Porsche on GR, too bad it wasn't won. Pretty much an unremarkable show.

Another D.O.B?! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIZbGSXeWWE)

Anyway, I knew that the missing number of the Porsche was 2. Leave it to Abdullah's friends to pressure him by making him pick 7 instead. Nice to see it again, but I don't know why Mike made that game so reclusive this season.

ME and Cliffy were easy wins. And that's it.

Double 5s on Line? (*sighs*)

The SCs were cheap and boring......................As usual.

Nothing more to point out, except that it was heavily forgettable (Like last week's BTS special). Seems unnecessary to have Connor out just so he can run away like that. Nothing against him...........Just saying.

By "it", I mean Golden Road.

The first half was fine. We got as far as I could possibly expect in Goldy, and ME was really easy.

Games 4 & 5 were where it really fell apart. Bonkers was hard yet could have been won with - say it with me - anchoring the 8. Why can't people just use some logic up there? Of course, she failed an easy Wheel decision as well...

Then Line... I am sick of this. Just make the car deceptive. Or even low 4th like I thought she exacta'd today. Enough repeating digits. Went to that well WAY, WAY too much this season.

The lineup also was kinda sucky in the end. Put one of Bonkers or Cliff 3rd.

... Can someone just win a SC nowadays? I feel like it's a struggle every other day sometimes. Hopefully this is as fluky as the 10 DSWs a couple seasons ago.

It was more reclusive last season, albeit by only one playing. But you do have a point.

I also chose 2 for the missing number. :)  And one thing that I liked about Connor coming though the doors first was that it allowed us to hear more of the main theme during the host's entrance, the way we did during Bob's later years on the show.

Connor is both growing up maturing right before our eyes; I could tell by his entrance.

I also noticed that all of the bids from contestant's row were under $1000. That is quite rare these days. (By the way, my very first post on this board was about this occurring on another show).

Too bad about the double overbid. But just seeing the ninety-eight thousand-dollar Porsche offered today (in Golden Road) was good enough for me. :)

But there's one good thing about them. They all came very close to a win.

3 Strikes-- Down to the last 2 numbers, and the contestant knew where they'd go. Too bad he drew the last strike and lost.
Triple Play-- Made it all the way to the last car.
Golden Road-- Made it all the way to the grand prize.

I was thrilled to see Golden Road today, and I was even more thrilled to see Abdullah make it all the way to the end. It's a shame we didn't finally get a win, but THAT was an exciting game, and it was set up well: easy first prize, 50/50 second prize, 1-in-3 third prize.

I really hope Mike wasn't serious when he said Golden Road doesn't get played because it's not won enough. Did you see the excitement in the studio when they walked over to that Porsche? Did you hear it? Feel it? That is how you make a show interesting—playing a rare game for a huge prize is a treat that we haven't gotten enough of for a few years now.

Other than that, there were some nice moments and good contestants in this show. I thought Drew was pretty on the ball all day; he didn't say anything after the final reveal in GR, but it seemed like there was a cut there. The shaking his fist at the crowd after CoG and his reaction to the cat calls for Rob were pretty funny. I have to say, though, that the mumbled guesses of prices in Bonkers and Cliff Hangers were pretty out of place.

Golden Road: Awesome Porsche! If Abdullah had won it, he'd have been the first male $100K+ daytime winner of TPIR. I won't give up on this game. Underplayed as it is, I'm sure it'll get its second win in the Carey era (MDSs included) eventually.
Coming or Going: Tricky. Cheap trip.
Most Expensive: Piece of cake.
Bonkers: She tried.
Line 'em Up: Tricky 4th number.
Cliff Hangers: Another win with ease!

Showcase: This had better be the last DOB of the season.

I hope so. Then again, these make-goods so far are pretty much "flashes in the pan", at best.

This was just a godawful show. Golden Road will never be won again as long as Mike is running things. The same goes for Triple Play. And I expected yet another DOB. I bet the rest of the make-goods will suck just as hard. I have a really bad feeling about season 42.

Honestly, this playing of Golden Road gave me hope. It was actually setup much easier than it normally would be for a non-special daytime show. A couple of games were a little disappointing, but as a whole, today's show was actually pretty good. There was just a lot of tough luck, and Mike can't be blamed for that, no matter how much you may dislike him.

Great to see Golden Road again, but I would rather see it twice as often with $50k cars.  There is some point where you know it is a luxury car, and it is well below $100k.

Knowing your Canadian geography would have helped with that Vancouver setup, as its not nearly as far as many of the other Canadian cities the show offers trips to.

I understand that Golden Road takes up a huge chunk of time, but there was no need to end the first half with another quickie.

Mary was a great contestant, and did her best with Bonkers despite a tough setup.  I would have thought the package was less than $6k.

I have more of an issue with correct repeating numbers in Line 'Em Up in the sliders themselves, like in this playing (http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/topic,21492.0.html), then double numbers to end the price.  Actually, there were 8 completely different numbers to pick from in the sliders today.

Not really surprised at the DOB with the cheap boat in the mix.

50/50 second prize, 1-in-3 third prize.

I'm guessing that you're talking about not choosing the same number twice in a row, but that was never a rule.

But there's one good thing about them. They all came very close to a win.

This season, that's true.  But when Triple Play hasn't been won since S36 and Golden Road hasn't been won in daytime since S35, "very close" isn't really good enough.

This is an instance where my thumb got a little bit ahead of my brain when typing on my iPhone, combined with not reviewing what I had typed before I clicked Post. Looking back, I probably wouldn't have gone that far in my argument if I hadn't been in a hurry, but I stand by everything else I said.

Wow, what a fantastic show!  This one really felt like the old days.  Just a shame that yet again, Golden Road wasn't won.

Drew was really on the ball today.  He did a fantastic job of hosting Golden Road.

Holy crap did they not want Bonkers or Line em Up won.

I don't watch regularly anymore (for various reasons) and haven't since early Season 40. However, I got to see this episode in its entirety, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised on the current state of the show. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, especially seeing Golden Road.

I was mistaken with the steam shower, but the 8 was pretty much unpickable for the Porsche, since $98,8xx was almost definitely wrong. I thought I remembered there being a repeating digit for the steam shower too.

For the 40 bazillionth time, there is no trick in Golden Road involving the price of the car never having repeating digits.

I don't see why.  The game's been around for almost 40 years, and it's won a reasonable amount of the time when it gets played a reasonable amount of the time.
