Title: new tpir logo
Post by: on August 18, 2007, 02:20:22 AM
Keep in mind I'm a terrible artist and this may not be COMPLETELY accurate, but it will give you a good idea of the new tpir logo, found in show's opening, the doors, and the huge signs that hang at the rear of the auditorium:

That's really not terribly more or less accurate than any of the other renditions people have tried to draw.

Well, we will all know what it looks like in a month or so along with the show, opens, bumps, and all the other elements that are making the show fresh. Including Drew.

Perhaps, what should be created for the time up to and possibly including the debut of Season 36, a new seperate forum area to contain these images, ideas, speculation, etc for the show. I'm certainly interested to see people's idea. Some people, however, aren't.

It might just pacify those few cranky users (who shall  remain nameless but obvious) as they won't be required to participate.

THAT DOES IT...I'm sick and tired of seeing these crap renditions popping up, especially after we've already hashed this ground several times.  I'm putting an end to these macabre speculations--as soon as I can possibly churn one out, we're getting a virtual render of the new Studio 33.  All the confidences kept, all the promises kept, but all this endless debate and speculation has to END!!!

Look for something hopefully within a few days.

I love the circle/diamond pattern!  They look a bit like the twinkling light bulbs from the light box.  (The filament in each bulb takes on a diamond shape when seen through a camera lens with a star filter.)  Looks like that's what they were going for - pretty ingenious!

I can do without the orange/red shapes behind the logo though.  I know they needed some sort of background behind the lettering, but YUCK!

So that's what the doors will look like next season.  The colors of one of them remind me of the Cleveland Browns.  :-D

I know I'm gonna get bashed for this, but I personally can't stand the new pattern.  I've looked at that picture a few times and I can't bring myself to like it.  Plus, upon closer inspection, the logo isn't even centered on the door.  That will look very awkward when/if they do a dissolve from the zoom-in logo.  That is, of course, if they still use that particular shot/method.

The design is very modern. The box that the logo is my only gripe. Great look, though.

Certainly doesn't look modern to me.  Believe it or not, it's not the box that bothers me, it's the rest of it.  I personally can't wait for Brandon's 3D rendering just so I can point out every fault I find with the new set.

In fact, it is.  The logo consists of 2 halves.  One half is more oblong than the other.  The separation between halves occurs right at the opening point of the doors.

Way to be positive...
Title: Background arrows are unnecessary.
Post by: Train on August 18, 2007, 09:32:07 PM
The arrows in the background are really unnecessary.  Of course the logo can be chaged to include the season number, but adding something to the primary logo is a completely new thing.  It's not surprising with only because we have a new host, and now things are (slightly) changed to fit his needs.

What's next?  A newer contestants' row with different colours?
Title: Re: new tpir logo
Post by: johnnyrifle on August 18, 2007, 09:38:08 PM
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that the "arrows" or "hexagons" look exactly like the price tags that have become a staple of the show. It's also a throwback to the Cullen-era show.

The shade of color on that door looks kind of sickly in the picture, but I assume it looks a lot better in the proper studio lighting.

No more unnessecary than Dollar signs from the MDS doors, the Stars from the 31-34 doors, or the ribbons from the 25-31 doors.

Rumor is the colors for CR have been adjusted to match the new color scheme, which for the first time in AGES, actually matches and compliments each other, instead of 3 different schemes in 3 different areas.

I believe that the look they were going for is a retro-familiar yet modern (the yet unseen new lights will tell that tale). From the sounds of everything, I personally like the show's new look. But PLEASE remember- we haven't seen it all yet- DON'T write the show's set, or anything else off, til we have seen more!!!!

I can see where this would be an update of the Cullen era TPIR logo. I see this as a fitting tribute to the show past and future.

For those who may not have seen it, here is the text of one of the comments on the blog (http://buzzerblog.flashgameshows.com/the-new-price-is-right-doors/#comments):

"That lovely lady next to Drew and the new doors is none other that Roger Dobkowitz’s daughter, Rebecca. It was posted on Facebook last night on her profile, and has now been removed."

Interestingly, as of right now, even though the picture has supposedly been removed from the Facebook profile, the direct link to the picture (http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v121/151/52/24600156/n24600156_32525423_2188.jpg) still works.

I'm really not liking the new door.  It's too much of a mix of 70s and now and the color scheme is just bad (reminds me of puke).  It should be more colorful.  The new logo isn't that bad, but I really hope they change their minds about using that background for the door.

The "halves" aren't the same size, so they aren't really "halves."  Therefore the logo is NOT centered.

True, but I think it is much nicer to see the logo split apart with the $ on the left, and the entire "The Price is Right" on the right side... when the logo is truly centered, while the doors open it just looks weird to see part of the words split apart.

While I can understand the reasoning with the positioning of the logo, the overall appearance of it off center, to me, is rather awkward.  Besides, for years the doors opened and the words split apart and nobody complained.  I have no problem with the new logo itself, but I still think it should have been centered for appearance reasons.  That awful circle/diamond pattern with the hideous yellowish-orange backdrop needs to go.  (Not a bad color for Tails though for you Sonic fans) Hopefully the other doors look a lot better.  Maybe then I'll change my mind.

I agree the the orange/yellow sort of clashes with the show's logo, but I have a feeling the blue and green doors will look very nice behind the logo.  And, the turntable, too ;-) .  And, FINALLY, they have gotten rid of the useless pointed stars and returned to different colors on each door!
Title: New colours, too.
Post by: Train on August 19, 2007, 02:14:20 AM
If those are the doors they're going to use.  They're quite bland.  A far cry from the colourful doors we've been seeing with Bob.  Is Drew trying to make the show look likeit was in the early 1970's?

I don't think that Drew has much say in how the set looks (nor do I think he wants to.)

So, given a line of symmetry in the new logo, an obvious easy division to put on the centerline of the door, you'd have them *not* do that? but rather, split it in the words??

I didn't say that.  I'm merely pointing out that the logo is not centered, contrary to what a previous poster said.

As long as they have those shapes behind the logo, and as long as there's nothing else to consider (like if they were to return to the old stripes around the edges) then it would look much worse truly centered.

I was just thinking...I wonder if they plan on changing the yellowish IUFB "price tags" to the orange/red combo as seen on the new doors.  The logo background would certainly make a lot more sense.

I spent a little time today putting together some backgrounds for your computer.

I modeled them after the designs on the new Price is Right set. There are 4 color choices (orange, green, blue, purple) in 2 formats (wide screen and 4:3) and the new logo is livin' large.

Inspired by the one Cory "pacdude" Anotado made. :)

jaydlewis... that's pretty good, except you have a very small space between the circles, which don't exist on the actual set.  Also, "The" "Is" and "Right" on the logo are not true white, they are off-white.  Otherwise, nice job.

This used to be my avatar -- notice the "connected" circles (if you stare at it long enough, it is an optical illusion -- is it a light diamond on the circle or a dark diamond?).  Also notice the off-white font:

(http://www.UploadYourImages.com/thumb/495778s36-2.jpg) (http://www.UploadYourImages.com/view/495778s36-2.jpg)

And, BTW, your link (and mine too!) will probably be soon deleted due to MG's stance on linking webpages with spoilers on the new set -- just read the Stickyed post at the top of forum: The Talk is Right.
