Title: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 16--THE END
Post by: Mallory16 on May 18, 2006, 07:46:47 PM
First of all, rcbought, as the winner of the Fifteenth Episode Prediction Game, you may elect to use your automatic first four entry anytime from this episode to Episode 20.  I'm mostly imposing a limit just so I won't have to keep track of it for all eternity, and possibly everyone else's should I decide to try that again.

Anyway, our last episode turned out mighty fine, with four games won, one game lost that would've been more disappointing if it had been won, and the more expensive showcase won!  So we have quite a show to beat, but we may just do it with our sixteenth episode here!

Want to play?  Then sign up!  You will be sent a PM when you are called to come on down, and only then; after that, it will be your responsibility to keep track of this thread.  If you miss once in contestants' row or in the showcase showdown, I'll handle things on a case by case basis as to whether or not to give a second chance, like Jade would've gotten a second chance in the last show had it not been the last item up for bids, as he had an adequate reason for missing the deadline.  Miss once during a pricing game or the showcase, though, and you're out.  Pricing games that have not yet begun will simply have a replacement contestant called; partially finished pricing games will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis as to what I decide to do with it.

And of course, we always have questions nowadays when you sign up... and we've got another optional question for you here:  I have my reasons why I've set Cliff Hangers up to be kinda' hard both times it was played; quite simply, of every game I've hosted, I want least for Cliff Hangers to be won.  Should it be made easier, though, or is the end result worth having the game being as hard as it's been?  Is an overly expensive prize enough compensation for that?

And a bonus optional question:  only two games that I've hosted more than once have never been won.  Cliff Hangers is one of them.  Anyone know the other?

The show starts at midnight on Monday, May 22, so if you want to play, just sign up by then!

I guess I'll sign up second then :)  And I think Cliff Hangers should be left as is.  I personally like the idea of a LFAT winning the game, but if you up the stakes, let's mess with those small prizes a bit.  It shouldn't be a TOTAL gimme in that case.  At least here in this forum.  On the show, steady as she goes...

I'm finally over my great loss from a few episodes ago, so I'm ready to make a comeback.  Hopefully, of course.

For Cliff Hangers, compensate the hardness for a more expensive prize.  Doesn't have to be a car, doesn't have to be a GEM car :-P, but that would be nice.

Regarding the second question... I'm gonna go with It's In The Bag. ;-)  I'm sure it has to be a GP game that has been lost (come on, it takes a miracle or two to win the game!), but I don't remember quite far back.

And finally... Sternal, you feeling a little fruity? :-P

A $29,000+ living room group wasn't expensive enough :-P?

I'm in again!  Hopefully, I won't be part of the FFBC again :-).  Definitely keep Cliffy the way it is...it's hard, but still doable, and should be hard for the level of prize offered.  (Of course, I doubt your mountain climber would agree with me here!)  I am going to say Danger Price is the multi-played game that's been lost 100% of the time.

I'm in and Cliff Hangers is just fine and no changes is necessary.

I'm stumped about the game lost time after time.

Let me in!

I'll say that Cliffhangers should be left as is.  It's middle of the road, as long as you remember the "Price's escalate trick."

As for the other game still on the losing streak: Oh dear, Lucky 7 came to my mind. I'll tentatively say this is my final answer.

I'll return to defend my title!  :-)

The only change I suggest for Cliffy is do away with the anvil drop after Hans falls off the cliff.

As for the bonus question, I'll guess Punchboard.

Post by: Jordan7 on May 18, 2006, 09:43:25 PM
I skipped last show, but I'd like to play this time.

As for Cliffhangers.....I don't see a problem with it, as long as if you make it difficult, play for an expensive prize. If you want to do an easy playing, find a cheap prize to use, like a $3000 dining or living room group or something else. It's basically your choice.

As for the bonus part.....I would say Master Key. I think it was played somewhere around episode 12, and it was lost.

I think you're fine. As a rule of thumb, the difficulty of the game correlates with the prize.

Oh, and I am in.

I gotta get in this one -- I need PG wins!

I actually enjoy the added difficulty in the games here.  I mean, we're all observant fans of the game; the Play Alongs should be more challenging.  So I see nothing wrong with Cliffhangers not being won.

Frank seeing that you are the Professor Price of play along,  I think that your Cliff Hangers set up is just fine.  I say bring it ON.

I will forgo my freebie this time and just sign up normally

Also I say Punchboard was lost twice

Cliffhangers: That depends. Make it a little easier, unless like Brewer, you plan on replacing Hans with Britney Spears (or better yet, Barry Bonds). If that's the case, then make it even harder!

Also, I'm going to guess that That's Too Pink has been lost more than once, judging by the EVIL setup I got nailed with...

Your Cliff Hangers setup is just right. I love seeing the animation, so that's what makes it worthwhile. As for the other game that's never been won, I'll say Master Key.

Madonna: "replacing Hans with Barry Bonds"

THAT IS FUNNY!!!  Why not? I agree. I'm in, too. Goes with Bonds and his 714 HR today. My ideas for Cliffy include: using items in not the usual price order, (low to high) playing for a cheap prize, and, instead of SP, use items $100-$999. For the bonus question, my guess would be Triple Play.

IN!

Cliffy should be left as it is. Most of us on here watch TPiR more often than casual viewers, so we might have an easier time.

Besides, too easy games aren't nearly as fun. It needs a challenge.

I'll say Punchy for the other question.

I'll sign Up!

Leave Cliffy alone! I like it hard (And when are ya' gonna play Hurdles, anyways?!)

I know Punch-a-Bunch, Double Prices, It's in the Bag, and Danger Price have all been won on Frank's show before (Heck! Danger Price was the first pricing game I won on Frank's show!), so I'll say Master Key.
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 16--SIGN UPS
Post by: PriceFanArmadillo on May 21, 2006, 08:25:44 PM
I agree with making Cliffy hard...just more satisfying when I finally get a crack at it and win (which you know's bound to happen someday :-D ).

Oh, and for the bonus question, I've played Shell Game, Punchboard, Squeeze Play, Take Two, Pick-A-Pair, and at least one other game that escapes me right now.  Thus, if you know my record with Frank's games, at least three of you need to change your guess for the bonus question.  :-)  My answer is That's Too Much!.

Oh, and just to make it official, I'm in.

Yes, the first choice was right on his budget show.  No, it was not won.  In fact, when I first saw it, I was pretty sure the first price was the winner.  Unfortunately for Madonna, I didn't see it until they were on the second choice.  :-(

Post by: Mallory16 on May 22, 2006, 12:00:03 AM
That's Too Much was won on Episode 6, though, despite that the game was absolutely not intened to be won, with the right price ninth.

For those of you wondering what pricing game, besides Cliff Hangers, was played at least twice, yet never won, the answer is Master Key, with one key being won both times.  So good memories or good guesses for those of you who said that.  But no more silly questions:  it's time to start our show!

Rich:  Here it comes, from the Golden-Road.net forums online, the Internet's most exciting couple o' weeks of fantastic prizes:  the fabulous 20,160-minute Price is Right!

Alfonzo, come on down!

PriceFanArmadillo, come on down!

Madonna, come on down!

And CrimsonViper, come on down!  You are the first four contestants on The Price is Right!  And now, here is the star of The Price is Right, Frank!

*Frank enters the stage through the big doors.*

Welcome to The Price is Right!  Thank you, thank you, I thank you all for that wonderful, wonderful welcome!  At least I'm hoping it was wonderful.  Enough silliness, now, there is the first item up for bids today!

Rich:  A tasty-making barbecue.  From Pitt's & Spitt's, this Ultimate BBQ Pit with upright smoker is 96 inches wide by 23 inches deep by 75 inches tall, and features an offset firebox for log burning cooking through indirect heat.

And that barbecue will go to the one of you four who bids nearest to the actual retail price without going over.  Bid in dollars, please, because we round off our prices to the nearest dollar, and Crimson, you get the first bid of the day!

Alfonzo:  $1600

All right, everyone has bid!  The actual retail price of the barbecue is...

$2395, the winner is Alfie!  And Alfie, as the winner, I want you to follow me back here to the big doors for our first game of the day, for a prize that you'll love!  Howdy, Alfie.  Now, this is our sixteenth show, is it not?  And what better way to start our sixteenth show than by giving you this!

Rich:  Oh Alfonzo, you now have a chance to win $10,000!

Ooh, Alfie!  Think of all the things you could buy with $10,000!  What would you get first?  Ooh, just thinking about all that makes me want you to win it, and hopefully you can playing Half Off!

*Image removed.

Now, we have 16 boxes here.  One of those 16 boxes has $10,000 in it!  If you can pick out that box, it's yours!  Now, that might seem a little hard, since there are also 15 boxes that are empty.  So I'm going to show you two prizes.  One of them has the right price on it, but the other has a price that is half off.  If you can tell me which price is half off, we'll get rid of half the boxes, making your choice of box easier!  Then we'll show you two more prizes, and again, if you can tell us which price is half off, we'll get rid of half the boxes again, leaving only four boxes left.  And then two more prizes, and again, pick the one with a price that is half off and we'll get rid of half of the remaining boxes!  It's that easy, Fonzie, so let's do this!  Rich, tell us about these first two prizes!

Rich:  It's the Sharp R-310JW 1200 watt microwave oven with a 1.2 cubic foot capacity, lots of cooking and defrosting options, and lots of settings to choose from.

And the Dualit Lite 4-slice toaster, easy to remove small items, and automatically adjusts for bagels, buns, and muffins.

*Image removed.

The microwave is marked at $90.  The toaster is marked at $80.  One of those prices is right.  The other is half off the actual price.  If you can tell me which prize's price is half off, you'll win the two prizes, but more importantly, we'll get rid of half the boxes!
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 16--PG #1
Post by: Alfonzo on May 22, 2006, 05:21:19 PM
Because it's you Frank, I'll say the toaster.
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 16--PG #1
Post by: Mallory16 on May 22, 2006, 05:27:00 PM
All right... for some reason, Alfie feels it's the toaster for the sole reason that I'm hosting.  Why?  I don't know.  But is he right?  Is the toaster half off?

*Image removed.

ding!

Yes!  It's $160!  Take away half the boxes!

*Image removed.

Now there are only eight boxes left, but let's make it easier by getting rid of half of those boxes.  Rich, please tell us about the next two prizes.

Rich:  Here we have the Nissan vacuum-insulated coffee press holds over a quart of coffee hot for hours.

And a pair of shoes from LifeStride, the women's Skimmer Dress Slingback are elegant high-heel shoes for those occasions that require the very best.

*Image removed.

Coffee press, $25.  Shoes, $30.  Which one is half off?
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 16--PG #1

Shoes.
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 16--PG #1

All right.  Are the shoes half off?

*Image removed.

bonk!

Ooh, no, you missed that one.  The coffee press was $50.  But we can still get it down to four boxes if you can get this last pair right, so Rich, do your magic!

Rich:  Of course.  The KSB5 5-speed blender from KitchenAid with a 40-ounce pitcher works at any speed.

And the Soleus Air 120-blade power fan comes with three fan speeds and three wind modes, all selectable via a convenient remote control.

*Image removed.

Blender, $65.  Fan, $48.  Again, which do you believe is half off?

bonk!

Oh, no, it was the blender that was half off.  The blender was $130.

*Image removed.

I won't lie, Alfie:  this is going to be tough.  Only one of those eight boxes have the $10,000 you seek.  So just tell me which box you think it is, and cross your fingers!

The lovely Holly is now carefully putting box #13 on the stand, and is going to bring it over to us.

*Image removed.

Normally, this is the part of the game where you would lift off the lid, but considering that doesn't work very easily on a message board, I'll just do that myself, and if this box has $10,000, when I lift this lid, it'll all just come pouring all over the floor, where you can swim in all the money!

Ooh, let's hope your luck here is good, Alfie.  Now, I'll count 1, 2, 3, now, and when I say now, I want me to lift this lid... I need to do this just right too, because that camera is going to get my--err, your reaction, and we want this to look good!  Are you ready?  Am I ready?

1...

2...

3...

NOW!

*Image removed.

bonk!  TPiR losing horns play.

No, it's empty I'm afraid.  Where was the money, anyway?

*Image removed.

It was in box #11.  Alfie, I'm sorry.  We'll try again after this.

***

I was just talking to our producer a moment ago--in other words, I was talking to myself--and he told me that box #13 would have been the one empty box to stay up there no matter how well he played, so considering that, it might be good that Alfie didn't do too well with the small prizes.  But now, Rich, we need another player!

Rich:  How about Doughnut?  Come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

Take your spot, and now, here comes the Price is Right tugboat with the next item up for bids.

TOOT!  TOOT!

Rich:  And the Price is Right tugboat is bringing out a cool cooler.  From Garage Toys, this Coca-Cola Jr. ice chest cooler has a chip and rust resistant powder coated finish, embossed with the Coca-Cola log on all four sides, and is made of steel with an aluminum insulated liner, and measures 36 inches high by 25 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

And Doughnut, start the bidding!

Madonna:  $700
PriceFanArmadillo:  $801

And the actual retail price of the Coke cooler is...

$750, and Maddy wins!  And Maddy, I want you to follow me up to the turntable for our second pricing game, and I want you to win that prize.

Rich:  A fun new snowmobile.  The Yamaha RS90 Vector GT snowmobile is a fun ride to go out in the snow, without the need for a one-horse open sleigh.

And Maddy, you're going to play a very easy game.  Why, some would even call it a push over:  I know I do!

*Image removed.

Now, what I want you to do is to start pushing these blocks, so that the four digits in the price of the snowmobile appear in the blue window.  At that point, you should stop pushing.  If you stop at the right time, and the right price for the snowmobile winds up in that blue window, you win it!

Now, as you push, some of the block may fall over the edge, into that yellow box.  Once a block falls down there, you can't get it back; that box goes all the way to China.  If you like, you can look down that box, and see all the people there, and wave hi if you like!

Anyway, Maddy, get over there and start pushing!

And Maddy, you have a price of $9188 in that window, and if that's right, you will be driving home in your new snowmobile!  Or maybe not, but still, you might be able to go to the mountains and have fun, or something.  Will she?

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

Yes it is, and that is your snowmobile, Maddy, congratulations!  More after this!

Rich, we need another player!

Rich:  And another player I shall provide with LiteBulb88, come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

And now, Britey, here comes the lovely Janice, badly playing our next item up for bids.

Rich:  Take cover as the lovely Janice plays this exciting trombone.  The Jupiter 528S B-flat valve trombone is silver plated with hand-lapped nickel-silver valves, a lacquered brass body, and a wood frame case.

And Britey, you get the first bid.

Bids are in, and the actual retail price of the random trombone is...

$1475, and Doughnut wins!  And Doughnut, I want you to come over with me to our giant price tag, where we have the day's third game, for something great!  Now Doughnut, with all the fun we've been having today, before now, I still haven't tried to give away one of these!

Rich:  A new car!  A Toyota Carolla CE sedan, a great car to ride around in to get here and there and everywhere in between.  Comes with standard features, it's a Toyota Carolla!

And you will win that, we hope, playing Pocket Change.

*Image removed.

Now, just to make the game a little bit tougher, we are going to give you the first number for free, so please light that up for Doughnut.

*Image removed.

ding!

It's 1.  Now, do you see the price tag on the car over there?

*Image removed.

Your eyes are not deceiving you:  we truly are selling that car for a mere 25¢.  And look what we have right here, for you!

*Image removed.

You are starting this game already with 25¢ in hand!  Unfortunately, you can't buy the car just yet.  We have to find out the actual retail price of the car first, just because I'm a big meanie head.  You'll guess the price one digit at a time.  Each time you guess right, you get to take an envelope off the board.  Each time you guess wrong, we raise the selling price of the car by 25¢.  Why?  Again, I'm a big meanie head.

So now, with all that in mind, Doughnut, tell me the second number in the price of that car!

No.  Raise that car's price to 50¢!

*Image removed.

All right, and I hope you've done well with the envelopes, again.  Now, as you recall, at the start of the game I gave you this 25¢.

*Image removed.

And now, we'll put that 25¢ on the board.

*Image removed.

ding!

*Image removed.

Now, the car price is $2.00, so you must have at least $1.75 in these four envelopes to win the car.  And you're not allowed to use your own pocket change in your pants pocket either.  Now, in this envelope, we have...

*Image removed.

A dime.  That brings you up to 35¢.

*Image removed.

ding!

And in the next envelope, we have...

*Image removed.

Another dime, bringing you to 45¢.

*Image removed.

ding!

And going on, in this envelope is...

*Image removed.

75¢, bringing you up to...

*Image removed.

ding!

Darn.  Still only $1.20.  So you need 80¢ in this last envelope to win, and there is only one amount left on the board that can do it:  the Dobstopper.  If this last envelope contains the Dobstopper, then you--wait, I'm sorry, I got that wrong.  It's called the $2.00 card, apparently.  But either way, if this final envelope has that $2.00 card, then you will be driving down the streets of Dunkin' and Krispy, showing off your new wheels, and maybe some crullers.  It is...

In this final envelope...

That I'm about to look into...

Is it $2.00...

It's stuck... it's stuck... it's... there!

*Image removed.

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

Yes!  Yes!  The $2.00 card!  You didn't have to worry about that stupid ol' price all along, 'cause you had the $2.00 card, congratulations, our little glazed friend!  Showcase showdown #1 next!

*Image removed.

***

And with me I have Doughnut, I have Madonna, and I have Alfonzo, ready to spin the big wheel!  If you get $1.00 in one spin, or a combination of two spins, you win $1000 and a bonus spin.  If the wheel lands on one of the two green sections in your bonus spin, you win $5000 more.  But if it stops on the $1.00 in your bonus spin, you win $10,000 more, for a total of $11,000!  Not only that, but the one of you closest to $1.00 without going over will be in the showcase at the end of the show, where you can win... uh... stuff?

Anyway, Doughnut, as you have won the most in this half of the show, you will be spinning last.  Madonna, you're second, and Alfonzo, you get to start us off!  Just choose a number from 1-20 to spin!

I dunno' how much you have to do with offering boots, Maddy... I've been trying to come up with different prizes for the show.  Maybe some influence, I dunno'.  But who won these particular boots?  The actual retail price of the boots is...

$1375, and Crimson wins!  And Crimson, I want you to follow me back to the big doors where we have a prize for you to try to win, and here it is.

Rich:  A wonderful trip to the Bahamas.  You and a guest will fly round-trip to Nassau of the Bahama Islands via Air Jamaica for a six-night stay at the Holiday Inn, where you'll enjoy the relaxing beaches and overall ambiance of the Bahamas.

And Crimson, you will be going to the Bahamas if you correctly place these numbers side by side.

*Image removed.

Now, if you move the numbers side by side this way, you get a price of $6184.  But if you move the numbers side by side this other way, you get a price of $8461.  So go over there and put those numbers side by side.

Very well.  Crimson has placed the numbers side by side to form a price of $6184 for that trip, and if that's right, Crimson, you'll be on your way to the Bahamas!  Is he a winner?

*Image removed.

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

Yes, and you, my red friend, are going to the Bahamas!  Have fun, Crimson!  There's more Price is Right coming up!

Rich:  Stay tuned for more pricing games and the fabulous showcases which are coming up on the second half of The Price is Right!

***

Now Rich, we have had a pretty darn good day so far.  Three games out of four won so far, and if all goes well, we have have a 5-out-of-6er on our hands, so Rich, think carefully for a moment, and then call--

Rich:  jjc92... jjc94... jj85xq... JayC, come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

And take your spot, Jay, and up on the turntable we have the next item up for bids.

Rich:  Up on the turntable we have a useful roller cabinet.  The Waterloo Magnum series combo tool chest has a 5-drawer top chest plus an 8-drawer rolling cabinet, measuring 36 inches wide by 21 inches deep by 35.5 inches high.

And Jay, you start the bidding.

JayC:  $560
LiteBulb88:  $675
PriceFanArmadillo:  $800
Garvin8r:  $801

And the actual retail price of the cabinet is...

...the same as our old multi-colored living room friend, it's $3058, and that means Garvin wins!  And Garvin, I want you to follow me to the giant price tag, where we will play a game for a spectacular prize!  Now Garvin, I know we just gave one away not too long ago, but I'm feeling quite generous, and I want to give away another one of these!

Rich:  A new car!  A Scion TC coupe, a great car for the open road.  Comes with standard features, 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, carbon fiber engine cover, car cover, all-weather mats, door sill enhancements, ground effects kit, auto dimming mirror, rear pedestal spoiler, and EMX Super 7 18"x7.5" alloy wheels, a Scion coupe!

And here come the dice for the Dice Game.  Now, what is the first number in the price of that car?

*Image removed.

ding!

2!  That is a $20,000+ automobile you are playing for here.  Now, what I want you to do is to roll one of the four dice here, one for each of the last four numbers in the price of the car.  If you roll the exact number, then great!  If not, then you must guess whether the actual number is higher or lower than the number on the die.  Now, to help you out, I will remind you that there are no numbers in the price of the car higher than 6, and there are no zeros in the price of the car.

Now, with all that in mind, roll one of the dice over the line, and let's hope it's the second number in the price of the car!  To roll, call out a number from 1 to 6.  This is completely random on my part, what number rolls what on the die.

Wow, nearly $5,000 in one day!

Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 16--PG #5

And for your first roll, you have...

*Image removed.

A 6!  Is that right?

bonk!

No, but we don't care; we know it's lower!

*Image removed.

ding!

All right, next of the dice, over the line.

*Image removed.

Another 6!  Is that right?

bonk!

No, but again, who cares!  We know it's lower!

*Image removed.

ding!

You're in great shape here; just keep it up!  Roll the next die!

*Image removed.

You're rolling great numbers!  Is it 1?

dingdingdingding!

Yes it is!

*Image removed.

Look at this.  Will ya' look at this!  We gave you the first number, we know the second number is lower, we know the third number is lower, you rolled the fourth number... if you can roll a 1, a 6, or the exact number, you won't have to worry about a single thing!  You'll have it made!  So do it!  Do it!

*Image removed.

A 3.  Has Garvin won that car!

bonk!

No, I'm afraid you weren't quite that lucky, but it's only one choice you have to make.  So do you believe that final number is higher or lower than 3?
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 16--PG #5
Post by: Garvin8r on May 26, 2006, 12:47:51 AM
I believe that's lower than three.
And win or lose, I don't care.  I just can't believe I rolled two sixes and a one and didn't have to make a decision on the middle number (the second six).

He went against the odds, but then, what do I know?  That might serve him well, but we'll get to that later.  Now, we gave him the first number, he rolled the fourth number, we know the second number is lower than 6, light it up.

*Image removed.

ding!

And we know the third number is lower than 6, light it up.

*Image removed.

ding!

Now, you went against the odds here, for some reason.  If it's a 4, 5, or 6, you'll lose... but then, if it's a 1 or a 2, you still win.  Any particular reason you went against the odds?  A hunch?  Or you don't trust our producer?  Well, let's see:  light up that last number!

*Image removed.

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

It's 1, and you win that $21,111 automobile, congratulations!  And that, my friends, is undeniable proof that I'm not rigging anything here :-P!  Back after this.

Now Rich, we have had four games out of five won, including that very unexpected Dice Game win.  And it doesn't look like we can count on Army, who seems to be having a surprisingly off day here.  Rich, can you help us make it a 5-out-of-6er?

Rich:  I'll try, Frank, with shellgame69, come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

And take your spot, shelly, and Kathleen, come on down, wearing our next item up for bids.

Rich:  And the lovely Kathleen is wearing a brilliant diamond ring.  From Jewelry Days, this blue sapphire and diamond ring has a half carat of TW princess-cut diamonds, a 7 millimeter by 5 millimeter emerald-cut blue sapphire, and 14 karot white gold, making for an absolutely stunning ring.

C'mon Frank, no faith in me?  Even though I have the last bid (again)?  I guess I'll have to prove myself all over again...sorry, I was too busy griping, could you repeat the bids please?  :-D

Cocky much, Army?  Hmph.  Anyway, the actual retail price of the diamond ring is...

$3149, and Army has escaped from contestants' row!  And just stand right beside me, Army, and your prize is right over there!

Rich:  It's a lovely bedroom group.  From Broyhill, the 100th Anniversary bedroom group makes for a great ambiance while you're dozing off for the night in style.  And for a comfortable night's sleep, the Comfortaire Royal Duchess sleep set will allow comfort to meet with beauty for an impeccible combination.  It's a prize package worth $8762!

And I will sell you that lovely dining room group for a mere 1¢.  If you have a mere 1¢ by the end of the game, you will be the proud owner of that great living room!

*Image removed.

And here are the three Price is Right pennies you will be using to play Penny Ante.  And you can't play if you don't know the products in today's game, so Rich, if you please.

Rich:  All right Frank, first we have this, a 16 oz. bag of Starburst Tropical fruit chews.  It used to have tropical punch, the only flavor anyone cared about.  Now that it's been replaced with royal berry punch, there's no reason to even bother getting these anymore.

And second, a 1.62 oz. jar of McCormick's Gourmet Collection ground black pepper, to flavor all your favorite dishes.  This sentence is here only to make the plug for this product longer, because really, this whole sentence here is otherwise completely useless.

*Image removed.

Now we'll start with the Starbursts.  Are those Starbursts $2.69, $3.29, $2.39, or $2.99?  Get it right and we move on to the pepper.  Get it wrong and you give me back a penny.  So what is your first choice, Army?

Rich:  Contestants not appearing on stage will receive and now, back to our showcase showdown!

Thank you, Rich... I think you had a page missing from your script there.  But here I have Garvin8r, CrimsonViper, and PriceFanArmadillo, ready to spin the big wheel!  If you get $1.00 in one spin, or a combination of two spins, you win $1000 and a bonus spin.  In the bonus spin, if the wheel lands on one of the two green sections, you win $5000 more.  But if it lands on $1.00 in your bonus spin, you win $10,000 more, for a total of $11,000!  Not only that, but the one of you nearest to $1.00 without going over will be in the showcase at the end of the show, where you can win imaginary prizes!

Now Garvin8r, as you have won the most in this half of the show, you will be spinning last.  CrimsonViper, you're second, and PriceFanArmadillo, you will start us off whether you like it or not.  Just call a number from 1 to 20 to spin.

CrimsonViper, you are the top winner in today's showcase!  Alfonzo, you are the runner-up!  Each of you will have a showcase filled with beautiful prizes to bid on; the one of you closer to the actual retail price of your own showcase without going over will win it.  But if you are the winner, and are $250 or less away from the retail price of your own showcase, we will happily give you both showcases!

Now Crimson, as the top winner, you have the option of either bidding on showcase #1, or passing that to Alfonzo, and waiting for showcase #2.  Now gentlemen, feast your eyes on showcase #1!

Rich:  This showcase starts with a lovely living room group.  The carolinachair.com Crawford living room group makes for a beautiful living arrangement in your most guest-entertaining room in the house for your afternoon tea parties and other such nonsense.

And after living... living-ing?  After doing random stuff in your living room, you can take a ride in your brand new car!  The Chevy Aveo SVM, it's a car, and it does car-like things.  Like it can be driven, and it can be stopped, and it has doors that can be open or closed.  Comes with standard features, 5-speed manual transmission, and 1.6 liter engine.  And this showcase can be yours if The Price is Right!

And Crimson, are you bidding on this showcase, or are you passing it to Alfonzo?

Finally done, Alfie, or would you like to change your mind again?  And I see that if Joe were to jump off a bridge, so would you.

Ah well.  Crimson, this is your showcase!

CHOO!  CHOO!

Rich:  This showcase features prizes delivered to our pricelss train depot, and here she comes now, loaded with prizes, and on the first car we have a beautiful fireplace screen.  This fireplace screen from Oriental Furniture has a lovely black matte lacquer antique finish and is decorated with a delicate hand-painted mountain temple landscape.

And on the next flat car we have a great new television.  This 50-inch widescreen high-definition-ready DLP TV with PC input from Samsung has a gorgeous picture, and can even be used like a 50-inch computer monitor.

And at the end of the train, instead of a caboose, we have a grand piano.  From the Rawlings Music Company, this 6 foot 1 inch Victorian grand piano has a solid spruce soundboard, German hammers, 17-ply hard rock maple pinblock, and hardwood ribs and posts, for an exquisite piano for your very own home.  And this showcase, featuring prizes delivered to our priceless train depot, can be yours if the price is right!

And Crimson, what do you bid on it?

All right, and now, to find out who has won.  Is it Alfonzo?  Is it CrimsonViper?  We shall know in a moment.  Crimson, you bid $13,333 on your showcase.  And Crimson, the actual retail price of your showcase is...

$23,173, a difference of?

Well, a lot.  Alfie, you must be closer than $9840 without going over in order to win your showcase.  Alfie, you bid $13,013 on your showcase.  And Alfie, the actual retail price of your showcase IS!

$12,880, you're over, Crimson wins!

Alfie, I'm sorry you didn't win much today.  Just no luck at all with that dastardly 13 everywhere you went.

Crimson, you have won $31,732 in cash and prizes, including... um... that trip.  Ooh, and that piano!  Frank here, reminding you to help control the Pet population:  use Eagle brand instead.  Goodbye, everybody!

CrimsonViper:  $31,732
Garvin8r:  $24,169
Doughnut:  $16,380
Madonna:  $9938
PriceFanArmadillo:  $3149
Alfonzo:  $2645

*I bet slotting has to do with Dice Game being won.  Out of 16 episodes, game #5 was won in 14 of those episodes.  Probably would've been lost if I put it sixth, where in 16 episodes, it was lost 12 times.  Ah well.

*This is only the fourth time that the showcase winner came from the second half of the show.  It's also the first time that the person who played game #4 won the showcase, so now at least one showcase winner has come out of every slot!

Thank you Frank for putting on, once again, an excellent-blitzing-less-than-one-week! show.  I originally wanted to bid $22,222, but I somewhat got talked out of it (and from past experience, the Showcases were usually cheap).

Good game Alfie, and may you be luckier next time around.  Try using #5s, for instance. ;-)

9 PM:  Frank is on IUFB 6.
12:30 AM:  Frank is done with the show.

How does that work, especially when you need three people from earlier in the show to come back for the end?

Another excellent show, Frank...

If you plan on offering more boots as IUFB's, I have some to recommend to you. :-P

13 just didn't seem to work for you this show, did it Alfonzo? :-?

Stranger was the fact that it started 5/22 at precisely midnight and ended at 1:30 Today. Hmm.. :-?

Man, Alfonzo, 13 just didn't work. :-?   Just as unlucky as Leyla's EVIL case, which most of the time has super amounts or even $1,000,000, spelling doom for contestants and excitment for the banker.

Frank, that had nothing to do with it.  I was determined to win that, no matter what it took.  I had a decent chance of winning Penny Ante as well, as I had guessed 2.99 first.  You ran into a contestant who wanted to win, and that's all there is to it.

Frank, great job as always!  Should The Dob ever retire, they should find you to take his job...there certainly wouldn't be any budget issues caused by too many wins :-).

Then slotting had everything to do with it :-P.  If I switched Penny Ante and Dice Game, you would have still been playing the game in the fifth slot, so yeah, I'd say the fifth slot is just a lucky slot, or something.  An "unwinnable" That's Too Much was won in that slot as well, several shows ago.

I can almost assure you that I will.  Certain prizes are more fun to use than others, and I get a kick looking for boots :-)!
