Math and Sidey were easy wins and that was a terrible bailout on Bee.

TiM, however...(sighs)...This probably wouldn't have happened if Ayesha was playing IITB, Grand, Rent, Punchy, 1/2 Off, or Plinko. At least with one of those cashers, she would have a excuse to look at the nuts.*

THE BOTTOM LINE:

A poor 2/6-er.

*Putting the dryer sheets first and the middle didn't help, either...Those were too expensive to be $2.99 and/or $3-$5.99.

Hi,

This is the second day in a row that Drew has irked me.  Maybe I'm not as much of a supporter of him as I think I am lol...

It came about because of squeeze play, but it's been in the back of my mind for a while.   We know that many of the games are variations on the same concepts, but saying that on-air instead of going with the premise of the game just ruins all the charm of the games.

A recent example is Swap Meet.  Before even saying anything else, he said, 'this is the same price as one of these things'.  None of the 'we want you to take that to a swap meet...' shtick that makes it charming.

He does this all the time on Shopping Spree.  He says 'just pick the three highest'.  YES that's true but NO... it really needs to be 'we want you to go on a shopping spree'... otherwise why even have sets and names for the games?

It happened again today with Squeeze Play.  I LIKE when he says 'It's a nice trip bit it's not $174,000'.  But he didn't do that today.  Instead, it was 'take out a number to make it right'.  None of the 'remaining numbers will squeeeeeze together' shtick.

Yet on same games, he embraces the name and 'fluff' and doesn't ruin it by stripping it down to the basic concept.  Stack the Deck comes to mind.  He always mentions that 'you can stack the deck in your favor'....

I hope I've explained what I'm getting at well enough... Anyone feel the same way?

I guess it boils down to his mood and whether or not he likes the particular game. He is never less than enthusiastic over It's In The Bag, for example. I would agree that it's nice when he adds a little flavor to his description, as in "Make Your Move" when he says "it's like solving a puzzle" when he might say "Move the sliders under the correct prizes."

Agreed.  When he's good, he can be GREAT.  When he's bad, it's pretty darned bad. This is maddening inconsistency, which while way better than early years, is disturbing to still be the case 8 years in.

Why so negative --- after 8 years, aren't we just to the point of that is the way Drew is?

Personally I loved the 2 "The Gong Show" references today.     After Squeeze and Any Number.

That was a truly painful bailout in Spelling Bee, but $3,000 is nothing to be sad about.

Lately, Time is Money is showing that it deserves to be played for $20,000. Even 1 trap grocery is going to make it hard to win a lot of money, and today's playing had two in the antacid and dryer sheets.

Even though there were only 2 full wins, a fairly enjoyable episode.

I don't think the Spelling Bee bailout was so terrible.

Yes it was sad that she had the CAR card, but after 2 A's I don't think many people would have gone for it anyway.

She probably made an extra $2,000 out of it.

Much as I couldn't stand "The Gong Show", I did find it endearing that Drew made two references to the show.

Quite often Drew's rule explanations are indeed "vanilla".  He does do a good job when Push Over is played I think.

Part of not being more intricate with some of the game rules/details might be due to time constraints.

I'm far more irked with the overacting of the already seemingly hyper contestant pool.  Just allow the contestants to be themselves.

Do the Math is one of my favorite new games, and probably my favorite 2 prize quicky game.  I consider it a 2 prize quicky, although the cash is a prize too, so in theory that could be considered a 3 prize quicky game.

I wish Spelling Bee would have 4 small prizes instead of 3, and that each would have one right price and one wrong price given.  The last small prize would have 3 possible prices, and getting the right price on the first try would earn 2 cards, the second try 1 card.

I tried to predict which six games were going to be played, I only got one right "Any Number".

Thank you for all these recaps, especially since I don't have a DVR.
