Bidding Round #1- #220, Julie (http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/8356/220julie530068ss.jpg)! And I tell you, she looks just like Natasha Bedingfield. That's a very good thing. :-D

It's In the Bag- If they can't fit the cat food in the bag, then why is it up there?!

Pathfinder- Not played very well, to say the least.

Clock Game- From a good performance...

Any Number- ...to an excellent performance. He tore it up.

Bidding Round #6- #221, Chelsea (http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/4967/221chelsea530068oy.jpg)! :-D

Showcase- Lowball Week continues. Today's lowball bid brought to you by Bettysue.

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY- Very tough choice today. Once again, it's up to Frank.

SHOW SUMMARY AND GRADE- A pretty good show today. Nothing too spectacular, but it was just an overall fun show... Grade: 3

Brandon did rock indeed, blowing through Clock Game, winning $11,000 in the second SS and getting his Showcase. It's always a pleasure to see our boys in uniform do well on the show.

Interesting lineup today...  Newer stuff in the first half and old school for the second (although I guess Pathfinder can't exactly be called "newer stuff" at this point.)  Nice playings of Clock Game and Any Number too.

Flip Flop: Very easy. The audience agreed with me.

It's In The Bag: I wasn't sure about the last three bags, and I was glad he stopped at the right time.

Pathfinder: Well, so much for the little winning streak. With a car price like that, you needed to get all three small prizes to have had any shot at that. As it turned out, the second and third small prizes were tough to get. Furthermore, on all three small prizes, you had to choose the left price. Tricky, indeed. She was pretty much doomed after choosing the 7.

Clock Game: I found it neat that Brandon used Bob's name on each bid for the first prize.

Any Number: Impressive win! With a price like that, how the heck was he able to pull that out in just five picks? He must have watched this show a long time.

Double Prices: Tricky.

SSD2: Our 2nd $11,000 winner of the season!! Way to go, Brandon!

Showcases: Awful bid by Bettysue. This is NOT the 80s. That made Brandon's task easier.

Overall: Very good show today!

Flip Flop: This was rather tough for me, so I'm glad she won.

Baggy: ....I don't get it. He was actually thinking about the olive oil for the second bag? Although, he might have misheard the Capazin as cat food, still...

Pathy: This wasn't really a bad playing; just tough.

Clock Game: Nice work, Brandon. That was well played, Brandon. Spend your money wisely, Brandon.

Any Number: I hate it when the other 1 (or 2) is in the car price. Nice playing!

Double Prices: Again? Gah...... I wonder how many that did seat.

SCSD #2: AWESOME!

End: Darn! No full credit roll. Oh well....

I would not have won It's in the Bag today.  Even for a loyal viewer, having both $6.99 and $3.99 with the cat food is tricky, since the cat food is frequently either.  I picked the $6.99 for the cat food, since shampoo isn't usually that expensive.  I guess that turned out to be some sort of special shampoo.

I would have won Flip Flop, though the whole time, I kept thinking it looked too easy, and that Roger figured out some way to make the trip a lot cheaper than it looked.  Guess it's good not always to be too suspicious of Roger.  Of course, I'm sure that never entered Betty Sue's mind, so it's a moot point anyway.

I was surprised the first showcase was as cheap as it was.  The jukebox is like $8995, right?  If the kitchen stuff was around $2500-$3000, then the dining room and dinnerware was less than $6000.  I thought Broyhill stuff was usually more expensive than that.  Either way, abysmal bid on Betty Sue's part.  Even Mom said she should've bid at least $10,000:  as seldom as she watches, even she seems to have picked up that 4-digit showcases haven't been used in years.

Anyone else notice that the price cover in Double Prices got stuck?  You could still see the price, but it still looked bad.  A shame Bob didn't make any sort of comment about it.

Anyone else very surprised that the second showcase made a joke about butts ?

x9 claimed:  Worst Pathfinder player ever.

No.  You really need to think about what your saying before you make such a claim; there have been Pathfinder contestants who didn't even get off the first number, and missed all three small prizes.  Julie got one small prize, at least.  "Worst (name of game) playing ever" should be reserved for the absolute worst of the worst, like the Bonkers playing a few weeks ago where the contestant took almost the whole 30 seconds just to make her first guess.

Quote
Punchboard91 wondered:  Baggy: ....I don't get it. He was actually thinking about the olive oil for the second bag?

You'd be surprised... olive oil can easily go above $12.99, depending on the brand, and the "purity," for lack of a better word.

Albertsain.

It was great to see another $11,000 win on the Big Wheel.  It was very stupid to see Bettysue bid $6,500 on her showcase, though.

Flip flop: I would have said flop as well.

IITB: I would have trouble on the $6.99 bag.  I would have stopped at 4K.

Pathfinder: I had a hunch the zero was the second number.  I still can't believe that Julie didn't get off the 1st number or got the watch correct.

Clock Game: Great playing by brandon, although saying Bob over got old.

Any Number: Excellent playing for Dean.

Double Prices: I was thinking $6350 was correct.

Showcases: $6500?!  What year Bettysue thought she was in, 1987?  I would have said $15,000.

Overall: Another excellent show, due to brandon, Dean and the 11K won on the wheel.

Except that in all likelihood, the cat food was in the last (unrevealed) bag.  (We all know the olive oil's $5.49, right?)

Excellent show today, despite some not so good moments at times.

I suppose I might be in the minority here, but I did not particularly like Albertsain that much.  He had no mind of his own playing Bag, and his demeanor in general just kinda got on my nerves.

On the other hand, Bag was tough today.  The first two bags should have been easy for anybody, but the last three were tough.  I managed to figure out the 4 and 8K bags, but of course we'll never officially know what was in the 16K bag, even though I'm fairly certain that it was the cat food.

Apparently Julie shops for her vans at Beverly Hills Dodge-Chrysler (I don't know if one actually exists, but you get the point).

Clock Game was fun today, and Brandon played very well.  You can't blame him for trying to be respectful to Bob by saying his name after every guess, he's in the service, that's the way he's been taught to conduct himself!

Dean, in my opinion, was far and away the best contestant of the day.  He played Any Number better than I can remember any contestant doing it in recent memory, and he even remembered the other 1!  I think that many contestants tend to forget that the first digit in the car's price can be used again even though Bob reminds them.  Also, Dean wasn't a showoff type, but a very likeable guy.  I think he was (and is) a LFAT, and very much deserved to win!

Even Double Prices was fun today, Bob was in classic form when he wanted to investigate the spa to see how many people it can hold!

Brandon winning the 11,000 in the 2nd SCSD topped the show for me today, it was already a great show going into that segment, but the big win made it even better!

Like yesterday's show, today's show was also very good.

As always, it was great to see Pathfinder, even though it was tough, resulting in its first loss in a while.

I don't think it was really necessary for Brandon to say Bob's name after his guesses, but he won, so it didn't matter.

The Any Number win was quite impressive.

PG #1 - Roger made Flippy very easy today.  South Asian trips are notoriously expensive.

PG #2 - That $8,000 bag was hard today.  Any one of those three remaining products--shampoo, cat food, or olive oil--could easily have been $6.99.  I picked the olive oil, unfortunately.  :-(

PG #3 - Pathy again?  And back-to-back with Baggy in the first half?  I don't know how Julie didn't get off that first number.  After the 3 was gone, the 0 was the obvious second number.  No excuse for anybody to think that a Dodge Caravan is worth $27,000.

PG #4 - That "$xxx, Bob" could've cost him a win, but he played the game well regardless of that.  $1,200 for a piece of Ashley furniture?  LOL!

PG #5 - Good!  Somebody knows to pick "the other 1" in Any Number!  :-)  So he won't go home with that piggy bank, or even worse, that Ashley furniture.  :-P  :-P  :-P

PG #6 - A perfect second half!  It's been quite a while since we've seen a perfect half.

SCSD #2 -  :-o  :-o  :-o  ANOTHER $11,000 WINNER!  Almost an entire season without a single $11,000 winner and we get two this month!  Add that to the rest of the exciting wins in the past month and I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts that May 2006 is one of the best months of shows we've seen in a very long time.

Showcases - Rotten bid, Betty Sue!  And there's that same Reinell ski boat that we say on yesterday's postponed show.

My bids - Starcrossed:  $16,800.  FRBS:  $29,600.

Interesting show today, and 3 1972 games in the same half!  :-)

Flip Flop: Easy enough.

It's In The Bag: Okay, there may be $12.99 olive oil, but Capzasin sure fits a lot better.  I was quite mixed up between the shampoo, the glad, and the cat food.

Also, it has to be said: that shot of the Glad Wrap was terrible!

Pathfinder: Okay, Julie was definitely not the worst player ever, but it was pretty rough.  Still, $30 seemed a bit cheap for the watch.

Clock Game: It was kinda funny how Bob got tripped up a bit after Brandon stopped saying Bob with every bid.

Again, I don't know why they showed half of Bob's head and the half of the clock with no numbers right after the first win.  :-?

Any Number: He sure knew how to play this game.  :-)

Double Prices: Since the price reveal got stuck, it apparently didn't know much about the hot tub either.

SCSD#2- Yay! We did it again!  :-D  :-D

Showcases: I liked the second SC.  I don't know what Bettysue was thinking (other than a long time ago).  But I'm glad Brandon won.

Ashley Winslow Kidney Desk/Chair
This is its first appearance on TPIR and I wonder what the actual price was.  Using the 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and the 9, there are twenty possible prices ranging from $423 to $498, in which only one of them is the actual retail price.

Wurlitzer One More Time Jukebox - $8,995

You know, that was just a feel-good show all around. Only one loss today, and this is another one that could go down in the books. How many times now has a Pathfinder player not escaped the first step? That was the only downer of the morning.

But then it seemed like momentum kept building up until we saw that $11,000 win on the Big Wheel. I know momentum is somewhat of a silly thing to mention, but when you get consecutive wins like that, and in the fashion they were won, I knew something big was coming later in the show.

Flip Flop was easy.  Both of the wrong prices looked way too low.

I had no idea what the last three bags were in It's in the Bag.

Brandon's saying "Bob" after every bid in Clock Game was interesting initially...but it kinda got annoying when he kept doing it every single time for the first prize.

Dean was clearly a loyal friend and true...he won Any Number in fine style.

Hehe...Double Prices broke! (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif)

And speaking of Double Prices, it was also funny when Bob walked over to take a closer look at the spa. (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

I really liked this show... Albertsain was a really fun contestant. I thought Dean played Any Number very well, not just because he won, but the way you could tell he must watch the show a lot.

It's always nice to see $11,000 won on the Big Wheel, too.

Look, we're not saying it wasn't bad.  But to say it was worse than every single other Pathfinder playing in the 19 years of the game's life... yes.  That's utterly ridiculous.  There have been worse playings of Pathfinder before.

Flip Flop: Trips to Asia are expensive, which makes this an easy Flop.

It's in the Bag: I guess we all knew for a fact that the Cat Chow was not $6.99. I wonder what made him to believe that.

Pathfinder: This game was a trap ever since Julie made her first step!

Clock Game: All those bids made me want to say, "That's just how I bid, Bob."

Any Number: It's been a while since I've seen someone win by picking the other 1. Almost an exacta, but great enough.

Double Prices: Sometimes ya gotta do what it takes to make a dull game interesting. If it depends on the capacity or not, I would've picked $5125.

Something made me think there was an edit/recreation when Bob pointed out Brandon's Bonus Dollar. Maybe it's me. Speaking of Brandon, I thought I would see a big total at the end. It's a good thing now that it should have been a corrected total.

You'd be surprised... olive oil can easily go above $12.99, depending on the brand, and the "purity," for lack of a better word.

but not the kind used on this show. 1 liter of carapelli olive oil has been $5.49 for a long time. when was the last time you saw any other price?
