Bidding Round #1- #197, Tammy (http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/8210/197tammy59063ep.jpg)! :-D

Showcase Showdown #1- This time, the Big Wheel kills off the hottie and the best contestant of the day. Sigh.

Any Number- Ouch. Always hate those Any Number losses on 4th and goal at the 1.

Showcase- Curse those close together ARPs!

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY- Tammy, as previously mentioned.

SHOW SUMMARY AND GRADE- Average show... Grade: 2

All I have to say is yay Shell Game! The fact that they don't play it that often makes it extra special when they do. Decent show otherwise

Tammy seemed kind of insane. Not the "jump all over the stage" or "hurt Bob" kind of insane most contestants are, but she just seemed... insane, with her odd little quips to Bob, her shrieking "HIGHER!," and seeming flightiness. She was fun!

Speaking of Tammy, as tiny as she was and still able to get the wheel all the way around, there seems to be little excuse for any other young contestants not to be able to do it!

I was hoping the first half car game would be for a cheap car. It would've been cool if the contestant who won the car wasn't the biggest winner in the first half of the show. Over $19,000 worth of trips in Most Expensive... that's got to be really close to a daytime record for prize value in pricing games not including games for cars, Golden Road, or Plinko.

Twice today I thought the game was going to be Bullseye again, just because Roger could. Actually, Bullseye again would've been cooler than Now or Then, anyway.

So I guess John proves to us all once and for all that you can be a beach bum without wearing flip flops, since he pretty much admitted it himself.  Nice guy, anyway.

Krystian looked like she would be fun, too. Just not meant to be, I guess.

EDIT:  My post seemed to have earlier made itself into one large, ugly paragraph.  I'm guessing it's another forum bug.

Did everyone notice that Rob's shirt said something about "Bob Barger"?

Most Expensive: MONSTER win here! I thought Rio was going to be it.

Lucky Seven: When they showed the Mustang, I knew it was going to be lost. The only thing I was hoping for here was a WIPEOUT on the first pick, because it was possible to happen, especially because people tend to overprice these. Sadly, it didn't happen (The price was $21,384).

Shell Game: Nice to see it appear, and won!

Balance Game: Another surprise win! That guess looked too expensive.

Now or Then: Easy.

Any Number: I thought the Jeep was going to slightly more expensive than it was, since they've adjusted prices for Damsler/Chrysler prices recently. Today, they didn't realize that. If it had been that way, Rob might have had a better shot at the Jeep.

Showcases: If only both had said $19,000....

Overall: Average today. If only they had picked better car games...

Yes!  Shell Game is Played. :-D  :-D And I'm very happy that it is won!

Others:

Most Expensive:  I thought Hong Kong was the cheapest and Venice was the costliest.

Lucky 7: EVIL!

Balance Game:  I thought $8995 was too expensive.

Now or Then:  Easy; I guessed Roger wanted it won.

Any #: I had a hunch that the other 1 would be in the jeep, and I was right. :-?

Showcases:  I thought Rob's $16,000 wouldn't cover the boat.  I was wrong.

Overall: Aside from Shell Game, it was a fairly average show.

All the good stuff today happened in the first half of the show.

Wow, Most Expensive for 3 trips!  Maybe that Triple Play loss on Friday brought this on.  :-)  And for a total of almost $20K in prizes?!  Those trips were expensive, no doubt about that.  Got a bit nervous as the first two trips' prices were revealed, but Hong Kong trumped all.  Lovely win.

And for once, no one guessed a 6 or something for the second digit in the Mustang!  Amazing!  :-P  And that's too bad she didn't win; for sure I thought her guess on the third digit was plausible... I suppose not, then.  (Then again, I keep on thinking Mustangs are always $21,684  :-P )

Shell Game was a pleasant surprise.  Somehow, I don't know why, I had a feeling it was going to show up.  Good suspense in the end with the two remaining shells.

That's one heck of an expensive TV and storing unit.  I think I need one of those.  The lowering platform for the TV was neat.

Do people tend to forget that another 1 or something appears on the board?  I thought that couch was $760, but it was a no brainer to not pick 0 as the last digit in the jeep anyways.  Too bad it didn't work out for him.

Interesting Showcase 1.  Great acting, and an even crazier voiceover from Rich.  :-)  I thought if the bids got switched, they'd both have a better chance of winning.  Shows how little I know about boats.

Most Expensive for trips is awesome enough...but the ones offered today were worth almost $20,000!

And Shell Game is awesome, obviously...but in the first half, and not first?  Amazing.

I really hope Bart quits using that stupid close-up shot of the Turntable soon.  It looks awful.

On the other hand, the long-range shot he took of Any Number was pretty neat.

Rich was hilarious during the first showcase. :-)

I originally thought it was an embarrassing typo, but it actually meant that he has a grandfather named Bob Barger, I believe.

I think the shirt had a tee-hee value out of it.

The highlight of this show was all the stuff being offered.  $19,610 in Most Expensive, $5900 in Shell Game being the cheapest game of the 6.  The "Hi Lo TV set" which always amuses me (which I thought was 5-figures) and some killer bikes in SC2.

I wonder if Rich Fields would moonlight as a voice-over actor in his spare time.....

I think today's playing of Most Expensive offered the most expensive prizes ever offered in the daytime version of this game. Very good win!

It's always nice to see Shell Game played!

Is this the first time that Balance Game is played on the same day as a small prize game?

If only Range Game was played today instead of Balance Game, all the pricing games today would have been around since 1980 or earlier.

PG #1 - Wow--Most Expensive for three expensive trips!  I got scared when the Rio price was revealed cuz I know that Hong Kong has been notoriously cheap in the past.  Good thing it wasn't the case today.

PG #2 - Lucky 7 in the 2d slot!  :-D  For a Mustang!        I would've been in trouble in this game as well.  I had 2-7-7, which would've left me $1 for the final digit.

PG #3 - Yay!  Shell Game!  :-P  Shelly joins Markers and Poker as the games that have seen just 4 playing this season.  Joker is the only game that has seen fewer (2).

PG #4 - Balance Game 4th!  :-D  I actually would've lost this game today.  I had $7,995.  This game has been on a mini-hot streak lately.  Isn't this now the third time in a row Balance has been won?

PG #5 - Looks like Roger used only one THEN product today.  When was the last time only one THEN product was used in a Now/Then playing?

My showcase bids - FRSBS:  $18,400.  Random room/motorcycles:  $19,900.

Poor Karen. That was a tough game of Lucky $even.

Now...or Then seemed easy even for me.

Balance Game was a tough call, but a great win.

Any Number: I knew he needed the other one.

No... Secret "X" was played on the same day as Balance Game's premiere.

On the February 20th show, Bonus Game played 1st with Balance Game in the line-up.

Also on February 28th, Shell Game & Balance Game were played on the same show (just like today).

Missed today's show(didn't set vcr -- my own fault!) but 20k for the 3 trips in most expensive? Sounds like that should have been saved for a MDS special.

And 8995 for the price in Balance sounds like the most expensive win in that game also. Not a bad budget from the sounds of it for sure.

Today's show was pretty good.

It was neat to see Most Expensive being played for three trips, but what was extra cool was that the total was over $19,000!

It's always nice to see Shell Game being played.

Cool show today.  I liked that game lineup!   :-D

Most Expensive: Sweet, $20K worth of trips.  I got worried after seeing $6668 for Rio.  But guessed Hong Kong and won.

Lucky Seven: 2nd slot, eh?  And another attack of the yellow Mustang       .  I went with $21,679.

Shell Game: NICE!  :-D Didn't see that one coming.

Balance Game: I spaced out and thought we were playing for a spa, so I liked his $8995.  I'm glad for the mistake.

Now Or Then: I'd thought Roger always had 2 thens, so that would've thrown me off.  Still, not too hard.

Any Number: I had a feeling the Jeep would need the other 1.

Showcases: Nice old lady voice by Rich. :-)

My bids:

1st showcase: $19,100 (ugh)
2nd showcase: $16,500

Most Expensive: Whenever we play for three trips, I always like to get close to the TV when I watch it. Fun. Maybe because of the ol' PYL PC game, I picked Hong Kong.

Lucky Seven: I thought Mustangs like that was going to be around $23K--even Karen did. Well, I guess $21K is a minimum. Picking those high numbers were just unlucky.

shell game: Even if mp3 players like that are sold at Wal-Mart, I would still say higher than $75. Now I came to the point where the object of the game is to "chip the damn thing." (Using those words because I was thinking of that infamous win.)

Balance Game: I was going to use the $3K and $4K bag at first, but something wanted me to root for John's choices instead.

now... or then: I flubbed on the Poli-Grip and Blue Star. I got the stuff to make cake right, but I wonder how I'll do with the other two products.

Any Number: Can I call when it comes down to one number an implication? I knew it couldn't be 0. I think the (infamous) other 1 would work. Rob thinks it's 3. At least we both won something.  :-)

Most Expensive - I figured it was a toss up between Venice and Hong Kong. The harbor-view room in HK probably helped put that trip over the top, since good view = $$$$.

Lucky $even - I was leaning on that being a $23,000 Mustang as well. Oh well.

Shell Game - Niiiiiiiice  :-D  :-)  8-) . I spaced out for a second and went lower for the mp3 player.

Blanace Game - I thought he was over, too.

Now...or Then - March 1997...what a nice time that was. Anyway, I got tripped up by the Poligrip, and semi-tripped up by the cake mix (I haven't bought any since Christmastime so I wasn't totally sure of the prices, but the $1.55 felt a bit low).

Any Number - I think Rob's T-shirt reads "Bob Barger is my grandpa." I figured he needed the other 1.

Showcases - I actually overbid on a boat, for a change. I went $20,000 on that showcase. I would've bid $18,500 for the bedroom and motorcycle showcase. And a nice job by Rich doing the granny voices.

"When I was a kid, the models didn't have any newfangled tugboat to bring out the new luggage! They had to push it out themselves FIFTEEN miles across the stage! In the driving snow!"

Great show today!!! Great lineup of games!!! Can't ask for much more

Most Expensive: YAY!!!! for 3 trips that is. Wow, those trips were expensive. Great way to kick off a show with a w.

Lucky 7: That was ugly.

Shell Game: YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always glad to see Shelly come around. Tammy was awesome.

Balance Game: The win says it all for me.

Now or Then: Figured when Bob walked up to the turntable the car game would be 5th, when those big doors opened I figured gotta be Now or Then and it was. Not a tough playing.

Any Number: Ouch, at least he didn't win the piggy bank.

Wonder what tomorrow has in store? Guess we'll find out. Oh yeah, i'll predict Check Out as the GP game tomorrow and Secret X as the SP, i'll probably be wrong but who knows?

When they intend to play Most Expensive for trips, do they intentionally time it longer for scheduling purposes?

About one second after the camera zoomed past the lit-up One Bid displays toward Bob and Guy, you can hear a fairly audible click while Bob is talking. That's the sound of the One Bid display console's clear button being pushed, causing all of the number buttons to simultaneously pop into their unpressed positions, which makes that noise.

Eh, what's up, Doc?  This is Hector.  How are things going with you?
Well, I was watching yesterday's Showcases.  It was hilarious that Rich Fields provided the voices of the elderly ladies; but I wish that Phire Dawson and Brandi Sherwood would have provided their voices themselves.
Almost $20,000 in trips were won on Most Expensive!  It was amazing!  When I thought that the first 2 prices (over $5,000 and over $6,000 respectively) were revealed, I was very nervous.  It was a close call when the last price of over $7,000 was revealed!  What a win!
Those are just a couple of examples.  Overall, I would say that today's episodes helped me to overcome my depression a little.  Great episode.
Zoinks!  That will be all for now, but take care.  Th-th-th-that's all Folks!
