What I'm posting today is a fun, fun episode from April of '98 featuring a gaggle of winners!

4/23/98 (http://jasonsrecaps.livejournal.com/3640.html)

More to come on the page, including some internet episodes I did and a few I had the pleasure of performing at school. Ciao for now.

Joe's recap is gone?  That's a real shame -- it was much, much better than Plinko2000's.  In fact, I move that it be reposted.

I'd prefer that if someone wanted to recap an improved version of a recap that the old one be deleted.  It'd give me a few opportunities.

Thanks for the recaps, Jason.

Maybe the feathers that have ruffled in this case can inspire people to make things INTERESTING instead of just going through the motions.

As a general question, were Showcases regularly above $10,000 by 1998?

Not only regularly, but always.  Every showcase since 1998 has been over $10,000, and I'm almost positive that no showcase in all of Season 26 was under $10,000.

Okay.  I had a feeling that was the case, but that el cheapo showcase got me to wondering.

As a complete aside, I had always thought cheap Showcase rounds like those happened on Fridays.
