Hold on a moment. I know for a fact that at least 2 people besides Teddy and myself submitted Host Your Own scripts. Why, then, in an era of one show at a time in order to prevent the same people from hosting every time, is the same person hosting two of the last three shows, essentially skipping over everyone else? It seems like the main reason behind doing only one show - which, granted, I was vocally against in the first place - is being completely disregarded. This isn't to flame anyone; I want an honest answer as to why Teddy is getting a second turn before at least three other people who submitted scripts.

I'd like to note that this is in no way, shape, or form saying anything negative of Teddy. I always enjoy reading your shows and I'm sure this one will be great. In fact, I'd like to participate in this show.

The rule makes sense in the long run, given recent HYO trends, but if you are correct and there are other scripts waiting in queue, then perhaps that rule should be temporarily suspended. No offense to Teddy, but his last show did drag on for quite some time. If this show flows the same way, it would be nice to have a second one going in tandem. If more participation in this section is what we want, then I think the two-shows-at-a-time route is something to consider for the time being.

It would be nice to have a second show going in tandem anyway. Your show went historically quick; from experience, usually shows last about a month. Nevertheless, counting the week of administrative lag, the players who weren't called down have gone an entire month without an opportunity to play. That seems rather unfair.

And speaking of which, if we are going to have one game at a time (really, this is true regardless of how many games are going on), can we at least have the next show start sign-ups while the previous show is in the showcases? The fact that it was an entire week before the next show was posted completely kills the idea of having more participation. If another game was running, this might be excusable, but waiting an entire week, for whatever reason, is preposterous.

In the past, there were two shows going on concurrently, sometimes with a third show being hosted by whoever was moderating going on at the same time. I like the "one show at a time" thing, because it will give more people a chance to get their turns at hosting. Will Adam keep with tradition and host his own show alongside someone else's, or will the one at a time rule apply to those shows as well?

I waited through Renty's now-concluded show to see who the next host would be, and Adam told me to wait until Friday after TPIR to get new requests, so here I am! I would've waited for the other hosts to step ahead in line, and I do enjoy their shows, but maybe the better thing to do is to wait a month or two to prepare a script for the next show. We'll see how the new era goes, and good luck to my fellow hosts whose turns will come after mine has ended.

Seeing that you now have nine, I implore you to not delay this any longer. It's your show and your call, but other hosts are waiting, and delays like these aren't helping this section. Plus, I'm ready to play! :)

GEORGE: It's a trip to Palm Springs! Offers spectacular views of the majestic mountains, and is close to all the major shops and restaurants. Daily continental breakfast and one-hour spa session are included.

And if you win that, we go all the way to the end of the Golden Road, and we always have something nice at the end of the Golden Road. But to say that about tonight's prize would clearly be an understatement. In fact, this prize is one-of-a-kind, and we had to search high and low just to find it. Not only is it super-fabulous, it happens to be the most expensive prize ever offered on this show! (cheers) You won't believe it when I tell you that it is worth more...MORE!!!...than $235,000 in price! Open those doors and show them what it is!

...and we got it. (applause) So now you have $1,000 for that. This is a double-or-nothing game, because the next bag is worth $2,000 if you think the CD's are in the $14.99 bag. Or you can quit right now with the $1,000, because I need to remind you that if you're wrong at any time, you will lose everything. So what are you going to do?

With $8,000 on the line, we're going on! Of course, the ice cream has to be in this bag or the game is over. Let's see if it's there!

(hits button to reveal ice cream)

DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING!

(more cheers and applause)

And there it is! $8,000 for you, and now you have a big decision to make. Now usually on the daytime show, we'd have the final bag worth $16,000, but tonight it's worth $24,000, three times what you have right now. Just take a moment, and ask yourself "is it really worth it?" If the yogurt is in the last bag, you win $24,000, but if not, you lose this $8,000. And of course you can walk away with your $8,000 if you're not too sure. Now what are you going to do?

Well Teddy the last time I saw those eggs which was like a "while" ago they cost $2.19. Unless if the price for those eggs has since increased I am going to go for broke here! I'm pressing on Teddy! If I leave with nothing so be it!

You know, there is a consolation if you lose, you can make up for it at the Wheel. But let's not worry about that, it's all up to having that yogurt in the last bag! And let me add that whether or not you win, this sure has been an exciting game tonight. Now it's time to see what happens here. Is that yogurt $2.99? I want to see you win so badly, so I guess I should just get down to it right now. Is there yogurt in that bag? 1, 2, 3...let's see it!

(hits button, but reveals eggs)

BUZZ!/Losing Horns

(audience groans)

Curses! I thought you had it too, but oh well, I hope you had fun playing It's in the Bag tonight, and I'll see you at the Wheel later on.

(applause)

(TPIR Theme 2007)

Well, we're now 0 for 2 in games played tonight, but hopefully the next one will have a win. Stay right there, we're coming right back after this.

Welcome back, everybody, to The Price is Right $1,000,000 Spectacular! You know, George, we've played just two games so far tonight, but we have yet to see a win. Hopefully you know someone who can change that, do you?

Ok I have to confess something. I was actually thinking of putting the eggs on the last bag there. I don't know why I had to depend on past episodes of TPIR to stick to my decision there!

DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING!

(Walking 2007)

Right up to the Turntable we go to play the next game, but first, let me present you with the $1,000 for the perfect bid. Now that we got that out of the way, what else can Cool Steve win, George?

Now, that car is not $395,240, but let me tell you that the 3 at the beginning is correct, and the 0 at the end is also correct. We have to get rid of one of the numbers in the middle right now. Do you want me to take out the 9, 5, 2 or 4?

Welcome back, everybody, to The Price is Right $1,000,000 Spectacular! So far it hasn't been much of a celebration tonight, with no wins in the first half, but these three players can make up for it right here at the Big Wheel! Each of you has a chance to win lots of money; if you get a dollar in one spin or a combination of two spins, you win $5,000 and will get a Bonus Spin that is worth $25,000 for a green section and $50,000 for a dollar, so it is possible that you can end up winning $55,000 before the show is over! (cheers and applause) And of course, the one of you who is nearest to a dollar without going over will be in the Showcase at the end of the show.

SPINNING ORDER:
Cool Steve ($2,450)
AMGray1986 ($3,570)
wpghi5 ($3,900)

You know what you have to do first: Please submit three numbers from 1 to 20 (two regular, one Bonus Spin/Spin-Off), plus your minimum stopping score. Good luck!

Title: Re: Teddy's TPIR, Episode 25 (MDS 7): SIGN-UPS
Post by: Teddy on December 11, 2015, 01:39:11 PM
Cool Steve is up first.

(wheel beeps)

Here we go with the first spin of the first Showcase Showdown, which is about to slow down and come to a stop on...

30

...30 cents, and I daresay you want to spin again? Yeah, go for it.

(wheel beeps)

Now don't get anything over 70. And I think that 70 is going to try to find its way back here. It's looking good, buddy, it's looking real good! Just one more space...OH!!!

45

(audience groans)

I thought for sure you had the dollar, but instead you got 75 cents, so you're still in it.

.75

DING!

Now it's up to AMGray1986 to beat 75.

(wheel beeps)

Let's see if you can do it in one spin. And it looks like you just might...hey, look at this! You did it!

95

95 cents, and you don't want to spin again.

.95

DING!

And now it comes down to wpghi5 to get a dollar.

(wheel beeps)

Around and around it goes...but I don't think you'll get it on the first try. Let's see what you're going to start out with.

45

45 cents, so you need 50 to tie and 55 to win. Give it a good spin.

(wheel beeps)

Those are the only two numbers that can help you now. 50 for a tie, 55 for a dollar and a win. But this is not going to happen, because you're about to go over.

65

MRRRRRRRRP!

Yes, you did, by a dime. But thanks for playing anyway, and I hope to see you again soon.

(Dig We Must 2007)

AMGray1986 may have missed out on a Bentley on the Golden Road, but he is in the Showcase, for a chance to win some great prizes. Meanwhile, we're only halfway through the show, and we still have to play the Million-Dollar Game, where somebody could win a million dollars. So don't go anywhere; we're coming right back after these words.

Yeah. Let's go with that.

I'm not going to protest here, as the game has already proceeded, but why didn't I get to bid again? My bid was out of order, and the above post was meant to redact it. It doesn't matter now, but I definitely would have bid differently knowing holein1isawesome's bid. Instead, he had my bid first and was able to adjust his accordingly. I screwed up, and I suppose there's no rule for it, but that first bid should not have counted, at least in my opinion. For future reference, some clarity on this would be appreciated.

I read your post, and I didn't interpret as a retraction - possibly because you didn't outright say "I screwed up; can I bid again?"

For the record, I've seen out-of-order bids happen before on HYO shows, and from what I remember, the out-of-order bidding stood - if you bid out of turn, it was your loss.

Fair points all around. I'm just mad I missed out on possibly winning a nice Camaro. :P

Welcome back to The Price is Right $1,000,000 Spectacular! Needless to say, George, this hasn't been a very good show in terms of winning. We've only had one win through five games, and I'd like to see it end with a second winner through six. Now get me a winner!

GEORGE: And so I shall call on sideshowPA to come on down! You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

(Walking 2007)

(cheers and applause)

Welcome to the show, sideshowPA! Now as our final contestant of the night, you will get one chance to bid, and to the rest of you, it's your last chance to get up on stage. Let's see the prize.

Hello, PayingTheRent! Now I hope your stay in Contestants' Row was worth it, because now you have a chance to win this!

GEORGE: It's a lovely party boat! (Rachel models it) (Amen, Brother Herbert) (applause) From the Chesapeake Boat Company, this party boat can accommodate up to 20 people in style. Includes a folding canvas canopy and a lower cabin for sleeping and storage.

And you are going to play Pick-a-Number for that boat.

13?70

The price that we have is at least $13,000, then we have 7 and 0 as the last two numbers.

258

And over where Gwendolyn is, you will pick one of these three numbers to fill in the missing spot. Are you going with the 2, the 5 or the 8?
Title: Re: Teddy's TPIR, Episode 25 (MDS 7): SIGN-UPS
Post by: Mr. Weatherman on December 18, 2015, 03:51:11 PM
Oh boy... Honestly, all three of those numbers sound right, but which one could it be?

If you add up 2 + 5 + 8, you get 15, which represents the year this is: 2015. If you subtract 13, which is how many thousands of dollars the boat costs, then you are left with 2, which is the number of cents I usually have to give.

By that logic, I'll go with 2!

GWENDOLYN: Good luck, PayingTheRent! I hope you win!

Now, if that trip is $13,270, you will end this show on a high note. Now, when I say 3, just go over there and pull it up. 1, 2, 3...

Grad school has kept me busy till yesterday. Adjusting it now.
Not to nitpick, but both my Episode 24 and Renty's Episode 3 still have the thumbs-up icon and display as being in the first pricing game and the Showcases, respectively; of course, neither show is going on right now, and this one is about to wrap up in a day or two. Please fix those as well when you get around to it, thank you very much. Now on to the show in progress...

PayingTheRent will spin first.

(wheel beeps)

Of course, if you're nearest to a dollar without going over, you will be in the Showcase at the end of the show. And the first spin of the second Showcase Showdown is going to be worth...75 cents.

75

And you say that's enough, so over there you go.

.75

DING!

And now it's SuperSweeper's turn to spin.

(wheel beeps)

Will SuperSweeper beat 75 cents in one spin? The wheel will let us know in a moment. I don't think he will do that...nope, that's not going to do.

45

You have 45 cents, spin it again.

(wheel beeps)

If you can get 30 to 55 cents, you will be good. 30 to tie, 35 to take over the lead, and 55 for a dollar. And there's that 30 for a tie, stop right there! STOP RIGHT THERE...OH!!!

65

MRRRRRRRRP!

(audience groans)

I tried, but the wheel wouldn't cooperate. Thanks for playing, SuperSweeper. Now it's CheckGameMeBob's turn to spin.

(wheel beeps)

All you need to do to beat PayingTheRent and get into the Showcase is to get 80 or better. And will it stop on 80? Will it stop on 80? NO!!!

35

(audience groans)

Instead, you only got 35 cents, spin it again.

(wheel beeps)

40 to 65 will keep you around. 40 to tie, 45 to win. And I don't think this is going to work out.

80

MRRRRRRRRP!

There was the 80 you should've gotten the first time; I hope you had fun anyway, and enjoy your trips.

(Dig We Must 2007)

PayingTheRent is moving on to the Showcases at the end of the show. And we'll have another chance to win a million dollars coming up, but first we have these messages for you at home. Stay right there!
Title: Re: Teddy's TPIR, Episode 25 (MDS 7): SHOWCASES
Post by: Teddy on December 21, 2015, 12:56:15 PM
Welcome back, everybody! It's time for the Showcases, with AMGray1986 as the Top Winner and PayingTheRent as the Runner-Up! Now I'm hoping for a miracle tonight, which means that one of you will win your Showcase. Of course, the one closest to the actual retail price of his Showcase without going over will win it, and I have one last thing to say to you: If you are the winner, and you're $1,000 or less away from the retail price of your own Showcase, you will win both Showcases...AND A MILLION DOLLARS!!!

("$1,000,000" spins onto screen)

(Million-Dollar Game reveal stinger)

(cheers and applause)

Now that we have all that out of the way, it's time to present our first Showcase. George, take it away!

(1994/2007 TPIR Theme Mashup)

GEORGE: This Showcase features prizes revealed to make you feel jazzy all over! And it starts with you playing beautiful music on this beautiful saxophone! (Amber models it) (applause)

This Selmer alto saxophone is perfect for beginners, and comes with mouthpiece, reeds and velvet-lined carrying case. Next, we're sending you to a place that you can agree is pretty jazzy, and by the way, it happens to be my hometown, swinging St. Louis! (Gwendolyn models it) (cheers and applause)

You and a guest will fly round-trip coach from Los Angeles to St. Louis, Missouri, for a six-night stay at the Riverfront Grand Hotel in Downtown St. Louis! Conveniently located in the heart of the city, and within minutes of its main attractions, shops and museums, including the iconic Gateway Arch! And finally, you can play your jazz music everywhere you go, on the sound system in your new luxury crossover! (Rachel models it) (cheers and applause)

It's the 2016 Lincoln MKC luxury crossover, featuring a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with six-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive, AM/FM stereo with SiriusXM Satellite Radio and MP3 jack, premium leather seating, luggage rack, dual climate control, cargo net and engine block heater. And there you go: an alto saxophone to practice your tunes on, a trip to St. Louis and a new luxury crossover! You surely will have fun with this swell Showcase, but only if the price is right!

Now AMGray1986, here's the question: Are you going to bid on this Showcase, or pass it to PayingTheRent?

PAYINGTHERENT

DING!

Now AMGray1986, here comes your Showcase!

(Rock & Roll Showcase Cue)

GEORGE: AMGray1986, this Showcase features prizes revealed as we've seemingly run out of ideas on what to give you, so we decided to start with this rocking car stereo! (Amber models it) (applause)

This Kenwood car stereo features eight speakers, a remote control, a front-loading CD player, a digital AM/FM tuner with satellite radio capabilities, and an auxiliary jack that allows you to connect it to your iPod or MP3 player and cruise for hours of driving fun. Then we decided that you can't have a car stereo without something to put it in, like this new Jeep! (Rachel models it) (cheers and applause)

It's the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X2, featuring a 3.7-liter PentaStar V6 engine with 9-speed automatic transmission, AM/FM/CD stereo with SiriusXM Satellite Radio, power moonroof, luggage rack, cargo net and engine block heater. And this Showcase can be yours...

MIKE RICHARDS: (off camera) Hey George!

GEORGE: What?!

MIKE: We're not done yet!

GEORGE: What did I forget?

MIKE: You were supposed to tell them about the next prize, which is a Cadillac Escalade! (Gwendolyn models it) (Car Slide) (wild cheers and applause)

GEORGE: It's the 2016 Cadillac Escalade 4X2, featuring a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission, AM/FM/CD stereo with SiriusXM Satellite Radio and MP3 jack, 12-disc CD changer, premium leather seating, chrome accents, dual climate control, luggage rack, cargo net and engine block heater. So it's a car stereo, plus a new Jeep and a new Cadillac Escalade. (he and Mike appear together at his podium) And this Showcase, in which Mike Richards just saved my butt, can be yours if the price is right!

Thanks, guys! And we just got an excellent cameo by Mike Richards to go with that! Now AMGray1986, I want your bid on this Showcase.

And welcome back to the show, which is about to reach its exciting conclusion! AMGray1986, we're going to start with you. You had a car stereo system, a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Cadillac Escalade, and you bid $75,628. Actual retail price: $106,784, for a difference of...

$31,156
AMGRAY1986

DING!

...$31,156. (applause) Now over to PayingTheRent, who had a saxophone, a trip to St. Louis and a Lincoln MKC. Your bid was $42,422, and the actual retail price is: $42,865, for a difference of...

$443
PAYINGTHERENT

...$443, and YOU WIN BOTH SHOWCASES AND A MILLION DOLLARS!!!

CLANG-CLANG-CLANG-WHOOP-WHOOP-WHOOP!

(confetti falls on stage)

(wild cheers and applause)

(TPIR Theme 2007)

$1,000,000

Do you believe in miracles??? We just had our first-ever Double Showcase Winner for the first time in history!

$1,151,389

In fact, PayingTheRent has just won $1,151,389 in cash and prizes, and after all that losing for most of the show, we get a miracle finish tonight! A Double Showcase and million-dollar winner on the same show; it doesn't get any better than this! Teddy here, reminding you to help control the pet population and have your pets spayed or neutered, because it's the right thing to do. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you on the daytime Price is Right. Good night, everybody!

(music segues into Rock & Roll Showcase Cue)

(end credits roll)

GEORGE: This is George Gray speaking for The Price is Right, a FremantleMedia production!

TOTAL WINNINGS:
PayingTheRent ($1,151,389)
CheckGameMeBob ($31,600)
wpghi5 ($3,900)
AMGray1986 ($3,570)
SuperSweeper ($2,469)
Cool Steve ($2,450)

And there you have it: 25 shows in the books, and what an amazing finish it was!

Coincidentally, the last time we had a 1/6 show was back in Episode 5, and that show also had Five Price Tags and It's in the Bag in its lineup. Of course, it had that infamous Bag gaffe in which poor writing led to a wipeout, but then was changed to a technical win; Tags was the only game fully won.

That million-dollar win in the Showcases more than made up for the fact that the Bentley was never played for in Golden Road. And PayingTheRent is the second millionaire in the history of the series, after gr8daynegb in Episode 4 (http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/topic,10756.msg164505.html#msg164505), who won $1,239,438 on that show. Like PayingTheRent, gr8daynegb also won an Escalade and a million dollars, although it came in the Million-Dollar Game, Master Key.

I will take a break from hosting, because I know there are lots of other people waiting in line to host their first shows under Roadgeek Adam. Let's make the HYO section as successful as ever!

And one more thing: :dsw:!!!

Up next: Episode 26. The floor is now open for your comments.

I just forgot about the TPG, and here are the results:

CheckGameMeBob: Golden Road/Grand Game/Buy or Sell/Hole in One/Range Game/Cliff Hangers
PayingTheRent: Vend-O-Price/Triple Play/Range Game/Freeze Frame/Any Number/Punch-A-Bunch
SuperSweeper: Cover Up/1 Right Price/Vend-o-Price/Play Your Percentages/Add 'em Up/Give or Keep
AMGray1986: Dice Game/It's in the Bag /Safe Crackers/Rat Race/Do the Math/Vend - O - Price
wpghi5: Pick-A-Pair/One Away/Bonus Game/Let Em Roll/Magic #/Make Your Move
123123123: One Right Price/Vend-O-Price/10 Chances/Squeeze Play/Secret X/3 Strikes
holein1isawesome: Lucky $even/Race Game/Grand Game/Double Cross/Pathfinder/Range Game

Well, I can see that Vend-O-Price is getting lots of love, but it'll have to wait a couple more episodes to show up. And only three people got one game correct each, and they are CheckGameMeBob, AMGray1986, and 123123123. Therefore, they will get automatic First Four passes to the next show if they sign up.
