The tenor of this show has been far different from the rest of the week. After a DOB, a skunking and two 1-for-6 days (one with another DOB), the purse strings have been considerably loosened. But some things don't change, as Valerie and Lauren have been on the red podium since the first call-up. It looks like Mimi's got more possible customers for the First Four Midday Revue. She's got a special buffet (complete with turkey necks), and serendaing by those smart-mouthed boxed flowers. Sixth IUFB: Pair of Dell laptops (webcam, 14" display; ARP: $1,905) (model)
Valerie and Lauren escape! They are playing One Wrong Price.

Macsen here. As typical, nomenclature shift and mild format changes. And I came back a week and a half later to fix the slightest of math issues, because I didn't have enough issues with the math while suffering an infection while making the recap originally.
If there's one thing that bothered me the most about this show was how Drew revealed the first showcase. He really shouldn't telegraph anything like a painful overbid by making it so obvious that someone did go over by so little.
I was home today. Fighting an infection. Not a pretty sight, but I look worse than I feel.Bad for you, but good for us. :P
Kitch, how in you recaps did you come up with 118,571 when I was keeping track in the room and came up with 100,197.
The audience booed them when they chose the trash bags. WHY?! There's something else there that's $7.49, and they found it right off.
Sorry, I must've double-counted the Focus. I also fixed the Cover Up flub. I have re-calculated and updated. Please change grand total to $100,393, Army.
You can't ask for a more exciting playing of Cover Up. And Drew is now explaining the complete rules before the game begins. He did that the last time, too, so I was wondering if he would do it again.
Dang, I recalculated from your recap kitch and still came up 200 dollars less than your total. Oh well, its all good.
I still think couples Price on Mother's day is a stupid idea.
The first Showcase sucked. Too many trips, plus what happens if the winner doesn't live in California? Are they going to get flown to California just for a day in that spa in Santa Barbara? My guess is, no, since there was no mention of a flight in the description.
Andrea and Deborah's overbid was just painful. Drew's reveal flat-out sucked...if he can't do the dramatic reveal right, he should just go back to reading the price and moving on- don't dwell on it or drag it out. The way he dragged it out and dwelled on it made it seem like he'd forgotten that the other contestants won.At least he didn't say, "You shouldn't have added the 882!". When I saw his reaction, I had a feeling the price was going to be something like $39,865, and they would have won both showcases had they just made the last two digits zero. (Then again, that works both ways; I recall a contestant bidding some thousand "and one" dollars, and the price ended in 251.)
You know, Drew's been faking us out so much lately, that I couldn't really tell 100% either. I think it was fine.
(Then again, that works both ways; I recall a contestant bidding some thousand "and one" dollars, and the price ended in 251.)
Punch a Bunch really does look so much better now that the old dollar signs are back.
A first for Cover Up. Definitely YouTube material right there.
