Title: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 37--THE END
Post by: Mallory16 on February 11, 2009, 11:07:39 PM
In our last show, Kev347 really cleaned house!  Unfortunately, he was the only one who really did any damage to the budget, winning more than 90% of everything won in that show.  I mean, at least the one person who won stuff won a lot, but we'd like both quality and quantity!

And that's what we're going to do for our thirty-seventh show!  If you would like to be a possible contestant, then just sing up here!  If you meet the board's eligibility requirements, you may be called to come  on down, where you'll have a chance to pretend to win a bounty of beautiful prizes!  If you are called to come on down, you will  be sent a private message, but after that, it will be your responsibility to pay attention to when it's your turn to do whatever.  The subject line wonkily changes to help you out with that.  When it's your turn to do the whatever it is you have to do, you get thirty hours.  Six free hours than most other hosts!  Go me!  Go me!  Anyway, if you miss once in contestants' row, we'll take that on a case-by-case basis, but you'll most likely get a second chance.  If you miss a second time, though, or once in another part of the show, you're out.  Unless you're not.  We'll see if extenuating circumstances apply to your case.  Partially completed pricing games will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.  And  to give everyone an equal chance to get up on stage--I mean, not counting that people called earlier in the show get an advantage, at least--I ask that you not shout out advice during the items up for bids.  I can't stop anyone in that part of the show.  Someone always wins those, after all.  Any other comments are welcome, though, as well as giving help during any other part of the show!  Not that advice during the showcase showdown is very useful, but you're free to shout out advice there, anyway.

And because McDonald's and Burger King aren't cute, you also have the optional option of playing the optional Frank Prediction Game!

Episode Lineups Thus Far (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/tpir30.html)

Participation is optional, but the winner will be guaranteed a first four spot in Episode 38!  At least assuming the winner signs up.  And that he meets the board's eligibility requirements.  But besides that, first four for sure!  To play the FPG, just list the six games you think will be played in this episode, in order.  Participation is optional.  Two points for a right game, right slot, andone point for a right game, wrong slot.  Please include your confidence points, but no win/loss predictions, as I don't like the icky conflict of interests situation that could possibly arise from that.  And I reiterate, participation is optional!

Flerbert419, as the winner of the FPG in the last show, you get to be among the first four contestants in this show by merely signing up!

If you want a chance to play, be sure to sign up by midnight the morning of Monday, February 16, because that's when this show will start.  So just sign up for an absolute blast that's gonna' be fun!  At least for a message board sort of game.

Because I can't predict game lineups if my life depended on it, I will not participate in the Frank Prediction Game.

However, I will throw my hat into the ring.

Whoo!  Frank's still giving us 30 hours!  In the current economy, you never can be sure...I'm glad budget cuts haven't forced him down to 25 or anything yet.  :)

I'll sign up for this one.  No FPG, though, since I don't feel like thinking this early in the morning.

(Which is probably a bad thing, considering I'm at work right now.)

Again, I'm not an FPG person, but I'll sign up. Hannah wants some revenge, after all. That was a somewhat evil jukebox.

...Actually, she doesn't take revenge - more like "smacks stupid people upside the head". Anyway, she's waiting if you can handle her... *SA-MACK!*

Is it too late?  I'm interested.  It's my first time.  :)

Shame on me! I though this show had started, don't know why, and was about to tell you 'Yes, it's too late, wait for a new show.'

Not the case at all; it's still sign-ups here. However, per site rules:

2: In order to participate in a full show, you must be an active member in other Price is Right related areas of the site. Generally speaking, this means that at least 20% (at least one out of every five) of your posts should be outside of the Host Your Own section.
By: Frank15

You may want to post a little more outside this area. I realize your other post was in the 'Word Chain' thread, but if you participate in the First Run TPiR or The TALK is Right section a little more. If you do, I don't see Frank having a problem with you signing up. As moderator, he, not I, has final say on the issue.

Hope it helps,

Prizes

Rich:  Here it comes, from the Golden-Road.net forums online, the Internet's most exciting couple o' weeks of fantastic prizes:  the fabulous 20,160-minute Price is Right!

Flerbert419, come on down!

sideshowPA, come on down!

goldroadfanatic, come on down!

And PriceFanArmadillo, come on down!  You are the first four contestants on The Price is Right!  And now, here's the star of The Price is Right, Frank!

*Frank enters the stage through the big doors.*

Welcome to The Price is Right!  Thank you all for that underwhelming welcome... seriously.  I didn't hear any applause or anything.  You guys need to clap and cheer more loudly, so I can hear you through the computer!  Ah well... there's the first item up for bids on our show today!

Rich:  A comfortable sofa bed.  The Baxton Furniture Studios Quintiliano convertible sofa bed has a 2-position adjustable back, easy-use European click-clack mechanism, integgrated coffee table that stows between uses, 360-degree swivel seating, foam fill padding, red fabric upholstery, and measures 71.5 by 29 by 29.5 inches as a sofa.

And that sofa will go to the one of you four who bids nearest to the actual retail price without going over.  Bid in dollars, please, because we round off our prices to the nearest dollar, and Army, you get the first bid today.

Whoa?  A sofa-table-bed-thingy?  Just what I've always wanted!

Um...let's go with...$1485.

$1800

$1802.
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 37--PG #1
Post by: Mallory16 on February 16, 2009, 12:10:23 PM
(http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/price37/iufb2.txt)

And the actual retail price of the couch is...

$1220, and goldie wins!  And goldie, I would like for you to follow me up to the turntable where we are going to play the first pricing game of the day.  Howdy, goldie.  Now goldie, I have something nice for you over there!

Rich:  A lovely living room group.  From FurnitureOnTheWeb.com, this set includes a sofa, love seat, and chair with deep brown wood and onion-shaped feet and carved trim around the bottom and across the tops of each piece, with soft fabric lining the sides and back with padded leather and loose pillows for the back cushions and formed seat cushions all covered in a beautiful paisley pattern highlighted with plaid.  Also includes a 4-piece occasion table set including coffee table, two end tables, and console table in a matching dark brown wood with carvings, cabriole legs, and beveled edge tops.  It's a prize package worth $12,586!

And it's your living room if you win Now or Then.  Now is today.

Then is May 2004.  To win, you have to correctly guess whether the prices on these products are the prices Now, Today,  or Then, May 2004.  If you get three products correct on the wheel that are touching at the sides, then you win the living room.  So Rich, to help goldie out, how about you tell us about today's products?

Rich:  Of course, Frank, today we're dealing with this, a 48 oz. bottle of Crisco canola oil, for a slightly healthier oil for all sorts of cooking purposes, use canola oil, and for the best canola oil, cooks who know trust Crisco.

A 5-flavor roll of Life Savers with eleven candies may not be as good as they used to be, since three of the flavors have changed, but at least they still have cherry and pineapple, which were the best two flavors anyway, if you ask our script writer.

A loaf of Nature's Own honey wheat bread, for a delicious store-bought bread that tastes too good to be wheat bread... which, technically, it isn't.

A 12 oz. bottle of Cary's maple syrup, delicious on pancakes, waffles, and little else.  But hey, when it comes to those two things, at least, you can't beat real maple syrup.

A 10 oz. jar of Polaner raspberry All-Fruit, which, even though it tastes better than ordinary jelly, still contains more pear juice than it does raspberry.  Disappointing, but still beats regular jelly.

And a 2 gallon tub of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream, 'cause there's nothing like the taste of homemade Blue Bell ice cream.  There's nothing like the taste of the very best.  They eat all they can, and they sell the rest; it's all made homemade down home, Blue Bell, the best ice cream in the country... can't believe they finally stopped airing that commercial last year.  Anyway, there they are, Frank!

And now, goldie, with which product would you like to begin, and is its price Now or Then?

All right, goldie says the jelly, marked $2.19, is Then.

ding!

Yes!  It is Then!  Now you've got plenty of options here.  You could win with the ice cream and the oil, you could win with the ice cream and the syrup, or you could win with the syrup and the bread.  Where do you want to go next, and is its price Now or Then?
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 37--PG #1

All right, is $4.99 for the syrup Now?

bonk!

No... it's Then, but you can still win with the ice cream and the oil.  Where to next, and Now or Then?
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 37--PG #1

Is the Blue Bell Now?

bonk!

No!  Now goldie, I'm sure you are aware what this means.  In order for you to win, you'll have to get all the remaining products right, else you won't be able to get three in a row anywhere on the pie.  So... well, you can start where ever you like.  I'm not sure how much difference it makes where you start, but I'll let you decide, anyway.

The tension is so thick, you can stick a fork in it, Frank.  This is as exciting as this game gets, what a win it would be to start off this show!  That oil, $2.79, I will say "Then".

That's right... who says this game's boring?  Not us!  Now show us Then!

Wait... "now show us Then"?  That's a little confusing for our home viewers.  Then is what we want to see.  I just said now because we want to see Then now.  Now now would be bad.  I mean, with the Life Savers, then Now was good, but now Now is bad, and now Then is good... now, of course.  But then, Now was now then, but not now now, but then now... now we... I need to shut up now.  Or... urgh!

THEN!

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

Yes!  What a comeback, folks!  What an incredible comeback!  The oil was Then, and you have won that lovely whatever room, congratulations goldie!  What an awesome way to start our show!  Let's hope we can keep it up, after this!

***

I don't know how we're going to be able to follow up that incredible win, Rich, but we'll try, and who is going to help us out?

Rich:  Well, since he's got some sort of big showcase record, how about UniquePerspective, come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

And take your spot right down there, 'Nique, and here comes The Price is Right tugboat with the next item up for bids.

TOOT!  TOOT!

Rich:  And The Price is Right tugboat is tugging on out a useful desk.  From Stacks and Stacks, this Sonoma desk is made of maple, and has two storage compartments, and measures 29 inches high by 48 inches wide by 23.5 inches deep.

And 'Nique, you get the first bid on that.

Frank, this will be a show highlight, no doubt!  Heck, I think it could make the top 25 wins of this entire series, but probably because I'm being self-indulgent right now.

The only problem is that this series will probably end up somewhere around 682 episodes before Frank finally gives it up.  :)

And what ever happened to the simple 4/2 in Now or Then?

Frank happened.

Hmm...this is a *useful* desk, not an *aesthetically-pleasing* desk, which is probably code for *cheap*.  I'm going to try the same thing that worked for UP's show this morning and bid one dollar again.
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 37--PG #2
Post by: Mallory16 on February 16, 2009, 04:20:51 PM
Well, one of the top 25 wins so far at least, Army.  When we get to Episode 582, it might have some trouble then.

Flerbie, I use the old rules for Now or Then.  The ones where there were no specific number of Nows versus Thens.  We've just seen it's completely winnable, too!

Anyway, the actual retail price of the desk is...

$504, and Army was right about it being cheap!  He wins!  And Army, as the winner, I would like for you to follow me back here to the big doors where we are going to play our second pricing game for a bunch of good stuff right behind these doors!

Rich:  A stately grandfather clock, a unique console table, and a cool refrigerator.

First, from Howard Miller, the Langston grandfather clock in a cherry finish has a split pediment featuring a turned finial and a bookmatched olive ash burl overlay with a decorative shell overlay in the center, with a polished brass finish dial offering elaborate corner spandrels, center disk, and a silver chapter ring with applied brass Arabic numerals, and a lamp behind the dial illuminating the pierced astrological blue moon phase.

Next, the Padmas Plantation TB-60-200 Lemurian console table with glass top is true art, with each piece hand made so that no two are the same, and is made of fiberglass shell and copper leaf hand crafted onto the base.

And finally, the GE Profile 48-inch built-in side-by-side refrigerator with electronic dispenser has a an 18.7 cubic foot refrigerator capacity and a 10.9 cubic foot freezer capacity, has ClimateKeeper with dual evaporators, five electronic sensors, multiflow air system, air tower in the freezer, FrostGuard, LED upfront electronic digital temperaturs display, external electronic temperature controls, cubed ice crushed ice and chilled water dispenser, ice maker, water filter indicator light, four ClearLook food bins, wine holder, snack drawer, deli drawer, NeverClean condensor, stainless steel, door stops, and measures 84 inches high by 48 inches wide by 27 inches deep.

Back when you were in preschool, I bet you had fun playing with blocks, huh?  Well, I'm going to let you relive those days, because you're going to be playing with blocks once more in our easiest--strike that, eaziest pricing game on the show:  Eazy az 1-2-3.

(http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/price37/eazy1.txt) (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/price37/eazy2.txt) (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/price37/eazy3.txt)

And here come the blocks for Eazy az 1-2-3.  What I want you to do is to put block #1 on the least expensive prize over there.  I want you to put block #2 on the next more expensive prize, but not the most expensive prize.  And I want you to put block #3 on the most expensive prize of all, get busy!

Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 37--PG #2

Wow...we go from cheap inexpensive to...well, the exact opposite.  Lots of $$$$$$$$'s on those carts, to borrow some of the slang those CSS whippersnappers use.  Meanwhile, I've got some blocks in my hands that I need to figure out what to do with...hmm...

...well, I note that that table in the middle is 'true art', and not something like 'useful' or 'pragmatic', so I'm going to use the same logic that got me on stage, assume that's worth way more than it has any right to be and put the '3' block on it.  Now...hmm, fridge or clock...I know that fridge is probably about four thousand, but if Frank's going out of his way to load the fridge, he's probably going to load the clock too, and no matter how much you load a fridge, you can probably find a more expensive clock, so I'm placing the '1' in front of the fridge and the '2' in front of the clock.

All right.  Let us hope that your reasoning skills there were above that of a preschooler.  You have block #1 at the refrigerator:  how much is that?

ding!

Ooh... ooh... that makes me nervous.  The clock has to be more than $7049... is it?

bonk!

No... no... it was only $2750.  Was the table art the most expensive, anyway?

No... you didn't have anything right, I'm afraid.  Not that we'd have let it slide if you did have one right, but... well, Army, I'm sorry this didn't work out.  We'll try again after this.

***

Well, that was a bummer.  We need another high after that Now or Then win earlier, though, so Rich, do your thing!

Rich:  Hannah, come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

And here comes Hannah, coming down and settling in the red spot, and here's the lovely Kathleen, coming on down, wearing the next item up for bids.

Rich:  And the lovely Kathleen is wearing a stunning amethyst ring.  From Diamond-Me, this beautiful ring is made of 14 karot white gold, has an 11 by 11 millimeter amethyst stone, and .32 carats worth of diamonds.

And Hannah, you get the first bid on that.

And the actual retail price of the ring is...

$833, and 'Nique wins!  And 'Nique, I would like for you to follow me way back here to the big doors again, where we are going to play our third game for something you are going to love!  Oh, 'Nique!  Oh, how excited you're going to be when you see this!

Rich:  A new car!  A Chevy Aveo LT sedan, a nice enough car to drive places that you have to get to, because without a car, you won't be able to get to work, and you'll lose your job, and be unable to find another one since you'd have no way of getting to your job.  Unless you have a good public transportation system, at least.  Comes with standard features, 1.6 liter in-line 4 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, rear spoiler, cruise control, antilock brake system with engine immobilizer, black granite metallic paint, and XM satellite radio, a Chevy Aveo!

Now 'Nique, if I may say so, that is one strikingly beautiful car!  It's... that's... a true work of art!  It's such a beautiful car, that the thought of you winning it, and it parting with us actually pained me.  Pained me, I say!  But thankfully, I had a brilliant idea, being a genius and all:  I hired an expensive artiste--that's with a silent e, mind you--to paint a beautiful painting of that beautiful automobile!  Along with its price, of course:  I mean, the price is the most important, brilliant part of this work.  It's junk without the price, right?

Anyway--ooh, I'm on pins and needles here--it's time the the unveiling of the greatest masterpiece in all of history!  Mona Lisa, who's that?  Last Supper, adios!  There's a new standard in town!  Ooh, this is so exciting!  Voila!

*sniff*

Isn't it beautiful?  It's so... so... so-so.  I overpaid.  You know, I really should have learned my lesson from Episode 13, and not hired the same guy... I admit, I admit, it was foolish on my part.  I knew I shouldn't have paid him in full until he finished the job.

Anyway, 'Nique, I can't lie:  I'm a bit disappointed with this piece.  I mean, part of the price is painted:  it is a $16,000 automobile.  And it does end in 35.  But that middle number... it's eating at me on the inside.  I need this work finished!  I... say, a thought occurs to me.  If you can complete this masterpiece, I would be so grateful that I'll give you this car!  I mean, you have to paint the right number, of course, but really, a new car for just painting one litty bitty number ain't a bad deal, right?

We have the price of the car over there.  Yeah, it would probably be smart of me to unveil that before asking you to work on this painting, but I think it would be more fun to have you work on it before knowing the price.  Sure, I risk having you completely defile my painting, but we'll do it this way, anyway.  Just paint the right number and that car is yours!

All right, and he has finished my soon-to-be masterpiece with a 2.  And if that car is $16,235, you will win that lovely car, and I will have a new work of art to display in my gallery.  Or sell on eBay.  I bet it can sell for a lot.  I mean, if a cardboard box with an X on it can sell for thousands, why not a crude Paint drawing of a car?  Anyway, we're looking for a 2, so Janice and Holly, unveil that price!

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

You win!  $16,235, and you have a new car, and I have a new masterpiece!  It's a win win situation, if you ask me!  Congratulations 'Nique!  Showcase showdown next!

***

And with me I have UniquePerspective, I have goldroadfanatic, and I have PriceFanArmadillo, ready to spin the big wheel!  If you get $1.00 in one spin, or a combination of two spins, you get $1000 and a bonus spin.  In the bonus spin, if the wheel lands on one of the two green sections, you get $5000 more.  But if the wheel lands on the $1.00 in your bonus spin, you win $10,000 more, for a total of $11,000!  Not only that, but the one of you closest to $1.00 without going over will be in the showcase at the end of the show, where you can win thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and THOUSANDS of dollars worth of prizes!  So try to get there!

Now UniquePerspective, as you have won the most in this half of the show, you will be spinning last.  goldroadfanatic, you're second, and PriceFanArmadillo, you get to start us off.  Please give me two numbers from 1 to 20, preferably giving me a stopping point as well.  Good luck!

Yes!  90¢, and it looks like that's enough for goldie, but look out!  Here comes 'Nique to give the wheel his special touch, and 'Nique has given the wheel another mighty spin, and it looks like it might be 95¢ if it slows down... ooh, a little too fast.

85¢, you need 15¢ or less here, and 15¢ is coming up if it slows down enough... which it isn't.  Sorry 'Nique, but enjoy your car.

BONK!

goldie, you will be in the showcase at the end of the show!  Now folks, if this looks like fun, and you'd like to be a part of the fun, here's Rich to tell you what you need to do!

Rich:  If you'd like to be a possible contestant on Frank's Price is Right, all you have to do is turn your computer on, wait fifteen minutes for it to boot up, connect to the Internet, go to "www.golden-road.net," sign in, have the computer freeze and force you to shut down, boot the computer back up a second time, wait  another fifteen minutes for it to boot up, connect to the Internet again, go back to "www.golden-road.net," sign in since it didn't work the last time, scroll down until you see "Host Your Own," and click on that, then scroll down until you see "Frank's Price is Right:  Episode 38--SIGN UPS" and click on that, click on reply, type some sort of indication that you'd like to play, and hope you get called, it's that easy, OK Frank!

More pricing games after this astriskstrio.

Well, I think I can safely not worry about the buzzer this time.  But who's won the rocking chair?  The actual retail price of that chair is...

$449, and Hannah wins!  Finally someone wins!  And Hannah, as the winner, I want you to follow me waaaay back here to the big doors, where we have the fourth pricing game all ready and raring to go, and OH-pen those doors!

It's Safe Crackers!  Now, the lovely Dian will open that safe, and show us the two prizes you can win inside, look!

Rich:  An elegant grand piano.  From Rawlings, this 5-foot Victorian grand piano in brown Sapeli mahogany has a solid spruce soundboard, German hammers, 17 ply hard rock maple pinblock, wet sand cast plate, and hardwood ribs and posts.

And also, a rockin' electric guitar.  The Dean Boca 12-string black electric guitar has a semi-hollowbody with arched top, dual humbuckers, master volume and tone controls, adjustable bridge with stop tailpiece, and 3-way pickup selector.  It's a Safe Crackers prize package worth $14,645!

And lock that safe, Dian!  Now Hannah, you will win both of those prizes if you can crack that safe, and the combination to the safe is the same as the price of the guitar.

In the price of the guitar, there is a 0, there is a 5, and there is a 6.  Set the first dial to the first number in the price, the second dial to the second, and the third dial to the third, and if it's the right price, the safe will open and you will win both of those prizes.  Keep in mind that none of the numbers repeat, and crack open that safe!

The current cue is playing?  I'm going to need to give our musical director a reprimand after the show, 'cause he wasn't supposed to be playing that one.  Sorry about that, Hannah.

All right, you have the price set at $650, and now turn that wheel to the left... now to the right... now to the left again... now a three-quarters turn to the right while hopping on one foot and patting your head while humming Yankee Doodle, and pull on that handle!

bonk!

No... it's locked.  The price was $560.  Hannah, I'm sorry this didn't go better for you.  And I'm sorry it looks like Janice is going to suffocate inside the safe.  Shame when that happens.  There's more Price is Right coming up!

Rich:  Stay tuned for more pricing games and the fabulous showcases which are coming up on the second half of The Price is Right!

***

Rich, who will it be?

Rich:  BRB_TheFireball, come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

And take your spot right down there, Fiery, and here comes the lovely Holly with the next item up for bids.

Rich:  And the lovely Holly is using a loud microphone.  From Audio-Technica, this stereo mic is battery operated, ideal for DAT recording as well as TV, FM, and field applications, has a compact lightweight design, closely-matched elements to provide the spatial impact and realism of a live sound field, excellent channel separation, switchable low-frequency roll-off, and includes a 1.7 foot long cable, and a 10 foot long cable.

Fiery, you get the first bid on that.

Cheap crap?  Did you forget what Army said about Eazy az 1-2-3 today?

Anyway, the actual retail price of the microphone is...

$419, and pathy wins!  And pathy, in spite of rob's protests, we are headed back to the big doors for our next pricing game yet again, and ooh, do we ever have a bunch of beautiful prizes, and you can win all of these!

Rich:  An elegant wall clock, a barbecue set, a brilliant floor lamp, and a groovy digital piano.

First, the Howard Miller Lewis wall clock features a distinctive dentil molding on the profiled pediment with maple and ebony hand-rubbed marquetry overlays at each corner, and the white dial offers black Roman numerals and serpentine hour and minute hands, with a polished brass lyre pendulum behind the locking door, and has key-wound triple chime movement with chime silence option and durable bronze brushings, and is finished in Windsor Cherry on select hardwoods and veneers.

Next, the Cook's Tailgate/Backyard BBQ Kitchen features a 15.5 by 30 inch stainless steel stove that fits all full-size and mid-size trucks, has two heavy-duty cast iron burners with up to 30,000 BTU each, a 2 cubic foot mini refrigerator, stainless steel sink and counter tops, and retractable fluorescent light, and measures 36 by 41 by 27 inches when closed.

Then, the Carrara floor lamp from Luceplan was designed by Alfredo Haberli, made of glass and plastic, and features a single plastic and sculptural block for indirect light, producing a high brightness with very low energy consumption, and is dimmable, and measures 73 inches high by 8 inches wide at the base, and takes two 42 watt fluorescent bulbs.

And finally, the Suzuki 3 foot 3 inch mini-grand 88 key digital piano XP-35 in high gloss black has 64-note maximum polyphony, has MIDI interface, gold accent rope, never needs tuning, powerful three-dimensional sound system, transpose function, two position arm support for piano lid, balanced graded hammer action keyboard, karaoke feature, plug and play technology, auto accompaniment, programmable, layer and split functions, record songs, grading functions, authentic piano touch and feel, 120 watt concert hall sound system, stereo-sampled voices, smart media card, USB, MIDI, and microphone inputs, with USB, headphone, and MIDI outputs, and LCD display.

And you are going to play Danger Price!

And the danger price today is $2650.  That's one mean sucker, and you don't want to mess with him.  To win, you have to pick out the three prizes, one at a time, that are not $2650.  You succeed in that, and you win all four prizes!  If not, then the danger price will make you pay!  Though an epic battle between you and the danger price might make for good TV, you'll lose, so it's best not to get in a head-on fight with it, regardless.  You'll have to use your cunning to sneak past him.

So pathy, which prize, that is not $2650, would you like to start with?

All right, is the clock $2650?

ding!

No!  It's $1825 and you're safe, and we still have never had a wipeout in this game.  What else there isn't $2650?

All right, is the piano $2650?

BONK!

Yes... it is $2650, I'm afraid.  How much were the other two, anyway?

Yeah... you should've taken the barbecue and the lamp.  The piano was the danger price, and now ye'll be keelhauled, arr!  We'll try one more time after this.

***

Rich, we need one more player!

Rich:  WadeSimPrice, come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

And take your spot right there, Wade, and here's the lovely Kathleen, wearing the next item up for bids.

Rich:  And the lovely Kathleen is wearing a gorgeous pair of boots.  From Te Casan by Fay Baldock, the women's Frankie boot has a great name for a pair of boots, and is made of rich, premium calf leather with adjustable buckle straps criss-crossing the foot and wrapping the shaft, with an easy low heel.

And Wade, you get the first bid on that.

Well, Flerbie's screwed, since there are no bells going off.  But will sidey escape?  Actual retail price:

$426, and sidey made it!  sidey has won his way up on stage, and we are headed off to the big doors for the fifth time, where we have the sixth pricing game of the day all ready and raring to go.  sidey, it may have taken you a while to make it up here, but let me tell you it was worth the wait.  Oh, you have no idea!  sidey, it will have been well worth the wait if you win this!

Rich:  A new car!  An Acura TSX sedan, a fun car to drive whether you're coming or going, which isn't the game we're about to play.  Never has been played for a car, has it?  Anyway, you'll be coming or going when you win this baby... if you win this baby, so don't disappoint Mom and drive it home for her to show off to the neighbors!  Comes with standard features, 2.4 liter in-line 4 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, 18-inch ebony alloy wheels, all-season floor mats, body side molding, back-up sensors, car cover, cargo hook, cargo organizer, door edge guards, deck lid spoiler, door visors, first aid kit, full nose mask, front under-body spoiler, interior trim kit, sport leather steering wheel, moonroof visor, rear bumper applique, rear under-body spoiler, wing spoiler, splash guards, sport leather shift knob, sport steering wheel trim, side under-body spoiler, trunk tray, and wheel locks.  This is the Acura TSX!

Oh, how beautiful a car that is!  And it's your car if you can pick out the right price from these Five Price Tags.

These are the five price tags.  One of them is the right price for this car!  If you can pick out that price, you win it, but you have to win picks from the board.  But fortunately, you'll have a chance to win up to four choices of the five price tags.

Those props back there don't really do much, but they make an awesome car backdrop, and they light up for each price tag choice you win, just in case you have trouble keeping track.  Or more likely, in case I have trouble keeping track.  Anyway, take those price tags away, Janice, and here comes the lovely Dian with another prize you can win, in our little "game within the game."  This prize looks like a microwave.  Rich, could you tell us about it, please?

Rich:  Of course, Frank, the Panasonic NN-H965BF luxury full-size 2.2 cubic foot 1250-watt black microwave oven has a cooking sensor that automatically adjusts the power level, calculates reheating and cooking time, and has linear power control for more even heating, defrosting, and cooking.

And here we have a price of...

$200.  Now, to win price tag choices for the Five Price Tag part of the game, you have to win some other prizes in our True False part of the game.  Now, that $200 price tag for the microwave might be true.  On the other hand, it might be false.  To win the microwave, as well as one choice of the five price tags, you must correctly tell me whether that price is true or false.

I'll say TRUE on the microwave

Post by: Mallory16 on February 24, 2009, 09:12:04 PM
Hopefully it will remain one of your favorites by the end of the game.  Anyway, sidey says $200 is true.

bonk!

Ooh, no, it was false.  It's $233.  Take that away quickly, Dian, quick Holly, bring out the next prize.  Want to get that microwave out of our sight quickly, and Holly has brought out for you... a bag, I guess.  Rich, could you elaborate a bit?

Rich:  The Coach Holiday Patchwork Bleeker duffle tote purse is made with Coach signature fabrics, suede, leather, Coach embossed suede, and tattersall, with an outside leather Coach embossed slip pocket with brass turnlock detail, with midnight blue satin lining, brass hardware, inside zip pocket, and measures 13 inches long by 11 inches high by 5 inches wide.

And the price tag says...

$310.  Is that true or false?
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 37--PG #6
Post by: sideshowPA on February 24, 2009, 09:13:49 PM
It's such a pain when you get the first one wrong, because now instead of focusing on the price of the bag, I am playing the true/false distribution game.  My gut says that is FALSE
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 37--PG #6
Post by: Mallory16 on February 24, 2009, 09:20:05 PM
sidey says $310 is false.

ding!

And you're right!  It's $368, and that means you've won one choice of the five price tags!

And as you can see, one of the tall price tag car backdrops is illuminating, just to bring that point home that you have a choice of the five price tags.  I bet you would like more chances though, huh?  Holly, take the bag away, and Dian, bring out another prize!

Rich:  From the Robert Abbey Tic-Tac-Toe collection, this O-shaped table lamp has a metal base with marble accents with a rectangular dupioni silk shade with three-way switching, and is 22.75 inches high.

And the price says...

$430, true or false?

sidey says true!

bonk!

Ooh, no... it's false, it's $354.  sidey, you seem to have better luck with Holly's prizes, so Holly, rub some luck onto that last prize, and Rich, tell us a little bit about it!

Rich:  From Rapid, the R90 EPI90141 deluxe electric stapler with adjustable anvil can easily staple up to 30 sheets of paper together.

And the price on that says...

$211.  Is that price true or false?

But not today...that sounds TRUE

All right, $211, please be true!

bonk!

No... no... take that away, Holly.  Janice, bring out the five price tags.

This will be tough, but it's been done before!  I mean, not on this show:  you're the first person who's won only one choice on this show, but you could also be the first person to win with only one choice!  Think of it like that!  If you can pick out the price price for this automobile, it's yours!  This is it, so make it count!  Janice, do whatever good luck thing you can for him!

All right, sidey has chosen $36,720.  This has to be right, or you don't win the car, since you only won one pick off the board.  It all rests on whether we see "WIN!" or "NO" behind that price tag... ooh, I'm so nervous... I can hardly handle the pressure, but I must do what I must do!  Make him a winner!

BONK!  TPiR losing horns play.

No... no... it wasn't $36,720... what was the price?  Was it $39,265?

No.  $35,640?

No.  $37,410?

No.  I'll just bet it was $38,105.

Yeah, that's what it was.  $38,105.  sidey, I'm sorry this didn't work out for you.  I hope it's still one of your favorites.  Can't ever get the sixth game won, can we?  Darn.  Showcase showdown #2, next.

Oh... over by a mere nickel.  sidey, I'm sorry, but Hannah, you're going to be in the showcase, next!

***

goldroadfanatic, you are the top winner in today's showcase, Hannah, you are the runner-up, and this is the first showcase!

Rich:  Ladies and gentlement, start your... err, running shoes, for it's the day of the big race between Shantae and Rottytops, the ultimate fate of the world being in Shantae's hands.  But Shantae had to fix up her hair before coming here today, and she did it with this shampoo.  This 12 oz. bottle of Herbal Essences' Drama Clean shampoo with a fusion berry tea and orange flower flavoring, or something weird like that, has a bizarre catch phrase on the bottle, as if the berry tea and orange flower were talking to you.  Bizarro.

But Shantae was in for a shock when she arrived at the big race, for Rottytops had brought a secret weapon to ensure her victory:  these new running shoes.  The Lowa women's lady GTX Trail running shoes have a 6 inch high shaft, and feature Gore-Tex for climate-controlled comfort and waterproofing, and midsole and outsole Vibram sole with shock-absorbing polyurethane midsole and pronation and supinatioin zones.

They worked well for ol' Rotty, but Shantae was trailing too close for comfort, so she started throwing everything she had at Shantae.  Literally.  Everything, including sticks, stones, tomatoes, cauliflower, an arm, and even this elegant kitchen sink.  The Franke Magnum Series PRX720C 48-inch work top double bowl stainless steel sink with curved rolled front features a wooden knife rack and three deep utensil wells, has two bowls that are 9.0625 inches deep, 21.25 by 18.875 inches around.

But Shantae then figured if Rottytops was going to play dirty, then so could she, so she did her magical dance that transformed her into a new car!  A Chevy Malibu LTZ, a great car for winning a race against someone who doesn't have a car, and never even knew cars existed in her unlifetime.  Comes with standard features, 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, HFV6 engine package, rear power package, red jewel tincoat, power sunroof, engine block heater, and power center, a Chevy Malibu!

And this showcase, where Shantae can now continue her quest to save the world, being threatened by a risky villain now shaking in her boots, can be yours if the price is right!

And goldie, are you going to bid on this showcase, or are you going to let Hannah have a crack at it?

All right, goldie has bid $29,657 on his showcase, and now, Hannah, this is your showcase!  Dim the lights!

Rich:  This showcase contains something for every room in the house, and for the bedroom, this comfortable bed.  From furnitureontheweb.com, the Desert tan finish king size bed includes the king size headboard and footboard with metal frame and metal sidebars with a center design of eleven metal round bars with scrolls.  And for a comfortable night's sleep, the king size Visco foam mattress and box spring set includes a foam piece that's 12 inches high with 2 inch, 5 pound Visco foam and 10 inch, 2 pound PU foam, and the box spring offers pocket coil unit consturction with jacquard velour and non-skid bottom.

The Northland 72SSSS built-in side-by-side refrigerator has stainless steel interior, automatic ice maker, and automatic defrost, has twelve refrigerator glass shelves, six adjustable door bins, ten freezer shelves, 24.2 cubic foot refrigerator capacity, 24.1 cubic foot freezer capacity, and measures 72 inches wide by 27.125 inches deep by 84.125 inches high.

And you can always tell the time with this stately grandfather clock.  From Howard Miller, the J.H. Miller grandfather clock with tubular bells was designed by Chris Bergelin and features sixteen different species of hardwoods and veneers, including Cherry, Crotch Figured Mahogany, Russian Walnut Burl, Movingue, Maple, Ebony, Padauk, Silver Gum, Black Cherry, Magnolia, Beech, Avodire, Anegre, Pearwood, English Sycamore, and Boxwood, with a beautiful swan neck pediment crowned with three carved finials, two carved rosettes, and a carved finial shell at the center, and on the pediment, bookmatched Russian Walnut Burl with floral inlays framed with a Movingue border with Ebony and Maple accent lines, with an ornate polished brass, Roman numeral dial with custom cast corners, center, and moon arch ornaments, with a numbered cast center disk with a removable engraving plate for personal inscriptions.

And for the bathroom, a relaxing bath tub.  The Neo Tub Double Wall has a 105 gallon capacity and is 72.5 inches long, and includes the Hydro Massage Jet System.  And this showcase, featuring something for every room in the house, can be yours if the price is right!

*Well, no one did very well with the FPG this time.  No one got more than one game, and no one picked that one game in the right slot.  But there is still a winner, for having the most confidence that Eazy az 1-2-3 would show up at some point today:  prizes22!  prizes, you get to be a first four contestant next episode!

*It's too bad there are no big door GP games.

*For those of you wondering why the heck it took so long for Now or Then to be played a second time:  it's a pain in the butt to set up.

*That's the second time I tried the "wrong price in Safe Crackers makes the big prize end in 995" trick, and the second time it worked.  You guys (and girl) need to watch it there ;).

*To make Army happy, since sidey wouldn't cooperate:

I think someone messed with your tape Frank, the last showcase graphic just showed what the bids were, not a blank orange podium and a purple podium with a blinking "49890" on it.

Other than that, I finally won one of Frank's shows!

You said it - Hannah's Showcase price...:-o :-o :-o Some definite Frankoids in that one, methinks.

Well, it was fun as always, Frank - but no more with Hannah, unless you really want her as a contestant again.

You were off by over $50,000, so of course, goldie wins!

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

$65,000+ for all that!?  My goodness, there should've been something for the garage!

Geez, that was more of a garf than I thought. (Incidently, I would have bid around $33,000 on the mega items.) With that price, you could even buy a small house. As Daniel/Hannah put it, that was on Frankoids- an abuser of the drug. Time for that showcase to go on rehab. I always go by size and typical size when Frank does a fridge or similar item- those items were huge; larger than life. I'd love to see those things in person!

Oh, goody, won the Prediction Game!   Only my second shot at one of these. Thank you, Frank! I'll certainly remember this show for the items and the FPG. Thanks again!

Well, I called her down again here since "she wanted revenge" in the sign-up post... either way, just let me know in the next sign-up post.  I'm flexible :).

Okay, then, I'll let you know. Seriously, though, could you show the prices for Showcase #2? I want to know what EXACTLY caused me--I mean, Hannah to GARF so badly.

I think she's had enough, though, and-huh? "How about me?" ...No. You scare me as it is, I don't think that THEY want you, either.

"...Why?" Because, and I'll be quite honest, you would switch from one thing to another during the show...although an old lady might be fun for once- "Don't make me whack you with my yardstick, Daniel."

Ah, whatever. See you all for the Episode 38 signups!

Hannah pretty much garfed on it all, actually.  Only one of the four prizes was less than the bid for the whole showcase.

Bed:  $16,451
Fridge:  $12,169
Clock:  $21,075
Tub:  $16,025

...Yeeeaaah, there's no way I would have suggested THAT much. I wouldn't pay more than about $6,500 for a grandfather clock, let alone more than $21,000.

...Where did you find this stuff, Frank - Solid Gold Mart? :oldlol:

That "Every Room in the House" Showcase was $65,000!?  Geez, I've set up forced Willy of the Centuries before, but this is definitely a forced :gotc:!

Eh, just slap a big ol' bullseye over the Danger Price octagon and put a table full of crap in front of it.  :)

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Also, that certainly was a tough ERiTH...I never would have bid more than, oh, $45-50,000 on it.  :)

... I might use that for my first HYO show, if you don't mind.

Not. Helping. Army. That ERITH really overdosed on the Frank-oids, and I would have NEVER guessed anything above $20,000 for that Showcase...or above $10,000 for ANY of those items, in fact, had they been in a pricing game. Not that Hannah bidding $20,000 would've helped, mind you. Or $50,000.
