Title: goldroadfanatic's TPIR episode #21: THE END
Post by: goldroadfanatic on June 06, 2010, 03:02:24 PM
On our last show, the prize department went all out-there was an $88,000 Nissan GT-R at the end of the Golden Road, Plinko was played, Double Prices was played for a car, and a very expensive Lexus was in the showcase.  As a result, it's a return to normalcy here, but that still doesn't mean you can't sign up to win something spiffy, I greatly encourage you to!  Here are the rules:

*Contestants will have 24 hours to place a bid, play their games, etc..  If you miss your turn once, you'll receive a warning; miss it again, and you're eliminated from the show.
*I will send a private message to call people down but afterwards, it is the contestant's responsibility to continue their game by checking the thread for updates.
*If you are going to be absent from the game when it's your turn for one reason or another, please send a private message to me and I'll figure out what the best way to handle the situation is.
*Audience participation is encouraged.
*If someone is eliminated from the show for whatever reason, I will notify that contestant's replacement via a PM and bring them up to speed.
*The show will begin on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 4:30 PM EDT.

As always, good luck and have fun!

All the bids are in; the actual retail price of those fans is $1,890, and larryboy is the winner!

(http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/8065/rangegame.png) (http://img193.imageshack.us/i/rangegame.png/)

Right up here next to me, larry.  I welcome you to the stage.  You're going to play the first pricing game of our show for something quite spiffy; that spiffy prize is right behind those doors!

(door #3 opens)(Amen, Brother Herbert)

It's a new boat!

(applause)(Holly models it)

From Sun Tracker comes the Bass Buggy 18!  Its practical, no-nonsense layout is perfect for families who simply want a basic, easy-to-maneuver, easy-to-own pontoon. There’s ample room for a crew of seven with an open floor plan with plenty of casting room fore and aft.  It features a color-coordinated six polyester Bimini top and dual-latching gates that open inward, goldroadfanatic!

(http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/8065/rangegame.png) (http://img97.imageshack.us/i/rangegame.png/)

Now, we aren't fooling around here, larry.  That boat is at least $12,300 in price, and the actual retail price lies somewhere on this scale from $12,300 to $12,900.  In a moment, this rangefinder will move up the scale.  It covers a $150 area, and when you think the price of the boat is anywhere in this red area, press the button to stop the rangefinder.   If the price falls in the red area, wherever you stop it, you'll win.  Step over there and I'll ask them to start the rangefinder!

(Just post what you want your $150 range to be)

I hope you win that car, Kitch, because it would be the best way to break even for the day, with three games out of six won.  You're going to play Pocket ˘hange, and I'm going to give you 25˘ in pocket change.

Okay, right back here.  You need a total of $1.00 in order to win the car.  I gave you 25 cents at the beginning of the game, so you'll start off with that.

(http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/5848/pocketchange1.png) (http://img695.imageshack.us/i/pocketchange1.png/)

DING

These four envelopes must contain a total of at least seventy-five cents in order for you to win.  Your first envelope contains...

(http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/8189/slip1.png) (http://img227.imageshack.us/i/slip1.png/)

...a nickel, up to 30 cents.

(http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/5848/pocketchange1.png) (http://img529.imageshack.us/i/pocketchange1.png/)

DING

In the next envelope is...

(http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/8937/slip2.png) (http://img408.imageshack.us/i/slip2.png/)

...nothing!

BUZZZZZZZZZZZ

You're still at 30 cents.  I want to see him win that car, and we'll add to his total...

...25 cents!

(http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/5848/pocketchange1.png) (http://img149.imageshack.us/i/pocketchange1.png/)

DING(applause)

You're at 55 cents now, Kev.  If this last envelope contains at least a half, or 50 cents, you will win that beautiful car over there!  You said you were feeling lucky and thought the $2.00 card was in #16.  Well...

...it turns out...

...that...

...it's not $2.00...

Title: Re: goldroadfanatic's TPIR episode #21: FINALE (Comments Welcome!)
Post by: goldroadfanatic on June 18, 2010, 03:54:39 PM
This show was full of exciting moments, I have to say.  A couple of them resulted in disappointing losses, while one was an exciting win!  Here are the stats:

Games: 3 for 6

Winnings by Contestant:

larryboy389: $29,255
pathfinder20: $1,293
vadernader: $8,145
pricefan1991:$6,424
UniquePerspective: $1,780
Kitch: $659
Kev347: $16,985

Total Winnings: $63,882

Notes:
*Range Game appeared for the first time since episode #9 (where it was won), and it returned with a more detailed set.
*Pathfinder appeared for the first time since episode #9 (where it was won).  Like the last playing, all three small prizes were won.
*Shopping Spree and Safe Crackers both appeared last on episode #13.   Shopping Spree was won, and Safe Crackers has finally been won on this series with this playing.
*Hi Lo appears for the third time this series, after being seen last on episode #15, where it was lost, like this time.
*Pocket ˘hange continues its winning streak for a third time.  Interestingly, in all three times the game has appeared on this series (episodes 4, 11, and 21), the nickel and half cards were picked.

As always, any questions and comments are welcome.
