Other than the obvious reason for the audience entrance (Golden Road), was there any other reason? Drew hasn't done an audience entrance for Golden Road all season.... I haven't been keeping count, but is this Drew's 200th show, perhaps?
170th show for Drew.Negative. 172nd.
I'm not saying Golden Road should have been won, but it shouldn't have been lost like that. Why do people think there's repeating numbers in that game?
The rest of the show, though, he was falling back into all of his old habits, rushing through all of his lines and looking like he just didn't care.
I'm surprised to see some comments about the show not being that good today... I thought it was pretty enjoyable.
I'm surprised to see some comments about the show not being that good today... I thought it was pretty enjoyable. It always amazes me how the shows with few wins end up being really good sometimes. Were we watching the same show? Today show summed up in one word was..... BAD.
I can't imagine why...Drew's hosting was bad to abysmal for most of the hour, and there wasn't really anything else happening to pick up his slack.I don't know... something about this show was just more exciting than usual. The audience seemed really into it, Drew finally entered from the audience, and the whole thing with Norma was hilarious.
However, today, unless they used an extremely tight shot of Drew coming through the big doors and no sweeping camera shot, GR as game 1 would've been given away by the necessary staging of the prize pod w/ the clock. It's doubtful that could've been moved into place quickly enough once Drew throws to Rich for IUFB1. Thus, the audience entrace was necessary.
Pushy: Either $4,047 or $4,701 could've been right. (Don't even say it, Frank.)
When was the last time a number repeated in the price of the large prize?
I think it was in a 1984 playing for a $24K Lincoln Town Car. I think the price was $24535.

No comment about magic number or grand game.
For the "more experienced TPIR Stat folks here...when is the last time a contestant "washed out" on the 1st pick in the Grand Game?>
The rest of the show, though, he was falling back into all of his old habits, rushing through all of his lines and looking like he just didn't care. It wasn't a very fun show to watch, especially knowing now that he can do a lot better than this.
Drew really rushed through the second bidding round, he threw to the patio furniture before Norma finished coming on down.
I had no idea saunas could be so cheap. When I first saw the sofa and sauna, I thought that this playing would be pretty easy, but the Dob prevailed.
... not to mention a forced loss in Dice Game ...
I'm saying it. Why, Fiery, why? Why are you so deliberately stubborn on this matter? There was no way that $4701 could have been right. And there was virtually no way anyone would have actually guessed $4701. If 99% of the show's most casual viewers can even pick up on that, why can't you, who should be a loyal friend and true?
Frank did, and I will, too: Roger has already stated pretty much definitively that the first choice in Push Over is always going to be wrong.
There was a Double Overbid in the Showcase. too? Just perfect for this snore job today. *faints*
Wait, your calling a show you obviously didn't watch a snore job? Gimme a break.
I don't care that I'm in the 1% who is still holding out hope for the one time that Roger sticks it first.
That's Drew though. If you are looking for an excitable host, he's the wrong guy.
I don't care that I'm in the 1% who is still holding out hope for the one time that Roger sticks it first. That would thrill me more than Lucky Seven in the 6th slot thrills Frank. It's not stubbornness or arrogance. It's conviction. There is a difference.
On a personal note, I got to be who I am today by being rooted in the belief that the impossible can happen, not by complacence or by just "going along with everybody else".
In Barbara's defense, the online video (for me at least) cut off after the second Showcase Showdown, so there may have been no opportunity to watch it. Give Barbara a break.
Wow, was this really taped the same day as last Friday's show?! Drew was totally off his game today, except, oddly enough, during the Showcase, which he probably hosted better than he ever has.

I try not to look for things I dislike, whether about the host, announcer, or contestant. (This goes for all shows, not just The Price is Right.)
