Title: Res's Price is Right Episode 2 - THE END
Post by: res0xn12 on February 02, 2009, 08:19:53 PM
Happy Groundhog Day (although he saw his shadow):

In our last show, I had my clocked cleaned by WPGHI5 with his win in Golden Road and winning 100 G's on the wheel.  We also had Prizes22 win a Jaguar.  Well, who's up now for another run of Res's Price is Right?

Rules for Res's Price is Right:

1) Contestants have 24 hours to make their bids in contestants' row, or to make guesses in their pricing games, to make their spins on the wheel, and to make their bids in the showcases.  Miss once during the IUFB and it's a Warning. Miss Twice...YER OUT!   If you miss the deadline during the other parts of the show, except the Showcase, YER OUT!  If you miss your deadline in the Showcase, you forfeit!  Be forewarned!  However, I will make exceptions if extenuating circumstances apply!   Smile

2)  PM's will be sent to those selected for Contestant's Row.  After that, it will be your responsibility to watch the thread!

3)  Audience Participation is HIGHLY Encouraged!!!!! (Except for the IUFB, so that everyone gets a fair chance!)

4)  Have Fun!  Feel Free to Make Comments and Suggestions as we go.

Now, to the good stuff:

How do you sign up?  It's simple, just reply to this forum and sign up, tell me a little about yourself and answer this question: "If I had to choose, what game would I play and why?"  I will choose contestants from your responses as well as randomization.

Sign-ups will be accepted through Sunday, Feb 8 at 9:00 pm, since that's when the show will (approximately) start!  If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the thread, or PM me!  See you Sunday Evening!

I'll sign up first, trying to defend my showcase crown! If I were to play any game, it would be Golden Road, because there's nothing overly busting your budget on a Host Your Own, and why not on me?

I'm in and well I wanna play since I just finished up my own show not long ago and i'm itching to play. If I had to choose one game to play it'd be Grand Game--love the color scheme, always loved the game, esp. the intro and well, green just shouts "money money money."

No doubt I'll be in Res to clean house yet again and avenge my showcase loss! If I were to choose one game it will definitely be Card Game because it definitely has a Vegas feel to it with the way the cards are being spread out. Why not take the gamble to win yourself a new car?

You didn't answer my question ... "If I had to choose, what game would I play and why?"

I'd like to play cliffhangers if I had the shot to.  Always liked the music in that one

Hey, I'll sign up. I'm Daniel Benfield, I'm 20 years old and enjoy writing, reading, and walking (I have no car).

I would want to play Dice Game, mainly because it's one of the first games I saw when I was younger - and also because it's Vegas-esque. :-D

I am definitely in. If I had to choose what game to play, I would say 3 strikes. This is because the cars offered are so awesome. (Corvettes, Cadillacs, Lincolns)

I'll play.

If I had to pick any game. I'd pick Cover Up so that I can hopefully actually use the strategy on it.

I'd like to play. My name's Allen and I'm due to turn 15 on Valentine's Day.

I'd love to play Master Key. It's just always been one of my favorites and I don't really know why.

I'll join.

If I had to pick any game to play, it would be Step Up.

It and all the rest of the multiprizers seem to have ran away together on the real show.

I looked those over before I signed up for this.....I don't see anything in there about a post count/joining date....except that you have to have 20% of your posts outside this area (which up until yesterday 100% were). I know I'm new but I thought this would be fun.... :-? :-(

however it's your show....

I have to kick myself in the foot, because I thought there was a post number as well, it just says 20%.  So, I guess I must follow the rules and allow you to be a contestant.  Be aware though that you may not be called.

Around the turntable comes the Shell Game.

This is one of my favorite games, and Prizes, you get to play it today!

We're gonna mix up these shells here and there is a ball under one of these shells.  The way you win the trip is with these little red chips over here and the way you win these chips is with these small prizes over here.  Rich, explain what the first item is for us today!

Rich:  Enjoy the quirkiness of America's loveable serial killer, Dexter, with this DVD collection of the first and second seasons of the show.

Rachel, What is the WRONG price of the DVDs?

Rich, if you'd please:

That's a cool small prize! Given all those razors, it looks HIGHER to me. If I get it right, Shell 3 is my guess for the $500 dollar bonus.

Good one. Got to love Frank's humor.  :oldlol:

To answer the question, sort of. I don't want to have him go offline between me picking the SP as higher and me saying I want Shell 3. It's a time issue. I normally would let him continue the suspense, though, as that's the point of Shell Game at this point, of course.
Title: Re: Res's Price is Right Episode 2 - PG #1
Post by: res0xn12 on February 09, 2009, 06:53:06 PM
If it's Higher, you win the trip, and we talk about the next stage.  Rachel, please let it be Higher!!!!

$36

*DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING*

It's higher!  Boy was our producer really evil there!  Put that chip beside #1!

Now, if you can tell me where the ball is, not only do you win the Trip to Italy (which you've already won), you win a CASH BONUS!  But, But, BUT, I say, it's not $500.  As of this season, our producer has decided to increase the cash amount to $1,000!  Wouldn't that be nice spending money in Italy?  Which shell has the ball?

"This one, res" (points to shell 3)

Very well.  Audience, Prizes has chosen Shell 3.

Let's start looking, shall we?

Is the ball under #1?

*BONK*  - Nope!

Is the ball under #4?

*BONK*  - Nope!  This is getting exciting, you now have a 50-50 chance of winning the $1,000! (audience excitement)

Is the ball under #3?

*BONK*  - Oh No!  The ball was under #2.

I'm sorry Prizes.  No cash bonus, but you did win the trip to Italy, go over to Kathy's desk to pick up your ticket!

Well folks, we had a winner and we're gonna look for more winners after this annoucement!

The 2009 Lincoln Towncar Signature Limited, comes with Standard Equipment, the Lincoln Towncar!

Flerbert, You have a chance to win a LINCOLN!  Now the lovely Shane is showing us the 5 Price Tags for this game.

As you can see, this LINCOLN! could be anywhere from $39,000 to $53,000.  Your job is to tell me which Price Tag is Correct and you get up to four (4) tries to do so.

The way you earn those 4 tries is with these little True/False statements over here.  Shane, could you please wheel back the Price Tags for a moment, and Gwendolyn, please bring out the first small item over here.  Listen very carefully as Rich describes it for you.

Rich:  This chest freezer has 16.8 cubic ft of space to put your freezable food in.

Now, we have a price of

$298

is that price TRUE or FALSE?  If you're right, you win a chance at the car!

And the act... - *CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG*

Somebody is exactly right!  (The Price was updated after submission of the rough draft)

And not only do they win the computer, they win a $1000 cash bonus!

(Waves $1000 at the audience), it goes to the contestant who bids ....  $1499, 88JRFAN, that's you!  Come up on stage and meet me right here at door #2 if you'd please!

Now 88, how would you like to win these?  Take a look at the screen at the back!

Rich:  A Trip to Paris and a Trip to Berlin!

First, you and a guest will fly from Los Angeles to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris where you'll spend 6 days and 7 nights in exotic Paris.  Enjoy the City of Lights with a 4 day guided tour.

Second, you and a guest will fly from LA to Berlin where you'll spend 6 days and 7 nights in Germany's capital city.  There, you'll see the Brandenberg Gate as well as other famous sites in Germany with a 3 day guided tour.

Now, 88, we have a price on the trip to Paris at $5,807 and we have a price on the trip to Berlin at $7,087.  Should prices stay where they are, OR, should they be switched?  If you're right, you win two trips to Europe!

And we're back with the first showcase showdown!

Now, Flerbert is the big winner this half, winning that beautiful Lincoln in 5 Price Tags.  Then, Prizes22 won his trip to Italy, but missed out on the Shell Game bonus. However, 88JRFAN had some bad luck in Switch?.    Each of you will spin our wheel here, and the one of you who is closest to $1.00 without going over will advance to the Showcase!  If you land on the $1.00 in one spin or a combination of 2 spins, you will win a $5,000 Bonus and a Bonus Spin!  If in that Bonus Spin, you land on the Nickel (5) or the Fifteen (15) cent spots, you will earn $10,000!  If you land on that dollar in your Bonus Spin, you will win $25,000!  So, 88, since you won the least, you spin first!

And the actual retail price is ... $649 and WPGHI5!  Come On Up Here and Meet me on Center Stage!

Now, WP, I've given away a Lincoln, I've given away a Trip to Italy, wouldn't you like for me to give away THIS ?!!!

Rich:  WP, Take a Look!  It's a NEW CAR!!!!!

The 2009 Pontiac Vibe, Comes with Standard Equipment and XM Satelite Radio.  The Pontiac Vibe!

Now, WP, I'm going to give you a 25 cent voucher (hands the voucher to WP).  Do you know how much it is to buy the car?

WP:  *25 cents?*

Yes, right now, 25 cents!  But, it's not that easy.  You're going to play Pocket Change!

The first step in winning the car is to know the price of the car!

So, WP, what is the next number in the price of the car?

*DING*

YES, It is!  I have a player here! Kathy, make a note of this show!  I could have an exacta on my hands here!

Go take another envelope off the board (takes #7)

You're in a real good situation now WP.  2 numbers left, 2 envelopes, the car is only 25 cents!  What is the next number in the price of the car?  (If you're right, what is your envelope choice as well?)

Very well, WP!

The price of the car is 50 cents!  We know you already have 25 cents, so light that up on the board please!

Now, let's take a look to see if you have the other 25 cents!

In the first envelope here, it looks like ...  10 cents!

That brings you up to 35 cents!  You need 15 cents to win the car!

In the next envelope here ... Well, WP!  This is interesting, this is interesting indeed.  I want you to take a look at the breakdown over here of the change amounts.  We have :

  and

1 of these ...

The price of this IUFB was changed after the rough draft was sent to Frank!

*CLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANG*

And that sound means that one of you is exactly right!  The $1000 bonus goes to the contestant who bid $400!  Daniel, that's you!

Now Daniel, take a look because, were gonna' give you this stuff here!

Rich:  It's furniture for the ENTIRE HOUSE!

From roomstore.com comes this elegant Living Room!

This Dining Room!

And This Bed Room!

These rooms come furnished as shown!  From roomstore.com, a retail package worth $4,898!

Now, Daniel, I hope you played Tic-Tac-Toe when you were young, because today, you're going to play Secret "X"!

The object of this game is to make three X's in a row.  You can make three in a row horizontally (top, middle, or bottom row), or three diagonally (top left to bottom right, or bottom left to top right)!  We'll give you one X to put wherever you want to (in any of the yellow boxes!) !  Now, put you're X wherever you want to!

Title: Re: Res's Price is Right Episode 2 - PG#5

*places free X in top-left corner*

You know, Res, that one-bid was pretty easy - I saw that there were five games in that one box in the top-right corner. They usually sell for  $20 each, so I figured $100. I knew that Sonic Unleashed is a relatively-new game and was about $50. Then I added those to the $250 price of the Wii...and there you go.

*applause*

Well, the Wii is much better to price than the gift card  , but anyways...

Now, the way you earn the other two X's is by pricing these two small items over here.  Rich, if you'd please!

Rich:  First, this alarm clock is also a alerter for severe weather in your area, especially if you don't have the air raid sirens!

Second, this mini-fridge is just the right size for you to put your drinks in for the office desk, or in your dorm room!

Ok, for the alarm clock, is the right price -

$120    or   $68?

And if you're right, where do you want to put the next "X"?

Title: Re: Res's Price is Right Episode 2 - PG#5
Post by: WarioBarker on February 21, 2009, 08:26:04 PM
I'll say $120, and place that X in the top-right corner should I be right.
Title: Re: Res's Price is Right Episode 2 - PG#5
Post by: res0xn12 on February 21, 2009, 08:38:02 PM
$120, Rachel!

$120     $65

$120

*DING*

You're right Daniel!  Take this "X" and put it on the board.  (Puts it Top Right)

Now Daniel, for the Mini-Fridge, is it

$180  or $120?  (And what will be your pick for the other "X"?)
Title: Re: Res's Price is Right Episode 2 - PG#5
Post by: WarioBarker on February 21, 2009, 08:59:33 PM
First, I noticed that the "false" price for the alarm clock just changed from $68 to $65...and second, if I'm right I'll take the bottom-right corner.

As for the mini-fridge...suggestions? I THINK it's also $120 (because wouldn't that be fun?), but I want to get some advice first.

There was indeed a TYPO there.  Sorry!  The false price was intended to be $68.  It does NOT affect the outcome of the game!

Audience, HELP HIM OUT!

Title: Re: Res's Price is Right Episode 2 - PG#5
Post by: Prizes on February 21, 2009, 10:12:52 PM
I believe you're right, Daniel. Given the size, I don't think this is one of those $200 mini-fridges. Given also, that the descriptor said 'office'. Most 'office' items range from $85-$150. That's why I feel it's $120 as well. When I started thinking about this, for some odd reason, the Switcheroo cue came on in my head...

Switcheroo cue for Secret "X"?  That doesn't sound right... I was thinking one of the Cats remixes, myself.  Or maybe I heard wrong.  What cue was that anyway, ressy?

And sorry Daniel... against my code of honor to help with these shows now.

Very well Daniel!  If the secret X is here (center top) you win, if the secret X is here (center middle) you win, if the secret X is here ... well, let's not talk about that, cause we know that the secret X is here, is here, is HEREEEE!!!!! (Pushes Button)

I like to be unpredictable with my game selections and thus timing will be different each time.  I like to make great lineups, I'm not sure if this one would be considered "great" or not.

Who knows, I may put *Coughs Switcheroo* with *Coughs Master Key* and *Coughs Plinko*, next time...

I don't think it's the lineup that reminds us of 1974, as much as the multiple choices for the digits in Temptation

Very Well, Rob!  I'll take you're final answer for the price of the car to be $29,780!

Now, Rob!  I have a proposition for you!  Well, actually, it's a choice.  I have presented you with $8,327 in gifts, including the gold bars and the cash!  Now, you can take those prizes and quit right now, or you can go for the car!  However, If you have even 1 number wrong, NO CAR and NOOOO GIFTS!  What's your decision

Rob:  I'm quitting!

I think that's a very smart thing to do, especially with that much moolah on the line!  But, let's see if you would've won the car!

Oh, Rob!  You did the right thing!  Let's reveal the rest of the price!  (Hits all buttons in order to reveal the following)

Well, Rob, at least you didn't go for it!  It would've been an Epic Fail!  But you have the Cash, the Gold, the Dishwasher and the Vacuum as well as the Lawn Mower, and you also get to spin the wheel after this announcement!

16 and 12, Res. I'll stop at 55 and up.

And what "math error" was there? Last time I was involved in a math error it cost Bully a Showcase in his seventh episode.

Daniel, to answer your question, I had inadvertently forgot to add in a couple of things, but caught myself after checking my records.  They are correct, and I triple checked them to make sure.  :headbang:
===============================================

And Daniel Gives it a Spin ... *BOOP BOOP BOOP BOOP*, Daniel, Daniel, DANIEL   .... YOU GOT ITTTTT!!!!!

$1.00

*DING DING DING DING DING*

$5,000

You've got a cool $5,000 for that spin, and now, Rob and WP, you gotta tie him to stay in the game.  Daniel, stand right over there and wait for your bonus spin.

Rob, it's your turn!

That's right!  I think when you see the price revealed you'll understand my rationale for the multiple choices.

I still don't understand the rationale for having so many multiple choices in Temptation.  It was near impossible to win.  Even Frank wouldn't be that mean...

And WP gives it a mighty spin *BOOP BOOP BOOP BOOP*,  I don't believe it, I DON'T BELIEVE IT, I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!

ONE DOLLAR!

$1.00

*DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING*

$5,000

Who's RIGGED this wheel (inspects wheel)?  I guess it's on fire!  Now, it's time for a bonus spinoff.  All three of you over here, now please!

Thank you!  Now, each of you gets one (1) spin to see who gets to go to the showcase.  This spin also counts as your Bonus Spin!  Land the Nickel or 15, it's a mighty ten grand ($10,000).  Land the dollar and it's twenty-five thousand ($25,000)!

(Sets the Wheel to .05)

Now all 3 of you make sure you get it all the way around, or it doesn't count and you disqualify yourself from any more money!

Daniel, give that wheel a mighty spin!

Spinning Order:
Daniel, Rob, WPGHI5

===================================

I guess this is what I get for using a randomizer I've never used before.

$21,875   *DING*

Ok, WP, this is YOUR showcase!

RICH:   This showcase is where I, Rich Fields, decide the game line-up for the first three games of an episode.

And of course, I always like to have a good solid lineup. So, I’m starting with Make Your Move, where you can win this Lamp, Jewelry Console, and HDTV!

This lamp will help you stay lit up when doing homework or personal business. The jewelry console will contain your jewelry for you and allow you to get dressed with a mirror.  This HDTV is the right size for the living room and is always good for your entertainment!

Next, We Need to Play A “Quickie” as my friends on “Golden-Road.net” say, so I’ll play Squeeze Play, and Play it For This Juke-Box!

This Jukebox can hold up to 250 songs for you to play over many more years to come!

Finally, I’d like to give you the name of this game, but if I do, I think you’ll know what your next prize is.  So, I’m gonna have them bring it on out to us right now!

(Rachel Drives Truck From Back)  It’s a New Truck!

The 2009 Chevy Silverado comes with Automatic Transmission, AM/FM Stereo, V6 engine, XM Satellite Radio, Engine Block Heater, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Locks, and Power Windows.  The Chevy Silverado!

Of course, I think you know what game I’d slot here.  You’d have to have a “Lucky” Moment to win, but only if the Price is Right!

(Cheers and Applause!)

Res:         Rich, that's an excellent lineup, and WP, what's your bid!

Great show, Res, but I think your math for my total is $300 short - I get $11,538 ($400 + $1000 + $240 + $4898 + $5000).

My guess is that you thought the Secret X prize was $4598 - it's the only logical place where the $300 went missing.
