Well... other than Swap Meet being played last earlier this week, we've had awesome games to end things with all this week!! Gotta love Safe Crackers in the 6 hole.  :D

Hey, Double Prices, got another week off as well. Gotta love that too.  8-)

The only gripe I have about today's lineup is that Race Game was played (and again I love Race Game, but when you have other multi prize games that haven't been seen in eons, you sorta get tired of seeing Race and Swap Meet for that matter over and over again). It's sorta disappointing they used Pushover for a car simply to get Race Game in. They really should have played Credit Card instead (yeah, I know it's a 5 prize game, but it would have made more sense and really justified playing Pushover for a car).

With all of that said, Matthew's playing of Race Game was textbook in how to play the game.

How in the world was Range Game supposed to be won?

Needless to say Wanda played Stack the Deck very, very very badly.

As for Safe Crackers, I would have lost because of my own overanalysis thinking Tommy Bahama stuff has to be expensive and thus thinking it was gonna be $960. In a way, I was sort of amazed Jocelyn won this.

As for the showcases, what is up with all these 3 night trips?

Regarding Race Game...

No, I don't know if this is a record. But he knew what he wanted to do, and he did it without looking to "Them". What's not to like about that?

If I'm not mistaken, the record is 9 seconds. I'm sorry, was - Matthew did it in EIGHT seconds. Way to go, my friend!
===============================================
And regarding Range Game...

For one, that's probably the quickest stop in the game's history. Second, logic dictates that the correct price CANNOT be even $1 higher than the top of this game's $600 scale.

...

Then again, we're not exactly dealing with logical thinkers at Studio 33.

I think the seven second record has been done before in Bob's era.  I also remember reading someone got all 4 right in 6 seconds on the Vegas show.

I think the seven second record has been done before in Bob's era.

Do you have any idea around when that happened? I mainly ask because Matthew did it in eight seconds, not seven.

-Lineup: Relatively strong.
-Pushy: There we go. 9/10
-Pl!nko: Was she really throwing them...? 9/10
-Racey: Excellent!! 11/10
-SD1: 4/5
-Rangey: Sometimes it's going to be as low as she did it, actually. *shrug* 8/10
-Stacky: Rob, I'm not sure if she knew it was  a cheap car. 6-9 was all on the board and the Focus has gone to 19k when loaded. Even if she went -87- and did 16k, she was going to put -5 or -9, not 2. At this juncture you MUST be 3/3 of GPs AND fill in the 3-5 slots to win. 8/10
-Safey: 7583 - 690 = 6893 - a bit different than expected. 9/10
-SD2: 4/5 - odd OVER --> 35 + 10 --> easy win parallelism.
-SC1: Meh... 4/5
-SC2: Much better prizes IMO. :D 5/5
-Results: Wow, both got pretty up there. I knew Sandals was $$$$ because Wheel's been offering it all week, but I guess the Derby really was 10k...it is the biggest day of the year, tonight, to stay... 8/10
-Drew: I'm thinking this has to be pretty close. Good job recognizing something big in any case, Drew, but Stacky winnable often? Heck no... 8/10

PGs: 54/60
SDs: 8/10
SCs: 17/20
Drew: 8/10

87 --> B+

5-digit Push Over:  Good job! :-)
Plinko:  Pretty nice haul! :-)
Race Game:  Won all 4 prizes in record(?) time - awesome! :-D
Range Game:  Stopped juuuuuuuuuuuust a little too soon.
Stack The Deck:  Rats! :-(
Safe Crackers:  Good job! :-)  The platform that the spa was on sure looked neat with the background & the safe door & everything.

Good show overall, IMHO.

Push Over: Gotta love it when they play this for a car. Great win, BTW.

Plinko: $11,500 is a great score. And 3 out of 4 SPs won isn't bad, either.

Race Game: Quite possibly the best playing in the Drew era.

Range Game: If only he had gone a few steps further...

Stack the Deck: What a terrible loss!

Safe Crackers: I knew that beachwear couldn't be $960.

Showcases: I really wanted that Kentucky trip to be won. And would this be the first time that all the trips in both Showcases were three nights instead of the standard six?

Miscellaneous: It's great to see that Double Prices is getting an extended break, but enough with Race Game! Next week, I'd like to see some other multi-prizers like Take Two, Credit Card, Step Up, and Danger Price. Anything but Race Game will do, no matter how much I like it.

The small prize setups in Plinko were bizarre.  I'm surprised Eloisa ended up with four chips and not two.

Race Game was amazing.  That was the best playing I've ever seen.

Range Game, on the other hand, could hardly have been played worse.

Drew suddenly went into full-on Barker mode for about 30 seconds when Wanda started talking about wrecking her friend's car at the beginning of Stack the Deck.  If he could do that consistently (and I know he won't, but let me fantasize for a minute), it'd solve a hell of a lot of problems.

You know, the showcase writing is still awful.  It's awful in a different way than it was at the beginning of the season, but it's still awful.  Everything outside of the prize copy is Rich doing these contrived speeches that prattle on and on about how wonderful the prizes are...and you can't do that after 36 years of not needing to do it without having it sound completely insincere, especially when the showcases themselves aren't as big or as nice as they used to be half the time.  It feels more like a parody than anything else.

(That said, it was actually pretty cool to offer a trip to the Kentucky Derby, although that should have been presented between the bar set and the car.  It doesn't change how I feel about the scripts, though.)

I think that's what they been doing all along. To them, mannerism and professionalism are jokes - it's nothing but formula and repetitiveness. That's why all the formalities - script-wise - have been given the pink slip.

Push Over: I did not look at the other numbers, which made me think 19450 was a little low. I gotta remember to look at the setup all the time.

Plinko: I'm sorry, but Eloisa's top was just waiting to do another Yolanda moment, especially with this game.

Race Game: Great. Digital TV fart at the result. I still say it's one of the fastest.

Range Game: "Whoa! A little too early!"

Stack the Deck: I groaned at two things: Wanda's pick of the Capzasin for $8.99 and the price of the car ending in 72.

Safe Crackers: "No, it can't be as high as 960." I just felt 690 was right.

Showcases: Just hearing about the upcoming Kentucky Derby this week, I just felt a Showcase may have have it, and it did today. I don't think I was the only one who felt a Mustang was about to appear.

Pushover: A nice win to start the show off with.

Plinko: $11,500 is an excellent score.

Race Game: It couldn’t have been played any better. It looked to me like he pulled the lever down when it was at :38, but regardless, it was a fantastic win.  :-D

Range Game: Whoa…stopped it rather early.  :-?

Stack the Deck: I’m going to agree with Steve, banter between Drew and the contestant needs to be happening more frequently. It was nice seeing the banter between Drew, and Wanda.

Safe Crackers: Great way to end the show.  ;D

Showcases: Those trips to the Caribbean looked really nice.  8-)

Fantastic show today. There were some really great wins today.

Hey, Double Prices, got another week off as well.

That's too Much! got a week off as well.

Nancy seemed honestly stunned that she had won her one-bid of the lawnmower. How is it that so many contestants appear completely oblivious to the simple basics of the game? Are there really that many people in the audience who have never seen the show before and have no idea what is going on around them while the show is unfolding right before their very eyes?

It's probably that in the excitment of the pricing game, they just plain forget about the prize they'd won earlier.  Which is how it should be.  It would allow the game to flow more naturally into commercial after a loss if Drew didn't feel so compelled as to remind them of the item.

I feel the same way.  The new staff stopped the putrid slapstick.  However, it is more about "gimmicks" and "cool" these days over class, wit, and professionalism.

And he makes fun of it or makes it sound like he knows it's useless half the time, anyway...that pretty much kills any positive effect it could have had.

Push: Maybe they just wanted to give that Mini Cooper away. $19450 was the definite choice.

Plinko: $11,500 will do just fine.

Race: WOW!!! If that wasn't a quick playing, I didn't know what it was. Great win!!  :-)

Range: Either Nancy wanted it over with as quick as possible or it really was her guess. Either way, She was done for.

Stack: Those Capzasins are so not $8.99 and Wanda choosing 9 and 5 as the last two digits simply asked for another loss.

Safe: I went with $690 as well. very nice.  :-)

Showcases: The Kentucky Derby showcase looked great, though,

A 3-star show.

Opening:  Is it me, or was Eloisa's top just begging for a wardrobe malfunction?

Borko:  This game has been on a mini hot streak lately.  Let's keep it going!

Race:  Enough Race Game, Adam!  But that is how you play Race Game!  What's the record, anyway?  I don't know if 7 seconds is the all-time record, but it's definitely close to the record.

Range:  Eric fail.

Safe:  Whoever is supposed to be in charge of playing the SFX, particularly the safe door creak, pay attention!

SC #1:  Joshua came back from Mexico?  Better check him for swine flu.

SC #2:  WHOO Kentucky! :-D

My showcase bids:
Caribbean--$17,007
Kentucky/Mustang--$26,507

Result:  Holy crap!  How was SC2 so sexy?  I live in Kentucky, and I am shocked at how much that trip to the Kentucky Derby could be.
