Eerily, David was also 35 when he passed.

RIP Michael, you'll be missed.

What a great “come-from-third-place” win for Patton Oswalt, who will play for $1,000,000 (for charity) in the season finale. And a completely traditional, top-to-bottom game as well. :-)

I found all of the Daily Doubles so easy. Anyone else?

Tonight's Bonus Land...I have absolutely NO words.   That puzzle was not only HARD...that was more WHAT ARE YOU DOING than FUN and GAMES.

I have to admit Ben definitely said what we are all thinking here.
Don't forget we have two games running at the moment. Here's both of the submissions so far:

1/27 FPG:

2/1 Primetime WPG (due Saturday 12 PM ET):

First we lost David Downs. Now, another fellow trader that I've traded with previously has unexpectedly passed on way too soon.

RIP  :-(

I'm a little surprised they had a Fire Country episode on a Thursday, since CBS airs it on Fridays. Not only that, but there's a "bonus episode" after CBS's AFC Championship Game coverage this Sunday. (Maybe they expected it to air next week, and next Friday will almost certainly be a Grammys-themed episode?)
The TALK Is Right / Looking for an episode from early 1996(?) featuring my friend Dave
« Last post by AndrewC on January 26, 2023, 08:46:22 PM »
Hello all - apologies if this is the wrong forum. I was at lunch with a family friend today who casually mentioned he'd been featured on an episode of TPIR back in (what he believes to be) early 1996. He gave me a few details about the game and said that he'd love to see the episode again if anyone happens to have a copy. Here's everything he remembers:

He believes he was the first or second contestant called; his name is Dave Corsten.

He played the Check game, and his full name was written on the check - he lost, and still has the "VOID" prop check in his office today.

He spun and lost in the first wheel spin (he thinks he got around 40 cents on the first spin, then went over a dollar on the second spin).

He believes the first item up for bids was a large trampoline, which he won.

He said the winner of the final showcase round was a man named Jesus.

He thinks it was taped sometime around February or March of 1996, but he's not 100% certain (it was, after all, a while ago).

Hopefully someone out there knows of this episode -- sorry, that's all I have to go off of. Any help finding it would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance for your patience and help  ;-)

On further review, you are absolutely right-- I misread it, and did not realize that apparently an attempt was made at even that low point.

When I hit the button to freeze tape it was $16. She won no money, but that was when the button was hit.

This one hits me pretty heard, too. The Game Show Temple was one of the first game show YouTube channels I remember watching. Godspeed, Michael.
