Title: The Ability to Remove Posts?
Post by: bigblue999 on January 16, 2016, 08:06:44 PM
Looking through my recent post in the NFL thread I realized this:

Just want to know if it's a mistake on Chelsea's part or it's activated permanently?

Meh, no biggie, given it's just only your own posts that you can delete. Consider it just a new feature. :)

I added the ability to delete your own posts only. In theory, if you post something, you should be able to remove it - at least, that's my line of thinking.

I think it's a reasonable feature to have.  Sometimes you post something and wish you hadn't, accidentally post in the wrong topic, or accidentally double post.  Perhaps it would be best if it were on a time restriction like post editing that way if an incident comes up and there needs to be evidence you can't just remove it in an attempt to deny it.  I notice, however, as I post this message that there is no remove button.  Was the decision to have it reversed?

I think this feature is pretty dumb. If we want users to think before they post, having the ability to modify anything they say at any time completely negates that mindset and encourages more of a "verbal diarrhea" website in which one can easily "wipe" later.
