Title: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 15--THE END
Post by: Mallory16 on May 07, 2006, 10:15:09 PM
We're just going to continue on here without missing a beat, folks, just continuing right from where we left off.

Now, before our little technical difficulties, we had BRB_TheFireball up on stage, playing Card Game.  And we'll just pick right up from there!  Though Rich, would you please be so kind as to remind Fire what he is playing for?

Rich:  Right, Frank, it's a truck.  Specifically, a Honda Ridgeline RT, a 4-wheel drive 4-door crew cab, and it comes with standard features and a V6 engine.

And everyone may remember that you had the car price up to $15,800, so please light that back up.

ding!

And then, you drew this card.

The ace of clubs.  And of course, with this card, you can make your bid on the truck anything you wish, so long as it's not less than $15,800.  So Fire, you could just say how much you want to make the ace specifically, and you could continue drawing... but I'd assume you probably just want to flat-out tell me what you want to bid on the truck, right?  So just go right on ahead and tell me what you want your bid on that truck to be.

I heard somebody in the audience yell out $26,000, so I'll bid that and stop.

All right, Fire has decided on a bid of $26,000 for the truck.  And Fire, you must be within $3000 of the price without going over in order to win.  And Fire, the actual retail price of the truck...

The one that's right over there.

The one that you may win.

IS!

$27,770, for a difference of!

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

$1770, and you are a winner, Fire!  That's your new truck over there, congratulations!  We'll try to make it a 5-out-of-6er after this!

***

Rich, we need one more player.  Can you provide?

Rich:  I can if BuddyTom is around, come on down!   You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

And Buddy ol' Pal, here come the lovely Holly and the lovely Janice with the next item up for bids.

Rich:  And the lovely Holly and the lovely Janice are bringing on out an exquisite waste receptacle.  From Safco, this plastic waste receptable, or garbage can to be un-PC, has a 38-gallon capacity and lovely aggregate panels to give the appearance of beautiful pebbles to make your home feel more like the outside of a grocery store.  Also includes a 12-inch stainless steel ash urn built into the lid.

And Buddy ol' Pal, you can start us off here.

We'll see, Britey, we'll see... the actual retail price of the garbage can is...

$521, and amazingly, rc has won with his $20 bid!  And rc, I want you to just stand right beside me.  Just stand right there, and your prize is way over yonder!

Rich:  A luxurious living room group.  From Furnishingsontheweb.com, their Golden Living Room set comes with an ornate sofa, two ornate chairs, an ornate end table, and an ornate coffee table, all with gold trim.  It's a prize package worth $29,386!

And you are going to play Cliff Hangers!

See that mountain climber?  You will win that living room group if you can save this little guy's life.  You see, we have three prizes over there, and you have to guess the price of each one.  He'll climb one step up the mountain for every dollar you miss the prices.  Why does he do this?  We have no idea.  But there are 25 steps on the mountain, so as long as you do not miss the prizes by a total of more than $25, he won't fall of the mountain and die, and you will win that lovely living room!  And to help you out, Rich, would you tell rc about the prizes in today's game.

Rich:  All right Frank, today we have this, the HH Scott SCR120 EZ Set clock radio, with a digital readout that automatically sets itself, even adjusting for daylight savings time.

Then, a collection of five books from the Disney Fairies' series, including Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg and The Trouble with Tink.

And finally, from Cuisinart, the SCO-60 deluxe can opener is made from stainless steel.

And now, I want you to give me the price of the clock radio, and just the clock radio.  I want you to get as near to the price as possible.  Again, the mountain climber will go one step for every dollar you miss the price, so what do you believe to be the price of the clock?

Don't worry, Jade.  It's less frustrating when you haven't been around than cases where someone goes to everyone else's Play Along but forgets yours.

Anyway, rc says the clock is $25.  Is he right?

bonk!

No.  Now that mountain climber will move 1 step for every dollar you missed the price.

Yodel-ae-ee, yodel-ae-ee, yodel-ae-ee-oh,
Yodel-ae-ee-oh, yodel-ae-ee-oh!
Yodel-ae-ee, yodel-ae-ee, yodel-ae-ee-oh,
Yodel-ae-ee, yodel-ae-ee-oh!

ding!

Yes!  He finally stopped!  What was the price?

$40!  Now, the mountain climber is on 15.  He can only move ten steps safely, so you must be very close on these last two prizes.

Now, on to the books.  What do you believe to be the price of the books?

$50
Title: Re: Frank's Price is Right: Episode 15--PG #6
Post by: Mallory16 on May 10, 2006, 08:34:54 PM
All right, $50, is that right?

bonk!

No.  Now let's hope you haven't missed it much.

Yodel-ae-ee, yodel-ae-ee, yodel-ae-ee-oh,
Yodel-ae-ee-oh, yodel-ae-ee-oh!

ding!

He stopped on 24!  What was the price!

$41!  You're living dangerously, my friend.

Now, in order to win the living room, you only have $1 to work with.  You can miss it $1 in either direction, but no more than that, else the mountain climber goes splat.  So tell me what you believe to be the price of the can opener, and you have to be really, really close!

All right, rcbought says $43.  Is $43 right?

bonk!

No... and I'm worried.  If that can opener isn't $42 or $44, he's just doomed... well, gotta' get this over with, I guess.  Let's hope he stops right on that 25!

Yodel-ae-ee, yodel-ae-ee-oh!

CRASH!  BSSH!  CLANK CLANK Clank clank clank dink dink...

Ooh... guess we'll have to order that grave stone.  What was the price of the can opener, Kathleen?

$80.  Well, the prices were all in ascending order, if nothing else.  rcbought, I'm sorry, but at least this time this game didn't cost us a perfect show.  Hopefully you can make up for it in our showcase showdown, coming up next!

***

Rich:  Contestants not appearing on stage will receive a My Buddy doll for boys, making it cool for boys to play with dolls once again.

Also, a Lite Brite play set, to make magical creations come to life with the power of light and little colored pegs.

Also, enjoy the whole series of Futurama with this 4-volume DVD set, about the show set in the year 3000.  And now, here's Frank with our showcase showdown!

And rc, spin that wheel!

Well, it was either gonna be $42 or something stupidly high.  I guess it was better to take the $42 than try to predict which stupidly high price Frank wanted to come up with today.  Oh well.  I guess they weren't gonna let a $29,000 furniture package be won easily, now were they?  :-)

Aww, come on.  You've got every right to loathe me for pulling out an $80 prize in Cliff Hangers--I'll admit this is probably the single pricing game I most want lost when I play it, for perhaps obvious reasons--but the anvil is just classic cartoon violence!

Anyway, back with you rc, it looks like the wheel is coming to a stop on...

And I have no idea where it's going to stop, but you've won.  There's just nothing small enough in the neighboorhood here, so Fire, you are going to be in the showcase, next!

***

BRB_TheFireball, you are the top winner in the showcase today, rob79, you are the runner up, and they would like to see the first showcase!

Rich:  This showcase is all about the fun you can have with the word COOK.  And if you add a WARE to the end of the word, you get COOKWARE, as in this lovely cookware.  The Calphalon contemporary stainless 8-piece cookware set is perfect for the chef in your family.

Next, if you take off the COOKWAR, because we were never very interested in the not so great War of the Cooks of the seventeenth century, and we add Mr. T to the beginning, making Mr. TE, 'cause Mr. T makes everything cool... but then, let's take away the Mr. and add a VISION.  TEVISION... no, let's make it French, because French sounds cool, and add a random LE in front of VISION, for LE VISION.  Let's see... TE LE VISION... TELEVISION!

We have our new word TELEVISION, and a TV is your next prize!  It's the Viewsonic N4050W 40-inch Nextvision HD-ready LCD widescreen TV, which you can use to really watch all your favorite shows while paying close detail to every little blemish on every actor!

And finally, we have TELEVISION... let's take out the ELE and the SION, leaving us with TVI, which isn't really English.  Let's throw in an X and a Z in there, because those are the coolest letters of the alphabet... TVIXZ.  Now, let's differentiate for X, so we have to put X on one side of the equation, and delta TVIZ on the other.  Now, we have to use imaginary numbers for this, so pi will do.  X times pi equals TVIZ, plus the square root of the tangent of the trapezoid and the Freakazoid... 3, 9, 46, 371,292... ah, X equals CAR!

It's a new car!  a Toyota Camry, a fun little sedan to go riding around from there and back for all your needs.  Comes with standard features, it's a Toyota Camry!

And this showcase, in which Frank has learned that word play showcases just plain suck, can be yours if the price is right!

And Fire, if you like this showcase, you may bid.  If you don't like it, pass it to rob, and he gets to bid.

All right, and now, rob79, this is your showcase!

Rich:  rob, your showcase features our second annual salute to the Winx Club, and we start with Stella, Princess of Solaria, who is fashion-obsessed, so we're sure she would love this diamond ring.  This invisible setting 0.5 carat diamond bridal ring is absolutely orgeous with I- color and SI clarity, made with ten grams of 14 karot gold.

And we're sure that her Specialist boyfriend Brandon would love to take her on a lovely trip to the Bahamas!  Or more likely, Stella forced him to.  You and a guest will fly round-trip to Nassau of the Bahama Islands via Air Jamaica for a six-night stay at the Holiday Inn, and you'll enjoy the beaches, we guess.

And of course, Bloom and her princely guy Sky would rather take a more low-key vacation, and as such, they might rather take a trip to Carmel!  You and a guest will fly round-trip from Los Angeles to Carmel, California, where you'll spend six nights, and enjoy all the caramel... that is why it's called Carmel, right?

And of course there's Alex, who likes... wait, that's the wrong show.  Get out of here, Alex!

And we're sure our little music-loving Musa would love to give everyone a concert on this fine piano!  The Nord Stage 88 Stage Piano, it's only 35 pounds with a full 88 weighted hammer-action keys, and can produce great piano, organ, and synth sounds with four audio outputs.  And Layla is likely practicing some dance steps to the music Musa is putting out as well.

And Tecna, Flora, and Mirta, feeling rather neglected in this showcase and, for that matter, the actual show, are just going to share their woes at a lovely bar set.  The 475 Mega Bar Wall from Bayview Furniture is great for drinking, and we're pretty sure Magix doesn't have a "must be 21" to drink rule either... I mean, if they're going to show a 17-year-old drinking what's obviously beer, right?

And this showcase, which the Trix are trying to sue us for not including them, can be yours if the price is right!

And rob, what do you bid on all that?

*This is only the third time in the history of this show where the showcase winner came from the second half of the show.  Fire is also the first showcase winner to have played game #5, specifically.  No showcase winner has yet to have played the fourth game.

*And the 15PG here.  Who won?  Well, me kinda', since none of you picked Bump.  For that matter, only one person picked a retired game, period, even though one has been played in every episode since 7.  But forget about me:  with 4 points, for correctly picking Grand Game and Any Number in the right slots, rcbought is the winner!  rcbought, anytime from Episode 16-20, when you sign up, say you'd like automatic entry as one of the first four contestants, and so it shall be!

After Rob's showcase was revealed to be $24,000 even, I had a sneaking suspicion that my showcase would also be $24,000 even.

Aother great show, Frank!  :-)

Great job as always!  I'm enjoying my Lite Brite & membership in the exclusive FFFBC (Frank's First Four Breakfast Club).  And yeah, I had noticed you liked to have a retired game on your shows which is why I picked Hurdles...but after Bump came out first, I knew I was in trouble because:

1.  It wasn't Golden Road, my first pick.
2.  My pick of Hurdles was gone, as I haven't seen more than one retired game on any of your shows.
3.  With Hurdles gone, it meant you were going to play a GP that I didn't have.
4.  The only reason I didn't pick a cash game was due to the G-R pick; once Bump came, I had a feeling a cash game was coming.

All that from just the first game :-o.  This is why I don't do the normal FPGs :-).

The first showcase was surprisingly easy to make worth exactly $24,000.  The second showcase took me forever to get a combination of prizes that worked, though.  I wasn't intending for it to be a 5-prize showcase, either, but it just kinda' worked that way.

You've really put a lot of thought into that, Britey!  Good job there, and yay for being the one person to put a retired game in your lineup.  Just didn't work out.

Oh well, 1 for 6 on predictions (Cliffhangers, and I think I had it second instead of fifth.  Better than nothing, and I suppose $10,000 isn't bad either.
