Title: 2019-2020 NBA Season
Post by: mellongraig on October 22, 2019, 11:56:33 PM
Well, a new NBA season has just started and the Toronto Raptors pick up where they left off in the post-Kawhi Leonard era, winning 130-122 in OT over the New Orleans Pelicans. It will be interesting to see how far they will go after raising the championship banner, and how far the Los Angeles Clippers will go with Kawhi at the helm as well as the other teams this season.

And the Clippers fire the first salvo in the battle of Los Angeles with a 112-102 victory over the Lakers as Kawhi Leonard leads all scorers with 30 points in his Clippers debut.

LeBron comes back to his old stomping grounds in South Beach and teams up with Anthony Davis to lead the Lakers to a well-deserved 113-110 win over the Heat. Safe to say that Showtime is back, with the best team in the league right now.

I apologize for bumping up a topic from December, but the NBA has postponed their season until further notice after tonight's games after a member of the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for the coronavirus.

Well, now it's two members of the Jazz: Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. Perhaps it would be best to cancel the rest of the season and playoffs, but I hope it never comes down to that.

This is reminiscent of the scene in Space Jam where David Stern tells everybody that the season will be postponed because of something mysterious going on (which is later revealed to be a bunch of alien monsters stealing talents from various players and Michael Jordan has to beat them in a high-stakes game, which he does).
