What on earth was up with our pitching staff? What the hell, Bochy?

There's no need to scream, dude. It's just baseball. It's not the end of the world.

Washington's magic number is now 5 after beating the Mets and Texas sweeping Atlanta.

Clayton Kershaw wins his 19th game of the season.

Baltimore's magic number to clinch the AL East is 4. Los Angeles' magic number to clinch the AL West is also 4 but their number to clinch a playoff berth is 2. They can be the first team in the majors to secure October baseball if they defeat Seattle at home tomorrow.

Check that, Baltimore's magic number is now 3 as they put the Yanks out of their misery.

The other magic numbers are: Detroit at 13, St. Louis at 10 and the LA Dodgers at 11. We know the Yankees and Red Sox have made the postseason in the same year on many occasions, but wouldn't this season be the first time that both the Dodgers and Giants get in under the current divisional setup?

Looks like Oakland may play well enough to avoid a postseason collapse and secure one of the wild card spots. Kansas City on the other hand...

KC cannot hit. Zero power. You can't go very far without at least one major power threat. Line drives only go so far.

This was inevitable, but the Yankees are out of the division race with their loss tonight to the Rays. Worst-case scenario now is a one-game playoff for the AL East between the Orioles and the Blue Jays.

And yet they comeback to win the game.

Bloop hits and errors with a couple of line drives. Also used pinch runners. You can't rely on that every game.

Looks pretty bleak for the Blue Jays as well. They don't seem to be hitting the ball very well as of late. They can still do it, but it's gonna be all uphill.

Baltimore has been playing exceedingly well given all their injuries and now Chris Davis who has been suspended recently. I think Buck Showalter will possibly be Manager of the Year.

The champagne is being chilled in the Nationals' locker room. A win against Atlanta tonight gives them the NL East.

Welp, I think the Mariners season is over... The sticks have gone silent and the pitching is gassed.  Oh well, at least they'll finish over 500, and that's a success, especially after all the years of misery after the majestic season of 2001 that ended way too early.
