THE BAD NEWS:

Pocket Change: That setup was not made to be won......Although, it was just very unfortunate for Miranda.

Side By Side: Since when did Belize became so damn cheap?! Tough break for Matthew.

Grand Game: Good-for-nothing bread mix.........

Secret X: Good-for-nothing bread maker. Quite a pattern here (Mostly, a coincidence)................I think it's pretty safe to say that making bread is pretty expensive. At least Angela got a G-bar and won her SC.

THE GOOD NEWS:

ME: Good job by Jamie picking the Jimmy Choo shoes!

Card Game: The quickest and easiest setup so far from the newly revamped game, thanks solely to the Yaris............Thanks to Ella, she averted a car game washout!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

2/6 wins (despite two wipeouts today), but considering the skunked show from Tuesday and the DOB from yesterday, this was a fairly decent reprieve..........But better than the last two shows. Also, what are the odds of two contestants who wiped out on their games both advancing to the Showcases?

That's actually pretty cheap for a good bread maker. I like to bake, and most decent bread makers I see are at least $150. I got a really good one in good condition at a yard sale for $5. That was a great bargain!

I always get nervous when the contestant picks the $1,000 range card in Card Game, since, of course, it's such a small range and they cannot go over. But good for her at stopping where she did!
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

That was as good as a playing in Card Game I've seen in quite some time. She went with her gut , picked few cards , and won even after picking the $1000 card range.

I like to bake as well, and bread is one thing I hadn't tried yet so I'm not too sure about getting the right maker. But you got one at a yard sale for $5?! Wow.........

I breathed a big sigh of relief after Card Game- I wasn't 100% sure that Ella needed to stop after just two cards. I thought after the way PC went today (I understandably had a bad feeling about how the first half of that game was going to go), we were going to have a Car Game Shutout this wk.

Not totally sure what happened in Grand & SX today.

Most Expensive: Easy Win. Also, it's the fifth time this game has been played in Season 43.
Grand Game: Yeah. We thought the bread mix was under $4.25, and this resulted in an unexpected wipeout.
Pocket Change: This is one of its most harsh playings.
Side by Side: Didn't expect the price of the trip to be that low. It's worth only $5,375!
Card Game: Easy Win, especially for a game for a car! Toyota Yarises are usually between $17 and $18 grand.
Secret X: I find this playing to be quite dumb. At least Angela spun a dollar!

Showcase 1: This is the cheesiest showcase I have ever seen, pun intended.
Showcase 2: This is the second cheapest showcase in Season 43. Glad Angela won her showcase with a $19,500 bid when the other contestant didn't overbid.

Overall, this episode was better than the previous 2 in terms of winning. I hope there's going to be more winners in the next episode!

Grand Game was evil.  Seriously, bread mix for $4.99 and shampoo for $1.19?  I contend that those two prices were swapped.

Card Game was amazing.  When was the last time that somebody won with only a $1,000 range?

My showcase bids:
Cheese--$35,707
Norway--$20,707
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Ooh, but it wasn't just any ol' bread mix, no! It was whole wheat bread mix! And seeing that price just ensures even more that I stay far, far away from whole wheat.  I'll use the cheaper, tastier stuff, thank you.

An $86 bread maker, on the other hand, is much more up my alley. Just have to wonder how good it is at that price. Might seriously have to look up on that one.

Just 2 picks for a win in the card game?  If she'd picked the $5000 card, she wouldn't have needed to draw anything.  What fun is a game you don't have to play?

Hell, even with the $3000 card, you could win by doing Absolutely Nothing.

Which perhaps shows the major problem with Card Game these days. Either the starting bid is too high (I never agreed with the boost to $15,000 in Season 36 to begin with), or the game needs to be played for $20K+ cars exclusively. I realize that they're trying to speed up the game for time purposes, but when the price of the car is so low that you hardly have to do anything, it kinda defeats the purpose of the Card Game.

Most Expensive: Tricky setup and nice win. That Samsung TV was a nice prize although the shoes and the kayak aren't my favorite prizes. The smartphone was a nice contestants row prize.

Grand Game: Setup forced loss. The difficulty of the bread mix aside, I would have lost this game no matter how I played it because that cheap shampoo would have fooled me. Wipeouts are always a bummer.

Pocket Change: A bad segment all around. Tough setup, struggle with the pricing portion, and no luck with the cards either. It's too bad the Jeep Compass wasn't won.

Side by Side: Setup forced loss. Most contestants will probably pick the higher choice for an international trip and we expect Belize to be expensive anyway.

Card Game: Segment of the day. Today's contestant played the game very well and it was great to see the Toyota Yaris won. Plus this was actually setup to be won. About the only reasonable setup of the day. I too would have won. My strategy would have been to stop once I hit or exceeded $17,000 so I would have won today. I was thinking that the Toyota Yaris would be between $17000 and $18000 so I felt a win coming when today's contestant stopped.

Secret X: Wipeouts never are a good way to end a show. Those were some nice/useful prizes as well, especially the gas for a year.

Showcases: The Volkswagen Jetta showcase was the better showcase and it's unfortunate that it wasn't won.

Lineup: Very very good: Grand Game, Pocket Change, Side by Side, and Card Game are all favorites. Most Expensive is an enjoyable game and a nice lead off hitter. The only thing stopping this lineup from earning a great rating is that luck based games and games with letdown potential both make poor closers and Secret X is both of those. I don't like Secret X but this lineup would have gotten a great rating from me by flip flopping the slotting and playing Secret X fourth and Side by Side sixth since Side by Side is a fun closer. Overall a strong lineup.

Overall: A strong lineup and and a great Card Game segment mean this wasn't our worst 2 for 6 show. But some difficult setups and two wipeouts mean it wasn't our best 2 for 6 show either. Just pretty much an average show.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

From my bargain hunting days, I knew that V05 is cheap, but I would have probably wipedout thinking that it was some kind of expensive salad dressing. No idea bread mix was that expensive.

Most Expensive: I got fooled by those shoes.   I picked the TV.   Jaime didn't however.

Grand Game: Mike, that was a rotten setup.  ROTTEN!!!  I too picked the bread mix along with Diana.  Whoa!!!  I thought the salad dressing was $4.99 since it was organic.

Pocket Change: I cringed at some of Miranda's guesses on the second and third numbers.  On the other hand that price wasn't easy.

Side By Side: Another ROTTEN setup, thanks Mike!!!  Poor Matthew.  I thought alike like he did.  Okay I think they might have used the Belize trip from a very cheap vacation.com source.

Card Game: I thought Ella played well despite a $1,000 margin.

Secret X: No comment.  Tough SPs.
