And it was Cole Hamels who notched the no-no.

In what may Cole's final start as a Phillie. And what a catch by Herrera to end it.

Vintage Yankees. They come back from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Twins 8-5. A-Rod with three home runs.

Another major domino. The Blue Jays have traded for Troy tulowitzki. As of now, the Blue Jays trail the Twins by 3 games for the 2nd A.L. Wild Card so this is move designed to give them a shot at passing Minnesota.

Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Just what Atlanta needed to hear: San Diego closer Craig Kimbrel (who was with Atlanta prior) may be headed to Washington just before the trade deadline.

The Mets have actually now said that trade will not happen.

A trade that did happen, however, is the Phillies sending Cole Hamels to the Rangers for minor-league prospects.

Somehow I figured it wouldn't happen. I still don't want that punk on the Mets.

This is why you don't automatically jump to conclusions mid-game. Wasted tears.

Glad to see he loves the Mets so much though.

Unfortunately, that's the journalistic world we live in today. It's become a race to be first instead of getting the story right. I always go back to Joe Paterno on this when it was reported Saturday night he had passed, when in fact he hadn't. Jay Paterno even had to take to Twitter to say his father was still alive. Social media can be great but this is also one of the downsides of it.

Further evidence that Atlanta is acquiescing the season, starter Alex Wood and relievers Jim Johnson and Luis Avilan may be headed to the Dodgers. Atlanta would get infield prospect Hector Olivera, LHP Paco Rodriguez and minor-league RHP Zachary Bird plus a compensatory pick from the Marlins. As a starter, Wood hasn't been bad (3.54 ERA, near 3-1 K-to-BB ratio); he just never has had decent run support. The deal is still being hammered out.

And it turns out Gomez is in fact leaving Milwaukee...for Houston. This should be an interesting AL West race.
