(looks at list of what's in the set) ...Wow. I'm honestly surprised that Uncle Bill gets some loving - mind you, less than one-sixth of the set, but at least it's better than nothing!

'Unfortunately, I can only think of one logical explanation for #0011D not being on the DVD -- and that's that the fur ban is still in effect.'

BOO!

Anyway, my brother's leaving for England (we hope) in April and I asked him to buy me this and All-Star Family Feud before he goes - and he said he would.

When I first read that three 001xD episodes were included and (before the listing) that Boo-Boo wasn't involved, I thought "that's not possible unless..." and I instantly thought of #0013D...

But since the fur ban is still in effect and some old guy who really shouldn't be upset he offered furs in the past we get the three episodes GSN reran in the 90's (Episodes 2, 3-R, and 5).

So, yeah. Maybe they'll stop letting the old man be a glory hog (see the ego inflation in Seasons 33-35) and give the other hosts some much-needed loving in Volume 2 (I very much hope)...But as long as he's alive I very much doubt that.

Anyway, here's to the 'no-hopers' - who don't have a hope as long as (Billy? Borat?) is still kicking Chuck Norris' butt.

WHY is Bob's first episode not on there?

I think it may be out of respect to Bob not to have it on there. Also, it could be b/c they have to have Bob's permission to release certain episodes right? Doesn't he have to sign a release or something?

I can't wait to see how many retired games will be included.  For sure, we'll see "Bullseye I."  I hope that infamous two-player pricing game is included!!!  If not, that's okay.

It will be a treat to see the four episodes with Bill.  I have only seen one episode when "Price" had its run on GSN.  One of the item up for bids was...a house!!!

Four.  John already confirmed this a while ago.

I don't mind having the 'fur-less' episodes on DVD.  I wonder why the first permanent hour-long show is on the set when in fact, one of the prizes was a leather pantsuit made by Zinman Furs.  Wouldn't that be classified as fur, they kill animals to make leather and furs.  How did that get by Bob?

I have this question for one of the last 5 Barker episodes. On the final episode orginally aired, they aired a cilp with Bob's at the afterparty (which aired before the Daytime Emmy Awards aired) will that be included on the DVD?

-When future volumes are to be released, will archival news reports of TPIR will be added on the "extas" section?

-I wouldn't mind if episodes with no fur is on the DVD, I was looking forward to view the Premiere episode in good quality, now changes have been made with the premiere week, they should have mentionned that sooner.

-I also like to image for the next volume would be releasing the remaining episodes from 1972 (episodes WITHOUT the fur coat & pet offers) because its enough to add on the DVD set.

That's all for now.

Is this from the Captain Klutz Showcase?  That's the only time I recall the leather pantsuit was offered (and it would be common knowledge).  However, I thought that the Captain Klutz Showcase was on the first trial-hour long episode.  So was I mistaken about when that Showcase aired?  Or is it not the Captain Klutz Showcase you were referring to?

Both, the leather pantsuit and the Captain Klutz showcase were featured on the first permanent hour long.

For some reason, I thought that the showcase & leather pantsuit were on the first trial-hour long episode.

By the way, what does "Imad" mean?

Why?

Why should they have mentioned the omission of Bob's first episode sooner?

  • Its presence, or lack of it, could be factor in when he buys the DVD, or even if, he buys it at all.  Maybe it's the one episode bro wanted to see the most, but since it won't be there, he won't rush to buy it.  And if he decides to hold off buying it until a later date, who knows if it just falls off his radar and doesn't buy it (okay, as a Golden Road person, that's probably not going to happen  :embarassed: ), or if personal circumstances prevent him from buying it?
  • Anticipation.  I'm guessing bro, and a lot of people, presumed (or were, at minimum, hoping big time) that as the very first episode of the Barker era, its inclusion was a fait accompli.  I know I did.
  • Just walking into the store with as much knowledge about the product as possible.  "An informed consumer is our best customer" - Sy Sims.
"Now folks, I want to thank you very, very much for inviting me into your homes for the last 50 years.  I am deeply grateful.  And please remember - help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered.  Goodbye, everybody!"

First of all, it mentionned that the first 3 episodes of the Premiere Week will be added on the DVD, but it won't be because it was warned by this message that there is a fur episode on the 1st ep. & replaced it other 3 episodes of the Premiere Week with no fur. Like I said, I still don't have a problem with or care about the fur situation right now.

I forgot another thing, since the release will be in 3/25, I keep thinking too much(secretly) about how this release is going to be & I think to myself that I keep thinking too much about classic TPIR episodes on DVD. I just imagine that they release it a bit earlier so I don't have to think more & get over excited about it for the entire month now.

Welcome to the site.  Let me try to help you.

I have no clue how the Family Feud set looks, so I can't offer a comparison.  I will tell you that the quality is excellent.  In fact, here:

Taken from the DVD.

I'm also no math whiz, but with nineteen 30 minute episodes, and seven hour long shows, the full show times would end up being 990 minutes.  Subtract the commercials removed, and it's probably around 930 as advertised.  The box set lists "Approx. 930 minutes."
