Nothing's really changed....but as you always know, these rules are "living" in the sense that they may be altered at any time in the name of fairness to all.

But, no Schmolik Fire Sale and no more Sleeper Sixes.

WHETHER YOU HAVE EVER PLAYED OR NOT, TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE SECTIONS ON MONIES AND POINTS AS THERE HAVE BEEN CHANGES MADE TO THESE SECTIONS, AS WELL AS THE LTZ POT START DATE AND A NEW FEATURE CALLED "I STOPPED THE DOB!".

For those of you unfamiliar with the Rules of the FPG, here are the basics of how to play:

Section 1: Assembling Your Picks / Rules / Scoring

Assembling Your Picks

Each player will predict the games to be played every Friday a non-rerun show is aired, numbering them from 1 to 6, 1 being the first game played, 6 being the last game played. Each player will also predict whether that playing of the game will be (W)on or (L)ost. Each player will also assign a "confidence" rank from 6 to 1, 6 being the most likely of your picks to be played, 1 being the least confident of your picks. Each number should be used only once.

Once a FPG pick has been assembled, it should look something like this:

1. Clearance Sale (W)(4)
2. One Away (L)(6)
3. Grocery Game (L)(1)
4. Switch? (W)(3)
5. Dice Game (W)(5)
6. Flip-Flop (L)(2)

[Special Rule: If this lineup appears in order from 1 to 6 as it is shown here on any episode, then the winner of that week's FPG shall have their total TRIPLED without any bonus to any of the other players].

The game has two components of scoring: Main Game points (MG) and Confidence Points (CP).

4 MG Points are awarded for a correct pick in the correct slot with the correct result
2 MG Points are awarded for either a correct pick/correct result/incorrect slot OR a correct pick/correct slot/incorrect result
1 MG Points is awarded for a correct pick/incorrect slot/incorrect result

CPs are very simply the MG points awarded for that slot multiplied by your confidence rank. So for example, using the picks above, let's say the following happened: Plinko was played 2nd and was won [2 MG/12 CP] Race Game was played 4th and was won [4 MG/12 CP] Now or Then was played 6th and was won [1 MG/1 CP] The total for this FPG pick would be 7 MG and 25 CP. Good enough to win? Maybe...maybe not.

Special WIN rules: A win for Plinko is one where $10,000 or more was won. A win for Pass The Buck is one where a Car was won, money or not. A win for any other cash game is one where the top prize is won. (In the event a "win" is not defined here, the Joe_Capitano Recap thread will be the determinator, In other words, if it declared a WIN there, then it shall be so).

Your pick must be sent via e-mail to fpg@golden-road.net to FPGWillyT NO LATER THAN 800AM EDT/EST FRIDAY MORNING. Picks may also be submitted to my PM box here on the site if e-mailing them is not a viable option for you. Picks received after that time will not be considered for entry.

Periodically, (usually 700pm EST and 100am EST Friday), I will post a list of "PICKS SUBMITTED" to the boards. If you have sent your entry in by that time, you can check that list for confirmation that your picks were received. Be advised that the longer you wait to submit, the more of a chance you take in the pick getting lost/not received. (Hint: I will take picks up to 8:10am to allow for what I will call "Internet time", but I highly suggest you not wait until 809am to send them!).

The winner of the game is the contestant who has the most MG points. If MG points are tied, then we go to the CPs to break that tie. In the event that there is still a tie for 1st Place, we will revert back to two of the tiebreaker rules that the original runner of this game (The poster formally known as "Statkeeper") used. They will be used in the following order: TB1: Correct Game Predictions (CGP)--1 CGP for every correct game prediction. TB2: Correct Half Predictions (CHP)--1 CHP for each game played in its predicted half. If this does not break the tie, then co-champions will be declared for that week. For all other positions, a tie is a tie is a tie.

Any errors in your FPG picks are handled as follows: If the same CP rank was assigned to two Pricing Games, then the rank of BOTH games shall be re-assigned to a 1 automatically. Also, if a Game Result (W-L) was omitted, then it shall be assumed that your prediction for that game was a "Win" and will automatically be scored as such. Any other errors that occur that are not listed here will be handled on a case by case basis.

ONCE A SET OF PICKS IS SUBMITTED, IT CANNOT BE CHANGED OR REVISED EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING THREE REASONS:

a. To correct W/L Predictions that were OMITTED from the pick submission.
b. To correct CP Ranks that were OMITTED from the pick submission.
c. To correct Play Along selections that were OMITTED from the pick submission.

NO CHANGES TO GAME SELECTIONS OR SLOTTING CAN EVER BE MADE WHATSOEVER. THERFORE, BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL AND SURE ABOUT THE GAMES YOU ARE SELECTING.

Every effort will be made to contact the submitter prior to the closing of entries, but ultimately it is your responsibility to make sure your submitted pick is correct.

Preemptions

The FPG WILL BE PLAYED on Friday if only one episode during the week is preempted/canceled. If two or more are canceled, then the FPG shall by default be canceled.

In the event a Friday episode is preempted/canceled on the East Coast by CBS for any reason, and the full episode cannot be reconstructed from information using information available from both East and West coasts, then the FPG shall be deemed canceled.

If an FPG is canceled, then any picks sent in for that FPG are deemed void and will have to be re-submitted should the episode re-air and an FPG is played for that episode.

SPOILERS

In Studio/Attendance Spoilers

So you wanna go to L.A. huh? Think you've got the stuff to pull a CGJ huh? Maybe.....but here's what is going to happen with respects to your FPG eligibility.

1. Should you be in studio for a taping of an episode that will air on a Friday, you are OUT without question for that FPG. Should you receive information about a Friday episode that taped near or around that taping, I request that you disqualify yourself from participation (see below for special considerations).

2. You may participate in ANY AND ALL OTHER sanctioned FPG's including an FPG held for a day where you know the games played for the next full broadcast week, with the following caveat:

You may not share or post this information anywhere on the net for only a few people to see. You are free to use this information to your own advantage, but again, cannot share THIS TYPE OF SPOILER with anyone unless you are willing to share it with everyone, and we all know how spoilers of that nature are taken in there here parts.

If you have attended a taping scheduled to air on a Friday, remembering that you must voluntarily bow out, you will receive $100,000 and 65 FPG points, IF AND ONLY IF you submit a "sealed" e-mail/p-mail to Marc with the Subject: "SPOILED FRIDAY---OPEN ONLY AFTER" with the full lineup that will occur. Should it match up, you get the automatic bonus.

You cannot volunteer to bow out for the week prior, assuming you have no specific spoiled information.

Generic Internet Spoilers

Any information found to be posted on the Internet that contains spoiler information for an FPG is FAIR GAME for all players and will not constitute disqualification, so long as the spoiled information was available to all players freely. A spoiler OF THIS TYPE may be shared with other people as you see fit.

Example: My brother has a website for my family to view his children on. He lives in L.A. and attends tapings 4 times a year. He posts spoiler information on a page found on that website for only a few special people to see. INFO NOT USABLE.

Example: The Manitoba Beaver Daily Newspaper posts a story about a local teen who traveled to L.A. and scored three cars on TPiR in Triple Play. You share this information with another FPG player, but no one else. FAIR GAME AND USABLE.

The only exception to this rule is when an ENTIRE episode is spoiled, in which case the FPG for that scheduled Friday shall be CANCELLED and any monies that were to be awarded that week shall be carried over according to the following guidelines:

a. If the total monies is less that $400,000, then the ENTIRE AMOUNT shall be added to the total for the next FPG.
b. If the total monies is equal to or greater than $400,000, then the amount shall be split 50/50 and added to the following TWO FPGs.

Section II: Awarding of Monies/Points

Monies

Monies are awarded PGA style on a % basis. The pool for the week is the total from each day, with Friday's total automatically being doubled.

A DSW or a PERFECT SHOW will double that day's total. So if both should occur on the same episode, this means that day's total would be 4x. On a Friday, that would mean the total would be multiplied by 8X!!!! Please read the above Special Win Rules for more information.

The total used for each day will be obtained by looking at the Joe_Capitano threads found on this very board. If no Joe_Capitano update is available, then the total found on Zelmar's site will be used. 1st Place 100%, 2nd Place 95%, 3rd 90%, 4th 85%, 5th 80%, 6th 75%, 7th 70%, 8th 60%, 9th 55% 10th 50%, 11th 40%, 12th 30%, 13th 20%, 14th 15%, 15th 10%, 16th-99th 5%*. If a tie were to occur for say 4th and 5th, then those percentages are combined and then split equally between both participants. All players are guaranteed $20,000 just for playing.

The Game Moderator reserves the right to alter or modify the monies awarded based upon spoilers, people being ineligible, or for whatever reason he sees fit in the fairness of the game.

This year there can be up to FOUR!!! Million-Dollar Added weeks this season. Which episodes they will be shall be determined by Marc Green. He will alert me to "light the board up" only after my picks have been submitted. There may be four, there may be only one. The choice shall be his and his alone! (BTW…he chose to exalt his Executive privilege to the fullest last season, so I'm pretty sure you can count on the same this season!). I do have some Veto power though, and thereby make three guarantees about the Million Dollar Added Weeks:

1. They will NEVER OCCUR on a "Plinko Friday".
2. They will NEVER COME back-to-back.
3. They will NEVER OCCUR on a Play Along Friday.

Play Along FPGs-First Friday of Every Month!

The first Friday FPG of each calendar month shall be declared a "Play Along" FPG. What this means is that you will select two contestants to Play Along with during the show. Whatever that contestant wins will be added to your Money total for that day. You mark those two slots with a (*) at the end of those picks.

Also, you can choose to go "ALL IN" (Texas Hold-Em style) with your selections. Should you score 4 MG points or higher, then your "Play Along" Dollars will be doubled. BUT, should you score 3 MG or less, then you receive NO PLAY ALONG DOLLARS for that day.

The "LAST TO ZERO" Pool Bonus.

This pool will begin in the 4th Week of the FPG Season and will start out at $250,000. The premise is really quite simple. The last person to score a 0 MG score wins the pot.

Everyone who submits an entry for Week 3 is automatically entered into the pot. Every week you score at least 1 MG, you remain in the pot. The pot is played to its very end until one person is left standing never having scored a ZERO. In the event there are numerous people left in the pot and all remaining players score 0 MG in that week, then the pot is split equally amongst all players who were in the pot for that week.

Each week the pot is not won, 10% of that week's FPG total is added to NEXT WEEK'S LTZ Pot. Once the pot is won, we start it all over again at $250K.

Also, as of the 4th Week of the LTZ Pot, the minimum score shall be increased by 1 MG Point each week until there is a winner(s).

**IMPORTANT NOTE: Once this pot starts in Week 3, you must submit an entry each and every week to remain in the pot. SHOULD A WEEK GO BY WHERE YOU FORGET TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY, THEN THAT IS COUNTED AS YOUR HAVING SCORED A ZERO FOR THAT WEEK. YOU ARE ALSO DECLARED INELIGIBLE FOR ANY POT SPLITS THAT MIGHT OCCUR THAT WEEK SHOULD ALL REMAINING PLAYERS IN THE POT GO OUT THAT WEEK.***

Points

Think the money distribution is unfair? Think someone can win two MDA's and run away with the money title? Well that's why last year we added the "Points" system!

Points will be awarded NASCAR style. 1st place will be awarded 125 points, 2nd 119, 3rd 113, 4th 107. From 5th-10th the points decrease by 7 from the previous level. From 11th-15th the points decrease by 8 from the previous level, and then 16th and higher receive an automatic 15 points. A player can receive the posted bonus points for each one of the following events:

- One (or more) perfect 4 MG picks (up to ONE per player) nets you FIVE Bonus Points
- A MG score of 6 or higher nets you FIVE Bonus Points.
- A MG score of 11 or higher nets you an additional TEN Bonus Points, for a total of TEN!!
- Taking the lead (both MG/CP) from PG1 and never giving it up earns you TWENTY-FIVE Bonus Points. You must have a minimum of 11 MG POINTS to qualify for this special bonus this year.

The last event requires a little more explanation. If two people after PG1 have 2 MG/4 CP, BOTH remain eligible for the last 10 point bonus. If one player has 2 MG/6 CP, and one has 2 MG/2 CP, then only the first player is eligible. Got it?

Unlike dollars, points will not be added and divided between tied entries. An example of this would be as follows: If three people are tied for 2nd place, all three receive the points for 2nd. The next person would receive points for 5th.

Also, should a player receive 0 MG points, then that player can receive a maximum of only 65 points, but can be awarded LESS should the rankings determine it to be so.

THE $1,000,000 SUPER SECRET BONUS!!!

It’s back, and it’s much tougher to hit this year. So tough, that even I am eligible for receipt of the $1,000,000 should I choose to go for it. And no, it is NOT the same as last year.

CAN'T STOP THE DOB!!!

The Dobber automatically starts every FPG with 5% + 15 MG points each week. From there on, he can receive the following BONUSES.

1. For every person that scores 0 MG, The Dobber receives $20K and 10 FPG Points.
2. For every game played on the show that ends up showing as a KEY game, The Dobber receives $50K and 25 FPG Points. A KEY game is one where less than 6 people selected it in their FPG list of picks. This number may be adjusted should the number of FPG Participants increases this year to more than 40, on average.
3. If The Dobber plays a game that NO ONE HAS SELECTED, it is an automatic WIN and shall receive whatever monies and points the 1st Place finisher receives. The only exceptions will be a game played earlier in the week, or a PG premiere.
4. Should more than 6 people score 0 MG (the "old" rule stated 50% +1), then Roger automatically receives 1st Place Monies/Points for that week equal to whatever the actual 1st Place person receives.

Here's the big one!

5. Should the average MG Score of all players be less than FOUR, The Dobber receives a $100K bonus added to whatever monies he receives above. This is in addition to any AUTOMATIC WIN monies he might receive.

Special note: If the Dobber is credited with a WIN, he does not receive monies/points under rules #1/2, but CAN receive the 100K bonus.

Unless…….

I STOPPED THE DOB!!!

An "I STOPPED THE DOB!" Bonus shall be awarded if three or less people select a pricing game that the Dobber plays on a Friday!

If three people picked it, each player who picked that PG receives $100K bonus monies.
If two people picked it, each player receives $200K bonus monies.

If you are the only person to pick a pricing game that week and the Dob plays it, then YOU get all of the Dob’s monies and points for that week IN ADDITION to any monies or points you received through your own attempt/ENTRY and THE DOB GETS NOTHING!!!

BUT, you cannot have used a Sleeper Six pick (see Rules below) that week AT ALL, whether it counted or not.

***ONLY THE TOP ISTD SCORER, INCLUDING THE DOB HIMSELF, IS ELIGIBLE FOR POINTS/MONIES BONUSES*** The "top scorer" in this case is the person(s) who picked this game the least of all submitters/players.

The perfect example for this is last week's FPG

Three people took Range: score this 3
One person took Poker: score this 1
NO ONE TOOK 2 FOR 1: score this ZERO.

Because no one took 241, THE DOB AUTO WINS and there are no additional bonuses.

IN THE EVENT OF A TIE for the "Top" scorer, then ALL PEOPLE ELIGIBLE WILL RECEIVE THE BONUSES to which they are entitled according the payout table in the Rules for 2005-06.

Example:

Three people take Shell Game
Three people take Hi-Lo

ALL SIX RECEIVE ISTD MONIES. IF ONE PERSON IS ELIGIBLE FOR BOTH, HE DOES INDEED RECEIVE BOTH BONUSES.

ALSO!! MOST IMPORTANT!!! REMEMBER THAT A SLEEPER SIX IS INELIGIBLE FOR RECEIVING BONUSES PER THIS RULE.

BUT IT WILL STOP THE DOB FROM AN AUTO WIN IF IT INCLUDES A GAME SELECTION THAT BRINGS THE FREQ COUNT TO "1" FOR THAT GAME. IT WILL ALSO ALLOW FOR OTHER ISTD-QUALIFYING SCORES TO COME INTO PLAY AND BE AWARDED MONIES ACCORDINGLY.

Example:

Three people pick Game A
No one picks Game B in their main Six
DOB wins right? WRONG
Person Q picks that game in their sleeper six and their sleeper six plays because it scored more than their Main Six. BUYT, that Sleeper Six pick doesn't win an ISTD Bonus, BUT the three people who picked Game A DO RECEIVE ISTD MONIES.

I do look forward to an exciting year with the FPG and hope that everyone stays with it throughout!
