Drew could've handled the "Windsor  moment" better than he did. Rather than saying "Windsor" repeatedly, why not say, "Wait, we have the wrong contestant on stage!...(and then go from there--or something similar)..." Take charge, explain what's going on, and do so by using more than one word. Saying "Windsor" umpteen times isn't the best way to handle that.

I would have humorously pointed out Anna's bid, and Windsor's bid, and asked if she was named Windsor. Would have been funny, less annoying, and taken the same amount of time.

I would've lost Balance Game.  I thought the golf cart alone was over $10,000.

Wow, I can't believe 5 was the fourth number in the price of the car in Pocket Change.  That totally came out of nowhere.  He got it right on his second guess, but the game still resulted in a painful loss.

The Buzz Aldrin showcase was awesome.  This ranks up there as one of the best we've seen in the Drew Carey era, if not one of the best of all time.  It was also great to see Diana win that showcase so that she could meet and kiss Buzz, and even let Buzz sit in her new car.

My showcase bids:
Room/waverunner--$28,107
Car--$38,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

I don’t know why everyone was complaining about Drew repeating Windsor’s name over and over. Neither she nor Anna were paying much attention. Let the man do his job!

Grand Game still doesn't do much for me being first. John can add another first game loss to his spreadsheet.

I still love that contestant shot in Balance Game.

Pocket Change was just rough.

I want the second showcase. That was just cool.

Did some of you even watch the show???

He wasn't saying Windsor's name just because he thought it was funny.  Even if he had said something besides Windsor's name it's not like Anna would have heard it anyway.  And if he had let Anna come up on stage it just would've been edited and re-shot and certainly don't want that.

He handled it correctly and the contestants corrected themselves, no edit.  It made for a funny little segment.

By the way, the Buzz Aldrin showcase is probably my dream showcase.  Nothing could ever outdo the experience of witnessing a LIVE shuttle launch.  To me, it's one of the truest examples of American ingenuity and patriotism.  One of the best showcases I've seen in a long time.

See, if that had been me up for the golf cart, first thing I would have told Drew was "I hope I spin a dollar on the Wheel, because I'm gonna need some extra money to put a good paintjob on that golf cart... preferably #5, or #29".

Well, this certainly was a bummer of an episode.  Drew didn't host very well, and the Showcase was...well...bad.

The proper way to handle the wrong contestant coming out of Contestants' Row is not to do nothing but stand there and shout the actual winner's name 13 times.  Really, doing just about anything else would have been better.

Drew telegraphed the reveal in Grand Game again today.  He's been better about that this year, but it shouldn't be happening at all.

Drew went through Balance Game like he wanted to be anywhere in the world except Studio 33.

Did anyone think Drew showing off his temporary tattoo during Pocket ¢hange was a little bizarre?

The Showcase, unfortunately, was awful.  I'm sure it was exciting to have Buzz Aldrin in the studio, but to be frank, he came off as a doddering old man who's never done public speaking before in his life.  That's not the way I want to remember him.  I was extremely embarrassed for him, and I'm amazed that so many people in this thread thought his showcase was so good.

This lineup bothered me.  Thursday's show has already aired, and it also has Balance Game and Pocket ¢hange in it.  I really hope they aren't planning these things around the shuffled schedule...or really, I hope they aren't doing that at the expense of the actual episode order.  I'm certainly interested now to see what will be on 4861K.

But what else could he really do?  Anna ran up on stage and Windsor was standing there dazed in Contestants' Row.  Short of waving a banner, I don't know what else he could have done.

Let's pretend for a moment that Bob never retired.  This is probably about how the end of the first Item up for Bids would have gone:

"Six-oh-one.  The actual retail price issss $1,310, and Windsor is our winner...no, no!  It's Windsor!  Anna, she bid higher than you!  She bid higher than you!  Get back down there!  Noooooooow here comes Windsor!"

That's what else could have been done.  And I'm sorry, but any of you who are saying that Drew handled it "well" or "correctly" are wrong.

Well, if nothing else, Diana was obviously really excited about seeing Buzz Aldrin.  On the other hand, like Steve said, it felt like an embarrassment to the man.

Anna was quite enjoyably getting into the whole Cover Up presentation there, essentially modelling the numbers and board :).

Steve, I felt the same exact way about Mr. Aldrin's appearance, but couldn't think of a tactful way to express it.  You are exactly on point here, and it was awkward to watch.

I have to make an interesting observation here. In Balance game, I had to assume that the guy was going to lose the game, because I didn't think $9,090 was the right price for the his/her golf club sets & the ltd edition golf cart, but the guy won! $9,090 seems like it's an unusual price to me for something like that. I just wanted to point that out!

I was out of the room for the beginning of the Aldrin Showcase, and I went to the show site to see the clip.

Here's CBS's description:

"Buzz Aldrin guests in the second Showcase Showdown!"

To suggest that an opinion that differs from yours is "wrong" is more than a little ridiculous.

So is suggesting that there was no better way to handle the situation than shouting "Windsor!" 13 times.
