CSS Results for October 25
« on: October 25, 2006, 01:30:54 PM »
Have I mentioned how much I hate trips in showcases lately? Oh wait, I think I have. But let me reiterate:

I HATE TRIPS IN SHOWCASES!!![/u]

::ahem::

Today's showcases featured trips (really?) and two not-too-difficult prizes. The Fleetwood Pioneer trailer, which most of us know is an el cheapo, and a PT Cruiser, which was apparently paired with two very much more expnsive than I had reckoned trips. BUT this marks the first time in a while that I haven't gone over with this many trips.

Everyone who scored points did better than me. Congrats. Joe_Mello pulls out the win by a decent margin, and the money for the car. Gauchodirk was close-by and gets cash for the trailer, and thank goodness. Because who really wants that trailer anyway? :lol:

As I said to you in chat, Tom, I think it's time to rename painful overbids. Instead of being named after you, they need to be named after me. :-(

Maybe the preemption brought out the best in my bidding, but I'm more than happy to claim my first money of the season (and  it's been a really long time even going back to last season).  I wasn't going to let that cheapo Fleetwood trailer get me today.  I wish I had gone a little higher on the car, but I wasn't quite sure how much Thailand was going to be.  This second place finish makes up for my overbid yesterday.

Darn. I did say in chat (like we all do), my original bid was $19,000+. (It was $19,897). Ah well. With my horrible underbid on the car, it wouldn't have mattered much, anyway.  :-)

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later:  my first CSS overbid of the season.  Me and Tom even talked about that very same trailer last week over IM... but I still haven't convinced myself that a 23-foot trailer (even if it is a Fleetwood) can cost only $12,000.
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Tom, I think you missed a prize when you bid. :-P

Signs that your trip is expensive: They throw in a cooking class.

Had I not taken off $1000 on the trailer to counter adding $1000 to Monte Carlo (my default price for Eurasian trips is $6,000) I really would've won going away.  I'll take the solid win, anyway.

I entered a bid of $24,195 on #2. How could I have borked?
That's weird.

I thought I did well today, it's the 3rd CSS in a row that I competed in and I didn't go over.  So I semi-garfed SC2, but points are points - at least I scored

Seeing as you went over on SC1, it kind of doesn't matter.

But if it's any consolation, you didn't get about 88 points. :-D
