Today's show was entertaining. Manuela looked great from the handoff to the showcases. Amber looked confused when the guy didn't win "Coming or Going." Rachel looked as scared as I felt when she was grabbed by the hot tub.

Ten Chances was a terrible playing, as usual. Tracy looks better with the blur induced by the cbs.com streaming video than she does on the link above. This was a good use of my 38 minutes today.

This was the first day since premiere week I've waken up to watch... Porn stars, potheads and perplexing 90s TV shared names? Clearly I picked a good day to watch. :P
The $420 thing is, of course, highly irritating and it's upsetting to know someone "worthy" could've had her spot. (I'm sure she hid all signs of her highly original plan in line, though.) And although I wish Jeff and Drew would've just ignored it, mocking her to her face works for me as a second best.

Poor Stan. He took a look at Laurie and thought he had a gem after seeing her enthusiasm. Oops.

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY: Tracy
SHOW GRADE: 2

FRANK!!! :)
Told you.

That's what bugged me the most about that whole thing. It's very, very unfortunate.

After reading the review it seemed appropriate that Jane would be the top winner of the day.

And I wasn't going to saying anything about the restored car, because everyone already knows how I feel about those...but a Chevette?!  Are you freaking kidding?

They haven't restored an AMC Pacer yet.
I'm TheBigAK...and I APPROVE this post.

As I've said already, it wasn't a Chevette that was offered.  The car was described as simply "A 1957 Chevrolet."

Something about that show was just rubbing me the wrong way. I know the rest of the show went fine, but the 2 really obnoxious contestants kinda spoiled the show for me. Laurie was just a stupid college girl trying to show off on national television (and could she have at least lowered the pitch of her voice?), and Tracy, though a bit less exhuberant, was apparently there to promote some adult website.

I don't understand what some of you have against Steven Urkel. Ok, he had the same same as the guy from Family Matters. But he was truly happy to be there, wasn't acting like a Diet Coke and Mentos, and yes, didn't know the 0 rule in 10C, but you know what, in the last few years, very little people know that rule!

As for the rest, it was fine.
I too thought the Danger Price was the computer.
8 for the hot tub looked right, even to my Jane Plinko of a wife.
I give a big WIN to DiPirro for showing the closing door #3 after the chance at the car was gone, though it's sad we've gotten to a point where someone planned a shot for such a case.
Amber should make sure of the result before making a face when revealing a price. She just looked confused, and almost confused Drew as well.

What was wrong with her?  I mean, she wasn't the most memorable contestant ever, but few are.  She seemed like a good, if unspectacular contestant.

You mean you didn't pick up on one of her friends spanking her while she was coming on down (yes, spanking!)? Or her really short shorts (when the pockets are longer than the shorts, they are too short)? Her grabbing Drew's butt when she got on stage? Her asking her friend if she should put the last X in the middle square? Her deafening high-pitch scream that probably sent a few of my neighborhood dogs running away? All of that didn't bother you?

You know, now that I think of it, most of that make more sense now that we know she's a porn star!

I would doubt he had anything to do with Laurie getting picked.

The shorts + black knee high boots. When I saw her I thought, "Wow, she looks like a porn star." You have to ask, according to what criteria did the producers think, "Gee, she'd be a great contestant."?

$420... smh.

That said, it was a great show. In general, I've been loving this year's shows. Fun, creative, decent number of wins, some really interesting contestants.

...Really? I'm going to have to take a second look...
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Do any of you actually think the choices of Laurie and Tracy as contestants wasn't intentional?
I'll put this in here, but I didn't want it to overshadow the more interesting topic of specials. Earlier in the show Mike and Beth talked about Jenny McCarthy's appointment to The View and it leads to Mike talking about her appearance on Price. Mike says that he and the staff mulled over whether or not to have her on the show because of the controversy that follows her. They ultimately decided to have her because she's "a great advocate for what she believes in." Now, Mike didn't specify exactly what he meant by "what she believes in" and what "belief" of her's that he's addressing, but that could certainly be taken the wrong way.

I don't think even Mike wanted THAT much innuendo

Didn't notice the spanking, did notice the odd pockets on her shorts, noticed the butt grabbing, noticed the same Secret "X" play every other contestant does at least, and the scream didn't bother me.  Still, no, she didn't bother me.
