What a goofy lineup. Three one-prizers, no fee games...kinda boring.
There really could have been a lot more wins today. 1 Right Price was easy if you followed the "distance from Los Angeles" rule (although with one of the trips being Vegas, that wasn't too likely to happen), and Bonkers and Ten Chances are generally pretty simple if you get contestants who know what they're doing (which we didn't today).
Whoever was operating Balance Game pulled off a great fake-out. It
really looked like Jerry had lost.
Coming or Going was going to be won by anyone with a lick of sense.
3. Maybe, but it'd be an epic feat to make a fee-game-free lineup that rocked (April Fool's Day 2011 doesn't count).
November 7th, 2008...Lucky 7/Balance Game/Step Up/Ten Chances/Magic #/Double Prices...that's about as good as we can get these days.
Roger's last lineup!
There's no "time limit" on 10 Chances anymore. In fact, with the exception of Clock Game, Race Game, Switcheroo, and Bonkers, there is no time limit on anything. Now a days they can just edit everything.
Hell, why even bother with those? If Drew can order a stopdown to dig blocks back out of the Push Over box, what difference does
any rule make?
(And yes, he did this recently.)
(And actually, if the staff wanted, they
could buzz somebody in Ten Chances who was taking a ridiculously long time. It would just be terribly incongruous with the way they tape the show now.)
I'm interested to see if Steve can provide an explanation as to why this is.
I wish I could. All I know from looking at my records is that Temptation was scheduled as a small prize game in half-hour shows and a four-prize game as soon as the hour format came about.
