It's most certainly a possibility.

I'm interested to see if Steve can provide an explanation as to why this is.

Temptation was still using usually one prize with two digits in the price into the early 80s. An Xmas 1983 week playing has a under $100 blood pressure machine as one of the prizes.

10 Chances was disappointing, but no need for rage. X5 bids are fine, and he started to freak at the end.  Not even remotely a horrible play.
They can be close at the top, too.

Not to be rude, but I think you quoted the wrong person.

Um....zero rule? With that in mind, he had spelled D-O-O-M right from the beginning.

Yeah...but just one, which calls into play the point that I made earlier.

How the hell was 1 Right Price lost?

10 Chances... yeah, Alexander definitely looked like a contestant who could [Australian flag] this game up royally.  And he proved me right.

Mmmm... Omaha Steaks.  I've ordered steaks from them many times before.  They're obviously pricier than the steaks at your local market, but they're well worth it.

Would anybody here actually have picked the 1 as the last number in Cover Up?

My showcase bids:
Towers--$22,507
:frbs: --$25,507
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

What a goofy lineup.  Three one-prizers, no fee games...kinda boring.

There really could have been a lot more wins today.  1 Right Price was easy if you followed the "distance from Los Angeles" rule (although with one of the trips being Vegas, that wasn't too likely to happen), and Bonkers and Ten Chances are generally pretty simple if you get contestants who know what they're doing (which we didn't today).

Whoever was operating Balance Game pulled off a great fake-out.  It really looked like Jerry had lost.

Coming or Going was going to be won by anyone with a lick of sense.

3. Maybe, but it'd be an epic feat to make a fee-game-free lineup that rocked (April Fool's Day 2011 doesn't count).

November 7th, 2008...Lucky 7/Balance Game/Step Up/Ten Chances/Magic #/Double Prices...that's about as good as we can get these days.

Roger's last lineup!

There's no "time limit" on 10 Chances anymore. In fact, with the exception of Clock Game, Race Game, Switcheroo, and Bonkers, there is no time limit on anything. Now a days they can just edit everything.

Hell, why even bother with those?  If Drew can order a stopdown to dig blocks back out of the Push Over box, what difference does any rule make?

(And yes, he did this recently.)

(And actually, if the staff wanted, they could buzz somebody in Ten Chances who was taking a ridiculously long time.  It would just be terribly incongruous with the way they tape the show now.)

I'm interested to see if Steve can provide an explanation as to why this is.

I wish I could.  All I know from looking at my records is that Temptation was scheduled as a small prize game in half-hour shows and a four-prize game as soon as the hour format came about.

Wait...what?

Isn't this supposed to be against the rules?

(If it's not, that's not a good thing...well, it's not a good thing regardless! Once those blocks are gone, they shouldn't be allowed to be put back...)

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

Since this is as close to the fifth anniversary of Joy's infamous playing as we can get, I want to point out that the staff was very close to buzzing her.  One of our members who was at that show's taping said he heard some murmuring backstage about whether or not Joy should be buzzed for taking too long.  It's a miracle that they let her take all the time she did.

I remember that. Loved Bob's reaction after she won.

Apparently the player had an answer in mind from the start and accidentally pushed too far.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Apparently the player had an answer in mind from the start and accidentally pushed too far.

So?  The rules state pretty clearly that once the blocks go off the table, they're out of play.  In fact, the reason that rule exists, much like not being able to restart the rangefinder, is so that they don't have to do a stopdown if a contestant tries to do something like that.

Which episode was that?

You'll have to ask Kev.  A friend of his saw it at a taping...he didn't tell me which show.

Ugh, when will players remember to consistently use the 0 rule in Ten Chances?
