Good Showcases but i think SC2 should have been over $60,000

All three prizes in the second SC have been on the show recently, right down to the Onstar on the Camaro. The Kitchen Island and Omaha Steaks were in Balance yesterday.

Probably the worst part of today was seeing Rolly lost on three rolls. We get by Mike's usual setup on the maple syrup and she still can't bring it home. That and Plinko even doing worse than last time killed the show.

A possible historic moment: Plinko and MOney Game played on the same show AND more money was given away in MOney Game($278) than PLinko($100).

Wayo pretty much caught the essence of what I was going to say - putting a show on for military families is a nice idea, but sometimes there's too much of a good thing. The setups in this reflected a normal show and frankly weren't very nice! They should have at least tried to make sure 4 chips in Plinko were won, or something. This felt too much like an everyday show that they were trying really hard to dress up. The Corvette being won in LER would have been a nice touch, but unfortunately she got unlucky there.

One thing I did enjoy was the showcases - that second car in SC2 sure came out of nowhere! However, it's rare I can say they were clearly the best part of the show. This was just a case of Price extending themselves a little too much, in my opinion. I appreciate the sentiment behind it, but the execution made it feel more like "well, so?", mostly because the military members weren't there and the setups/games weren't much different from the norm.

Timings:
Plinko (5.5)- 4:27
Money Game (4.5) - 4:10
Balance Game (4)- 3:56
Most Expensive (3.5) - 3:26
Pick A Number (3.5) - 2:52
Let 'em Roll (5.5)- 4:46
Total (26.5): 24:37

Well ... I commend the effort of putting such a show together on short notice.

According to air order, I think this was always supposed to be a salute episode. Its original air date would've been the Friday before Memorial Day. Obviously they expedited editing to air it immediately. Dunno who did it. It turned out alright regardless.

A possible historic moment: Plinko and MOney Game played on the same show AND more money was given away in MOney Game($278) than PLinko($100).

Plinko and Money Game were both played on June 10, 2002, and only $100 was won in Plinko on that day.

Why are there three games that offer money in some way in the same lineup?

I was talking about Pricing Games being sexed-up.

I never mentioned Showcases

What's the difference? They BOTH affect the budget, if that was your concern with them?

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

Wow... they aired it today! That's certainly a tape-to-air record.

Epic punking in the second Showcase! Just when we thought it was over... a Camaro out of nowhere!

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY: Elisabeth
SHOW GRADE: 2

Did not like the lineup today. Will Drew ever announce the dollar amount won in Money Game? It might as well be called "Game" from here on out.

SC2 was epic though.

He very rarely does. I didn't want to bring it up again today.

By the way, thanks for the reply clemsonfight.

Once again, only one Plinko chip is won from the SPs... but unlike last time, the contestant won only $100.  Anybody know the last time somebody won only $100 in Plinko?

We've seen a lot of come on down mishaps over the years:  falls, wardrobe malfunctions, restroom breaks... but Elisabeth may be the first ever contestant to announce that she bit her tongue.

My showcase bids:
:frbs: --$30,107
Cars--$55,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Kitch, I've got a little recap correction. Manuela modeled the golf equipment, while Gwen modeled the golf trip.
