She did. See my post above for my thoughts on the odd "teleporting" grocery items. :P

Totally missed that. I am the goodest reader.

Well, this was easily the most enjoyable playing of Pay the Rent ever, simply because Drew made it obvious that the cheapest item wasn't what went in the mailbox.  It pretty much guaranteed that a sensible guess would be made there, and once that happened, the game was able to be interesting.  I still think that the $100,000 prize is ludicrous (I greatly like the house number idea that someone proposed...it allows the $1,000 to make sense, and it allows the game to reasonably be played for $25,000), but if Drew does this on every playing, it's a good start on fixing it.

I do have to say, though, that the game was edited pretty damn badly.  When you've got the Beauties teleporting from the groceries to the house without anything in between, there's something wrong.

Double Prices really should have been won.  $9,006 screamed "fake."

Also, was PTR full of sloppy cuts, or did Rachel have a bag of duplicate items waiting? If it's the latter, that's actually a clever way to save a little time. But then there's no reason for Amber to be bagging everything.

It would be so that the contestant knows what is left to pick from.

They still don't have to show that part on-camera.

This has been happening ever since they added the bags for the Beauties in the game (so maybe the first play of 2011?)
They can be close at the top, too.

Since no one's posted it here, this was the correct combination.

Foot cream: $8.27
Milk (99¢) and cashews ($6.79): $7.78
Cookies ($3.39) and pasta sauce ($2.99): $6.38
Hair color: $5.99

Is this the first time the third cheapest item was not the one that should go in the mailbox?

Actually, it's the tenth time.  Out of eleven playings.

So far, the right item to put in the mailbox has been the third-cheapest item once, the fourth-cheapest five times, and the fifth-cheapest five times.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought I'd seen every playing, but I certainly haven't seen it 11 times.

I guess this is the first time I've felt the game was worth paying attention to!

I know I didn't notice the bags for the first time until the "Pay the Tuition" playing from the college show. And that segment was so hacked to death that I just assumed they'd edited out the product hand-offs then as well.

Ten Chances used to be my favorite car PG, but now I'd actually like that game retired so they can play car games like Line 'Em Up more often.   :oldlol:

They're both in the same category...car games played once every two months.
