So close in Temptation today. $18695 was a "reasonable" choice. Drew did a pretty poor job of hosting it though. Yes Drew, you are supposed to press the buttons!

Also, I, for one, did not laugh at Drew getting tongue-tied during 1 Right Price and then trying to blow it off as a joke.

Pass The Buck! Yay! Only one pick though. Again.

Whoa. I was also surprised by the price of the first showcase.

Lani came to the show by herself and she was chosen to be a contestant. There is hope!

Temptation:  Maximum bummer!
Squeeze Play:  Nice job! :-)
Cliff Hangers:  Nice comeback! :-)
Pass The Buck:  Better than picking a "Lose Everything".
Showcase:  That first showcase was more than I thought too! 8-O

Not the best start to the week, IMHO.

FPGWillyT went to the show by himself and HE was chosen!  Not via a photo array, but picked nonetheless!

Temptation was a full-on Dob budget control play, executed to perfection.  Do this more often instead of those insane Deck setups.

Actually, the first three games were classic setups.  Loved it.
They can be close at the top, too.

Echoing 28, I loved the way the first four games were set up today. Almost felt like The Dob snuck in the studio or something. I don't like how PTB contestants are 0/6 on the groceries in their last 3 playings though. PTB and Stack should NOT be set up for grocery wipeouts - they make it unfair. Of course, that's probably the point.

Still, this was a fun show. Drew actually drew out Temptation a bit , he turned a flubup during One Right Price into a good joke, the setups were mostly fair and the showcases had some cool prizes in them for being non-car. While I don't have that much to say about it, I could live with shows like today as the average - I had fun all show (except for Buck).

Timings:
Temptation (6) - 7:29
Squeeze Play (3.5)- 2:55
Cliff Hangers (4.5)- 4:33
One Right Price (3.5) - 3:21
Freeze Frame (4) - 3:07
Pass The Buck (5.5) - 4:50
Total (27): 26:15

Temptation - I thought the price was 18690 and both me and the contestant were wrong so a bummer.
Squeeze Play - An Easy win.
Cliff Hangers - Another Easy Win.
1 right price - Shoulda picked the grill
Freeze Frame - Tough loss and setup
Pass the buck - I was surprised the car was behind #6 i woulda won both extra picks and still lossed. And the car wasn't won either by the contestant.
Not too bad for a show today.

-Oh hi Temptation. Oh bye Temptation. What a tough loss in that game.
-Squeeze Play was set up for a win. Nice that it was won.
-Cliff Hangers was set up for a 20-30-40 exacta?  8-O  Why did she think they'd put two prizes at the same price in this game? At least she won.
-One Right Price was pretty fair. Drew was cool to make light of his mistake. Too bad this game was lost.
-Freeze Frame was its usual self. At least he was in the ball park.
-Pass the Buck was just wrong. The pasta sauce has now become the new foil in GP games. Funny how it used to be the Udderly Smooth Cream, and we haven't seen that in weeks.

I didn't like that the showcases reached those prices with those prizes. That's just me though.

Oftentimes the prizes in Temptation are worth so much that the bailout is really attractive. But I don't blame Pamela for trying for the truck. That was a good looking price.

One Right Price was a really nice instance of a model getting to talk - although Gwen used Drew's mike instead of her own. I wonder if they were unmiked. Either way, I think the comedy worked better walking over to Drew. I don't like two-model shows, but at least they came up with an interesting way to stage One Right Price with two models.

I thought Drew hosted Temptation alright. Yeah, he forgot that he had to press the buttons on the display, but that's no big deal in my book. As far as the price, I also chose $18,695 and was wrong. That price looked SO right ... ouch!

The peeve I did have in Temptation was once again allowing a contestant to change her mind, although I would do this game a little differently. Once a contestant has made any changes, then he/she must indicate final answer (a la "Millionaire") before the answer is locked in and cannot be changed. Of course, our contestant nearly did try to change a number after she said she wanted to leave it alone (by trying to changing the second number from 8 to 5, no less -- lucky the audience did talk her out of it).

I certainly respect your opinion. His explanations were okay for me (though I would have just asked the contestant directly "Would you like to change any of the numbers or leave them alone?"), but I think his forgetting that he himself has to press the buttons to reveal the numbers was a egregious mistake. Hasn't the game itself been played for over 30 years, and hasn't Drew had the job for over 3??

Or you could do, if you dared, use doors 2 and 3 and have one model display each prize. This was done in 1980 on the Barker nighttime version and in 1992 on a daytime episode when played for two trips.

You're lucky. These are first shows this season Rachel has been off. Looks like she'll set a personal record for episodes worked again this season.

Some of us have to endure occasional droughts when our favorite model is in two or three episodes in a two week period.

I've been generally positive about Drew, but he's been pushing him more toward the negative camp over time. Certainly, it's possible to spin a mistake into an entertaining moment, but some of these mistakes seem like apathy. I feel like he needs to brush up on stuff to avoid things like the Temptation button mistake. The host of TPIR ought to review the games so he know stuff like (or how many seconds on the Race Game clock) like the back of his hand.
