Lucky Seven: Dismal start to the show when the 3rd digit is a 1.  C'mon, we're playing for charity too, you know!...

Push-Over: ...and then that was realized with the most ridiculously easy Push-over setup ever.

One Wrong Price: The computer was an easy choice for the LFaT, but all items were quite deceptive.  Luckily a little 'snooping' paid off.

Range Game: Temporarily back to the less-creamy facade, some dead-on advice by Snoop.  Color me impressed...

Check-Out: She went crazy with the Boboli, but when it was totaled to just over $20, I had a feeling she won.  $20 seems to be the ideal total these days.

Plinko: Great job at the SPs, and nice $10K. Very close to a $20K win.

In all seriousness, Snoop gave more...about the contestants than Drew did.
Not that I don't believe you, but could you give an example?

I haven't figured out exactly how I'd fix this...maybe introduce him at the top of the show, then let him model the one-bid or prizes in the games?
How does this sound?  When the winner of the One-Bid comes up on stage, the celebrity joins them when they walk towards Drew.  That way, when Drew starts hosting, the celebrity is also there and no introduction is needed.

A number of times, he was assuring contestants during their games that he wasn't going to steer them wrong.  It sounded very much like something Bob would have done, akin to his "we've never lost a contestant yet" comments when someone was hyperventilating.

I have to disagree.   While he was obviously well presented, I don't think his comments were any more Barker-like than Drew is on any given day.  Listen carefully to his comments after the Plinko $10k chip.   He said repeatedly "Holla at me!" as though his "advice" was sound.  I think the whole "I'm not going to steer you wrong" bit was just self promotion, which is what one might expect from a celebrity of his stature.  It's not like all the advice he gave was good, or well founded.   He obviously didn't know many of the prices, and he didn't know anything about the probability of dropping Plinko chips... he was guessing just like anyone else.   Lucky guessing, mind you... unless you lost L7 because of him.

The thing I don't like about this type of episode is that the celebrity influences the contestant.   People are already in deer-in-headlights mode, and having a celebrity there telling them what to do brings out lemming-mode in addition.

The episode was made to be all about Snoop and his charity... not about the contestants and their journeys.   Snoop was as good as a celebrity guest could be... and it's still a failure in my book.   He's had his share of fame... the contestants haven't... and they didn't even get to be the "Stars" in their own not-even-fifteen minutes of fame.
How to do it better:
Celebrity guest interaction should be limited to prize presentations.  They should stay with the prize and call out encouragement, but stay out of the game process.   I think the spin for cash is a much better idea.   I would much rather have seen the spin take place in both halves, and have two zeros added the first time, and three the second time.   This would have kept the game more fair for the contestant, and resulted in a max of $110,000 to the charity, and a minimum of $11,000.   This is about the range that they would have given away otherwise (total today would have been over 100k with a perfect game.

Let's all take a deep breath.
Wise words.

I have to agree that while it was a fun show with Snoop around, I don't like that he can help because the contestants almost feel obligated to agree with him because he's a celebrity and they're on TV. Granted, it worked out pretty well for the most part today, but if Jenny McCarthy starts giving bad advice and losing prizes, it's not going to look good at all.

Also, those ARP reveals in the Showcases might be the loudest Snoop has ever been in his life.

Check-Out: When Mike Richards said Snoop Dogg knew his groceries, he wasn't kidding for the most part! I'm not sure if a car was previously won in this PG until today.

Did Mike come out and say this on camera during the show?  Or did Snoop and/or Drew mention it?

That was a statement from a press release.

Well, this show actually...wasn't the trainwreck I was envisioning. Snoop actually did very well in the games, and really gave more enthusiasm today than Drew shows on any given day.

Lineup...meh. Plinko should've been second to balance out the acts.

For what it's worth, I hope she loses a bunch of pricing games.

Lucky Seven:  Evil.
Puch Over:  Easy.
One Wrong Price:  Nice job! :-)
Range Game:  Nicely played! :-)
Check-Out:  Awesome win!
Plinko:  I thought for sure Darlene was gonna break the record for most won on Plinko.  The last three chips really let the air out of my sails.  Still a nice haul though.

Good start to the week, IMHO.

Do you think they originally realized the week would be shifted around eventually?

Made sense to air Snoop Dogg's episode on Monday with kids off from school. Many kids were talking about the episode on twitter.

Still haven't seen the episode but I'm looking forward to watching it after reading the comments. I've only seen a small clip and it seemed as if Snoop was more interested in the game (check out) than Drew was.

I don't think it really matters if Uncle Snoop was high during taping.  The fact is that he was either an excellent TPIR player or a good luck charm for all of the contestants.  Or both.

Lucky $even was not gonna be won.

Push Over was probably the easiest that I have ever seen it set up.

I don't think Evil therealcu2010 Mike was banking on somebody winning One Wrong Price--an average contestant would think that the plasma TV's price looks more wrong than the computer's price--but Snoop and Dana weren't fooled by the cheap TV.

Check-Out was just amazing.  I thought for sure that Snoop and Alexis were way too high on their total after their $2.00 guess on the paper towels and $7.00 guess on the pizza crust.  I'm surprised that they were actually low on the paper towels.

It's too bad that L7 wasn't won so that we could drag out the "perfect show, purists notwithstanding" for the first time in ages.

The second showcase was on Snoop's favorite things.  I'm surprised that it didn't offer a pound of OG kush.

Speaking of which, I'm thankful that nobody bid $420.

My showcase bids:
Car--$34,107
:frbs: --$27,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

A rare reply from me.  Back in the earlier run of the Price Is Right, they used to have celebrities play for members of the studio audience, and viewers at home.  I wish they would bring that back.  Thank you.
