A Buring Question
« on: December 19, 2006, 12:36:48 PM »

Let's say that Dave Price, John O'Hurley, or Todd Newton is becoming the new host of TPiR. And they are getting ready for the 36th Season. The big Two-Part Question is. Would the host or the Production Staff are planning to make a huge set change and make it for the benefit of the host, basically a new theme song, new turntable, new doors, or new things. Something like that "Hopefully it will never happen". And the other part is. With the new host, should there be a new announcer and new beauties. They won't be consider any longer as Barker Beauties, what are they called. And for the announcing I don't want to see Rich Fields being taken off due to the priorties of the new host or something. I heard rumors that Dave Price wants Daniel Rosen to announce for him. Why is that, if Rich has more talent and more voice than that Rosen guy anyday. But if they do take Rich off  "It will never happen" for the benefit of the host. Who is the new Announcer. I don't mind if it's either Burton Richardson or Randy West. But In my own way. Rich is the announcer Bottom Line...

Let's discuss!

Dave Price strikes me as someone who didn't even know Rod Roddy was dead until he got to the studio two weeks ago.  I can't imagine he's too concerned with shafting Rich Fields.

I agree Alex, shafting Rich will never happen.  I'm just worried that a guy like Dave Price would kill the show in an instant.

But let's say (just for visualization purposes) that Rich is selected the new host and they had to hire a new announcer to back him up.  Which announcer would be a good match chemistry-wise to him?

Not unless...you know what I'm going to say.

Yeah right.  I can't imagine even Dave being crazy enough to want that.

You sound like you haven't heard his announcing before.  I can't find that old skool TPiR site since I lost my link.  Does anyone have it?   (There's a sample of his work)

Let's hope that they don't get into changing hosts every 6 months.  :-P

I'd like Art, Burton, or Randy myself.

Back to the original second part of that question, I think that they need to keep a lot of the "Barker" stuff around. Everything doesn't need to be changed as if to eliminate everything that Bob did for the show. They should keep a lot of the "Barker" stuff there as a memorial to him, you know?

Everything shouldn't be changed just because they show is taking a new turn.
