"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better." - Sydney J. Harris

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

Well, I guess this was coming eventually, but nevertheless it is a letdown given the non-car/cash were all very winnable. Why in particular are we mishearing higher/lower at critical points lately?

OA was extremely annoying because on Feb. 20, the $17,326 Fiat was used... that contesant went $17,328... and also changed the 3rd number on 4 right.

Secret X... what's left that they're willing to try? It might make for a lineup twist but the underlying intent is just no fun. That said, the SPs were very reasonable and of course it has to be on the bottom there, so at least nothing extra cruel.

And finally... waaaaaaaaaaay too much crap flying around. Someone tell Drew bring your son to work day does not include the on-air portions, never mind two damn OB people.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Most of the pricing games were setup for losses today. The only game that was winnable today was clock game. Another suck show on the price is right.
pepe! It took us all summer to clean out all the skunk stink from seasons 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40!!!

Nothing more than a one-hour disappointment:

THE BAD NEWS:

No wins on any pricing games for the contestants (Except a half loss on Clock Game), and they would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for that meddling kid (Sorry, Connor).

THE GOOD NEWS:

No DOB.

I really do like kids, but Drew should've known that his son was gonna be a jinx (Sorry, but I call it like I see it) when he "helped out" with the pricing games.............And Mike should've never agree to this. Plus, why put a car on Secret X?! Probably one of the worst shows this season.

And the utter disaster of a show that we all knew was coming. This may not have technically been a skunk, but it was one of the worst shows of the season. I can understand how having Connor come out at the intro works, and I've liked the way they've used him in showcases, but having him randomly stand around adds nothing except lots and lots of annoyance to the show. And trust me, this show didn't need any annoyance added to it. Between another awful Clock Game playing, Secret X for a car blatantly inserted to get a loss (although I guess it was semi-cool to see that for the first time since 1998), $6 cinnamon sticks (yikes - happy end of season there) and two more OB guests, the annoyance factor was quite high enough already. I guess it's best just to dump all the bad on one show, so we were able to enjoy the shows of the past two weeks. But please, someone needs to get Drew and Connor in line. I hope we have some good shows left in this last week.

Timings:
One Away (5) - 5:35
One Wrong Price (3.5) - 3:19
Grand Game (5) - 4:33
Push Over (4) - 3:28
Secret X (4.5) - 4:32
Clock Game (4.5) - 4:51
Total (26.5): 26:08

Not true. Secret X was played for a car on Christmas week in 2004.

The last time Secret "X" was played for a car was May 10, 2007.  Prior to that, it was the time 3StrikesFan talked about (December 24, 2004).  Prior to that, it was April 8, 1999.  The 1998 playing Kev347 was referring to was the time prior to the 1999 playing I just said.

Did Drew call Connor his "son"? I thought he was his ex-girlfriend's child. Drew is neither his biological nor his adoptive father.

And I'm pretty sure Connor blocked the Push Over contestant from seeing the reveal. If they're going to use him on the show, they should teach him where to stand and what to do, not just let him wander around aimlessly.

What a horrible show today.  Thank goodness there was not a double overbid in the showcase.

IMO, they should've given the iPad & the bonus to Mary on Clock Game because the clock did not stop right away when she said $810 for the luggage.

But then again, I could tell that Drew cared less about what Connor did throughout the show.......And even though I don't have anything against Drew or Connor, but if he can't keep his kid in check, then maybe he shouldn't bring him back again. For all our sakes anyway.

Been a while since we've seen Connor.  I'd rather see him on this show than Daniel Goddard, that's for damn sure.

Grand Game was tricky, but winnable.  I know that whole cinnamon sticks are expensive, so it was a winning setup for me.

But what I really wanna know is how they kept that bag of ice from melting all over the Grand Game set when it's sitting under those hot studio lights.

Ashley furniture in Pushover... anybody else besides me tempted to say 0549? :-D

Secret X for a car... pick the bottom!  It's always the bottom when it's for a car!

How many times did Margaret #2 say $850 in Clock Game?  She was almost as bad as Donna, who was obsessed with $550 two months ago.  But unlike most terrible Clock Game contestants, Margaret #2 realized halfway through her bidding that she screwed up when she went higher than $900 after being told "lower".

My showcase bids:
:frbs --$27,107
Car--$27,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Won 1WP, PushOver and Secret X.  Will never know on Clock Game, although if I hosted, I would have stopped the clock and told her the range she has, not restarting until after her next bid (something Dennis James used to do during his tenure as TPIR-nighttime host)

Brutal heart-break loss to start the day.  One-Away is a BAD game to bat lead-off on the show.

One Wrong Price would have been won 99 times out of 100 with that so easy setup.  But of course, our contestant today was in that 1%.

EVIL Grand Game setup strikes again.

We have yet another 1% loser here.  Pushover only had 1 possible choice that made sense.

The blender grinds up another victim in Secret X.

All I can say about Clock Game i-yi-yi.

Another boat win in the Showcase.

Well, uh, aside from the distractions from Connor and various completely random OB guests, it was... still pretty bad.

One Away: well, if she was playing for the Fiat 500, she would have aced it. Any of the last 3 could have reasonably needed changing, though I figured it'd be the last digit.

One Wrong Price: This, though, shouldn't have been lost. That motorcycle is on the cheaper side, but no way was it that cheap.

Grand Game: I knew the cinnamon sticks were a trap. Spices can be quite expensive, after all.

Push Over: Ashley furniture = cheap. Those steaks sure weren't going to change that.

Secret "X": Well, there's our "X on the bottom" setup, predictably with the car at stake. GPs were okay; both were fair toss-ups.

Clock Game: Margaret made a critical error by not catching "lower than 900". Had she not made that mistake, she would have won this game.
