12/7/12 -- RESULTS
« on: December 08, 2012, 05:56:16 PM »
This week's FPG commemorated Drew's 1,000th episode of TPIR.  The FPG itself had a lot of notable things about it:

1.  Steve's prediction of a loss, as I mentioned yesterday morning.
2.  We had a ZERO-FREE SCOREBOARD!  Every single person who played this week scored at least 1 MP.  Roger Willy, has this ever happened before?
3.  No two players this week had the same MP/CP score.  Roger Willy, has this ever happened before?
4.  Every player who went ALL-IN was successful in doubling his PA bucks.  Roger Willy, has this ever happened before?

Before I announce the winners and the scores, I have one score in particular I want to single out.  If you looked at this week's picks, you noticed that sideshowPA picked three PGs that had already been played this week.  I may be experiencing a little schadenfreude here, but I am so happy that sidey placed 5th this week with an 8/28.  Maybe DJTorgo and the rest of you will think twice before you criticize another player's picks or give out any more of those horse-s**t Herp-a-Derp Awards.

Now to this week's top three!

Our bronze medalist did slightly better in the confidence points than sidey and finished with a score of 8 MP/36 CP on picks of S? (rS/rR), Any (wS/rR), Most (wS/wR), and Rat (wS/wR).  That was OneBidTris!

Our runner-up maxed out on the PA bonus by going ALL-IN on the day's two biggest winners.  On top of the second-place FPG monies, he's going to zoom up the season leaderboard with over $720,000.  Who scored 8 MP/42 CP on picks of Any (rS/rR), Most (wS/rR), and Rat (wS/rR)?  Hi Jack!  It's Punchboard91!

But this week's winner... hmmm, "winner" is an understatement.  Like Punchy, he went ALL-IN on the day's two biggest winners.  With the first-place FPG monies, that's over $750,000.  And his score is the biggest I've seen in a long time.  12 MP/42 CP on picks of S? (rS/wR), Any (rS/rR), Most (rS/rR), and Rat (wS/rR).  12 MP was enough to qualify for the 25-point bonus, but Lucky $even was the first game out of the box and three people picked it--one of which was not the winner.  And that winner is...

vadernader!  Fanstastic work this week!

See everybody again on Friday!

Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

You guys have NO idea how happy I am that Torgo came in two spots behind Sideshow.

Take that, ya little jackass.

Well.....my suggestion would be to focus on the game then....I thought we were done with that particular discussion.....Anyway.....

*engraves name on 2nd place podium* Seems I'm going to be here awhile... :-)

Still surprised no one else picked 1 Right Price....I thought it usually gets more love than Switch? but perhaps that's just because last time I picked it, it showed up.  :-P

I was torn between 1 Right Price and Switch? myself, but ended up choosing the latter game just because. Also, I'm now kicking myself for not picking Rat Race, seeing that Drew created the game, and also, 1/2 Off over It's in the Bag. Should've gone with my gut with these...

As for the game Steve predicted a loss in, I don't want to know, and I don't care. Let's just move on to the next FPG.

Really? We still haven't let the s*** about DJ go?  Amazing.

Not to self-promote, but honestly, have a look at this: http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/topic,20554.0.html

Why? Because the link expresses where I feel this site is currently. And I'm NOT happy about it.

What's that? I'm missing the point of this thread? I don't give a s***. In my mind, it's already derailed.

I apologize, BRB, but I feel the need to express this. Feel free to lock the thread if you deem it essential.
Stop the madness.

Torgo acted in a way that he shouldn't have, and has been dealt with appropriately. Any further comments regarding the situation will be regarded as potshots directed at him. At that point your actions lower you to the level of the one who got in trouble in the first place, and as Torgo himself has seen, those remarks eventually catch up to you and award unintended vacations.

Enough is enough.

... wow.

What's that? I'm missing the point of this thread? I don't give a s***. In my mind, it's already derailed.
Three posts derail a thread? Two people actually said something about it and while one didn't exactly add anything, the other simply pointed out a fact that was indeed related to the results. A thread only becomes derailed when more than an entire page is devoted to a different subject, not two posts. It only becomes derailed when you cloud your mind as such. Don't let that happen.

My slotting was just terrible. I completely screwed up there. Cost myself a lot of points. Terrible, just terrible.

Like I said elsewhere, I highly suspected a three-car show was possible today. Range was my third car game, but I see they decided to break out three actual car games instead. Nothing wrong with that.

I was hoping Punch would be the casher, instead we got Bag. While I don't have a problem with Bag (I found to be highly overplayed in seasons past), I like the chance and unpredictability offered in Punch, especially with the rash of 10K wins.

But it was very nice to see everyone do well this Friday and an excellent congrats to the folks who went all in on your Play Alongs and had it go your way!

Switch? has been played more or the same number of times as 1 Right Price since Season 21, so it's probably time to change that point of view.  :P

I'm sorry that I didn't see the FPG posts that DJTorgo made until now.  I see that it was handled appropriately and swiftly by Seth.  Thank you for that.
