Boy, did the Mayans get it wrong or what? Not only did the world not end, but our FPG scores in general didn't suck. (Today's CSS was another story, though.)
A highly predictable Friday-before-Christmas lineup. Well... except for Freeze Frame. We all got Sandbagged on that one. Nonetheless, every player came away with at least 1 MP for the second time this month.
Drew Carey, Mike Richards, and Michael Dimich were definitely not my favorite people this week. We had three trips whose values were never revealed... and all three of the aforementioned people were to blame for one apiece. Drew didn't reveal the Finland trip in Wednesday's Bonkers win, Richards had the nerve to put a sexed up San Francisco trip in today's Master Key (which, to my dismay, got won), and Dimich didn't show the price of the Palm Springs trip in yesterday's 1 Right Price win.
So that forced me once again to
pull prices out of my butt use prices from previous episodes. As I mentioned in Wednesday's recap thread, I'm using $9,559 for Finland (per Christmas Week 2009). For Palm Springs, I'm using $3,036 (per October 1). For San Francisco, I'm using $12,159 (per November 21).
Adding all of that up and factoring in all of the Christmas bonuses that I announced last week, we had a pot of over
$700,000! Aren't you glad the apocalypse didn't happen?

I know I am... because I had my best performance of the season so far and everyone is here to see it. But a couple of people still beat me. Let's find out who out-predicted me.
Receiving a nice little bronze sculpture under his Christmas tree was the guy who scored an impressive 12 MP/58 CP for nailing the entire first-half lineup in the correct order--Rent (rS/rR), Pushy (rS/wR), and L7 (rS/rR)--and then adding a cherry on top with Key (rS/wR). That was
vadernader!
The fancy silver-plated flatware went to the person who scored an even more impressive 14 MP/64 CP with Rent (rS/rR), Pushy (rS/rR), L7 (wS/rR), and Most (rS/rR). That was
thepriceis_J!
But the best Christmas present this year went to the guy who went
5-FOR-6 and scored a phenomenal
16 MP/68 CP! I had to go through the FPG records and see how this score compared. The all-time highest FPG score was recorded by Jay Cross (JayC) on November 12, 2004. His score that day was 19/68, and he correctly predicted all six of that day's PGs. So today's winner tied the all-time record for confidence points.
Before I reveal that winner, I should also mention that the wire-to-wire bonus was up for grabs today. Four people scored at least 11 MPs. All four of them started off the morning by nailing Rent/L/6 for 4/24. The second PG of the day was Pushy, which all of them picked. vader and Kev347 were the most confident on Pushy showing up, so they were tied for the lead with 8/30 and were still eligible to pick up those 25 bonus points. You already know that vader only got up to third place this week, so he didn't win the bonus.
Well... Kev ended the morning in 5th place, so nobody wins the bonus this week. Coming out of nowhere to take the gold Rolex watch with picks of Rent (rS/rR), Pushy (wS/rR), L7 (wS/rR), Most (rS/rR), and Key (rS/rR) was...
Punchboard91! Congratulations!
I hope that everybody has a safe and joyous Christmas, Kwanzaa, and New Year. Join me again in 2013 when we kick off a new year of FPG with another fun fun fun Play-Along game. Bye!

*=sideshowPA won the tiebreaker for slotting Pushover in the correct half, but it hardly mattered here since he and Teddy will receive the same amount of FPG monies and points.
