$36,000 It's In the Bag in the first half (first game, in fact). How in in the world did I not see that coming. :rollold: However, a good Money Game win with a cheapo (well, it was $17,000, but Fiesta hatchbacks can certainly fall in the $15,000-$17,000 range) car spared the week from having no winners in the first halves of the shows. A lucky 1-rat-out-of-5 win in Rat Race after two difficult prizes added some spice to the show, as well.

Great show, overall. 4/6 with 3 car wins always makes for a good day!

I thought Bag was setup pretty fairly, although that hot sauce was certainly tricky. What was up with the one random sponsored product at the end of George's description, though? The first 5 all had the typical brief, unsponsored plug, which really threw me off when George read the final item. As much as I prefer sponsored plugs over non-sponsored ones, I don't want to hear just a single product out of six get one, either. It sounds way out of place.

Is that the most expensive prize Money Game has ever given away in total? Over $37,000 once the cash was factored in.

Rat Race...lucky guess with pinky! I picked yellow, which ran out of gas before making it to the end...

This comment doesn't apply to any specific episode, but I really miss the days when at least one of the showcases usually wasn't all that fantastic.  It's boring when they always both have cars or boats or craptons of trips in them.

Don't get me wrong, today was certainly a good show, but honestly, I'm getting tired of showcases that only feature trips, boats and cars. Today, we had the whole trifecta, for crying out loud. I'm waiting for the day when a remix of Splendido emerges, and we have an all-furniture showcase. I'm actually beginning to miss those days, which is something I never thought I would say.

Speaking of which, what was up with the almost-FRATS / :frbs:? I thought for sure that one would be $24,000+, at the least. I guess Mike is finally getting away from having sexed-up trips...
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

IItB: Unsurprising loss; I was even worried it would be a wipeout.

ME: Should've been won in my book.

Money: Well done, Adam from NJ, on breaking the turntable (& car) PG curse for the PCH Prize Patrol episode!

DC: Not bad, as usual.

CoG: Also easy.

RR: The pink rat hands out a miracle car win again! BTW, the Sonata they're currently offering's worth $21,680, not $21,990.

Showcases: Man, was this ever Adam Consovoy's lucky day! I think that was George re-presenting the $20K check to him.

By far, the best show of the week to date!

I wouldn't call the Sea-Doo a boat.  I don't go calling the ATVs "cars".
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

Finally some good from PCH Week:

THE BAD NEWS:

IITB: Too bad Cameron mixed up the hot sauce and the Brussel sprouts.

ME: It was a frickin' 3D TV!!

THE GOOD NEWS:

Double Cross: Easy win by Christopher!

Coming Or Going: Tomika's "going" to Seattle!

Rat Race: I feared that this was gonna be a wipeout, but thankfully Sara got the last SP right and got the pink rat to win the Sonata!

Money Game: I'm glad that Adam won the Fiesta along with the 20 Gs...........also the Fiat!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

So far, this was the best show of the week...........And thanks to Adam, the Money Game winner, Drew didn't have to mention "$20,000"...............much. However, on the first SC, I find it unusual that they would present the watercraft 2nd and have it sandwiched between the Hamptons and Tonga trips. Normally, they should've presented something like that last after mentioning the trips.

As for Kimberly from Contestant's Row, she really couldn't catch a break with the IUFBs. Oh well, as Robbie Nevil would say, "C'est La Vie".

Either way, today was better than Monday and a lot better than yesterday.

Playing Bag 1st today was one of the dumber decisions ever. Bee bothered me a bit early on in the show yesterday, but people rarely bail out of that so the 20k wasn't going to change the complexion much. But suddenly turning Bag into a 36k game with an 8k to 36k jump automatically by playing it 1st is exactly the kind of underhanded thing I predicted they'd do last year. I wouldn't be surprised if this got played 6th last year because Scott wanted to avoid this situation, but now it's apparently they just don't care. And of course it's even harder than usual, just making it more likely the contestant wins nothing. They're lucky this one was lost early, or it would look really bad.

It was a 4/6 and yet it could've easily been 0/6 after Most Expensive (the most winnable game today, IMO) - the contestants lucked out in Money Game (with an "El Cheapo" on the board begging to be picked) and Rat Race (I thought we were looking at a wipeout going into the vacuum - I was surprised how cheap it was), and neither Double Cross nor Coming or Going were gimmes.
So this is the "get off of my lawn" stage of my life.  I'm not impressed.

It's In The Bag:  I couldn't believe how expensive the hot sauce was & how inexpensive the Brussels sprouts were (it looked like a pretty big bag to me).
Most Expensive:  Curses! :-(
Money Game:  Great to see the $20,000 won on a car game for a change!
Double Cross, Coming Or Going:  Nice wins! :-)
Rat Race:  Awesome comeback win!
Showcase:  Nice to see the car showcase won to make it a 3 car day! :-)

One of the best shows of the season, IMHO.

Great win in Money Game today and really great and lucky win in Rat Race!

Gotta point out that today was one of those rare occasions when every bid from Contestant's Row was under $1000. In the 1970s not rare at all, I figure. But in 2013...

Anyone else notice something a bit off when George read this about the Good & Plenty: "Well, first up, it's a delicious box of licorice candy"?      "MMMM... delicious box."  :P

"Well, first up, it's a delicious box of licorice candy"?      "MMMM... delicious box."  :P
I actually didn't catch that. The prize copy should have swapped "box of" and "delicious." Or perhaps the box itself was made out of licorice candy, and as such, really was delicious. (Yes, I realize that I'm possibly overreaching by critiquing the prize copy, but let me revel in my petty humour now and again, mkay? :-D)

(see previous posts I've made criticizing George for acting goofy while modeling prizes in Most Expen$ive)

Otherwise, decent show today. I had to laugh at Drew's comment that people win It's in the Bag all the time. Sure, he's going to say it to put the contestant at ease, but, it's just not true. I thought El Cheapo would cost him the win in Money Game; good thing it was a decoy. $3,618 was the only price that looked right for the computer in Double Cross. Coming or Going could have gone either way, so, good for her on being lucky. Rat Race was almost a shut-out until a lucky pick with the pink rat (which was also the one I picked).

Otherwise, trips, boats and cars for the showcases. I miss the Port 'O Price. At least they both had three prizes in them.
