THE BAD NEWS:

Money Game: 17 for Peter's last choice? (sighing while SMH)

Bargain Game: That was screaming for a win........Despite Eliot losing that, he did a Double Dollar and his SC.

Shopping Spree: Same as Bargain Game.

Stack The Deck: Another "close but no cigar".........How unfortunate for Patricia. This is getting such a horrible track record, as of late, with just one win from last season. And must be one of the people who didn't know what edaname was.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Cliffhangers: Again?! Well, at least Hans is spared this time (Third time's a charm, right?). Nice job by Johnny!

Pushover: That was a little tricky since I thought it was $6289 for that trip. Nice work from Courtlin!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

2/6 wins with the addition of the Double Dollar, so that was good. But that Liquid Plumr guy..............No. Just.........No.

My two cents:

Money Game: Tough break.
Bargain Game: Tough break there, too. But at least Eliot redeemed himself by winning $26,000 on the Big Wheel and his Showcase!
Cliff Hangers: Great win! (and not a bad touch to the prize package)
Shopping Spree: Tough break. I knew the treadmill was pricey.
Push Over: Good win.
Stack the Deck: OUCH! Only one off, despite getting only one GP.

Showcases: Both Showcases were equally great (the Story Showcase would've been the better, were it not for Rick (the Liquid Plumr guy) presenting the 2nd). 'Nuff said.

I would've also lost StD- I thought for sure that MINI Cooper was $23K+.

Well, as Eliot showed- if you're not going to win your PG, at least let it not involve a trip, money or a car.

Holy cow! A camcorder package showed up in Shopping Spree today! But how on earth was it so expensive? It could have been due to the inclusion of the bag, which did not look like a camera bag to me. It looked more like a designer bag like you see in Designer Accessories collections.

Also going to return this old tradition...

Best Contestant of the Day: Eliot, who although lost his pricing game, earned a double dollar on the Big Wheel and won his showcase!
Worst Contestant of the Day: The Stack the Deck player (I forget her name at the moment). She wasn't exactly confident in her choices for the numbers and earned only one additional free number.

Cliffhangers: Again?! Well, at least Hans is spared this time (Third time's a charm, right?). Nice job by Johnny!

Why does this bother you? Cliff Hangers typically has at least 4 appearances within the first six weeks. It's been like that for a long while.

Couldn't agree more. That was awful - in the who's who of random guest stars that have done walk-ons in the last seven seasons, this one probably ranks at the top of the "who cares?" list.

Pleased to see the first $26,000 bonus winner this season, but, I do somewhat disagree with Drew's call to not let Elliot change his bid during the showcase. I can remember several times when Bob was hosting where someone would say a bid (and even have it light up) and then quickly change it without being locked in like that. Good thing he ended up winning anyway, but, if he had lost and could have won if he were allowed to change his bid to $25,000 like he wanted to do, I wonder if there might have been some S&P issue there.

This has been an interesting episode.

Money Game: The contestant should never pick a number that looks like the first two digits of a car after choosing the first two numbers of the car correctly.
Bargain Game: This game has been the most played game in Season 43 so far with 5 plays. That ATV looked pretty expensive.
Cliff Hangers: I liked how he used the 25-35-45 strategy to win.
Showcase Showdown 1: Elliot has been an amusing contestant. His first two bids ended with 69, and he did an epic reaction when getting his $1,000. And then he did the first double dollar spin of Season 43.
Shopping Spree: Picking between the Air Hocky Table and the Treadmill was tough.
Pushover: No comments. I'm glad she won.
Stack the Deck: Oh, that was so close.

Interesting first showcase. I'm glad Elliot won his showcase. He had one of the best days of his life.

Ok show today , interesting that the official Twitter page for the show ruined the 1st showcase showdown a half hour before airing.
And that's why I don't follow their Twitter account. It's because of spoilers.

Peter did not seriously pick 17 last, did he?  I have no words to describe that.

Exactly why was Plumber Rick in today's episode?

I'm pretty sure that some of what Eliot did in his Dig We Must celebration dances should have been censored by the FCC.  But congratulations to him on being our first $26,000 winner of the season.

Another painful Stack the Deck loss.  Patricia might have won if she had correctly guessed just one of the other two pairs of GPs.  She obviously knew how to play this game because she picked the last number for free.  She probably would have gone logically for the fourth number next--the only number that she ultimately missed--but we'll never know.

My showcase bids:
WWP--$23,707
Car--$29,707
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Money Game: *redacted* The three adjacent numbers in a row on the board, (usually in the teens or low twenties) are choices for the front, not the back. I knew as soon as today's contestant picked 17 for the back with his last choice that we had a loss on our hands. It's too bad the Toyota Corolla wasn't won. Those iPad Airs were a fantastic contestants row prize though.

Bargain Game: I see the level of difficulty as medium. Both bargain prices looked quite low but my instincts would have won this for me. Unfortunate it wasn't won. The ATV was a decent prizes though accessories aren't a prize I'd want to play for.

Cliffhangers: Today's contestant played the game wonderfully and was rewarded with an outstanding kitchen set. To be off by a combined $5 on the first two SPs was fantastic. After that any reasonable guess on the last SP would have won it and that's what we got. Today's contestant was fantastic.

Shopping Spree: Turns out the two prizes of the package were the most expensive prizes. But when it came down to the last pick it was tough because both the treadmill and the air hockey looked like less than the amount left. I would have won because I would expect an air hockey table to a three digit prize. The Sony camcorder and the Bull barbeque were the best prizes in the package. Too bad it wasn't win.

Pushover: Nice win of a nice Aruba trip.

Stack the Deck: Ouch. It's really a shame the Mini Cooper wasn't won. Today's contestant might well have won had she used her free pick on the tens digit. She knew the value of the car in placing it in the $24600 range. Of course the tens and ones digits are the random digits in the price of a car. But many people would choose 5 for the ones digit. We'll never know but I think today's contestant might have won had she used her free pick on the tens digit.

Showcases: The Mitsubishi Mirage showcase was the better showcase and I'm glad it was won.

Lineup: Very good: Money Game, Cliffhangers, and Shopping Spree are all favorites and Money Game makes a great lead off hitter. Pushover is one of our best one prize games and Bargain Game is a good game that slots well second. However, Stack the Deck is a terrible closer. I'd have flip flopped the slotting and played Stack the Deck fifth and Pushover as Pushover is a fun closer. I've become disenchanted with Stack the Deck in recent times but overall I enjoyed the lineup very much.

Overall: With the $25000 win on the wheel, a very good lineup, and a car showcase won, this was one of our better 2 for 6 shows.

...we've been over this. Don't call contestants "stupid" for supposed bad decisions. You try going on that stage and tell me you don't get nervous.

Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Sometimes they're also for the back.
When they're in the teens though..... Particularly since 19 WAS the front. It should have been clear that the 17 was a possible choice for the front and not the back.
