Good show today , another 5/6 day
Great playing of Pathfinder and Rat Race (which I think had the highest priced 2nd small prize ever in this game )
We were a bad playing of Money Game away from another perfect show.

Those GPs/SPs in Rat Race were just evil. What a comeback!

That was really a top-heavy distribution of the cash, though. I was expecting along the lines of $20K/$30K/$50K.

THE BAD NEWS:

Money Game: The only loss of today. Gee...And I thought Joelle from #5293K was the worst. Maritza was being a tad erratic with her picks. That "cheap-as-Hell" Fiesta didn't help much, either.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Switch?: Distance prevails again...Good job by Gina! And she won her SC!

Rat Race: That setup was hella evil. A $80 iron?!! Wow. Anthony, thankfully, got the juice extractor right for a race...And won $75K!

CoG: Good job by Shahd!

Race Game: Quick and easy win by Stephanie!

Pathfinder: Rhonda did a superb job!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

So far, UDecide Week is off to a good start...Money Game was the busted leg of a centipede for a perfect show, though.

The only one that was really evil was the iron. I was actually 1 penny off on the price of the first item ($6).

I personally liked the distribution for Rat Race,  as you HAVE to win the game to get the big money, but there were still great consolation prizes for 2nd and 3rd.
Won $79,525 on my first Host Your Own game.

MG: Not the best way to start off this wk.

S?: Easy, because trips to D.C. aren't that cheap anymore.

RR: I so wanted Grand to be played for the $100K instead of this; at least the $75K was picked off in exciting fashion.

CoG: I thought after going w/ the right way Shahd would audience out & lose, but thankfully that wasn't the case.

RG: 10-sec. win!

Pathfinder: That might very well have been the first taped win here this season.

Showcases: Stephanie was dead in the water w/ her $14K bid on Showcase #1.

Great show to start U Decide Wk.!

It amuses me that Square #15 in Pathfinder magically changes from a [2] to a [5] as the game progresses.

Why not just make the first place rat worth $100,000 in Rat Race if the show feels a $75,000/$15,000/$10,000 breakdown suffices? I'm pleased the contestant won the race with his sole rat, but ... hoo boy, that iron. $80? Panasonic must use gold in their processing.

And it's magically changed to 5s all around.

Also, as for Rat Race, I still think $100,000 Grand would've been functionally better. As I mentioned previously, $175,000 for Rat Race worked better (be it the oddball total), but breaking up $100,000 isn't easy as amazing.

I personally think they should of had the $100,000 as a stand-alone top prize, and then have a car as the 2nd place prize and a standard $1k to $3k prize as the 3rd place prize.

I can understand the distribution of money in Rat Race. As some have pointed out here, and vader in chat, majority of the money should be won for actually winning the game, something I didn't initially take into account as I was also thinking it would be 50k/30k/20k. And in general, not surprising the fans chose Rat Race, as it seems like more of a "fun game" to the general audience of the show. Should be interesting how the rest of the week goes and how the fans voted.

Also interesting that, in the case getting just the 2nd place rat would be worth just about the same as winning the usual top prize of a car (could even be a bit more depending on the car).

I found the sequence in which the contestant chose the numbers in Money Game quite refreshing, even though she didn't win.

Great $75K win today in Rat Race. Very exciting. And I know this is off-topic, but how does this sound: "From Television City in Hollywood, this is the seventy-five thousand-dollar Pyramid!" ? :)     I like the way that sounds, and I think it would be a good top prize today, like $25K was in the early to mid 1980s.

Ok. Back to Price.

There are some days where you feel that you have set everything up for success.

A grocery product that looks more expensive than it is? Check.

A small prize that looks less expensive than it is? Check.

A completely random race to determine if the contestant wins the grand prize? Check.

And then things go wrong and you end up giving away $75,000.

Money Game: Neither the best playing nor the easiest setup. Could have gone either way. It's too bad the Ford Fiesta wasn't won and it's a shame this ended up costing us a perfect show. The smartphone and smartwatch were nice contestants row prizes.

Switch? Easy win of some nice Oregon and D.C. trips. D.C. isn't likely to be under $5000 so a setup of $4287 on D.c. and $5632 on Oregon clearly called for a switch.

Rat race: After now seeing it for a second time, I'm finding that I really enjoy Rat Race as a cash game, especially since it has played as a big cash game. There's a certain thrill about having just one rat won meaning the opportunity for big money to be won. And as a big cash game it seems fairer because although I'm not a fan of perfect pricing allowing for a loss, in this case, perfect pricing would have guaranteed $10000. That seems pretty fair. It's also unique to have a game offer three separate cash prizes. As for today's game, it was setup for only one rat to be won as the first two items, especially the iron, were very difficult. At least the juice extractor had a reasonable setup. To see the $75000 won was totally awesome baby! Orange is supposed to be a happy color. It certainly was today.

Coming or Going: Can't think of much to say about this segment. Glad it was won.

Race Game: A 10 second win! Quick wins in Race Game are always fun. If you were paying attention to the prices this was setup to be won in 1-2 turns as the ATV was clearly the most expensive prize and the grill clearly went with the $2289. The HP laptop, Bull gas grill, and Kymco ATV were all excellent prizes. Although the accessories aren't my thing, overall this was a strong prize package, Love the fast win! The Samsung TV was a superb contestants row prize.

Pathfinder: Really great Pathfinder playing today and really glad to see the Chevy Cruze won. It always helps to get the thousands digit correct on the first try and both the car setup and the setups were quite fair today. Outstanding way to close out the pricing games.

Showcases: The Mini Cooper showcase was absolutely the better showcase and I'm really glad it was won.

Lineup: Strong. Money Game and Pathfinder are favorites that make a strong lead off hitter and closer. Race Game is a favorite, And I very much enjoyed Rat Race as a big cash game. Coming or Going is amongst our dullest games but overall a strong lineup today.

Overall: 5 for 6 including a car win and a  $75000 win with a strong lineup and a Mini Cooper showcase being won made this a great show.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

After seeing how it was setup and the last two playings of it, I wouldn't be against seeing Rat Race moved to full time cash game status.  Make the grand prize $40,000  with prizes of $5000, $10,000, and $25,000, and have a similar difficulty on the sp/gp part of the game.

Either the gp or 1st sp should be evil (that would be the iron), than the other of the pair should be difficult but manageable.  The Coracedin was great for this, as you may already take it and know the price, or think 'ok - this is either as expensive or way more expensive than regular cold medicine' and are looking at essentially a coin flip.\

Finally, the SP.  And as long as they don't top $300 for it, this prize should be a gimmie.  They've been pretty good on that fact - since the debut of Rat Race, 56 of the 58 playings offered a SP under $300.  Both times they went over, it was a miss.
