Double: Not a bad beginning whatsoever.

PtR: Too bad people are starting to realize nectar's cheap, especially here.

MG: El Cheapo defeated this time!

SM: Easy because for once, the most expensive prize had to be selected.

PO: I was confident $8K+ was it, but I wasn't sure.

RR: Matthew bracketed the car-winning rat; at least nobody really lost a game today.

Showcases: Matthew just posted one of the largest overbids this season even though he had the $38K+ one.

Good show today.

To be fair to the Rent contestant, I would have had no idea that the can of guava nectar was that cheap. It sounds like a product that seems more expensive than it is. I also thought the blueberries would be cheaper. I don't know whether I'm alone int his, but if I'm not, there you go.

You have Swap Meet labeled as a loss by the way.

I'm glad Mildred won - for some reason I really was rooting for her from the beginning, but I've never yelled at my TV for a contestant to bid $1 so much before!
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

My two cents:

Double Prices: Pretty pricey trip. Great win, anyway!
Pay the Rent: I had no idea guava juice could be so cheap. Nevertheless, at least she bailed out with $10K.
Money Game: What a win! Thanks to El Cheapo!
Swap Meet: Good win.
Push Over: Same as Swap Meet.
Rat Race: Well, 2 out of 3 prizes (w/o winning the car) isn't half bad. Not even a quarter bad. Especially if it's monthly cakes and weekly dinners for 2 for a year.

Showcases: I was hoping for Mildred to just bid a dollar on her Showcase after Matthew bid $55K on a Showcase with a jet boat and no car. But $15K's good enough, considering Showcases these days are no less than that anymore.

BTW,  preferred the Showcase with the jet boat, since I prefer boats over trips.

THE BAD NEWS:

Well, the only thing that was bad is when Matthew bid $55K on his own SC. Even jetboats aren't that expensive, IMHO. If any consolation though, at least he's not the worst overbidder.

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

PtR: Personally, that guava juice sure was a new item today...I probably would've gotten duped over that. It seems that a decent amount of those items, including that, really caught some of us off-guard today. Well, Madeline bailing out with $10K was a good choice.

Rat Race: At least Matthew a year's worth of cakes...That's something, I guess. Seems the blue rat wasn't feeling it this time.

THE GOOD NEWS:

DP: A good win by Thomas!

MG: El Cheapo was in play again...Good thing Mildred's friend told her to pick that to win a pretty pricey Sonic. Getting a G-bar and winning her SC wasn't bad, either.

Swap Meet: They sure were hoping for a loss from that setup. That was a good win by Douglas!

Pushover: Easy win for Vista!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Still, a pretty good show with no losing horns.

Gotta love when El Cheapo gets thwarted!

I would have liked to see what would have happened if the flat iron in Rat Race was $34...

Usually the jet boat is GOTC bait, but somehow Matthew got the first WOTC this season.

Yay! ERitH! As long as Mildred bid anything under $19K, she was going to win it.

Rat Race: At least Matthew a year's worth of cakes...That's something, I guess.
He also won weekly dinners for 2 for a year. His rats came in 2nd and 3rd place.

Oh, and here are a couple winning combinations for today's Pay the Rent (correct me if I'm wrong):

#1:

Mailbox: Cookie mix (3.19)
1st floor: Guava juice and shampoo (7.58)
2nd floor: Antacid and blueberries (9.18)
Attic: Listerine (9.99)

#2:

Mailbox: Antacid (4.99)
1st floor: Cookie mix and blueberries (7.38)
2nd floor: Guava juice and shampoo (7.58)

Was this a show from 2015 or 1995?

El Cheapo! A Rug! ERITH! If we had the Bean Stalker remix we could've made a case.

I'm disappointed that ERITH was A) half ERITH and B) didn't start with a darkened set. Come on, Adam. You've been there since the Roger days, you know better than that. Still, it was nice to see "EVERY ROOM" on the SC podium.

So nice to see DP at Contestant's Row. I like seeing DP out of its normal Door 2 spot. Now, if only they could do a GPT Double Prices once in a while.

Rent was Rent. I won't roundly criticize her because that setup wasn't easy. I was torn between the shampoo and Listerine with myself going with the shampoo. Ah well.

You have Swap Meet labeled as a loss by the way.
That's probably because it wasn't meant to be won anyway. :p I mean, wow, $2500 watches? I surely thought he had lost.

Oh, and here are a couple winning combinations for today's Pay the Rent (correct me if I'm wrong):

#2:

Mailbox: Antacid (4.99)
1st floor: Cookie mix and blueberries (7.38)
2nd floor: Guava juice and shampoo (7.58)
Attic: Listerine (9.99)

There was a 3rd possible solution to PtR:

Mailbox:  Blueberries ($4.19)
1st Floor:  Guava juice and shampoo ($7.58)
2nd Floor:  Antacid and cookie mix ($8.18)
Attic:  Listerine ($9.99)

I found this variety of possible winning combinations of intriguing:  although the guava juice and shampoo always had to be together on the same floor with each other, the actual floor that they could be on varied.  While we've seen setups where individual items were interchangeable, I can't recall a playing in which two items were "linked" but could be moved around so long as they were always together on the same floor.  Interesting.
